We had a great lunch here yesterday!
Service, food, and value were all plus plus. In fact, my husband thought the dim sum were some of the best he'd had recently in South Florida.
Parking was easily accessible right out front of the restaurant. They weren't that busy when we first entered but got busier as the lunch hour went on. They have a few lunch specials advertised on the window, but we wanted to try their dim sum.
They haven't been open very long. They were doing a special promotion whereby if you spent $20 or more you got either a free boba drink or two canned sodas. We took the canned sodas. And we also got two adorable soft sponge-like dim sum key chains as a gift.
We ordered way more food than needed for the two of us for lunch. In fact, we enjoyed the leftovers for dinner.
The place is sparkling clean. They are constantly cleaning the tables, etc. as well.
I mentioned great service. You order at the counter. The gal was just lovely and patient and explained a few things to us (like making sure we knew the shrimp dumplings pictured also had pork in them). After you pay, you're given a number on your receipt. They follow you and place a numbered stand on your table matching your order. And as you are seated waiting for your food to be delivered, they bring over plates, bowls, spoons, etc. There were chopsticks on the table, but we prefer the bamboo take out ones, so they brought those as well. They clear the table as needed. And we were asked several times if we needed anything else and if everything was okay.
Now to the food, my husband's soup was delivered first. Then the rest of the food spaced out a bit. They don't have hoisin sauce, but were nice enough to give us some duck sauce. There's soy sauce and hot chili oil on the table, already.
He'd ordered the curry beef rice noodle soup assuming it would be a small serving. It was larger than expected. In fact, he said it could have been his lunch. The beef was tender with clear noodles. You could smell the curry in the broth. It had the personality of white pepper -- more than being really spicy.
We then shared their scallion pancakes appetizer. They came with their own special sauce. I preferred them with soy sauce. But this vegetarian dish was strong enough on its own with lots of scallions in it.
We also shared two other dumplings -- their fried pork dumplings and their steamed shrimp ones (it says "boiled" on the menu). The pork fried dumplings were crisped on one side. The filling is mainly ground minced pork. They were good. Pretty close to the gyoza we've gotten before, although I like them usually a bit more fried. Our favorite of all the dishes, however, was the shrimp dumplings. Inside the steamed dough was a layer of pork with chives topped with a whole piece of shrimp. The tail of the shrimp stuck out the end like a little handle. Not only was it a cute presentation but was the perfect bite combination.
The menu has more than just regular dumplings. There are other appetizers. I thought about getting a small order of their chicken wings or trying their egg roll. Plus, a number of dishes called "dips", a hot pot, and a bunch of noodle dishes. I don't think the sauteed pork intestines will appear to us gringos, but the large Asian population would enjoy them. I'm not a boba person, but they have over two dozen varieties of bubble milk teas, flavored bubble green teas, and even black teas.
As for prices, we felt everything was very reasonable. Portions are large -- perfect for sharing. They will be very popular and successful here. I suggest you come sooner rather than later. And yes, we will be back to try more of their menu!
