The service was wonderful. The food was okay. I love me a good dumpling. It's great how the dough holds such great flavors. These guys have good dough but the flavors inside simply weren't great. The rice wasn't even very sticky. Overall the food was pretty disappointing but the sweet chili sauce was pretty good. There's no reason for me to return when there's better food elsewhere.

Dump city is THE best spot to have a nice meal and quality service. the sticky rice is absolutely amazing and the menu is full of yummy things. Best dumplings ive had in my entire life. And if you write a review you get $5 off your next order 😏

I’ve been going to dump city ever since they were a cart downtown on the corner, I have always loved them and followed them to their new locations. I don’t go as often as I used to however I feel like the customer service has steadily decreased over the years. We ordered 2 cheese dumplings, 2 orders of the special mini meat supreme dumplings, and the artichoke spinach wontons. The guy who took our order was quite rude while speaking to me, didn’t ask us for here or to go and then said “15-20 minutes”. We sat outside and waited 20 minutes before a different gal came out and asked what we had ordered, we were a bit confused since I had already been charged $40 so they should have our order somewhere, but proceeded to tell her again. We waited another 25 minutes for our order and it ended up being incorrect, we got all regular cheese dumplings. Disappointing because we were excited to try the other ones :( They did throw in 2 extra minis as a consolation and the guy who brought out our order was a different server then the other two and was kind, it was just a not so great experience overall.

Google
First time visit. Had to stop in for dinner since Guy Fieri stopped by for DDD! This place serves up some tasty dumplings for sure. We shared 3 dumplings, the 4 cheese pizza, the pad Thai, and the Chinese Pork. Amazing texture and flavors! The side dipping sauces were amazing as well. Our favorite was the Cilantro Peanut. We also had the Pinapple Coconut Sticky Rice. OMG! The restaurant was very clean and the guy at the counter was very helpful. We will back on our next trip to Bend!

Tried Dump city dumplings at the James Taylor concert for the first time. I dont understand the hype. I was completely expecting to blown away. I wasn’t I ate the pizza one because I was hungry but there wasn’t a decent sauce to go with it. I tried a bite of the pork but there was a seasoning in that was just overpowering the other flavors.

Somehow it seemed fitting that it was snowing during our visit to “Dump City Dumplings.” While it may not have been snowing enough to say that it was “dumping” outside, it sure did add to the ambience of our meal. In my estimation, there are likely two schools of thought when it comes to dumplings. I think you’ve got the “I’m all about the dumplings!” person and the “Ok, I’ll try dumplings once” person. If you are of the latter ilk and are still riding the fence on this one, please know that while dumplings are featured here, there are other options available (including Vegan choices). For example, I sampled the Roujiamo Pork Bowl and Cucumber Salad and they were both outstanding. Also know that introducing your little ones to the dumpling experience is easier than you think given the selections featured on their kid’s menu. If you do choose to sample their dumplings (and you should!) you have to consider their dessert dumpling (filled with strawberry jam that you then dip in a lovely coconut sauce). While perhaps not for everyone (and I admit to being hesitant at first), it was by far my favorite of the dumplings that I sampled. By the power vested in me, I hereby proclaim 2023 “The Year of the Dumpling!” 🥟 And that’s…Henry’s Take. #dumpcity #dumplinglove

I suppose I can be picky when it comes to Asian fusion food; sadly, I become easily disappointed when authenticity is lost. So for me personally, the dumplings here aren't my favorite, but I see the appeal in this place due to their creative offerings and a cool atmosphere very representative of Bend. In addition, they do well at what they do. They're not misrepresenting themselves as you can see by their funny name. They put a good amount of ginger in the pork wontons, but there isn't a huge amount of other Asian flavor in them. The wrappings feel a bit thicker and blander than in Asian restaurants. They have a tasty regular size pork bao although it also doesn't taste like what I am accustomed to. My partner enjoys the dumplings a lot. I'm glad they have mini dessert dumplings that are unique and tasty, which I did enjoy. Service is nice and fast, and the place is clean and fun.

Google
Love this classic Bend spot for excellent and iconic dumplings. Had the artichoke and jalapeño wonton with the most delicious ranch dressing. Highly recommend! Of course you can’t go wrong with the classics like cheese, pizza or pad Thai dumplings either. 10 out of 10!

Yelp
I didn't get pictures of all our food :( Overall it was fresh, good, & unique. We really like the nachos and stemmed mushroom wontons. My son liked the pizza dumplings, but was hoping they'd be stuffed with pepperonis :) too. It's a fun lil place!

Jessie E.

Yelp
The staff was super nice but the pad Thai dumpling was really terrible. The pork dumpling filling was a bit better, although the dough was not great. One of the dumplings was visibly shriveled and tough on the outside, and they still served it. The spring rolls and mushroom lemongrass wontons were underwhelming and bland. The sauces were also not good. Everything kind of tasted like it had the same sauce used to cook it. I wanted to like the food, and can generally eat anything if I'm hungry enough, but we could not finish.

Lori S.

Yelp
Dumplings are a must try. Love the fresh dipping sauces and their expanded menu has some tasty side dishes to share such as tofu, crispy chicken. Guy Fieri autographed pictures celebrating his visit at Dump City recognizing this small quaint restaurant with friendly service is a must try when in Bend. Love visiting their food truck up on Mt Bachelor during the winter season as well.

Jill D.

Yelp
First experience with Dumplings, big disappointment. They were warm at best & very very doughy. gave mine to my daughter who said yes way under cooked. The pizza dumpling was only a piece of cheese inside, not much flavor. Atmosphere was an older building, dark small and we froze inside. It was a later lunch so I think employees didn't take too much stock into customer service.

Yelp
Please don't get me wrong, I enjoyed everything about Dump City except the dumplings. I guess I was a dumpling novice and was not prepared for the experience but gave it my best shot. YELP Short Answer: YES it is awesome if you are familiar with and enjoy this type of dough-centric food. Location: Parking, well it totally sucks but welcome to the Galveston neighborhood and parking wars. Aside form that, their new fun location with lots to do all around is sure to be a hit for years to come. Sure trendy hot spot at the moment and busy so pick your times. Buildout: Nicely done very youthful music and a good vibe all around. Seating space indoors and out with takeout as a large part of their plan. Menu: Easy and fun, Host is happy to answer menu questions and very enthusiastic about their menu and company. Simple menu but ask, they say 3-5 dumplings will be a meal for one human, I'd say one and some sides. They have beers and ciders as well. Food Prep: Nicely done to eat there or take out. Dumplings are plopped on a dish naked but that is just fine, it's a dumpling shop so you get no frills. Food Quality: Seemed perfectly cook but missing in overall taste, texture, and enjoyment for me. Ordered Special Risotto, Pork and Pad Thai to try them all and it was hard to really get the flavor out of any of them as the ginormous amount of dumpling dough was overwhelming. I felt stuffed after just one but tasted them all. Also ordered cucumber salad and sticky rice both of which were excellent and I would suggest if you're not sure on the whole dumpling experience to just order sides and one dumpling to share. You can always order more if you find it to be your thing. They also have rice bowls which I may try at some point yet they seemed a little expensive so will read up on them. Waitstaff: Does not get much better, everyone was fun and happy to be there. It takes a while to get your food so have a beer and chill and don't be in a hurry. You can order, go buy some pot across the street, shop for furniture, buy a lottery ticket at 7/11 and your food should be about ready. These dumpling are made to order so it takes some time. Value: Yes for sure, fair pricing and if you know your dumplings I am sure it is a great value. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Excellent but I felt like I needed a stomach expander for the rest of the day, I wound not order a dumpling again but enjoyed myself.

Yelp
After seeing this restaurant on Diners, Drive ins & Dives, I had it on my list to visit next time I was in Bend. My friends and I decided we would check it out for lunch and we were not disappointed. The three dumplings I ordered were flavorful and soft, my favorite was the Chinese pork. The sweet chili cilantro garlic sauce was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. We even loved the ooey gooey jem dessert dumpling! I loved the large selection of beer on draft and also thought it was cool that they have their dumplings on display in a fridge for easy take home.

Kelly Y.

Yelp
The parking lot sneaks up on you so start slowing as you approach otherwise you'll miss it. The food was not as spectacular as Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives led you to believe on its show. Oddly one of the first Triple D locations we've visited that wasn't up to the hype. The dumplings were very doughy; if you're into that, go for it.

Gabrielle B.

Yelp
These dumplings are the most delicious, satisfying dough balls full of goodness that I have ever had. They have 3 main flavors but the most popular are definitely the cheese & the pad Thai. The pad Thai is full of the rice noodles, veggies, soft tofu and a yummy peanut sauce. It is every vegan/vegetarian's dream! Dipped in the coconut lime sauce adds another element of flavor similar to squeezing lime on the traditional dish. They're hot, soft, gooey, affordable and a perfect little snack for any occasion! The staff is so chill and one guy hooked it up with a bonus dumping!!! The music is bumping and the vibes are all there. I've been visiting town this week and already had dumplings on 2 different occasions...munch n music and out downtown after partying. At one point I came back for another back to back because I just couldn't get enough. If you haven't had dump city dumplings, you haven't had dumplings!

Amanda W.

Yelp
It's a fun quirky kind of place. They have a nice assortment of dumplings and a lot of beers to chose from. You can only get dumplings here though. It would be nice if they had a couple side dishes offered. Their pizza dumpling was the best one. Staff is nice.

Le Alta V.

Yelp
The dim sum menu is not what you need it to be unfortunately! We were disappointed!! Maybe they need to get some pointers from other Chinese restaurants

Allyson P.

Yelp
Definitely not traditional dumplings! I placed an online order for some of the Chinese style pork dumplings. I was really just craving dumplings so I didn't try anything else. They were ready pretty quickly and the cashier was super nice and directed me towards the sauce station where I was surprised to find ranch, a watery sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, and another 1 or 2 that seemed strange to have with this type of food but I can't remember what they were. I went for the sweet chili and the soy and headed out. I was shocked when I opened the container and saw the HUGE dumplings inside! I should have looked through the Yelp photos before ordering so that's on me, but they were the most massive dumplings I've ever seen and they look like they were maybe grilled or baked? They didn't seem steamed to me, which is how dumplings are usually made. The dough is thin and dry and reminded me of pizza dough. I really wasn't fond of either sauce. Now, if I had wanted Chinese pork pizza bites, I would have been very happy but that wasn't the case. I also don't think "dim sum" should be a tagged descriptor because honestly nothing on the menu is dim sum.

Susan J.

Yelp
Such a fun place to visit in bend. The pad Thai dumpling was probably my most favorite of them all. Great selection of taps and awesome sauce selection for dipping. Totally check this spot out!

Andrew N.

Yelp
I wasn't as good as I had hoped. It was a bit chaotic, the food was a bit bland, and was a bit overpriced.

M. G.

Yelp
Food was great, service was friendly and ambiance outside was nice. Loved the dog friendly outdoor space to eat our food and the rest room was clean. We ordered the cucumber salad, chicken teriyaki plate and Chinese dumplings and they were all very good! Would eat here again.

David A.

Yelp
Best dumplings in Bend!!! Cozy restaurant with awesome staff, very helpful and friendly.

Yelp
Dump City Dumplings in Bend, Oregon, is an absolute gem! The staff's warmth and attentiveness create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. The menu offers a delightful variety of dumplings, each bursting with unique flavors and perfectly cooked. From the first bite to the last, the culinary expertise is evident. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Dump City Dumplings is a must-visit. Exceptional service, delicious food--five stars all the way!

Shirley T.

Yelp
The food is DELICIOUS. I love the grilled chicken plate. Kids loved the cheese Dumplings. Very clean. They had outside seating with an adorable dog named Bubbles with a bowtie on Tons of beer and beverage selection. (Lots of non alcoholic options) Staff was exceptionally helpful and pleasant. I'll be back for sure.

Tran N.

Yelp
Ordered 4 "dumplings", pop corn chicken, crab Rangoon, and sticky rice with mango. The only thing that wasn't too disappointing was the sticky rice with mango. Parking was easy to miss. The food was subpar and the dumplings tasted putrid. Overpriced and definitely tailored to the locals of Bend. Not worth the disappointment. The quality to price ratio is trash.

Sabrina C.

Yelp
Woohoo!!! Thanks to a late night episode of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives + one super adventurous hubby...we made it to dumpling Mecca. The Pad Thai dumplings were perfect. I also had the daily special, Kalua Pulled Pork. YUM! My vegan husband also enjoyed the Curry Bowl. Totally worth the visit!

Molly H.

Yelp
Should be called Bao City. Not what we expected. We tried everything on the menu and weren't impressed. Dumplings were very doughy, fillings were bland and dry. Service was okay.

Owen S.

Yelp
You can't visit bend without stopping by dump city dumplings! And if you live in town then you probably already know! Quality ingredients and lots of love goes into this food. Great employees and service. The new location is great and super comfortable. The new menu has some yummy options and their sticky rice is the best! Thanks Dump City

Melody H.

Yelp
I saw this restaurant featured on diners, drive-ins and dives, and made note to visit it next time I was in that area. Everything on the menu looked delicious and our table ordered $90 worth of dumplings, salads and bites. The first item I tried was the cucumber salad, we actually had ordered two. It was so salty that my tongue and mouth were tingling like they had been quick pickled--and to be clear, I am a person who loves salt. I tried the green salad that was made with very fresh ingredients that looked appealing, but it was covered in the same overly salty dressing that was inedible. I had the wontons, which were just OK, and dumplings in the miso broth, which again was extremely salty. We had the Pad Thai dumplings, and the mushroom Kung Pao dumplings. The pad Thai dumplings, had a sticky purple filling that was nothing like pad Thai. The Kung Pao dumplings had mushrooms with waterlogged peanuts inside that were disgusting. I Literally could not even choke it down. I've never had an experience like this, especially on a restaurant featured on triple D, but, I left, shaking my head at the whole experience.

Green H.

Yelp
Tasty dumplings and sauces. Love the great beverage selection. The grapefruit kombucha was excellent

Brian H.

Yelp
First time eating here. Very friendly service. We ordered the teriyaki chicken, cheeseburger dumpling special, pork dumpling and pad Thai dumpling. We tried the 3 sauces with the peanut sauce being our favorite. Everything was very tasty. Definitely going back.

Amelia W.

Yelp
Ordered Thai and Chinese dumplings to eat before going to the movies. Very delicious. Great prices! recommend!

Ellen F.

Yelp
BAO BUNS, not dumplings. Maybe it was my lack of research, but I just assumed with the name "dumpling", it would be more like Chinese dim sum. Definitely just bao buns with different fillings. Such a cool concept, even with flavors and combinations, but really poor execution. The fillings were all bland. Dipping sauces and pork bowl were the best things we got. They also offered a pineapple sticky rice dish that was pretty good. So disappointed since this place was on DDD!

Henry S.

Yelp
Food is such a personal experience, especially when it's food that is directly from my culture or inspired by it. I know this place was featured on some food travel show. I'm not dissuading anyone from visiting. Speaking purely from my personal subjective experience, it didn't work for me. I'm not suggesting that the food was inedible or bad, it just didn't work for me.

Brylan B.

Yelp
Where do I even start? First things first let's talk about customer service. The staff were dressed like a bunch of skaters (marijuana users) which is always a bad sign. How can I trust somebody who is high on marijuana with my food? That's beside the point, they were very nice to me and my boyfriend. Secondly, the food was VERY pricy, I mean VERY pricy, and I don't use that word lightly. They are charging an arm and a leg for some doughy balls with cheese, which aren't expensive to make. Trust me, I know, I own a restaurant, I get how this works. Anyway, food was exceptional, if we're talking dumplings in Bend, this is your spot. I'd like to finish this off by talking about the location. It is located on Galveston on the west side, this is a nice part of town but I did notice a couple transients loitering nearby. This isn't a big deal but it's something I feel I needed to note. Over all, Dump City Dumplings is a delightful place and I will not be going back. Thanks for ready my yelp review. Yelp
So I had the chance to try these dumplings at the amphitheater during a concert. I wanted to try a variety, so I ordered a cheese, Chinese pork and pad Thai bun. The dough is soft and chewier than I'm used to which is fine but I didn't care for the fillings. The cheese one is ok but just cheese inside and kinda spills out if you don't hold it carefully. The pork def isn't the Chinese bbq pork many are used to, nor is it the pork/cabbage variety. I'm not sure if it's a little strong in five spice. Now onto the pad Thai bun, I found it to be a bit mushy but has pad Thai like flavors. I think I'd rather just order pad Thai somewhere so the noodles aren't overdone. I can't remember the dipping sauces I chose. I think if you're looking for a quick snack or small lunch, feel free to drop by but I just didn't care for the flavors I chose. Don't be looking for authentic as it's a fun take on buns. The dough is different too.

Kelsey B.

Yelp
Delicious food, nice atmosphere and great beer options. I highly recommend trying one of their rice bowls.

Edward L.

Yelp
They are OK. I don't know why I keep on follow Guy's places on DDD. I always am disappointed, but TV makes it look sooooooooooooo good! I know, 1st world problems IRL.

Casey T.

Yelp
Great food n great service n great flavor dumplings that will have you want to try more n fall in love with quality of what they make at this amazing delicious restaurant.

Andrea B.

Yelp
Like new, larger menu! Food very good. Staff knowledgeable! One of my favorite casual places!

Kimberly N.

Yelp
We stopped by here based the reviews and it didn't disappoint! Reasonably priced, delicious and unique dumplings that really hit the spot on a rainy day. We only had two Pad Thai ($3/each) and two The Forager (a special with mushrooms, toasted walnuts, goat cheese, and arugula) ($4/each) dumplings as a mid-afternoon snack to go. The guy behind the counter said not to forget their special house-made sauces and I'm so glad he did! I grabbed some coconut peanut butter sauce, a hot sauce, and an italian-style sauce, and they really made the dumplings over-the-top yummy. Other items look delish, like their mango sticky rice, so I hope to get back here someday!

Austin K.

Yelp
I'm a no. I took one bite and decided I'd eat dinner at home. The kids loved it. I hate counter service. I will not come back and bus my own table. I don't want an argumentative counter clerk. I hate sticky floors and tables and bathrooms that are closets with cleaning supplies and no changing table. 3 stars is because my kids liked it but I would have given 1 if it were an option. Guy Fieri can kiss my.....

Lehrie H.

Yelp
Not sure what type of food they are serving but it's not Asian and IMO not worth the price.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Tasty but different than what you imagine when you think of dumplings. Pad thai dumpling was our highlight.

Web M.

Yelp
Excellent service and excellent quality food. I highly recommend Dump City Dumplings.

Dan R.

Yelp
The name says it all. So underwhelming and disappointing. Shriveled, flaccid and tasteless. Was really excited to try this place especially given how highly regarded they make themselves seem. Also, the beer list is extensive, which might seem impressive, but many are very old and probably expired.

A C.

Yelp
We are dumplings from the food truck at Mt. Bachelor. Both the pork and vegetarian were great. Loved the sauces.

Al O.

Yelp
Good food, However...if you're looking for chinese dumplings, don't go here. The food is flavorful and savory. But it is not chinese dumplings. It is americanized dumplings. Not at all mandarin. Bottom line, good tasting food but certainly not mandarin dumplings.

Erin M.

Yelp
Yum!!! This is a great cheap eats place. For $8 you can get a couple of dumplings to satisfy your hunger. They have 3 sauces you can put on your dumplings as well. The pad Thai dumpling is delicious with the peanut sauce. Make sure to try to dessert dumpling. Most beers are only $5 for a pint too. The online menu prices are not accurate and the prices have increased recently.

Patty W.

Yelp
For me it's a NO ! Sorry but my husband and I had 6 dumplings between us and neither of us found the quality worth finishing. My Pad Thai had a really overpowering spice in it that made it unpleasant. The BBQ pork was ok but also flavor a bit odd. The other really disappointing part of the experience is the dumplings were thick and doughy. Not at all like a good Chinese dumpling. The place has a cool Bend vibe so we were fine with that. I think they need to keep working on their flavor profiles for each filling and certainly on the dumpling itself. We will wait a few months to before we go back because if they get it right then we will happily give them our business.

John M.

Yelp
Well... I usually can find something to say. This was not authentic and was not great. The staff were friendly and that's all I can say.

Gretchen G.

Yelp
Delicious dumplings. We will be back. Want to try a bowl. Bought a bottle of one of their sauces to use with shrimp bowls at home.

Alfred S.

Yelp
Sorry, wish you best of luck in your new location but the dumplings were not even close to Chinese Dumplings. Bizarre unpleasant flavors. My wife's rice bowl was even worse. Too long a wait. Still very food truckie!

Doug H.

Yelp
I feel bad giving a one star review. This restaurant provides jobs and I think negative reviews negatively affect their business and consequently the prosperity of the employees (and owners). But, I have to say that the food at Dump City Dumpling is not worth buying. Before our visit to Bend, my wife and I learned that this restaurant had been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. We decided to try it out even though they did not serve Xiao Long Bao (chinese soup dumpling)- one of our favorite foods. But, there were good reviews of their Pad Thai dumpling. We tried the "Pad Thai", "Chinese Style" and a daily special "Cordon Bleu". The Pad Thai dumpling was the worst- the filling was a purple mush with no flavor. The Chinese Style dumpling did have some flavor but it was not good. The Cordon Bleu dumpling was the best but was only mediocre. The supplied sauces did not do much to improve the flavor.

Micah K.

Yelp
Late night Cravings? Need something delicious to shove into your face? Well boy-o is this the place for you. Easily found in Downtown Bend, or a plethora of Music Festivals this place has sustained me for years. My fondest memories definitely come from WTF (what the festival). Where these bandits would ensure that I survived those long nights on the high plateau. My favorite is the Pad Thai dump with extra peanut sauce. Being a heathen I would typically just put the nozzle of the squirt bottle into the dumpling and squeeze that deliciousness all inside until nice and plump (not sure if this is typical, but It makes it easier to eat on the go.) I can't wait for more late night rendezvous with the dump city crew. Eat More Dumplings.

Kayla A.

Yelp
Amazing dumplings! Tried every single one and is worth every penny. The beef stew is a special but needs to be on the menu permanently (it's the best!). Get it before it's gone!
