The 16 Best Dumpling Spots In SF

"Dumpling House in the Castro serves dumplings, buns, turnip cakes, potstickers, wontons, and Hong Kong-style wonton soup. If your dinner brain tends to want everything when dumplings are involved, you’ll probably welcome their shorter menu. The xiao long bao are extra soupy, the shrimp and pork dumplings are flavorful and meaty, and the wrinkly wontons are delicately wrapped and bathed in slightly spicy chili oil. The chicken teriyaki bowl was suppose to come with a salad but there was no salad. It was still good and portions are big enough to get your money’s worth. But please remember to add the salad next time.

Legit very good Mongolian food. Order Naadam Huushuur, Tsuivan and beef soup with dumpling, all very delicious

I’m absolutely over the moon about the incredible experience I had with this Mongolian restaurant on 1200 Market Street! The food is beyond amazing—authentic, flavorful, and truly the best Mongolian cuisine I’ve ever had outside of Mongolia. I ordered tsuivan, huushuur, dumplings, salad, and traditional milk dumplings, and every single bite was a joy. The salad that came on the side with every dish was so fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the dumplings were just melt-in-your-mouth delicious. What made it even more special was bringing my buddy from El Salvador. He’s been begging me to introduce him to Mongolian food, so I had the idea to bring him here. He didn’t mind at all that it’s takeout only—he was just excited to try it. We grabbed the food, found a spot to eat in the car, and he was completely astounded. It was his first time trying Mongolian food, and he couldn’t stop saying how delicious it was! He’s already talking about coming back again and again because he loved it so much. If you miss authentic Mongolian flavors like I do, or if you’re new to Mongolian cuisine, this place is a gem. The food and service were both fantastic, and I couldn’t recommend it more!

The menu is packed with flavorful options, but I highly recommend trying their khorkhog—a traditional Mongolian barbecue dish cooked with hot stones. The meat was tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned. Their buuz (steamed dumplings) were equally amazing, bursting with juicy fillings and paired with a tangy dipping sauce. The portions were generous, and the ingredients tasted fresh and high-quality. To top it all off, their milk tea was a comforting and unique beverage that perfectly complemented the meal.
