Dumont NYC, an Affinia Hotel

Staff is very nice. We have a sweet on the 22 floor. Room is cleaned well but not the best in terms of maintenance. Frig hums, heater is a little noisy. One line is burned out and the bathroom needs some touching up. One thing though, the view is amazing! WE have a corner room, and my goodness, it is awesome. The location of the hotel is nice. Quick access to the green line. I would stay again. I gave it 3 stars because u think the room needs more work. It is a nice suite for the price, but for the price, the simple things, that are cosmetic, leave no room for excuse.

This is such a sweet spot with world class customer service. I have stayed at 4 Seasons Hotels and this Hotel did it better. The location in midtown is very centrally located and small, ethnic restaurants are chock a block on 9th Avenue. You enter into an inviting lobby(especially on a wintry night with a fire blazing in the fireplace), which is the place for the free breakfast and a generous wine/alcohol/cheese & crackers happy hour. My room was serene, quiet and clean. The bath is large and also very clean. The BEST thing about the place is the customer service. I felt so welcomed and catered to. SUSAN and her wonderful staff are so accommodating and full of suggestions. There were great restaurant recommendations, news about museum exhibits as well as discounts for Broadway plays. This is an awesome hotel, deserving of the praise they have been given.

This is a great hotel, and was the least expensive hotel I could find of comparable star rating in that neighborhood. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Room was twice the size I expected, plus full kitchen. Mini-bar was very well stocked and reasonably priced. Everything was immaculately clean. Bed was very comfortable. Large desk with real task chair makes for a great place to get some work done. I will definitely return to the Affinia Dumont.

I stayed at this lovely property for one night before an early flight out of JFK. It's so much nicer than the hotels that are right outside of the airport. I definitely prefer the 30 min ride to a sub-par hotel. We had a lovely suite which was incredibly spacious. The front desk staff and bellman were very kind and courteous. I was disappointed in the resort fee but the room credit made me feel a bit better. There are several bars and restaurants within a block of this hotel and a dog park next door. I will definitely be back.

So far so good, we have stayed two nights and after and initial bit of confusion we got to try out to rooms one of the newly renovated lower floors and a non renavated higher floor. The lower levels are beautiful, but we could clearly hear most things that were going on at street level, the higher level units did show there age but were still sufficient and nice enough for us to decide to stay in these rooms. The staff are friendly and great. If anything changes over the next two weeks I will update this post but so far this place seems great.

I stayed here for my birthday this past Saturday night in the 1 bedroom suite. It was everything I wanted! I got my request for a corner room and surprisingly the room was even bigger than the pictures. Aside from one female daytime concierge who seemed to be on an unnecessary power trip...the rest of the staff was so polite and courteous! We were greeted with a complimentary glass of wine before heading to the room and even the late night doorman was so friendly and chatty when we got back to the hotel after my celebration. The bed was super comfortable and everything worked just fine. This was definitely one of the best hotel stays (especially at such a great price) that I've had and I will definitely be returning. Maybe Valentine's Day?

I stayed there on Dec 26th, pretty expensive time of the year. However I got a great deal. Got 2 Queen bed apartment style room with a kitchen and the regular amenities. Kitchen comes with enough kitchenettes for 1 stay. Checking in was smooth. Location was awesome, 2 blocks away from the Empire state. I had guests from Canada and they were very impressed!

Absolutely Fantastic!!! After much searching we are so glad we chose the Affinia Dumont for our hotel. Large room with double queen size beds, full kitchen, and large mirrors/closet area. Bathroom is large and separated which makes it a perfect stay for a group of 3 or 4 in one room. Excellent location too. :-) with absolutely return!
