Yelp
TL;DR - Nice hotel, great food, amazing views.
My parents have raved about Dunmore House for years - although they live in the UK, they visit Clonakilty once a year and always come here at least once during their visit. Since I was with them on this occasion, a visit was inevitable.
We were lucky with weather, and I mention this because if you're lucky too then the views are spectacular out to sea and across to Inchydonney beach.
The interior is lovely and we were greeted by a roaring fire. We sat in the bar area which was cosy, although I thought some of the art on the wall was a little odd!
To eat, I had the beef lasagne which was a special of the day and was delicious. My parents both had burgers which they said from previous visits were known to be great and they were very satisfied once again. We were also with a couple of friends, one of whom had the veggie fish and chips (halloumi in a seaweed batter) and loved it... the other had lamb shank and it's fair to say I had food envy - you could see the meat falling off the bone.
For dessert I went for the orange, carrot and almond cake with hazelnut ice cream which was sublime. I've been googling how to make it myself ever since!
