Dunmore House Hotel

Such a great hotel and restaurant !!! Such a pleasant homey feeling. People are extremely friendly (Caroline at the reception and Julie in the restaurant) The staff here genuinely want to pamper you and make you feel at home. The location is perfect and within walking distance of the beach. The rooms are clean and cosy, with a very comfy bed and a lovely bedquilt. The food in the restaurant is excellent, and the breakfast was sooooo good. Everything is made with so much love. It’s truly a treat to stay here !!!! Lucky me :-)

We had a wonderful stay at the Dunmore House Hotel! Our room had the most stunning sea view that we will never forget waking up to! The food was 10/10 and maybe the most gorgeous breakfast I’ve ever had with eggs from their own hens and kale picked as I ordered from their garden. Just Devine! We were blessed by perfect weather and my niece is extraordinarily well planned. But only this hotel could have pulled off such a perfect event. A beautiful coastal side ceremony. While pictures were happening the finger food and bar kept us happy. The meal itself had to hit high standards an East Cork Bride marries a Parisian French man. Loved the whole experience here.

We only stayed one night but wished we had stayed longer. Our plans took us all over the western coast to retrace our heritage and we wished we stayed there longer. The rooms are spacious and modern. The views are incredible. The bathrooms are fairly new and were very clean. It feels like a family run establishment with a tremendous amount of pride. The staff are professional but casual. They were all amazing to speak and laugh with. The dinner and breakfest was great. The dinner is a little on the pricey side for those on a budget, but we'll worth it. My only complaint was the WIFI...it is unstable and dropped out often. However, this forced me not to work and to enjoy the moment...which was much appreciated.

Staying close by and was recommended this place by our hosts. Quaint, very clean and friendly. Extremely amused at our waiter who had a heavy Cork accent, which is great, employing local people. |The chap was attentive without being intrusive and the service was extremely good.|The Food itself was lovely and although I did think it was overpriced, I'd have to say, it was very good value for money.|The ingredients were fresh, beautifully cooked and well presented.|On the whole would thoroughly recommend.

I enjoyed my two night stay at Dunmore House Hotel. Shower was excellent, a great selection for breakfast to choose from including hot food made to order . Lovely fresh water available for guests to take at night . Plenty of parking and a lovely reception area with plenty of seats to relax ||While I did have a sea view which I did appreciate I felt the room was a little small, just basic TV channels. I had dinner my first night while it was nice I did feel it was expensive at €25 for chicken goujons and fries . The wine was lovely and price for the wine was comparable to other hotels . ||Staff were very friendly and helpful|PS no lifts but staff did help with luggage ||Due to the bad weather the boat shed pizza wasn’t open , hopefully next time !

Dunmore House Hotel is a true gem! From the moment we arrived, the reception was warm, friendly, and incredibly welcoming — they made us feel right at home. The views are absolutely breathtaking — overlooking the sea, it’s the perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of West Cork. The hotel has a lovely, peaceful atmosphere, and the garden is a must-visit! It’s beautifully kept and adds so much charm to the property. Highly recommend staying here — it’s the perfect mix of comfort, scenery, and genuine Irish hospitality.

A walk in for an evening meal on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was fully booked but the bar food was available and it did not disappoint. It was excellent. I would highly recommend the food here. The serving staff were very friendly and attentive. I can't fault them. It's in a beautiful location, even a dreary October evening didn't take away from the scenery.

TL;DR - Nice hotel, great food, amazing views. My parents have raved about Dunmore House for years - although they live in the UK, they visit Clonakilty once a year and always come here at least once during their visit. Since I was with them on this occasion, a visit was inevitable. We were lucky with weather, and I mention this because if you're lucky too then the views are spectacular out to sea and across to Inchydonney beach. The interior is lovely and we were greeted by a roaring fire. We sat in the bar area which was cosy, although I thought some of the art on the wall was a little odd! To eat, I had the beef lasagne which was a special of the day and was delicious. My parents both had burgers which they said from previous visits were known to be great and they were very satisfied once again. We were also with a couple of friends, one of whom had the veggie fish and chips (halloumi in a seaweed batter) and loved it... the other had lamb shank and it's fair to say I had food envy - you could see the meat falling off the bone. For dessert I went for the orange, carrot and almond cake with hazelnut ice cream which was sublime. I've been googling how to make it myself ever since!

Best food, best service, fabulous staff, the most beautiful ocean view in Ireland!!! Dunmore maintains this restaurant 8mpeccably. Do not miss this exceptional place.

It seems I have come at a time when Dunmore House has been renovated because the place looks immaculate with modern fittings. I can still smell the paint so that's a giveaway too ;) I had the best nights sleep in a while as the beds were so comfortable. I even booked myself an extra night. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. It has a real family run feel. Breakfast was amazing too. There was a cereal buffet and a menu which I ordered pancakes which were delicious. The next morning I had the full Irish. You can't go to Clonakilty and not have their famous pudding ;) I can't speak highly enough about this place. Spectacular views, peace and quiet. Perfect stay for me!

Beautiful location, just can't beat it. Service is fine, could be a lot better. Food isn't great, and a bit if a ripoff (afternoon tab is essentially half of one kind of sandwich and a scone for €20!)

I've been at weddings in this hotel twice now. It has a spectacular view of the sea which really adds to your visit. The food is consistently good. Its a small hotel, and so if there's a wedding there, you tend to have the whole hotel. Its very comfortable and the staff will do whatever they can to accommodate the craic you're having!
