The 9 Best Chinese Restaurants In Washington DC's Chinatown

"Some days, the dim sum at Dumpling District is worth traveling across town for. Other days, the Luna Hall stall is only good enough to cure your fatigue after going too long without eating. Stick with the soup dumplings and get the rainbow so you can try them all. You’ll sometimes see them being freshly pressed out and filled next to the cash register. Most folks take their dumplings to go, but the food hall’s lounge area is a fun place to lean back, watch the news or a game, and spend a few extra minutes in the comfy chairs." - omnia saed

First time here. The guy taking orders could have been a bit nicer, but it really appeared as though he just didn't want to be at work today. The food was delicious, though! Our group tried the Rainbow Soup Dumplings, Chicken Bao, Pork Potstickers, Scallion Pancakes and the Pork with rice bowl. We have zero complaints about the food. Despite the mediocre service, we would definitely come back here.

We stopped at the Dumpling District located in Chinatown inside Luna Hall late at night for a snack. The security guard for Luna Hall warmly greeted us and explained to us the setup of Luna Hall and what was available to us. The front area of Luna Hall was a bar/club and the second half was a food court with a few places to select from. Dumpling District was located at the very end and was one of the few places there that still offered food an hour before Luna Hall was closing. We ordered the Rainbow Soup Dumplings which was their soup dumpling sampler that consisted of one of each flavor that they serve. The six dumpling flavors were pork, chicken, mala, crab meat and pork, shrimp and zucchini, and black truffle. The order took a little of time to receive but they seemed to be steamed to order as they came out very hot. Everything was pretty good. The dumplings were flavorful and pretty tasty. The crab meat and pork was my favorite. I want to mention that the Mala was a little spicy which was not indicated on the menu for those of you that are not a fan of spicy foods. Overall, the dumplings were pretty good for a late night quick stop eatery.

Google
hey. What an unpleasant experience, I arrived at 9:25 pm, in poke ninja they didn't want to sell the food, according to them they were no longer selling anything, at the entrance a person (tall man about 45 years old) with a rather rude and negative tone yelled at me that they closed at 10, there were 35 minutes left and apparently they didn't want to sell anything at all, neither food nor drinks. How sad, I had liked it a long time ago, but I came back and my experience was very bad. I don't think I'll go back!

Google
Food court atmosphere. Ordering was easy. There was a bit of a wait for the food. While not the best I’ve ever had, their xiaolongbao were still good and filling. I was full after the first five. Kind of expensive.

Google
Great made-to-order soup dumplings and shui mai. Each were made to order (see photo) so be prepared to wait a few minutes (well worth it) for your order. I didn’t like the scallion pancakes were deep fried instead of pan fried. Very greasy. The stand is located in a small ‘food court’ area in Chinatown full of other Asian food stands.

Google
Inside a small food court. Food is ok but nothing to rave about! You order your food at the kiosk and they call your number when it's ready. There are enough tables since it's not too crowded. In the same food court, you can find a boba place, a ramen shop and a bakery. There's also a bar at the entrance of the food court. The setup is a little unusual.

Google
I swear the good reviews for this place are fake. There’s absolutely no way people tasted these dumplings and thought “Mmmm this is delicious!” The moment I bit into a dumpling a ton of juice squirted out. The dough was soggy and meat was tasteless.

Google
The tall black man at the front was nice and super helpful, but that's where the pleasure for me ended. This is my personal experience, not to be interpreted that it will be this way for all. I rated the food 3 stars because I ordered the rainbow dumplings and it was "Eh", could've been better. I felt that the flavors weren't as distinct as I'd like. I was looking forward to the black garlic the most, and it didn't even have a garlic like aroma or taste. The spicy one wasn't spicy, just a hint - whack. The easiest one to distinguish was the seafood flavored one. The sauce was pretty good, I personally didn't care for it cold, but the vinegar flavor profiles helped a bit. My service rating is based on the wait time. Over 20mins for just 1 order of rainbow dumplings. I understand they were busy but I hadn't eaten for over 7hrs and it just felt excessive. The place is so small, I had to eat the bar and boy, was that uncomfortable. It seems like they can improve their flavors and make them stronger, and for the price, I would've enjoyed it more. Overall, won't go back, but hey, maybe their other food items are good. We'll see.

Yelp
Tasty dumplings in food hall. Loved the chicken bao buns! Heading there next time I go to a caps game.

Yelp
I found two different places with rainbow soup dumplings while in the city recently. I did end up getting an order from both across my trip, and Dumpling Districts was the winner in my opinion. The food hall itself wasn't my favorite place because it smelled like smoke. Thankfully I wasn't inside for too long, since I had ordered online beforehand. But the person at the bar that I passed as I walked in was super friendly and the Dumpling District staff were nice as well. Most of the soup dumplings were pretty standard--delicious though! My favorites were the mala and black truffle soup dumplings. Incredible flavor. The black vinegar was also a bit sweet, which I much prefer over straight black vinegar. It was a great accompaniment to the dumplings.

Yelp
Great spot for some tasty food. Not fancy but very good. Quick service. You order from the screens. There is a full service bar and several food choices. There is a common area with comfortable seating and a downstairs dining area as well. Give it a try

Yelp
This is inside Luna hall. A food hall in Chinatown. It's quite small and empty. It's actually really cold in here. The bathroom is dirty and smelly. The dumplings were not the best and this is basing off of ding tai fung being the best. The dough didn't taste fresh. It was soupy but I've rainbow specialty dumpling and it doesn't come close to it. The only one I really liked is pork. I wouldn't come here.

Yelp
Absolutely awesome! Found these as a hole in the wall and will definitely be back when we're in town

Yelp
Found dumpling district while out walking around DC area, it's in Luna Food Hall. I ordered the Pork Soup Dumplings (7/10) they were pretty good but really lacked in seasoning honestly. I also tried their Stir-fry Noodles (6/10), again, lacked in seasoning. I had to rely heavily on the sauces they provided to really get an actual good flavor with the food. Though the food wasn't amazing, I would def try them again and I appreciated not having a really long wait for my order also. My overall rate of experience : 6.5/10

Yelp
Small shop in a modern food hall - a little tucked away but convenient especially if you're with a group that wants to try different dishes. There's also a Kung Fu Tea right next to it which is nice for your boba fix. We tried the soup dumplings, spicy pork dumplings, and Shanghai shumai which were all delicious - the shumai were my fave but definitely recommend the soup dumpling sampler to try all the flavors. The stir fry noodles were underwhelming and heaving on the onion so I'd stick to the dumplings. You can order at the counter or at a self-serve kiosk and then pick up your order when your name is called. Plenty of seating and fairly clean dining area although the bathrooms were in rough shape.

Yelp
Dumpling District was the most appealing eatery at Luna Hall the day I visited. I ordered the noodle bowl with mushrooms and the scallion pancake. My food came out fairly quickly, but you have to be alert to get your food when the order is ready. It's placed on a counter, not brought to your table. The noodles and scallion pancake were EXCELLENT! Well prepared and very filling...too much food for one sitting, but I ate it all anyway. Would definitely return again.

Yelp
This dumpling-centric stall is part of a small Asian food court located in what was DC's Chinatown. As it is a food court stall, service is no nonsense but efficient. The pork soup dumplings were good: a thin skin that was strong enough to maintain its structural integrity with a nicely balanced filling. I was a bit disappointed, however, by the broth, which had a good flavor but wasn't very rich. The pork, shrimp & chive dumplings, however, were very disappointing. They were doughy and thick, and the filling was not fully heated. The flavors just didn't meld. And rather than serve the dumplings with the appropriate sauces for dipping, a single overly sweet vinegar-based sauce was provided. The bottom line is that there are better dumpling options, and for nearly $40 with a drink, this was not a meal offering any value.

Yelp
Contemporary food hall! Comes with a bouncer and a bar but kids stayed in the dining area. You order at counters. Meanwhile the dinner items were solid. Will be back.

Yelp
Dumpling District is located in Luna Hall and you can find it towards the back whenever you enter the building. I got the rainbow soup dumplings and the scallion pancakes with beef. The rainbow soup dumplings were a sample of all the different flavors. I really enjoyed the dumplings a lot. There was a good balance between the amount of soup, wrapper, and filling. The dumplings were really flavorful and well made. The scallion pancakes were also really good. There was a good amount of beef in it. The only downside was that it was extra oily.

Yelp
Located inside the Luna food court in chinatown. The food court has a modern ambiance unlike a typical asian food court. The mala soup dumpling is delicious, love the little spicy kick it has. The pork buns are also really good, crispy on the outside and juicy inside.
google avatar

Yelp
DD offered everything I was looking for. Great dumplings. Crispy pork. Delicious broth and noodles. I tried the soup dumpling sampler. My favorite was the male. The shrimp and zucchini not so much. The pork buns were good. My preference is that they wouldn't be pan fried but they still had great filling and flavor. The pork chop noodle soup was absolutely amazing. I would definitely come back whenever I'm in the city again.

Yelp
The soup dumplings were absolutely incredible. My favorite was the truffle dumpling. The flavors were rich and full-bodied. I was very impressed with the quality of the food. The location is in a food hall, and the service and ambiance were great.

Yelp
Dumpling District is in the back of Luna Food Hall. It's a cozy spot with tables and couches. There's also bubble tea, ice cream, and a bar here to go along with your meal. They made the dumplings fresh in front of us and they were amazing. The one thing I didn't like was the stir-fry noodles because it didn't have much flavor. Definitely come here for a fresh and tasty soup dumpling!

Yelp
Dumpling district is located in a football in china town and a great place to get dumplings. The food is really good and the dumplings are made right in front of you. The service is great and the staff is willing to help make a decision if you are like me and want to try everything. This day I got the rainbow dumplings and the pork dumplings. My favorite were the pork dumplings. I also got the chicken fried rice which was good as well. Being in the foodhall this place also has tvs where you can chill and also hang with friends making this a great ambiance.

Yelp
5 stars!! Super authentic dumplings!! The place was so good, I wish we stayed longer in DV so we could have gone back

Yelp
I didn't realize this was a food court when I decided to go. I've never been a fan of food courts. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Order the stir fried noodles and the truffle flavored soup dumplings. My rating for 4 stars is because the soup dumplings was a 5. But the stir fry was pretty bland and just ok so a 3 for that, averaging 4. They had the food out really quickly so will return but will stick with the dumplings only.

Yelp
Aw, Dumpling District - what happened? I was really excited to make a return visit after checking them out at an event - I remember their XLBs having thin skin, being super juicy, and pretty comparable, if not better, than other XLBs in the area... Their menu offers various dim sum items (buns, shumais, potstickers, steamed dumplings, wontons), various apps (such as cucumber salad with garlic, braised duck, etc.), stir-fry noodles, fried rice, etc. We came here for an early meal, and we ordered: +Pork XLBs - the hubs did NOT enjoy these at all; he stated that the broth was awful, and the pork was of low quality and did not taste good +Shrimp & Zucchini XLBs - these were just okay; I felt as if the filling was super bland and it was more zucchini bits than shrimp We did mention to the cashier that we were going to dine-in, so we expected these to come out in the bamboo steamers; however, all orders are automatically packed in to-go containers, which, I feel, do not travel well. I also think it's super weird that they don't offer soup spoons and just regular spoons; a regular spoon cannot contain the liquid inside the XLBs - it's bizarre. They're going to be opening additional locations soon (Rockville, Wheaton, Pentagon City, and Arlington). Located inside Luna Hall, there's limited metered street and garage parking available. +inconsistent XLBs +no soup spoons offered +orders are automatically packed in to-go containers

Yelp
Until a few months back, I was completely unaware that Luna Food Hall had opened its doors right in the heart of Chinatown in DC. My introduction to this culinary gem happened during an event, where I had the pleasure of attending an event in which I was able to sampe offerings from various stalls, including the Peruvian chicken place, Pollo Aria, Kung Fu Tea stand, and, most notably, District Dumpling. Let me tell you, these dumplings are nothing short of amazing and can easily hold their own against the renowned ones you'd find in NYC or any local dumpling joint in the DMV area. On this particular occasion, my boss generously treated my colleague and me to a delightful assortment of chicken and pork dumplings, and they were just as succulent and flavorful as I remembered them from inside the food hall. Luna Food Hall is a strategic haven for tourists seeking quick and convenient dining options in the area. Besides the chicken and pork dumplings, I had the pleasure of savoring a range of other dumpling varieties at a previous event, such as crab meat and pork, shrimp and zucchini, black truffle, and the Mala dumplings. I'd wholeheartedly recommend each of them, as they cater to a diverse range of tastes. If you can't make it to the food hall in person, I've recently discovered that Luna Food Hall offers its delicious fare for delivery through Uber Eats. So, there's no excuse not to give these remarkable dumplings a try.

Yelp
Inside Luna Hall DC (a small food hall in Chinatown), Dumpling District is the vendor at the very end of the hall. They sell handmade dumplings, fried rice, and more. Since their dumplings looks so good, I got one of each through the Rainbow Bowl. Each really popped, but my favorite were the truffle and the shrimp one. The hall has seating, a few outlets, and Wi-Fi.

Yelp
Wanted to get dumplings before a show at capital one, which is just down the street. Located in Luna food hall, we ordered through a tablet and the food took about 10 mins or so to come out. We got the crab and pork soup dumpling, shrimp and pork wonton with peanut sauce, pork soup dumpling, and chicken fried rice. Enjoyed the soup dumplings most. It was extremely hot in the back seating area so suggest eating at the bar or towards the front. Drinks are delicious at the bar.

Yelp
Stopped here before an event at the Capital One Arena and we ordered a bunch of things to try. Unfortunately it was not that great, some of the dumplings were under cooked and not edible. The flavor of a few other things seemed a bit off for our liking too. We don't normally toss food, but we did and said we'd never go back. It was super hot inside too and had to find a table that at least wasn't overly hot to sit at.

Yelp
I decided to walk here from my hotel due to the rave reviews, and let's just say it wasn't worth the walk. My mom and I ordered the chicken soup dumplings, pork and crab bun, and veggie stir fried noodles. Everything was underwhelming, except for the service from the employee that took my order. She was nice and upbeat, the two stars is for her. The chicken soup dumpling was a little too salty and tasted a little too msg-y? I was expecting refreshing chicken broth. The pork and crab bun was not good at all. Had no crab flavor and the bun itself was too sticky/doughy. The veggie stir fried noodle was not bad. Lots of veggies, was a little too saucy, but it's something I can overlook. It was $46 for the three items I ordered, not worth it imo.

Yelp
I love this Food Hall in Chinatown a variety of food options in one place. The service is fast and friendly, it's a good place for happy hours everyone can get what they want. The braided pork belly with mushroom was nostalgic for me, it's one of my favorite childhood dishes. The pork was juicy/tender/flavorful and DELICIOUS! The bok chok was crispy no flavor but it works so well with braided pork; the rice was cooked perfectly.

Yelp
Dumpling District is one of the few food stalls inside Luna Hall. I have relatively low expectations for XLBs (soup dumplings) in the DMV, but one of my friends insisted that I gave Dumpling District a try. PORK SOUP DUMPLINGS (6) - 13.95 Most people get the rainbow soup dumpling sampler but I prefer sticking to the traditional option. This is pretty pricy for six soup dumplings, but they're on the bigger side. I wish they gave me a soup spoon to eat these with because upon biting the skin of the dumpling, I am forced to slurp all the soup, otherwise it will spill and drip everywhere. The soup was on the lighter side, savory with a hint of sweetness. The pork was also well marinated and tasted pretty good. The skin was thinner/more elastic than I expected. Overall, these were much better than I expected. Sadly, one spilled open because it was stuck onto the parchment paper. Other than that, these are one of the better XLBs I've had in the area. My friend got a rice cake for the table and I thought that was just OK. There wasn't a lot of sauce and the rice cakes stuck together and were on the drier side. The vegetables were fine. Give Dumpling District a chance if you are looking for soup dumplings in the DMV. It's better than most, but it's a tad pricy!

Yelp
Well-hidden but worth finding. At the back end of a bar and lounge in Chinatown lies a small Asian food court which includes this place - great dumplings at a great price. We had the Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings), Spicy Wontons and Cucumber Salad. That was more than enough to eat for the two of us. Each dish was terrific. It's been so long since I've had proper soup dumplings I'd almost forgotten how to eat them. Carefully! The consommé was wonderfully hot and tasty; the wrappers actually come in rainbow colors (and flavors, evidently, although I didn't really discern them.) The Spicy Chili Wontons may have actually been my favorite. Great level of heat and the wontons were stuffed with meat. Filling and delicious. Service? I mean, this is a food stall, you order to eat a table in the court or to-go and they call your name when it's ready. We saw many locals ordering meals to go, a sign of a popular place. It appears most of the authentic Asian restaurants have left Chinatown but at least this small gem remains. Highly recommended. PS - there's also a bubble tea shop in the court, great place to get your drinks.

Yelp
Located inside a small food hall called Luna hall. It was easy to find a seats around but only the very front really looked well take care of and clean. We tried the rainbow soup dumplings and it's nice to see the workers making the food extremely fresh with the dough and the fillings! Lines move a bit too slowly which is understandable but good to keep in mind. Good amount of soup, skin is good, and filling was moist. However, the meat filling didn't have much of its own flavor and the soup was way too sweet.

Yelp
Since I live in Maine, I don't have too many options for Chinese soup dumplings, so when I travel I seek them out, and I've had some really delicious ones all over the country. In DC, a new spot recently opened, and the "rainbow" concept intrigued me. The dumplings were delicious! I know eating them immediately is best, but I had limited time and had to get them to go. I wondered how well they would travel. I was very impressed. I ate them about 15 mins. after my order was made. None of the dumplings had any tears in the wrappers even though the wrappers were quite thin which I love. I also worried they would stick together, make a hole when I separated them, and lose the broth...but this did NOT happen, not even once. There were several kinds of broth, chicken, seafood, and pork. The filling was different in each one, and they were all delicious. I also tried the Shanghai Shumai...which were filled with a mushroom and pork filling and very mushroomy, but the mushrooms were ground to small instead of of in small chunks, and they were slightly dry filling. The atmosphere & decor is basically a food court with tables and chairs, with lots of flashing lights, some lots of comfy couches. I did not figure out how to order online or by phone so I walked there and ordered at the counter. The service was great. The dumplings took about 10 - 12 mins, and the counter person brought me my order to the table I was waiting at.

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick lunch and WOW was I impressed by these delicious dumplings! Dumpling District recently opened in the new Luna Food Hall in Chinatown and I predict it's gonna be very popular in the future! They have a variety of dim sum options in addition to their soup dumplings and they have apps & entree options as well! As soon as I saw rainbow soup dumplings on the menu, I knew I had to order them along with some pork Shumai! They also make all their dumplings in house and you can watch as they prepare them at the front counter! When I ordered, it took about 15-20 minutes for my food to come out, but it was well worth it since they make everything to order and the dumplings were a bit bigger than I thought they would be. The pork shumai were perfectly cooked and piping hot when I dug into them and they were delicious! There was plenty of filling inside and combined with their chili oil, it was a great combo! For the soup dumplings, they have 6 different fillings inside and I chose the rainbow option to try them all! Here is my ranking for the 6 fillings: 1. Mala 2. Pork 3. Crab Meat & Pork 4. Black Truffle 5. Chicken 6. Shrimp & Zucchini They were all delicious and I would order any of them again but I definitely preferred their mala and regular pork soup dumplings! There was a good amount of filling and soup inside each of them and I was impressed with the mala one having a good kick of spice and the black truffle for having a well-balanced flavor without being too truffley! I highly recommend coming here if you are a fan of soup dumplings and want to try a new spot in the Chinatown area! You won't be disappointed! An easy 5/5.

Yelp
For me, dim sum is either really great, or extremely underwhelming. Dumpling District would fall in the "really great" category, I was seriously impressed with their food. Located in a food hall in Chinatown, Dumpling District shares a counter with the likes of Kung Fu Tea, a fried chicken shop and a couple of other places. They seem to be the "new kid on the block" with various offerings of dim sum and Chinese appetizers. If they can consistently serve up the food that I received, then I think they'll be around for a long time. As an appetizer, we ordered the cucumber salad with garlic. On a hot day, this was surprisingly such a refreshing thing to eat. The salad was chilled, the cucumbers were crunchy, and the garlic sauce that paired with it gave it some great flavor. It was addicting to eat, and a great palate cleanser! It's apparent that Dumpling District takes pride in the dim sum that they make. Literally, the first thing you see when you walk into the food hall is someone making all of the dim sum from scratch. They make their own fillings, wrap up the dumplings and steam everything to perfection. Their signature item are the soup dumplings. It's so easy to mess it up, but theirs were done to perfection. We ordered the crab and pork soup dumplings, and they were incredible! The broth was rich, but balanced with a touch of sweetness. The wrapper to filling ratio was spot on and the filling was full of flavor. Plus, the crab was easily noticeable, something that does not always happen. The shumai was also very tasty, the pork was cooked perfectly and juicy. If there is something that I appreciate, it is when people take the time to do things the right way. Dumpling District does dim sum the right way and for me, that's absolutely admirable. They have some unique soup dumplings that are different colors to represent different flavors, I'll need to come back to try them all!

Yelp
New XLB place in Luna Hall, the new Chinatown food hall. Hands down best XLB I've had in the area. And I used to live next to DTF so my standards are high. Every dumpling had plenty of soup, with zero broken dumplings and wrappers on the regular to thin side. Moreover, every broth had its own unique flavor - not just everything with pork broth. The mala had plenty of punch, the black truffle was everywhere including the soup, and the shrimp and zucchini was nice and light. Heck, even the chicken had a nice flavor and was moist - and almost nobody in the right mind wants a chicken XLB. Other great stuff - the buns themselves have soup too and are pan fried as well. The Shanghai Shumai is mostly riced based but as plenty of flavor, if not a bit oily. There's other places in Luna Hall but I would come just for the dumplings - they're that good!

Yelp
Dumpling District, a modest gem in Washington D.C.'s Chinatown, might just be redefining the Xiao Long Bao game. As a Hawaiian local, where top-tier Xiao Long Baos are as rare as snowflakes, I walked into this place with expectations lower than a limbo stick. The lack of a line and empty seats didn't do much to lift my spirits either. But oh, how appearances can be deceiving! I skeptically ordered their Pork Soup Dumplings, half expecting another culinary letdown. However, what followed was nothing short of a flavor explosion. Each dumpling was a masterclass in taste and texture - the wrapping was sturdy, expertly holding in the rich pork juices, and not a single one was misshapen or leaking. The tangy side of vinegar was the perfect accompaniment, and the convenience of their to-go bowls was a thoughtful touch. By the end of my trip, I had visited Dumpling District thrice, each time leaving more impressed than the last. These Xiao Long Baos didn't just surpass my expectations; they outshone any I had back in Hawaii. It's a bold claim, but Dumpling District has earned it. Next time I'm in D.C., you can bet this will be my first stop.

Don't use the Yelp online order. The restaurant said they won't accept the online order since they are busy. We had better wait there directly.

Yelp
Literally the BEST dumplings in the dmv besides Trader Joe's as I've been on the hunt for the best. This is a shared space as it's located in a food hall. Depending on the time you order you can expect a little bit of a wait as the dumplings are made fresh. I love that you can watch them make it too. The broth is extremely flavorful. I usually order the rainbow soup dumplings so I can try all the flavors but if I had to pick one it would be the truffle. Whatever you do, don't skip this one. Service is good. Only one of the workers (young male) speaks English while the rest of the workers don't unfortunately. So if you feel like you're being ignored, you're not they just don't understand.

Yelp
The location for this restaurant in D.C. was cool. Its like in a food court with several other fast food restaurants and a bar. We went late night and the setting seemed to be a hang out spot to just chill. We ordered vegetable dumplings, vegetable fried rice, and beef stir-fried noodles. The dumplings were good, however everything else did not taste good. I attempted to use a bunch of soy sauce to add some flavor to the profile, which helped a little, but I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
First, really nice spot to chill and eat. The bar area has great, comfortable seating. I was able to try the pork buns, pork soup dumplings, and a scallion pancake. All were phenomenal. The soup dumpling broth was perfectly seasoned. All were cooked perfectly, the pork buns had a great crispy crust. Definitely worth the trip. The food hall has a handful of options, and it would be a great place for kids too, very casual.

Yelp
We were craving for dumplings and happened to be around the area. My aunt's Google search brought us to Luna District and except for the bathroom, everything live up to our expectations. Being unfamiliar with what they serve, of course we had to try the rainbow dumplings. I'd say they're worth the wait and each flavor is incredibly distinct from one another. Each one was savory, juicy, and definitely satisfied that dumpling craving we had. Their shumai were also very good, you could taste how fresh they were without the taste of a lot of extenders. I like how there are other food offerings in the same hall that each craving can be satisfied , no matter how different each person's tastes are.

Yelp
Was craving comfort food, so I stopped by for lunch after seeing this spot on Google. LOCATION: Upon entering the food hall, you will need to go straight and past the Tours les Jours, as this is located at the very end of the hall. I noticed there was an odor in the building that dissipated as you went back -- nothing to dock points over, but something I wanted to note if you're sensitive to smells (it may be a one-time occurrence). WAIT TIME: It was a slow day (perhaps 2-3 other small groups waiting for their orders) so I expected a short wait, but it took 40 minutes for one order of pork soup dumplings. Maybe there were a lot of online orders I couldnt see, but I was surprised by the wait. Service was decent, as meals are served to-go from the order counter with throwaway utensils / containers. FOOD: Upon receiving my pork soup dumplings, I was disappointed to see two already had large holes which allowed the soup to spill out. However, I will say that they were still very tasty. OVERALL: 4/5, I hope to see improvements in service time + food quality consistency. I'd recommend this spot if you're not on a time crunch, as the food I ordered was delicious and the proximity to other cafes and restaurants was convenient.

Yelp
the pancake with beef was so nasty, can hardly eat the beef and too oily , I had to throw the whole thing, waste of money

Yelp
Located within Luna Hall, Dumpling District is the place to go for the most delicious and juicy dumplings !!! I loved the rainbow dumplings and am definitely addicted. I might walk 15 from my job weekly for these dumplings

Yelp
While the ambiance is not the best, the food more than makes up for it! The soup dumpling sampler was outstanding! I'm still thinking of them a month later. The vegetable dumplings were also very good! The service was good and the prices were very reasonable.

Yelp
Pretty good soup dumplings! Thin skin outside & flavored soup inside. Plenty of seating and spacious too. It has a lounge feeling in the front but also has formal dining tables and seats in the back.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place while exploring the Chinatown area of DC. It's located across from Gallery Place meteo on H Street in the Luna Food Hall. Service was very welcoming, and the order didn't take long at all. I sat inside to enjoy my ranbow combo of soup dumplings. They were some of the best dumplings that I've had in a long while! I was thoroughly pleased w/this gem of a find and will be back to patronize them again in the future, especially when it gets colder outside!

Yelp
I cannot stress enough how good this place was. It was a Asian food hall. Very fast service, many places to choose from. Fried chicken, soup dumpling, poke bowl, and boba. Our group ( paige, maryn, whitney, bridget group) tried the soup dumplings, boba, and poke bowl. The outside of the place looks kinda sketchy on the outside but on the inside, its a quiet atmosphere and has many places to sit. I tried the pork soup dumplings and they were perfect, so much umami, perfect saltiness, lots of soup!!! 6 dumplings were included for one plate. Everyone enjoyed it!! The fish for the poke was nice and fresh, and the boba was nice and chewy. There is also a Japanese fried chicken place but we did not get any. Overall, AMAZING!!!!!!! Yelp
We were craving soup dumplings and had to try this place once we found it. It's in a food hall which is great if you go with a group, so everyone has options for different meals. We had ordered the pork soup dumplings from the Dumpling District and they were bursting with flavor. The dumplings are a little expensive but they are super delicious! You go up to the cashier to order and wait for them to call your number. The place is great if you want a quick bite to eat at night in DC, it's very decorative with chill vibes. Definitely recommend and we look forward to going back.
