The Best New Restaurants in Denver Right Now, Spring 2025 | Eater Denver

"Though in some ways it resembles his much-missed restaurant Bones, this quirky little nook for Italian-Asian fusion from chef Frank Bonanno still comes as a surprise. Shrimp scampi dumplings? Bao stuffed with sausage and peppers? Cacio e pepe in ramen form? Thai tea-flavored cannoli? It’s all exciting and it’s all quite charming paired with a carafe of house-infused lemongrass sake." - Ruth Tobias

Our dining experience at Dumplin' was truly exceptional. The food was inventive and delicious, and the service was outstanding. A huge thank you to Jeff, the General Manager, who ensured we had an impeccable experience. His professionalism and warmth made the night perfect! 🙏 The Gua Smash cocktail (with watermelon, tequila, and blooming basil seeds) was a refreshing hit! 🍹🍉 What We Ordered: • Hamachi Crudo • Baked Mussels and Scallops • Wagyu Black Truffle Pan Dried Dumplings • Bao Bun Flight • Scorched S'more Sundae

I brought a vegetarian friend here to try the meatless options, and the menu did not disappoint! We had plenty to choose from, and several items can also easily be made vegetarian. The Japanese/Italian fusion concept is really fun, and the GM Jeff has amazing energy and recommendations. In particular, try the the whipped tofu, cucumber salad, $1 mushroom/mascarpone pan-friend dumplings, flaming s’mores dessert, and house-made sake. The yakisoba (sans bacon) is also a standout, but I was so full at that point that I’ll need to go back to fully enjoy it. It’s a small place, so make a reservation and enjoy!

Yummy! What an interesting fusion—Asian and Italian…but it works! I HIGHLY recommend the Cacio e Pepe Ramen—simply, WOW. You can tell the ramen noodles are homemade, they’re spectacular. The Yakisoba (strong mushroom flavor-yum!) and Wagyu dumplings were fantastic too, but my fave was by far the Cacio e Pepe. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. They really went above and beyond. A little pricy and portions are on the smaller side, but the food is rich, unique, and bursting with flavor. Atmosphere is cozy, with a strong artsy vibe. I didn’t get the veggie options for all the food as I was sharing the food with my parents. But they have plenty of vegetarian options! (Unsure about vegan) Street parking. Not super plentiful (Wednesday evening) but a handful of spaces when we arrived. It is a smaller restaurant, so I would call ahead for groups of 5 and above.

Incredible dinner for our anniversary! Ethan was so friendly and his recommendations for food were spot on. Waygu and truffle dumplings as well as the dumpling of the day (burrata and kale) were unreal. Bao bun trio flavor profiles were wildly unique and fun. Finished it off with the s’mores dessert which was what we had for dessert on our wedding so that was most fitting! Definitely will be back.

Google
Ethan, our waiter, was super attentive and made sure to explain the menu and the dishes that we were getting. Everything was so good, we got the Fritto and the dumplin style meat and cheese plate with focaccia. Followed by an assortment of dumplings and chicken and meat skewers. We topped it off with the matcha tiramisu. Compliments to Chef Johnny

Google
What a fantastic neighborhood spot in the Highlands! We enjoyed the delicious food - definitely try the bao buns, kabobs and of course the delicious dumplings! The Hamachi Crudo appetizer in the Tigre de Leche was delectable and probably one of my favorite things we tried. Loved the atmosphere and our server Ethan and the manager Jeff were so knowledgeable about the menu and made our experience so memorable. We even had our 1 year old with us (he loved the chicken kabob and the focaccia bread!) and he couldn’t stop dancing to the amazing music they were playing! We loved the atmosphere. Can’t wait to return! 10/10

Google
Overall I would say Dumplin’ has a creative food menu that should give everyone in your party something to enjoy however they are quite pricey for being a dumpling house. Two people and we spent $180 with 1 cocktail each, two apps and 3 different dumplings to share. They do charge a 22% automatic tip and are very upfront about it which I appreciate but also it’s higher than all the other restaurants in this area (most are letting you choose and the ones that are still charging are only doing a small percentage like 3% for kitchen staff). The edamame was great, loved the dried curry spice on it. Tuna tartare was more of a spicy tuna mixture than I’m used to but it was still good. We had the wagyu, shrimp scampi, and chicken dumpling. The wagyu and shrimp were our favorites! The complimentary dessert is cute and the whipped cream was quite delicious. Not sure I’ll hurry back based on price but definitely a cute spot to try!

Google
Delicious dumplings, baos, and ramen! Seems like you can't go wrong with any choice on the menu so will be back to try even more. The matcha tiramisu didn't really have much of a matcha flavor, but it was still delicious.

Yelp
The service was so great! Our two servers were full of information about all aspects of the food and restaurant! And the sister restaurants! We came in starving so unfortunately I don't have many images to show the dumplings but let me just say they were fantastic as well as the duck confit! I was very impressed and they have a deal on Tuesdays!!! My friend had the lucky buddha beer which comes in an awesome bottle! So give that a shot and take the bottle home!!! It's a cute small place a little dark but we got a large cozy booth in the back perfect for 3 people.

Yelp
We loved our dinner at Dumplin'. Our server was awesome- he knew the menu and was able to explain the dishes to some "new to Asian fusion " customers, and he was on high alert to my food allergies. The food was delicious , the dining room was well appointed and comfortable. The whole staff was very welcoming. Thanks for a great dinner experience. One suggestion: the (physical) menu could offer more explanation and better/more readable font & layout.

Yelp
Dumplin' is becoming one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. Their patio is a nice place to hang out while trying some of their cocktails, which are fun and tasty. The menu is conducive to trying a mix of dishes, so it's a good place to go with a group. Some of my favorites are the whipped tofu appetizer, hamachi, wagyu beef dumplings (super flavorful!), and the porchetta bao buns. What truly sets Dumplin' apart is the staff. Everyone I've interacted with has been warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. On multiple visits, they've surprised me with complimentary dessert, which is a really thoughtful gesture. I really appreciate how the staff will walk you through the menu and offer actual recommendations. They're never vague or hesitant; they tell you what they love. They are excited about the menu, and it shows! Shoutout to Jordan, the general manager. He's so engaging, and it seems that his philosophy toward hospitality helps set the tone for the whole place. It really feels like the staff takes pride in making sure customers feel taken care of.

Yelp
Theresa N's review from four months ago was spot on. The burrata dish was soo salty it was inedible and this is coming from someone who never wastes food. The dumplings seemed like an interesting concept but the dough was thick and the fillings underwhelming, and although still tolerable to some extent, they were overwhelmingly greasy and salty (pan fried was recommended by the server when we tried to order steamed). The price was as outrageous as the food, at over $120 for two without drinks. We left feeling heavy and gross and it wasn't really worth it in any way. And it was unfortunate that they added a 22% automatic service fee (you can technically ask for them to remove it but how awkward). The servers were nice but came by so much it was difficult to have a normal conversation. I think this is a unique concept and was excited and open to trying it but it feels difficult to think about coming back unless things changed significantly.

Yelp
Dumplin is a great addition to the West Highlands area. We randomly stopped to grab a quick dinner with friends. We are so glad to stopped in. Dumplin had recently opened and it was clear they were still working out some new restaurant pains - example food arriving in correct order, getting the correct sake we ordered, servers - we had at least 4 different people stop at our table. The food was delicious especially the lobster ramen and the Hamachi appetizer. The cocktails were good as well but strong. They provided a welcome drink and sample of their house sake which were both really delicious. I wouldn't recommend getting the s'more dessert, it seems like every table got it and it has too much alcohol on it for the fire to impressive but you felt like you were eating grain alcohol. It is a great Instagram type dessert but north actually very good.

Yelp
We went for Denver restaurant week and dined off of the set menu. The cacio e Pepe ramen was a standout, I would definitely go back for that! Very small and loud atmosphere, but still family friendly. Service was great even when they were slammed.

Yelp
Delicious dumplings, baos, and ramen! Seems like you can't go wrong with any choice on the menu so will be back to try even more. The matcha tiramisu didn't really have much of a matcha flavor, but it was still delicious.

Yelp
Friendly staff, unique menu and vibe, great food. We loved the wagyu dumplings and the staff treated us to a sake taster and a small dessert on the house. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu -- several creative dishes you wouldn't find elsewhere!

Yelp
Dumplin is such a great spot! I have been searching Denver for the best dumplings and I finally found it. The food was absolutely delicious and everything was cooked perfectly. The service was excellent and quick. It's cozy inside with great vibes.

Yelp
5 weeks new, and a great experience. Sat immediately, friendly staff, complimentary sake tasting, and wonderful recommendations. Enjoyed everything we ordered. Don't judge a restaurant by its neon green website. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this place would have been a one star food truck.

Yelp
New spot that just opened a week ago on 32nd! The place is super small but we went at 5:15ish and was able to sit immediately and they gave us a complimentary glass of sake. We ordered the pork dumplings pan fried (pairs best with soy sauce + chili oil), cacio pepe ramen (added some chili oil there too) and finished with the snores sundae! Crazy fusion concept and will definitely be back to try more on the menu.

Yelp
This is a really unique concept, and I enjoyed my lunch here. It's an Asian/Italian fusion which is not something you see every day. I highly recommend going with a group of friends so you can share and try different things. The waitress was very kind and attentive, and brought me a glass of house sake when I sat down. It was so good that I decided to order a carafe of it. Their cold house sake is lemongrass, and very refreshing on a hot day. I highly recommend it. It was served in a science beaker which I thought was cute. To eat, I had the ginger chicken dumplings. I opted for steamed, but I think the pan fried version is probably even better. The flavor was well-balanced and the ginger wasn't overpowering. Go on Sunday for their amazing drink specials!

Yelp
Ethan was our server, he was amazin'! So informative and helpful!! Food was BEYOND DELICIOUS-- the wagyu dumplings were to die for!!! Going back immediately , definitely a new favorite spot

Kevin S.

Yelp
Really impressed. The food was terrific, especially the dumplings. Great flavor. Loved the vibe inside and the service was terrific as well. I'd recommend trying it!

Olivia M.

Yelp
Amazing service and ambiance and multiple delicious dishes. Favorites were the leche de Tigre tuna and the matcha tiramisu.

Garrett R.

Yelp
I've never left a review good or bad, but Dumplin deserves it's praise. Our server, Raquel, was amazing and made our dining experience so much fun. The Wagyu & Black Truffle Pan-Fried Dumplings were our favorite dish by far. These are a Must Order The Panchetta Boa Buns were delicious and then we finished with the Cacio Pepe Ramen which was very unique but tasted great. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
This place really surprised me. I was skeptical to try an Asian/Italian combo, worried that the flavors would not be complimentary. However, the food was absolutely spectacular and the service was awesome. The steamed pork and leek dumplings were some of the best I've ever had (highly recommend to dip in the chili oil and char siu sauce for extra flavor). The matcha tres leches dessert was so good, too. The only ding I have here is that some of the pricing seems off. $11 for edamame as an appetizer/add on is out of bounds in my book.

Yelp
The tofu hummus is so dang good and my Husband loved the lamb- he couldn't stop talking about it!

Omar S.

Yelp
I visited this location and was amazed by the food and service. The wagyu dumplings are to die for. Jordan was our server and he went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. 10/10. I've been recommending this place to all my friends and family. Beautiful inside as well. Dessert was also 10/10

Yelp
Such an amazing experience and Bonnano Concepts did it again. Ethan was an amazing server and everything was perfect-the drinks, dumplings (waygu all the way), the bao buns and the lobster ramen was insane. Don't forget the smores dessert. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Service was exceptional. Ambiance was legit. Food was pricy for what was served on the hard to read menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary infused sake and the company of my fam. The dumps were nothing to write home about. In fact, I hope they plump them up with filling because after we threw down $120, we went home and had dinner. The flavors were Asian fusion but I was generally disappointed. The dessert was great until I tasted everclear at the bottom. We shared. My partner is sober and that was not cool.

Carolyn A.

Yelp
About to return for our 4th or 5th visit. The menu is so creative and delicious. And the place has a fun vibe. Such a great addition to the dining scene. Highly recommend the whipped tofu "hummus" starter, the Italian sausage and peppers bao buns, all of the dumplings and the cacio e pepe ramen bowl. But make sure to save room for the flaming s'mores dessert.

Jenif O.

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner at Dumplin'. The food was amazing, so much more than dumplings. I don't think you could go wrong ordering anything on the menu, it was all delicious! Incredibly friendly staff and so cozy inside. I am happy that this little restaurant is now in West Highlands!

Franz V.

Yelp
Asian fusion at its finest! This place has the perfect amount of options. Dumplings, buns, EVERYTHING!! Service was incredible. Drinks were amazing.

Tammy P.

Yelp
Stopped in on Saturday night for dinner- sat down right away and enjoyed delicious kabobs, dumplings and wine. Excellent service.

Tyler A.

Yelp
Really well done and comparable to Nana's but even better cocktails! We will 100% go back here again soon! Excited to have this restaurant in the neighborhood

Gabby M.

Yelp
Food was unique and so tasty. I loved everything I tried. Service was great, they offered to move us when a large party was sat next to us. We declined but it was a nice offer. I will definitely be back!

Laurie S.

Yelp
The dumplings were good but the lobster ramen was not nearly as good as it was at Bones. Tiny pieces of chopped up lobster and not many of them.

Arya C.

Yelp
The ambiance was wonderful owner is a super friendly guy that is attentive and the food is really good, never tried something like this place super interesting and good fusion food.

Jillian O.

Yelp
Amazing experience. Heard about this new culinary concept through social media and immediately had to give it a try and was not disappointed. Our server Rafael was great at providing his recommendations and excellent service. We ordered chicken skewers and waygu dumplings and also received a few complimentary items as well that made the experience better than anticipated. Can't wait to watch his new business grow and hopefully come back in the future!

Emily R.

Yelp
The dumplings at Dumplin were awesome!! Some of the best I ever had. I also really enjoyed the wagu dumplings and the smokey sauce was my favorite on the table. All the staff was incredible.. We even got to meet the owners which shows how much love and care has gone into this restaurant. Go check it out!!
