This place has the best “Pot Stickers” in Des Moines! So friendly and hardworking! They offer so many different meats and veggie dumpling combinations! My favorite are the pork with Napa cabbage, but my mother prefers the chicken and Napa cabbage! Make sure you get them with the crunchy chili oil! You’ll find them at the Valley Junction Farmer’s Market on Thursday evenings, the Downtown Farmer’s Market in Des Moines on Saturday mornings, as well as Kitchen Spaces in the Drake Neighborhood on Sunday nights!

I usually make my own dumplings at home because there just weren't any good ones around. They were either dry, flavorless, burnt, or falling apart. Then we ordered Dumpling House because it was Sunday and they happened to be open. Now, once a month Sunday is dumpling day in our house. Made and delivered on time with the correct order, steaming hot and delicious. Can't go wrong if you're looking for actually good dumplings in Des Moines.

These are the best dumplings in Des Moines. The cucumber salad is delicious, too. Sadly, they're only open Sunday evenings, but they're worth planning around.

Really great experience

First I tasted their pork with napa cabbage potstickers in farmers market and they were delicious even though I m not a fan of pork. Then I found they serve dumplings in downtown once a week. There I had chicken with cabbage potstickers and chicken with mushroom potstickers. Yummiest potstickers in town and I am sure I am going to visit them every week. They are best.

Ordered from here at the farmers market and their dumplings were amazing. The people who helped me were wonderfully pleasant. I will definitely be back to get more!

We got some of each kind of dumpling. Lots of filling and very flavorful! Will definitely be getting again!

I think they do most of their business at farmers markets? If you can catch them, they are pretty solid! Nothing super standout but I really enjoyed it and would definitely get again!

Dumplings are off the hook. Unfortunately, I am becoming addicted to them. I bought 36 today so I can freeze some and not go into withdrawal. Hope the open a real restaurant. Very fairly priced.

I love this place. I love the various different fillings including the traditional pork with cabbage. I myself prefer the handmade and slightly heavier dough used versus the thinner stuff that tastes more like Japanese Gyoza. I never traveled the Pacific Rim like another reviewer has I appreciate a good rim job. But I have ate at Michelin star rated chinese dim sum houses in Chicago as well growing up in NYC where we have both top notch American style Chinese as well have various regional varieties. Hunan, Cantonese etc etc and this place while not Michelin star type of quality is still very good and very nicely priced which makes it a tremendous value .

This is a new place that rents out the Kitchen Spaces for carry out or deliver only. And let me tell you! If you're looking for authentic Chinese dumplings then here it is! You can have it steamed or potsticker style. We chose to have our Oder both ways to try them out and we were not disappointed. Both styles were delicious, savory, tender, and had a good Unami taste. We got 3 flavors: Beef with Onion, Chicken with Mushroom, and Pork with Cabbage. The beef and onion is probably the favorite, it was well seasoned and flavorful. The chicken and mushroom is the most mild flavor of them, but still delicious. And finally pork and cabbage, the classic dumpling with a good porky taste, nice mild crunch of the cabbage, and tender dough. We also got a nice side of cucumber salad. It was also very good, garlicky, savory, and has a good crunchy crispy fresh bite! Would highly recommend this place for great dumpling. Would come and order again!

I've had their dumplings multiple times at the farmers market and delivered. As someone who makes homemade dumplings and loves dumplings, I can say with confidence these are the best I've ever had. Seriously I cannot recommend these enough please go try their dumplings.

I would like to preface this by saying I have been eating and cooking Asian food since I was a child, and have lived and traveled extensively throughout Asian and the Pacific Rim. Please be aware this "restaurant" has no sign outside the building. It's just a dumpy little building near Drake that looks like it used to be a laundrymat. The exterior sign says "Kitchen Spaces". Inside you have to tap a little bell to summons the Dumpling House chef from the back room. If you have never eaten Chinese Dim Sum or experienced Chinese dumplings, this is an easy and inexpensive way to get started. They are a tasty, popular snack or light meal throughout Asia. Positives: the potato salad and cucumber salad. Similar to Korean Ban Chan, these are riffs on a couple of traditional Chinese veggie dishes. Negatives: The dumpling skins, while perhaps true to some parts of Northern China, are extremely dense and thick - not at all what is served in Dim Sum houses and Chinese bakeries. Very chewy and doughy, and lacking in uniform crispness on the bottom. The dough was so overpowering I can't even comment the fillings. This would have been the perfect dough for a big Polish pierogi, filled something strong, like potatoes and cheddar, or sauerkraut and bacon. But for a light treatment of ground meat and vegetable, it doesn't work. TL/DR: If you've never tried Chinese dumplings before: go. Food snobs: pass.

Des Moines needed dumplings again! We ordered a variety of dumplings to try out! Between steamed and potsticker, we preferred the potsticker--that's definitely where it's at! The beef/cabbage and pork/cabbage were my favorites of the lot. I did not like the pork/chives at all, but my S/O did.

Best pork and chive potstickers I've had in years. Absolutely loved the sauce with them. Mushroom pork wonton soup delicious. Tried the spaghetti potatoes salad and found it interesting . I would say that the flavor will have to grow on me. Just to add that for delivery it was medium temp, but that was not a problem. Definitely will try again.
