Dunn's Famous

Absolutely HOUSED some smoke meat post physical activity and it was absolutely worthy. This place has a nice charm, and plays good music. Service was efficient and very well done. The food was excellent. We ate here around 6:30 on a Saturday on a holiday weekend and the crowd levels were not large at all surprisingly. Smoked meat gets a 10/10 l, but having said that, I have only ever had it 3 times so take my rating with a grain of salt. Has the Montreal charm you are looking for.

I recently dined at Dunn's Famous and had a fantastic experience. Our server was exceptional, providing attentive and friendly service throughout our meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza, which was quite good considering this is primarily a smoked meat restaurant. However, the highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the smoked meat sandwich. It was incredibly delicious, with tender, flavorful meat that left me wanting more. Overall, Dunn's Famous exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return!

Ok food fast in an ok atmosphere. Sit toward front to avoid fruit flies buzzing tables in back. Worst poutine in Montreal. Hard to disappoint with Poutine but Dunns dun it. Smoked meet was dry. Add sauerkraut or something to add necessary moisture

We ate here twice during our trip to Montreal in April 2024 and Dunn’s is consistently fantastic. REAL French fries and piled high Montreal smoked meat with mouthwatering side of fresh Cole slaw and a giant juicy pickle. Holy moly! What a delight! Our servers were excellent during both visits.

Oh my gosh, what a funky place and AMAZING smoked meat. The cole slaw is very unique yet delicious. The onion soup was filled with onions! Loved that. Even the French fries were great. Service was great.

This place was decent. I enjoyed the interior, adorned with numerous photos depicting the history of Dunn’s business—it felt like a journey through time. The service was excellent; the servers were kind and attentive. The food arrived quickly and, while tasty, it wasn't particularly outstanding. A previous review mentioned the bun being dry, which I found to be true, and there wasn't much meat in the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were inconsistent, with some flavorful and others bland. This was my first time in Montreal and at this restaurant. While I would consider returning, there are definitely better options available.

We tried Dunn’s for the first time and the service was impeccably fast. The host was patient with us as well. Although we ordered take-out, the place had a nice ambiance with lots of seating. We got poutine as well as the smoked meat sandwich. We also ordered the Dunn’s famous smoked meat poutine and the smoked meat burger. The smoked meat poutine was covered in smoked meat and packed with flavour. There was a perfect ratio of cheese curds to gravy to fries as well. The smoked meat burger did not quite live up to our expectations. The burger patty itself was dry and there was only a few slices of smoked meat. On the other hand, the smoked meat sandwich was great! Highly recommend. If you’re ever in Montreal, definitely hit up this spot.

I heard this’s one of most famous restaurants in Montreal so I went there early and did a take-away order. The sandwich and poutine were AMAZING! the amount of food is huge and the taste was definitely worth people to get up early.
