I really love how they decorated for the holidays and even their bowls and cups were aesthetically pleasing. I love the ambience and the seating was also comfy. Our egg drop soup was served in a bowl that looked like a cracked egg! It was so cool! Hehe The pork and shrimp Xiaolongbao was sooo good! Everything was delicious! We shared the cream puffs, which were crispy, sweet, and creamy. The meat eggrolls were also crispy. The scallion pancakes were perfectly flaky, crisp, and buttery on the outside. Minimal scallions, though. When I make them at home, I overindulge on the scallions, so that’s just my preference. 😆 I loved the crispy flaky buttery texture. 💕 The sesame chicken was very good. Sweet. The Xiaolongbao was really fun to eat and very flavorful, as was the spicy dumpling soup! They made it mild for me because I can’t do spicy food anymore 🥲 and it was still so good! Overall, incredible dinner. We ordered a lot to try, but had a lot leftover. The portions are shareable and the service was lovely, friendly, great at remembering, and fast! They also have a rewards program you can join and use your points towards specific free items. Pretty neat restaurant. We walked there from our hotel.

Tried Dumpling and Noodle and enjoyed a flavorful meal. The egg drop & hot & sour soup was a comforting blend of tang and spice. Chicken fried noodles were well seasoned and satisfying, with a nice balance of texture and flavor. The Jasmine tea was fragrant and calming, while the peach sparkler added a refreshing, fruity touch to the meal. A solid spot for casual, tasty Asian comfort food.

Came here for the first time with my kid one evening, and they were all smiles. The handmade noodles and soup dumplings were amazing—fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. We’ve been coming back ever since. The staff is always friendly and even remember us, which adds a personal touch. Great spot with great food and service. Highly recommend!

Ordered: scallion pancake, cucumber salad, eggplant love green beans, chicken xiao long bao, shrimp asparagus sour dumplings soup. All very tasty, decent portion size for 2, service was timely and polite. Prices reasonable. The broth flavor for the soup was delicious, not too sour, a slight tartness supported by a fully body marinade of flavors. They accommodated a non-spicy version with chili oil on the side. The dumplings were perfectly wrapped and cooked, good amount of stuffing and choice of ingredients. Will be revisiting for sure!

I've eaten xiao long bao (also known as Shanghai soup dumplings) all over the world in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, London (UK), and plenty of spots in the US and I have to say, the ones here at Dumplings & Noodles by Cooking Girl rank right up there among the very best I've ever had. The wrappers are thin yet sturdy, the soup inside is rich and flavorful without being overly greasy, and that glorious burst of broth when you bite in is perfection. They nail the balance of pork, ginger, and seasoning that makes a great XLB. We also tried the noodles, which were spot on chewy, well sauced, and delicious. The steak pork buns were a hit too fluffy, savory, and not too sweet. Service was prompt, super friendly, and attentive without being overbearing exactly what you want when you're hungry after a day out. The staff made us feel welcome right away. Highly, highly recommend this place! My foodie son is now joking about moving to Houston just for these dumplings (he's serious about half of it 😂), and even our fussy daughter found something she genuinely loved and cleaned her plate. If you're staying at the DoubleTree Galleria or just in the area, do yourself a favor and stop here you won't be disappointed.

We came with empty stomaches and left with full bellies. Our waiter was the only one on the floor, but man he was a great server. Kudos to him for running the restaurant. We got the spicy pork Xiao Long Bao, which was very flavorful. We also got the Dan Dan noodles, which was delicious (and a lot!), the Shu Mai (which I liked), and the beef broth pan fried dumplings (my friend liked). We’ll be happy to return!

A small place but very clean. The staff were exceptional, and very friendly. The food was large portions. Had crab puff and egg rolls for appetizers (not pictured) we had orange chicken, and Kung poa chicken. Will definitely return!!!

This is a solid lunch spot. No wait. The lunch menu is unfortunately very americanized, but the main menu has good chinese dishes. Spicy fish was good (even though not as spicy as it should be), potstickers were delicious

This was my second visit to Dumplings and Noodles by Cooking Girl, and I brought my family along to see if it could live up to our first experience. Spoiler: it did--still amazing! We stuck to our four go-to Szechuan dishes: 1. Pork Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) - Just as delicious as last time. A word of caution: the soup is piping hot, so take care when biting in! 2. Pork Thumb Buns - Crispy bottoms and tasty, but they're quite small. Still worth trying if you love these buns. 3. Spicy Hot Fish Slices - A repeat for us because it's that good. Absolutely flavorful and perfectly cooked. 4. Dan Dan Noodles - Very tasty, though in my heart Mala Sichuan still holds the crown for these noodles. I also signed up for their rewards program and got a free order of Crab Cheese Puffs. They came out piping hot, and while they usually come in threes, they generously added an extra one for our party. That kind of thoughtful service is worth calling out. Overall, Dumplings and Noodles by Cooking Girl continues to impress with consistent quality, bold flavors, and attentive service. This is a place I'll be craving for years to come as long as they maintain their high standards. We took home some leftovers and I'm actually really looking forward to that meal tomorrow!

I love Cooking girl and wanted to come try this restaurant and I was extremely impressed with the food and the ambiance. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and the decor is nice and inviting. The staff was very friendly and prompted brought us water shortly after we were seated. There are some stand out items that you must order. The pork and chicken XLB were outstanding with spectacular seasoning, and a generous amount of piping hot flavorful soup. The XLB are quite generously sized and almost don't fit in a normal soup spoon. The spicy hot fish slices are a must order! The batter is crispy and light, and the fish was perfectly cooked and tossed in sichuan seasoning. The spicy chicken cubes are also quite excellent and addictive with similar seasoning. The shrimp fried rice was delicious and came with ginormous shrimp. The cucumber salad was quite refreshing and went well with the other items we ordered. The only disappointment were the scallion pancakes. They were just okay; not seasoned well and not crispy enough. I will be back to try some of them items I didn't had chance to order this time. My diagnosis: come here for spectacular XLB and spicy hot fish and chicken.

Din Tai Fung is the gold standard when it comes to dumplings. I would say Dumplings and Noodles by Cooking girl comes close but with their own spin. I appreciate their extensive menu. Service was good. We really enjoyed the beef soup. The size of the soup dumping threw us off since they were so big so flavor wise it was good. The shrimp and asparagus pot stickers were nice and crispy but definitely needed some soy sauce as they were a bit bland. I didn't get to try the braised beef bun warm so I can't give an honest opinion. Overall, Dumplings and Noodles is a great option for an affordable, quick meal when you're in the mood for dumplings.

The food was very good! Service was mostly good, very attentive until we got close to finishing our food and then we had to sit and wait for the check/boxes. The salt and pepper chicken, orange beef and crab Rangoon were fantastic! The pork fried rice was good as well. The noodles were somewhat bland but my husband enjoyed them.

Firstly, this is the most clean restaurant I have ever visited. The detail that they gave to clean a table after someone left was honestly surprising. Jessie provided excellent service. She was prompt, welcoming, and kind. I was not feeling like eating anything too heavy and she gave me great recommendations. The green beans are delicious! I definitely will be back.

Our first visit this evening, which included: scallion pancakes, pan fried dumplings, eggplant with garlic sauce, and kung pao shrimp. Everything was very tasty and we look forward to a return visit where we will sample more dishes. The place is very clean with a quiet and pleasant atmosphere.

Delicious Xiao Long Baos in a cute new location. Most of what we got was great but the xiao long bao / soup dumplings were the stand-out favorite. I liked the spicy pork the best even though it wasn't spicy. The truffle soup dumplings were delicious and unique, but I'm not sure they are worth the price premium. The dumplings have a large amount of soup and have thin skins. You have to be careful to eat them while still hot so they don't stick to the paper and break. I'd come here just for the xiao long bao. The green beans were really good; cooked and seasoned well. The scallion pancake was good and on par with other places. I'm not sure how I feel about the sweet and sour sauce that comes with it. The mapo tofu was the only miss. It lacked the essential mapo flavor. The sauce was bland and diluted. The service was friendly and efficient. Casual vibe. Great for lunch or dinner with family or friends. Pretty legit for the area and comfortable for the uninitiated. There is a decent amount of parking in front especially considering it's in the Galleria area.

The beef noodle soup and the shrimp, pork and chive dumplings were both top notch. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area for sure. I'm coming back to try their other options soon.

Was really excited to try Dumpling and Noodles as the Cooking Girl group never disappoints. We got there a bit early for dinner, which was a good call as it got pretty packed as the evening progressed on Sunday. We started off with the scallion pancake and it was cooked and flavored well. We then got an order of the soup dumplings, and quickly realized that a second order was in our not so distant future. We also tried the thumb buns, which are a good option if you wanna get something different. The spicy chicken dish was also spot on - quite spicy just the way I like it. The staff was really nice, they even gave our kids some cool balloons. Looking forward to trying some of their noodle dishes like the beef noodle soup. Also can't wait till their upcoming Heights location, I have a feeling I'll be a frequent flyer.

Came here twice...once for the dinner and the other time for the lunch special. Family owned place where the service isn't the quickest but definitely fairly quick for takeouts. I got beef and broccoli lunch special didn't really like the egg drop soup given since it felt really cornstarchy. Yes it's the sign of the times when wonton soup was given before yes for free. The beef was a little chewy and wished that they gave me more broccoli. My dinner was ok also I had sesame chicken and was ok. Inside of the restaurant was clean.

Super adorable, little place! Staff was really friendly, and place was spotless. Everything we ate was perfect and also came out quickly. It is also woman owned #girlpower Definitely coming back!

The Beef noodle soup with hand made noodles was spicy, tasty and the beef was tender and loaded with flavor. I had enough left over for a large second meal at home. My wife loved it too. She shared her soup filled shrimp and pork dumplings (shrimp pork xiao long bao), they were almost as good as the beef soup. We shared an order of great crab cheese puffs, three to an order. Great food and service...we'll be back and we need to visit their other restaurant, Cooking Girl.

I did a to-go order on a Thursday afternoon (around 1pm), ordered egg drop soup, 2 orders of XLB pork and shrimp, spicy pork and shrimp wontons, and pan fried pork and shrimp dumplings. Everything was delicious! It took about 15 minutes to wait for the food so I'd probably recommend calling ahead if you're in a rush. As I was sitting there- I think Service is lacking. The 2 waitresses working were focused more on gossiping instead of servicing their tables because 3 tables had to get up to ask for the bill and they finally came over to help the guests pay out and get to-go ordered. Inside the set up is good for groups of 4-6, probably would have to move multiple tables together if groups are larger than that but overall food was delicious so I'd definitely recommend!

Craving dumplings while in the neighborhood and loved the idea of supporting a women owned business. The food here is fantastic and the decor is bright, clean and pleasant. Service is solicitous without being intrusive. We tried a little of this and a little of that and all were delicious.

Wow! First time here and everything and everyone couldn't have been better! We had pork & shrimp XLB, pork & shrimp shu mai, shrimp with garlic sauce, Dan Dan noodles and shrimp & asparagus potstickers. A lot of food, but after a bite of each we took the shrimp with garlic sauce and the Dan Dan home for work lunches tomorrow. We finished everything else. Everything is so fresh, and perfectly cooked. We're already planning what new things to order on our next visit. Service was great and the ambiance is adorable

The xiao long bao here are really good! They're large and have a lot of soup in them. The truffle ones were delicious. The spicy pork ones were good as well. The green beans were garlicy and flavorful. The scallion pancakes were crispy and yummy. It came with sweet and sour sauce which was weird. We made our own sauce with the soy sauce, red vinegar and chili peppers in oil that was on the table. We also had to make our own sauce for the dumplings. The mapo tofu was the only disappointment. It tasted very diluted and watery. It lacked flavor and was VERY bland. I would come back to try some more dishes for sure. The service was attentive and friendly. The dining room was very casual. Plenty of free parking as it is in a strip center.

Very good for quick fast Chinese food that is more authentic than Panda Express. Fantastic that it's locally owned.

Cooking girl has always been a solid chinese restaurant and dumplings and noodles is no different to me. The interior was nice and modernized interior. Service was very good, attentive staff. We ordered the wonton soup, potstickers, mapo tofu, and soup dumplings. The wontons were nice and tender, soup dumplings were fairly solid for a restaurant chain, and mapo tofu was savory, but could've been a little spicier and "mala" for my tastes. However, I've come back since and simply asked for the mapo tofu to be extra hot and it's been much better. The only let down was the potstickers, which lacked a bit in flavor and had too much garlic chives on the inside rather than meat filling. Would definitely recommend and I would come back!

Met up with an old roommate at dumplings & noodles by Cooking Girl in Houston. This is the same chain as Cooking Girl but this specific restaurant specializes in dumplings and noodles instead. There is plenty of parking here and their menu is pretty extensive. We ordered the pork xiao long bao, pork scallion thumb bun, pork cabbage spicy sour dumpling, and Mongolian beef. The soup dumplings were plump and full of soup. The soup broth was very flavorful and the meat filling was pretty big as well. They have a condiment tray of soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil available at every table for your dumplings as well. The thumb buns were on the smaller side but they surprisingly had a lot of juice inside of them as well. I loved how they had a crispy bottom, it adds a crunch to the dumpling as well. The spicy sour dumplings were my friend's favorite item. It was not as sour as I thought it was going to be, which I liked. I even took some of the soup and added it to my soup dumpling as well. The Mongolian beef was just okay. It wasn't as tender as I've usually had it and the beef was a little on the salty side. All of the dumpling options we have tried were really solid though. Very solid spot in the galleria area

Spicy pork soup dumplings and beef noodle soup were our orders. Very yummy!!! Very very. Service was attentive and appropriate. Easy pay, no waiting. I will be back! Give it a try- you won't be disappointed.

The food here is good definitely order at least two food items because the portions are pretty big . The staff here is small and friendly. The prices here are a lil expensive. The inside of the place is cleaned . Overall it's alright .

I cannot rave enough about this place! The food is just so damn good! It's a must when I come to town to visit my daughter. On our latest visit we had the spicy chicken, Mongolian beef, salt and pepper shrimp, garlic shrimp, fried green beans, pork buns and fried chicken and asparagus wontons. Every single bite was heaven. If you like good and fairly authentic Chinese food this place is hard to beat. Service has always been good also, even when it's busy, which seems to be most eat times, lol.

This place is sooooo good. It's a spacious and clean. The beef noodle soup is my favorite. The hand pulled noodles are chewy and bouncy and the soup is so flavorful. The dan dan mian sauce is so tasty too. It's been a long time since I wrote a review so that means something! You've got to try this place!

First time at this Cooking Girl location- it didn't disappoint! Love the fried green be and- flavorful and just the right amount of salt- steamed rice was perfect- I like it sticky so it pairs well with the green beans and Mapo Tofu. The tofu was tasty and not oily like some other places- We also ate shrimp-asparagus pan fried dumplings- handmade and tasty too! The only issue I had were the scallion pancakes which were too thin and dry. No scallion taste. But this place was clean, attentive waitstaff and delicious food. It is located in a strip center with ample parking near the Galleria.

Tried this place today and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very fresh, restaurant was very clean, and the customer service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I almost always get dumplings and they were excellent. They were a bit unusual because i think they had corn in them, which sounds weird, but it was still really good! Rice was about as good as I've ever had. Rice is easy, but I have had bad rice before!

I love the cooking girl location on Holcombe near the Med Center and I was excited to see a location in the galleria area as well. This location has some incredible soup dumplings that you cannot find in other locations. 10/10 recommend the pork or shrimp soup dumplings as well as the Spicy Chicken Cube (Perfect level of spice, crunch and flavor).

I wish I could've liked the food here but it was just okay. We ordered the fried chicken today as an appetizer and it literally came out as crumbs, almost "bottom of the bag" crumb type. It was like pecking with crumbs with a chopstick, terrible. A bad rendition of Taiwanese style popcorn chicken. The lunch portions are decent but the food is just okay as mentioned. I liked the crispy veggie egg roll and the hot and sour soup was filling and warm. These were the items I enjoyed within our lunch hangout. These 2 items are complimentary when you dine in for their lunch menu deal. The beef and broccoli lunch choice was decent. It was fresh and warm, not that salty. Paired well with steamed rice. I appreciated the flavors but I would try something else next time around from their main menu item. I like food on the spicier side and would try one of their pepper based items. I have had their hot diving fish in the past and it's decent, similar to other Cooking Girl locations. But, this location is a little different with the emphasis of "dumplings and noodles" Steamed beef and onion dumplings are good, I suggest that item if you're looking to dine-in. I have to admit that I like the food at their other locations better. I have always enjoyed dining in or getting "to-go" from most Cooking Girl locations. But this location is subpar at best. They do have nice and cordial customer service and it's conveniently located within the Houston Galleria area. This part of town doesn't have too many options for this style of cuisine. I hope y'all can improve in some aspects. Their iced milk tea/boba drinks look good. Perhaps I'll revisit and grab an go' a drink and a small item. Toodles and see ya next time!

Delicious, friendly service, variety of options. Wife and I were craving some noodles and dumplings and we found this cute little place not far from our hotel. Sat down and immediately ordered a scallion pancake (Wife's favorite) along with our drinks. Went through the menu and had a tough time limiting ourselves, but decided to go with the truffle soup dumplings, steamed pork bao, beef and onion fried dumplings, and the pork fried noodles. Noodles came out first, hot and fresh. Perfect chew on the noodles, tender pork, crisp veggies, and a delightful sauce. Then the fried dumplings, crispy on one side, and filled with a flavorful mix of beef and onions-so moist. Then our scallion pancakes came out. It was light and had layer after layer of crisp dough. We like a little more dark sesame oil in ours, but this one was still fantastic. Then our pork bao and soup dumplings arrived. Best of each we have ever had. Most steamed pork bao have a high dough to filling ratio, not these. They dialed back the dough to allow for more of the tasty pork filling. Then the soup dumplings. OMgoodness were they flavorful. Rich, umami-bomb broth and filling. Wow. Wow. Wow. Our server was very nice and attentive, hustling here and there working all the tables and to-go orders solo. She deserves a raise!

Great dumplings. Excellent food! Skip the Chinese food and stick to the dumplings, they're very good.

Second Time Visiting - SAME PROBLEM. The food was good BUT THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND NON-EXISTENT. There were only two other customers and 2 to 3 weight staff so I don't understand why we did not receive good service. We came in the late afternoon and had a late lunch. It took several minutes for the waitress to come by and take our drink and food order. And when she did, she did not have a pleasant face. During the entire meal, no one ever came by to check on us to see if we needed anything. I had to push our dishes to the edge of the table to signal that we were done, and finally they came by to check. I don't understand why it's so hard to give friendly service with a smile.

The food here is all packed with so much flavor. The Taiwanese Fried Chicken is so juicy, with a slight crunch. The Chicken Fried Noodle was so surprisingly flavorful and delicious, despite it being such a common dish. The soup dumplings were constructed so well, that it didn't pop when you pick it up and place it in your spoon, like other places. Not pictured were the thumb buns and cheese puffs, which were also delicious! The service and the ambiance were also spectacular. Everyone was kind and the restaurant is super kid friendly. They even have a nice outdoor seating area.

This place has become one of my low key favorite spots! It has all my favorite dishes from cooking girl, but also adds the dumpling concept that's pretty solid! Spicy wonton, soup dumplings, mapo tofu, spicy fried chicken bites are my favorites.

Fast service, very friendly and delicious pan fried beef dumplings. I really like this place because it's close to the salon and very clean. Highly recommend if you're in a pinch or if you are getting your hair done and are starving.

The braised pork steamed bun was on its own so good that this must be 5 stars. The dough for all dumpling related things is of the highest quality you'll find. The green beans and boiled dumplings were also very good. Everything single thing on our table, even the things that weren't "5 star worthy" were at the least very fresh. As others have remarked, very clean Outside of the dough, the steamed dumplings were not any better than what you can find elsewhere. They also had a couple of issues with intermediate supply (rice and cucumbers) in the kitchen. Overall, the consensus from other people seemed to be that the high ratings were for their specialties, not the "standard Chinese food" you would order anywhere. This was 100% accurate.

Absolutely a gotta try place. Dumplings were outstanding. Service was fast and courteous. Cant wait to go back. It is in a shopping mall near Galleria.

Have loved cooking girl on Montrose for years and it has been A plus. Excited to have this location so close to home. The restaurant is very clean and inviting . Staff is amazing . The menu is not the same , however the service is Aplus. The dumplings and noodle dishes are A plus. After trying a few of the other entrees with disappointment as the meat was tough , we tried orange chicken last night , which we have loved at the Montrose location . It was very tough to chew and no flavor . Essentially inedible . Stick with their noodle dishes and dumplings and especially the eggplant and green beans .

In town on business and stumbled on this gem -- so glad we did! Dumplings & Noodles by Cooking Girl is now officially on my "must-return" list. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with nice clean decor and a team that made us feel right at home. We started with the beef and onion dumplings (first time trying them!) and they were SO good -- crispy one side, juicy inside, just perfect. Then came the chicken fried rice (so flavorful!) pleasant surprise and the Mongolian beef -- tender, savory, slightly sweet, and honestly kind of addictive. We enjoyed it with their peach and green tea -- super refreshing and just the right touch to wrap up the meal. Total hidden gem. Don't skip this place if you're nearby -- you'll leave full and happy!

I hadn't had breakfast and was pressed for time. I came across this place by sheer happen stance.....talk about finding a diamond in the rough. I had the pork dumpling and beef and cabbage pot stickers. They were both very good but the pork dumplings were amazing. The place is very clean and the waiter was friendly. I like dumplings but it's not something I have historically searched out. Can't recommend this place enough!

Great dim sum! Many varieties of dumplings. Don't miss the pan fried beef and onion dumplings and the scallion pancake.

First time trying out this place and honestly SO delicious. I love the crab cheese puffs and the brown sugar rice rolls. The dumplings are SUPER delicious.

Amazing food, atmosphere and customer service . This is sure a hidden gem in Houston. Handmade dumplings are their specialty and all tasted delicious . We had spicy soup, pan seared dumplings and soup dumplings . Garlic green beans and cucumbers are great. Very refreshing ! The fresh green orange tea are made with fresh fruits and very reasonable . We had an fantastic meal . Highly recommended if you are in Houston !

We got the same food we would from the Montrose location. It was 'meh'. They don't have consistency between the locations. Sugarland location outright sucks. Service was adequate. Vibe/ambiance was perhaps too sterile. We will return for the noodles/dumplings for 2nd chance

All handmade dumplings and excellent service. Almost don't want to write a review because I don't want it to get too busy! But my favorites were the spicy wonton soup and the mini buns, but the shrimp chive pot stickers were also sooooo good. They also have soup dumplings, which aren't my favorite soup dumplings, but all of the other handmade dumplings make this place my new go-to dumpling spot YUMMY! Also the waitress was so lovely, refilled our waters a million times, and gave my kids little animal balloons at the end. Top notch!

8 of us ordered many different things. No one was disappointed. All the food was excellent and each came out pipping hot.
