This spot is full of local history and clearly a longtime favorite among Mérida’s residents. It’s a great place to cool off on a hot summer night in the city. Don’t expect traditional ice cream—what they serve here are mostly tropical fruit sorbets and fresh fruit-based shakes, all made with real ingredients. Everything we tried was delicious, and the service was quick, even late at night—we went around 11 PM.
It’s definitely part of Mérida’s cultural charm, and worth experiencing at least once. While the baked goods didn’t stand out, the ice cream and fruit options are clearly the stars. There’s a wide variety of flavors to choose from. The place itself is a bit run-down, but the local vibe and flavors more than make up for it.
