Best Boston Restaurant Meals of 2020, According to Local Food Writers | Eater Boston

"A Newton comfort-food spot known for a variety of dumplings — notably Shandong-style soup dumplings and pork-and-leek fillings — which, combined with an appetizer and a noodle dish, provide a deeply cozy, satisfying meal." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Ate at restaurant with my wife and son, wasn't bad regular chinese restaurant nothing special. As I was taking my son out to the car my wife paid the waiter, she got out and then he came out to the car asking for 18% tip and came out with the bill and pen, I said what happen? and he said didn't give me enough tip, said what! So my wife give him couple dollars more thought was extremely rude. Definitely will not come back here again. I mean not obligated to give anything but remain cool because with my family gave waiter couple bucks maybe not getting paid enough money but still rude.

Great spot for dumplings in Newton. Standard menu is good too. Staff is friendly and prompt both for takeout or dine in. Overall would recommend just make sure to grab a wide variety of different dumplings to try as much as you can!

Dumpling House is a great hidden gem in a little strip mall on Walnut street in Newton. There was plenty of parking. Restaurant appeared very clean. Staff was friendly. The menu is huge. Mostly authentic Chinese dishes. Not your typical American style Chinese food. The food tasted extremely fresh and full of flavor. I started with a small hot and sour soup with shredded pork. It was large enough for two people. Very traditionally prepared with wood ear mushrooms, golden needles, tofu, pork, scallions. It had a very nice complex flavor with a big kick that would clear out anyone's sinuses. Soup was delicious! My first appetizer was the jellyfish with garlic. This was like a salad with the jellyfish cut in thin strips with a solid but not chewy texture. The dish also had cucumbers, carrots, sesame seeds and plenty of garlic. Delicious! Next I had one of my favorites appetizers. Crispy fried pig intestines! If you have never had this, step outside your box. The outside is crispy with a texture like bacon and the inside is a soft moist delicious pork flavor. This dish is amazing! For my entrée I had to go with the pork and crab soup dumplings. These were full of soup, flavor and makes the whole trip worth it! Soooo good! If you are looking for quality food that's different from the American PuPu platter, check this place out. I can't wait to go back!

Food is average. Dishes we had didn't really stand out and not something we would crave for. Food came out quickly, servers are always quick and rushing around because they're busy with dining service and also take out. But they are always around so easy to grab them if you need something.

Place stinks. Picked up two chinese takeout boxes portions of pork fried rice. Something that should be a staple. It was so gross, bland and just looks unappetizing. Just eggs, white rice and sad looking pork strips, not an ounce of seasoning. some soggy green vegetables too, if they can’t get their fried rice right, there is no way anything else is good. $28 down the drain

The lowest of low quality food. I want to see an ingredient list of what they use for the general gaps chicken sauce. It looks like they use glue. I’ve never had sauce that was so goopy and stuck together like this does. Over priced for the quality you get. 50$ got me fake chicken with glue sauce, white rice and crab rangoons

Ordered pick up for me and my lady. Pork soup dumplings. We each ate one piece, and instantly spit out the second. It all tasted undercooked. Later in the night we both got very sick. Days later still feeling under the weather. Absolute trash.

Picked this place for a birthday dinner since were too hungover to go anywhere fancy! Dumplings are our comfort food and it was the right move! All we had were dumplings and soup and they were so wholesome and flavorful! Personal favorite is the wonton in sichuan oil and the pork soup dumplings. Hangover cure? Definitely!!!!!
