Where to Make a Meal Out of Nachos in D.C. | Eater DC

"Dulcinea’s nachos hold down the fort with all the classic toppings (beans, cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, jalapenos, salsa and queso fresco all come standard). Try some with chorizo for a spicy bonus or al pastor pork for an atypical combo." - Travis Mitchell

This was cute little place my husband and I stopped at on our travels. I got the tacos barria and he got the nachos. They were both amazing. We honestly could've split one as the portions were very generous

Google
Went in on a Wednesday evening and it was empty but I was hopeful. Ended up being delicious. Started with fresh made guacamole and taquitos, added a couple of Barbacoa tacos and it was all great. I don't live in the area but I'd encourage those who do to visit this small restaurant.

Google
Freaking amazing place! Do not let the size of this place fool you! It may be small in size, but it is absolutely amazing in every other regard! The service is phenomenal (Janet is the best), the food is wonderful, the drinks are exactly what you need (legit one of the best margaritas I’ve EVER had!!), and the vibe of the spot is very nice!! I just moved to area last night and while searching for some local restaurants I found Dulcinea, soooo glad I did, and I can’t wait to get back!

Google
Really good neighborhood Mexican restaurant. This hole in the wall restaurant offers great Mexican dishes and awesome happy hour menu too. I highly recommend getting fajitas, chimichanga, quesadillas, and chorizo tacos. Staffs are super friendly and the place is pretty clean too.

Google
I was Surprised by this tiny hole in the wall but not necessarily pleasantly. Very small and authentic looking and that’s about it for the positives. The initial greeting and subsequent service were far less than stellar. The tables were dirty. We moved to several before we cleaned one ourselves, well enough to sit down then had a server clean again when she finally came. We had to ask for the complimentary chips and salsa. When we finally received entrees after a 20 minute wait, they were mediocre and we didn’t finish them. It’s not that I don’t recommend this establishment, but I would never go out of my way to get there. I would just make this an absolute last resort and only if you’re starving and everything else is closed.

Google
I love this place!!! Amazing food and the employees are super friendly and make you feel at home. I've tried a variety of things in the menu and I have not been disappointed at all. My fave is the carnitas chimichanga. Flakey, crispy, with an unapologetic amount of meat on the inside and it's massive. The best I've ever had!! The flautas are thicker than I've normally had and are also fantastic. I've had about three or so more dishes that I've had and they are excellent but once you've tried the chimichangas, its extremely hard to try anything else. Xochi and Siry are the excellent staff on hand that make you feel so welcome. This has become a regular spot for me since about 5 months ago. The only occasional problem is if they get busy. A full house means wait times are a little long due to the few employees/servers available. The wait will always be worth it!

Google
… looking for AUTHENTIC ?? … this is it!! … enjoyed the warm chips & salsa starter before devouring the Carnitas Taco Platter & Enchiladas Suizas lunch plate. … super flavorful salsas too!! … don’t let the limited parking keep you away!!

Google
Best taco that I had in recent years. I had slow cooker pork, beef tongue, beef intestine, all are very delicious.

Yelp
Food was 5 star, flavor incredible, large portions server was excellent! Restaurant was very clean, owner took great pride.

Yelp
This spot is really great if you enjoy sitting at the bar and are not in a rush. I have had issues bringing a large group of people here and getting quick table service. I have also had some online orders take double the estimated time. Every time I sit at the bar I have a fantastic experience. My food comes out quickly, the drinks keep coming, and the staff is extremely kind and friendly. As a vegan I always get the vegetarian tacos without cheese and sour cream. Their rice and beans are vegan and their corn tortillas are vegan too. It's a great meal for the price and goes well with their spicy salsa.

Yelp
Stumbled across this very tucked away restaurant and my ch to my delight was a great experience! The food was well seasoned, cooked to perfection and the waitress was very accommodating as well as personable. My new go to whole in the wall!

Yelp
Second time I've been to Dulcinea. There were 6 of us. We had margaritas and beer. We suggested they change up their margarita and make it more sour and less sweet from sprite. We had tortillas, tacos and fajitas. All were good and well seasoned. Chips and salsa were good too. Friendly local place. Try it.

Yelp
This is a small little place off Gaither Road and next door to a storage facility. There is very little parking, however, hunting for a parking spot is worth it. My friend Carson has been talking about this place for quite awhile. Finally had a chance to go with him. We were greeted promptly. Plenty of seating cause we went for a late lunch. Complimentary chips and salsa to start. I could see myself wanting gallons of the salsa to take home. It's not spicy but it's flavorful. We started out with the queso. The chorizo was delish. A little salty for me but I still felt like I inhaled more than my share! I got the tacos combo. The pork in the al Pastor was very tender. Flavorful. It didn't have the sweetness I expected but very tasty. I managed to eat 2 of them cause I wanted to save room for dessert. Carson had the chicken enchiladas. They really piled it on the plate! Beans and rice, but looked like a full salad on top of the enchiladas. Carson barely made a dent before he had to get a box to take the rest home! Ordered the tres leches cake to go cause we were too full. I'm a sucker for tres leches and this one was good! Overall, a great meal. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Good food. Will definitely be back. Will probably order carryout for office too!

Yelp
Best salsa this side of Texas !!! Fresh chips. I got the fiesta mix and it was some of the best food I have ever had!! The service was quick and friendly. Also the manager came and introduced himself and I was blown away. Made sure our group was good with drinks and food. Only took about 20 min from order to delivery. One of the best places and authentic.

Yelp
Recently, I went to get my lunch at the KALETA restaurant,, and this one was my first time, is a Peruvian restaurant, having said that I am kind of picky with food and !! I was pretty satisfied with it was excellent. Anybody who it's going to read this review I'd tell you go there! that's why I put five stars! Lastly, I like to say to this guys kudos !! (The kitchen crew) Thanx! Tony E.

Yelp
This was a one-time stop as I normally don't travel in this area. I looked on Yelp for a place where I could get a couple tamales, a beer, and a shot of tequila. The staff was very friendly, the tamales were delicious, and so was the beer. There was a good selection of tequilas. I'm glad I stopped in for lunch!

Yelp
I found the place for my mole poblano cravings!!! Don't let its weird location and parking situation turn you off!!! Food: Chips and salsa dip - 5/5 - light, spicy delicious, and tastes fresh made. Rivals Guapo's chips and salsa and much superior than Uncle Julio's chips and salsa Mole Poblano - 5/5 - absolutely love this sweet, spicy, creamy, decadent dish! By far the best version of this dish that I have tasted around the DC area Carne Asada Arrachera - 5/5 - large hearty plate of grilled, salted steak with fried egg, plantains, rice and beans Enchiladas suizas - 4/5 - very good but not exceptional Taco al pastor - */5 - it turned out to be more like carnita or barbacoa, then proper al pastor style but still was good Aguas frescas (Horchata, Jamaica) - 5/5 Location: Maybe had to find because of its partly hidden, odd location, attached to the side of storage area Ambience: Looks like a Mexican desert beach-side restaurant stand mixed with some traditional elements Service: Super friendly and attentive, especially Sochi, a real sweetheart! She is a hostess, server and bartender. She stops by to check on you, quick pleasant chat. She even offers alternatives or even something on the house if it doesn't turn out as desired. She is one of the best types of individuals to work in service. *if you like tequila & grapefruit soda-juice, ask for the Paloma!

Yelp
The food here is horrible! Not authentic at all! Flavors terrible . It's gonna be a no for me! They also have me spoiled shrimp! Like wtf bad seafood has a distinct odor! There is no way they didn't smell it while they were cooking it. Everyone likes a strong drink from a bar right?! Sure not if u go here.

Yelp
It's a cute hole-in-the-war spot, great Authentic Mexican food. I love the Chorizo Quesadillas a lot (31.03.22)

Yelp
I'd be surprised if the original intention and use of this building was a restaurant. It's just so... kinda... odd. It almost feels like it could have been like a Car Rental place. You'll... know what I'm talking about when you visit. But you're like... oh... this a cozy? This place has caught my Yelper-vision for some time now. And I wanna say in the past year, I paid a visit on my own and I'm fairly certain a dove into their fajita platter. I vaguely remember that some of the proteins in the fajita platter were a little overcooked, and I thought to myself... I'm gonna give this place another shot. Well, we went back tonight and I had a pretty solid experience. Guacamole: Fresh, served in a molcajete; needs a little bit of salt and acid imo. We added a little fresh lime juice and table salt and it was devoured with gusto. Chili Con Carne: A cheese dip with chorizo. Definitely not spicy; I can assure you of this as Joy B tried it and she really enjoyed it. There's a flavor here I can put my finger on... but it was definitely enjoyable; I wish it was served a little hotter and was a little most cheesy. Grilled Chicken Salad (Marinated in Adobo Sauce) $9.99 "Herb marinated grilled chicken breast with lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, cucumbers, carrots, cilantro, black olives, corn, avocado and queso fresco" The good news. Everything was very fresh on the salad. You can tell all the vegetables were just cut, and they all were crisp and fresh. Wish there was a bit more queso fresco, and I also think that they could upgrade/ change some of their cuts on the veg to make it a bit more appealing. Let me try to explain myself here. Green Peppers: 1/4 inch Ring Cut Onions: Large 1/2 inch moon shaped chunks of onion Black Olives: Served whole ( I personally don't know why black olives exist... I think they should change this up, but to each their own) Corn: That was fine Carrots: Whole baby carrots Cilantro: Needed a bit more Avocado: Was great Cucumbers: Thicker 1/4 inch slices on the bias This is obviously being very nit picky... but it was just a little hard to eat with the very large chunks of veg. A really good salad is all about the cuts and freshness of the veg. They have the freshness down. Overall, I enjoyed it and it was a really good size for the price. The thing that really amazed me most... which was just a small forkful taste. My sister ordered a carnitas taco on the side. I had a half of a forkful of the meat from the taco just to try... and it was definitely one of the tastiest carnitas I've tried in a very long time. I will likely be back to this place before the end of the week to get some tacos. Service was EXCELLENT. I hope I spell this right: Xochtl was so nice. She was wonderful, patient, attentive without being overbearing. Also, when I called the restaurant to see if there was a wait, she was so sweet over the phone. Just an excellent person all around. Looking forward to going back. Those free chips and salsa are not gonna do my waistline any favors though.

Yelp
A late night craving for Mexican food brought me to the door of Dulcinea Bar and Grill. We started off with the complimentary chips and salsa. I was impressed that we got two kinds of salsa, one was less spicy. You know that was my favorite. Then, I discovered my new favorite appetizer,Chile con queso dip. Rich, creamy, full of cheese and beans whipped into a magical sensation. I was hooked. It was delightful and addicting. We also ordered guacamole, which was delicious, but needed a little salt and lime. Then, it was perfection! For our main dish, we ordered the grilled chicken salad. It was adobo grilled chicken over a bed of iceberg lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, and olives. The grilled chicken was very tasty and there was a huge portion. The ranch dressing was really a star. It was thick and full of ranch flavor. The portion size was huge and lasted me for more than one meal. The service was outstanding! Our waitress was exceptional and got us everything we needed in an instant. She was wonderful! I may have stumbled upon Dulcinea Bar and Grill with the recommendation of my son, Mike B. But, you can be assured that I will return to this hidden gem and get some great food.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, food is tasty. The only downside is the service. Been here twice and both times the service was slow and disorganized. We got hot queso and by the time they got our chips, the queso was cold. Both times I had to get up and grab napkins from the bar and had to ask for our food several times, they just forgot we were there. Would be a great spot if they sort the service issues.

Yelp
Wow what great food. The chips and salsa were great and seemed really fresh. Caution though the salsa is a little spicer than other places if you don't like spice. The tacos were exactly what I was looking for and the rice and beans tasted very authentic. We also ordered margaritas that were very tasty and strong! The staff was very friendly and the service was fast. Would definitely go back

Yelp

Yelp
For visits later I'm just place still gets five stars in my book. It's a small divey neighborhood joint that is short on fanciness yet long on excellent food, hospitality, and service - thank you Kate! Everything we had was fresh & delicious! Oh, and the Margaritas were really good too! Yes we will be back Everything the same as above, Love this place!!! Thanks Xoxhitl for the excellent service!!

Yelp
Roxana H. and I were craving Mexican food for lunch but we had a tight window to grab it so we utilized the Yelp app and Dulcinea Bar & Grill was the closest Mexican Restaurant to where we were. The GPS had a hard time locating this restaurant but we eventually found it on foot. It's basically located between Don Pollo and Cube Smart. The first thing I noticed about Dulcinea Bar & Grill is that it is handicap accessible. The interior is orange with colorful Mexican paper garlands. They have Happy Hour on the weekdays from 3-6pm that feature drink specials including $4 Beers, $6 Margaritas, $6 Wine by the Glass, $22 Bucket of 6 Beers, and $24 Pitcher of Margarita. I had the most delicious Camarones Al Ajillo, which consisted of flavorful marinated shrimp sautéed with onions and garlic in wine sauce served with around rice and with lime.

Yelp
We were looking for somewhere to eat while our kids were at a nearby birthday party. Sooooooo good! Got the plantains, mole poblano, and Al pastor tacos. Everything was amazing. Best plantains I've had in a really long time. The layers in taste & spice of the mole were perfection. And the tacos somehow beat them to be the best thing. Staff was friendly & attentive as well. 100% recommend this place and cannot wait to be return!

Yelp
Man oh man, I have been so behind on my yelp-ing! But during my yelp hiatus, I've gone to this restaurant twice, so you know its good. And both times, we ordered the exact same two things, so you know THOSE are good. The two things being the shrimp tacos and the vegetarian chimichanga. Both are absolutely delicious. The vegetarian chimichanga is also insane value - a huuuge fried burrito, stuffed with roasted (?) veggies and SO MUCH CHEESE, served with a mound of rice (delicious and garlicky) and beans. That rice is out of bounds. Like, next time I might just order two sides of rice and some pico de gallo and call it my meal. THAT'S how good that rice is. We're already looking forward to our next trip back here. I think half the reason we go to Home Depot is to swing by here after. So if Andy B., who likes food but isn't much of a foodie, is so excited to come back to a spot, it's gotta be pretty dang solid!

Yelp
Although a small tucked away spot, it's my go to for fresh Mexican food in the area. Great food and service. I posted the latest version of their menu. Xo, the waitress / bartender, is very friendly and makes the drinks delicious. All types of tequilas in stock and awesome margaritas! See the photo I posted of these beauties. Enjoy!

Hoa N.

Yelp
Since change the owner - food wasn't the same. Beef was so dry and hard to chew. I order beef tacos, told them I don't eat avocado and sour cream, I would like to get extra rice. Wasn't as what I asked for. Price is up which I dong mind but food and portion isn't good and less so does service

Yelp
This place is really the best. It's a total dive, the staff is absolutely lovely, and the food is wonderful. And my favorite part? All the beans, rice, chips, tortillas, and tamales are vegetarian. We've eaten here twice: the first time we got take-away and the second time we ate in the restaurant. The take-away experience was positive. We ordered on Yelp, picked it up from some very friendly staff, took it home, and stuffed our faces. My husband and I both ordered chimichangas (I had the veggie) and the poblano & cheese tamale appetizer. Everything was delicious, even though we had to wait for our almost half hour drive to eat it! The time we ate in the restaurant really cemented this as our new favorite joint. We were one of the only groups there because it was storming out and our waitress was so attentive and friendly and sweet. She offered suggestions and cooed over our toddler. We got to sample the chips & salsa, (yummy!,) and my husband ordered the taco plate while I went with the vegge & bean tostadas. We ordered our daughter the cheese quesadilla. Everything was wonderful and we are picky about Mexican because we grew up in Texas! If you stop by, expect an exceptional experience all around!

Yelp
I was having a craving for chimichangas and found Dulcinea Bar & Grill on Yelp. The reviews were glowing for their chimichangas and other offerings. So my wife and I decided to drop by. Never having been here before it was a bit hard to find the place at night. It believe the restaurant shares its parking with the other businesses, including the self storage facility. The food was great. The servings were large, more than I could eat in one sitting. I ordered the al pastor chimichanga and it hit the spot. It may have been a tad salty but overall great. The server was very nice and apologetic about the delay in getting our food out. She did offer us free soda to make up for the long wait on our food. We also devoured the salsa and chips. The interior is nice, cozy and intimate. However, that can be a problem if there are loud or rowdy people as the voices do carry is the small space. Overall I had a nice time and would definitely recommend this place, especially if you are looking for chimichangas.
google avatar

Yelp
We tried the chicken burrito and two tacos for takeout. Now the flavor was ok but the burrito was not tightly packed and falling apart. Lettuce, tomato everything was there but it felt lacking, like if you're looking for a good sitdown place I imagine Dulcinea would be really good but for takeout? The food felt fancy but could've been better prepared.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican in MD is a pleasant surprise however the dishes here weren't great. Service was very friendly though so it's unfortunate that I can only give them 3 stars based on food. The carne asada here isn't worth getting but I think the other proteins might be better. Skip the tres leches too unless you really love sugar. Carne Asada Dhimichanga: the beef had significant amount of connective tissue which was hard to chew - steak was pretty well done and on the drier side. It was topped with cheese and filled with cheese and lettuce. The salsa was unable to bring much freshness to the table. Overall, salty, heavy, and one-note. The rice and beans on the side weren't bad. The beans had real potential - I've had authentic Mexican food in central California where the beans are smooth and tender and taste like lard. These beans were flavorful but not quite tender and lacked the umami lard flavor. Tres Leches: authenticity does not always translate to deliciousness and this is a perfect example. This cake was tooth-achingly sweet and I know Mexican cuisine has a real sweet tooth. It was a thick, whipped buttercream that was low on the butter flavor and heavy on the sugar. The cake had a tough crumb which I believe is also somewhat typical of Mexican pastry. If the icing had been more whipped and less aggressively sweetened, and the cake was a bit finer and more delicate, I think this dessert would have been better. The milky dairy notes were present but overshadowed by the sheer amount of sweetness.

Yelp
Omg! Hole in the wall with amazing food. Huge portions. Everyone left full and happy and with to go boxes. My son got the horchata. It came in a mini pitcher. Enough for 2-3 people to share a glass. My boyfriends mother got the shrimp chalupa, it was hands down the best dish at the table.

Neal I.

Yelp
We got takeout for Cinco de Mayo. Chicken fajitas, rib eye chimichanga, guacamole and chips, camarones al ajillo. All delicious, huge portions. The place was hopping. I didn't have any, but the drinks looked great. Kind of a quiet/hidden location, but more of a hidden gem. Check it out!
google avatar

Dylan K.

Yelp
Total hole in the wall place with a rough parking situation, but it's kinda what makes it neat and almost like finding a hidden gem. However, the server (only one not in the kitchen) was super nice. The prices are great for the area and the food is great! They have excellent authentic chorizo. My wife and I both had quesadillas. The cheese was really good and creamy, the shell was cooked correctly, the steak I had was cooked perfectly. The most impressive part was the veggies and guacamole. Literally the freshest guacamole I've ever seen. Very impressed and will totally be back. Great spot for the many employees that work in the Shady Grove area for sure.

Deovrat B.

Yelp
Tasty food, fresh ingredients, affordable price range. The only turn off could be their location, but for me, doesn't matter as long as food is good. The staff is also friendly. In short, no complaints.

Semhal T.

Yelp
Ordered delivery from Dulcinea! Shrimp taco platter was fantastic, taquitos were great and churros stole the show! Two days later, leftover churros were still fantastic!!

Jasmine T.

Yelp
We placed an online order and went to pick it up and the restaurant was closed! We were very surprised because all the websites said it was open. We called and tried to contact them and they didn't answer. We were very disappointed they were accepting online orders and charged us ona a day they said they were open but were in fact not. Now we are dealing with our credit card company to contest the charge since each time I have called since the incident they say a manager is not available to speak with me to deal with the issue. Just, terribly disappointed.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday. It is a hole in a wall kind of place. The service was quick and polite. You do get a lot of food for what you order. I give 3 stars because the food quality was just ok. I ate a quesadilla and was not overly impressed. Most people i was with got the Santa Fe platter, it did look delicious but I ate some of it a few hours later. I guess I was expecting more but I am use to going to places like this one in California. Also the online menu had breakfast options but when we got there they did not have those breakfast options. I was really looking forward to some huevos rancheros. The ambiance like I said was a hole in the wall. The ambiance is cool I did enjoy it. I would come here again and try some tacos or burritos. I feel like my view was tainted because I did not get the huevos rancheros so I want to come here and try other food. The meat here is halal!
google avatar

Yelp
Simply amazing authentic Mexican food! The food was full of flavor and freshness. The table salsa was spicy- just like I love my water . (I'm a fan a spicy cuisine) The customer service was great. The dining area was intimate & they is bar space too.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Food would get 5 stars. Service is 1 star so meeting in the middle with 3 stars. Our waitress acted like we were doing her a disservice by being there. She never asked us how the food was, rolled her eyes when we asked for more tortilla chips and salsa, never brought the salsa even though we asked twice, and we were out of water the whole dinner. She was visibly impatient the entire time she was with us. It was my boyfriends moms birthday- so after eating an appetizer and dinners, we ordered a dessert for her and asked if they had candles. The woman said no we don't ...well yes we do. So we asked if We could have one. She hesitated and said "I guess" and walked away.

Mark L.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars to this restaurant, I would. we used to eat here often, then a few years ago it was closed by the board of health because of unsanitary conditions (ewwww). When it reopened, we were hesitant to return, but eventually did. Last night I ordered dinner online, paid for it, got my confirmation. When I arrived to pick it up I was informed that they weren't serving food, only the bar was open. Yet they still charged my card. We will not be back.

Yelp
Dulcinea Bar & Grill is located just passed Don Pollo on the right and the plaza with Five Guys, Nordstrom Rack, and Best Buy on the left. You'll see a banner with the restaurant's name waving in the air, but the restaurant itself is located one driveway after you see the signage. Parking is a pain/scare with just five parallel stalls in front of the restaurant. Try to park in the first or last stall as I've seen a couple customers have a hard time getting in/out of the stalls. The restaurant itself is somewhat small with minimal decor. There is a bar up front with a few low tops and seats along the bar as well. The main dining area is in the back with several tables. Service was friendly with our waitress explaining the menu to us and not rushing us to order. However, if you are in a rush, I'd let the waitress know as things are pretty relaxed here. Chips and salsa held us over while waiting for our entrees. The salsas were okay, with preference for the green over the red. For my meal, I decided on the carne asada chimichanga. The chimichanga was huge so I'm glad we didn't order an appetizer as well. It was fried nicely and packed with carne asada, onions, peppers, and cheese. The carne asada had nice flavor to it, but could have been cooked a little less longer as some pieces were tough. The rice and beans served on the side were just okay. Overall a solid dish that I really enjoyed. I also tried the pastor taco and liked it as well. It had good flavor and although not piled with meat, I wouldn't complain about the amount given. I think the only miss of the evening was the margarita served on the rocks. No drink menu was available so I figured I'd order a margarita. In spite of only ordering one margarita, the waitress brought us out two. Instead of saying something, I decided to keep it because I figured I'd order another anyhow. Big mistake! The margarita had way too much triple sec and I could barely taste any tequila. Tried the other and it was the same thing...too much triple sec. One margarita essentially went untouched. I hate to waste alcohol, but in this case, I had to. When you are ready to pay, an Ipad is brought to your table so you don't receive a printed receipt. Didn't get a chance to verify if the cost was correct, but I figured it was. Next time I'll definitely make sure to verify. Overall a solid place for Tex-Mex in the area.

Yelp
Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life . Ordered , got the wrong food . Called, asked to speak with a manger . They replied their aren't any . Laughed and hung up . I tried calling their second location trying to contact some sort of leadership . I got the same attitude there. The food was horrible. I ordered tacos and got tortilla mistake something .

Yelp
Okay this place is pretty freaking awesome!! It is a divey hole in a wall type place but oh man the food is phenomenal!!! The service is friendly and good. I complained about another place in the Potomac being expensive and I paid more and was not all that... Well! This place I got more food for less cost and it's not fast casual and the food is 100x better!! We have been here at least three times and it DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!! The green salsa is delicious and unique and then their regular salsa is delicious too. The steak nachos are a must every time, every bite is seriously delicious. The meats I have had are good (chicken, el pastor, steak and shrimp). They know how do shrimp, so flavorful but not overcooked!

Yelp
Went to Dulcinea's for lunch on a Friday. First, we drove right past it because it is a side entrance on a large building. Please drive slow when you hit Gaither Rd or you will pass it too. Second, we couldn't find parking because of the construction next door. Please watch out! Every space has a name of a tenant, so don't get towed. Thirdly, as I mentioned, it is a side main entrance, but with steps to the door, so there is no handicap/ADA access. There is also a big step down into the dining room. That being said, it was worth finding! We were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. There is a bar facing the door, dining is to the right. Watch your step. Were served water and soft drinks within minutes; order took about 15-20 minutes to prepare. My office pal ordered shrimp tacos in flour tortillas. She said they were the best (tasty) she every had. I had the Chimichangas with carnitas. My entree Included beans and white rice. Best C-C I ever had- loaded with melted cheese! Meat was mild spicy and tender. Beans were mildly spicy and very tasty (what's in the sauce?) Portions were significant. Now that i know exactly where it is, I'm sure to return soon!

Yelp
This place is amazing! Friendly staff, good service, and delicious food! We have gone back multiple times and it never disappoints. I will say it is an odd location but don't be turned off by that it's so worth it!

Yelp
What a great find. Joel is so inviting. Katie is an awesome server and loves job. This place is down the road past Don Pollo on Gaithers Rd. Feels like I'm at the beach. Amazing green salsa. Great margaritas. Feels like family. You must check this place out. We sat at the bar. The Olympics were on 3 tv's. Joel's wife is Turkish. They do catering and based on the tacos we had, and by the way, better than the Rio Taco Bar, I bet the catering rocks. Kabobs and tacos for catering. All Mexicano at the bar. Decent tequila in the margaritas. Highly recommend and a great place to have a party. So nice here. Come join us at the bar!

Yelp
My husband says the chimichanga is the best thing he's ever eaten and he could eat it every single day. My food was pretty amazing too. We are really excited about this new restauraunt. We started out with the pork tamales and they were great. They were flavorful and a little spicy and came with really flavorful beans and guacomole. My husband got an al pastor chimichanga that was out of the world. It was cheesy and gooey and the meat was perfect. I got the steak flautas. Everything was delicious. We also liked the two different salsas. The rice and beans that came with our entrees were tasty. I could eat those beans all of the time. The restauraunt was clean and service was fast. Joel did an awesome job as our server and as more people came in he stayed cheerful and he did a great job managing lots of tables. He was really friendly and you could tell he was proud of the restauraunt which I love to see. We are already planning our next visit. I want to try the chicken mole and the tortas!

Yelp
Talk about a hidden gem in Gaithersburg!!! Service on a 4th of July holiday was impeccable. The chips and salsa are awesome. The margarita was great, not to sweet! The ground beef enchiladas, out of this world!!! We will be back!!!!

Yelp
I had the al Pastor Chimichangas which most of the people recommended, the guacamole, and barbacoa taco. The Chimichangas is too heavy for me and my mom, but we both love the tacos and guacamole, very fresh and delicious!

Yelp
There's no other way to put it; this is the best Mexican spot in Gaithersburg. And Germantown. And Rockville. Even their salsa and chips is better than some meals at other places. I am not exaggerating.

Yelp
I've ordered from here a few times, both takeout and delivery. Be warned, it's a somewhat difficult place to visit, given its odd location. I've had a few different dishes, the most recent being the Enchiladas Suizas. Enchiladas were very tasty and a decent amount of heat (spice). These come with rice and beans on the side. Rice is fluffy, but not Spanish rice; it's similar to jasmine rice I would normally get at a Mediterranean restaurant, which I really like. This is a great little hole-in-the-wall for Mexican style food. I haven't eaten in the restaurant itself, but it looks cozy and the staff has always been very friendly when I do takeout.

Yelp
Delicious, affordable, quiet atmosphere. First time I came, the chorizo bowl was too salty, but I have been back and tried other dishes, and the food is very good, and I like the unassuming atmosphere.

Yelp
This little gem is tucked away in an unsuspected location but is certainly worth the hunt to find them! My server, Xochitl (pronounced SOchi) is so very friendly and personable. The twinkle in her eye as she chats with you about her favorite dishes and life in the United States is inspiring and contagious! The food is amazing! Fresh cheeses make the dishes all that more special. The presentation is beautiful. And the serving sizes...I had enough to take home for a second meal of this deliciousness! I highly recommend the Chicken Chimichanga. The meat is tender and juicy. Their rice is amazing as well. I just returned from the Southwest United States and all through Arizona, Southern California, and Nevada (eating Mexican foods throughout) but could not wait to stop at Dulcinea Bar and Grill on my way home from the airport. I highly recommend this place!
