Duo-Pot

We stopped in for dinner the other night. There is ample parking available in the parking lot. The restaurant is located off the beaten path but worth the discovery. We came in for hot pot. Please note this is not an AYCE place. But the quality here will make you come back. We got the pork tripe chicken broth. I could drink this all day. We got an assortment of vegetables. We got corn, various mushrooms, bamboo shoots, tofu, greens and water chestnuts. All so good and so fresh. For proteins we got ribeye, beef tongue, and lamb. Everything was so fatty and flavorful. Such great quality meat. We also got a few appetizers. The popcorn mushrooms are my new favorite. The mashed garlic cucumbers were crispy and delicious. They also have skewers and we got chicken hearts, which is a personal favorite. And we also got a beef tongue plate. So good and the Chili's brought the heat. Such friendly service and delicious comfort food will make this a place to come back to again and again.

We ordered the coconut chicken pot and it definitely surprised us. It’s the first time we tried something like this. The broth was basically coconut juice and the pot itself had a lot of chicken. Even though they gave us a generous amount of chicken, we found fur on the chicken skin. We confronted the employees and they told us that it might have been the cleaning process which was not thorough enough. They offered us another plate of chicken but we said no because we were already full.

坐在秋天的風裡，記憶很慢，回憶很遠，深秋的日記裡沒有詞語， 適合沉醉在甜蜜記憶裏~ 今天要介紹在我家最最受歡迎的牛肉麵跟水餃，祥記，記憶中最接近台灣牛肉麵跟水餃該有味道， 之前開在 Nogales 一個偏僻酒吧裏，我記得我弟弟從外州回來時派他跟兒子去拿牛肉麵時，我弟弟還懷疑我是不是給錯地方了，現在他們搬家了跑到羅蘭岡香港超市那裡，在臭豆腐大王旁邊，一樣是粉偏僻，根本都看不到店面的地方，老闆到底有什麼問題， 都喜歡找這種冷門的店鋪， 言歸正傳，我跟兒子喜歡他家的韭菜水餃，韭菜鮮蝦水餃，女兒則愛高麗菜水餃，牛肉湯則是唯一一家我會點牛肉湯來吃的店家， 香濃的牛肉味伴隨著他家特有的中藥味，一級棒啦，點牛肉湯餃兩樣都嚐得到， 很幸福，雖然這一次我們沒有點，但滷味也很好吃，也是推薦，還嚐了他家的長沙臭豆腐，也不錯，回去時， 我也買了兒子指名要我買給他的冷凍水餃跟牛肉湯包，如果你喜歡台灣道地口味的牛肉麵， 這家你該來試試～ 祥記牛肉麵, 也叫 duo pot‍‍

My friend recommended me this place. It had 3 stars and I was bit concerned. However, when I got the food, I thought it was one of the best hot pot there is. You can actually drink the broth like a soup. The service was good and ambiance was good as well. It's just that it is hard to find since you need to go to the ally to find this place. I really enjoyed the food. Will come back here again!

Overpriced not worth of 50$ per person ,I was still hungry when I left not a good experience here .the water tastes like dirty rags. We arrived when they just opened. Do yourself a favor and don't come here. Service was ok . Nothing more to report.

Just ordered the delivery, very disappointed. $8 dollars, never received that few pieces! What happened? It sucks! Will NOT come back at all!

We went to there several times before and we loved their pots. However last time we went there, they accidentally served us the wrong pot that different from our order. That was fine though. We didn't notice until ate some of it, and let them know once we found out. They took it away and gave us the one we wanted. However, when we asked if they were going to throw away the wrong pot because we ate some already, the lady who looked like the boss answered quickly that they will give this to other guests. We were shocked. She said this because we were asking whether we could keep the wrong pot if they would throw it away, it was a waste to us. And the lady said no and they need it for others... We ATE IT ALREADY!!! We couldn't believe what we heard... And that was the last time we went there...

Bad food quality. Seems owner recently changed. They are even dishonest on the menu price. The coconut chicken soup is $49.99 on menu, but $59.99 on the check... worse than the service is the taste and the quality of the food, not recommended at all.

I really like this place . Maybe some people think it's a little bit pricy , but I think all the ingredients are very fresh which you can taste from the soup. I always order coconut chicken and a side dish of dry pot . They are perfect combinations. When you eat spicy food and then take a sip of the coconut soup ,the feeling it's amazing ! What else can you ask for !

Took my gf to celebrate her bday at Duopot. I've been here twice before back in 2014. The quality still remained the same! Dry pot + hot pot = perfect combination. The summer special coconut chicken hot pot is also really good !! We also ordered fresh squeezed watermelon juice which is right on. Ambience is pretty clean and the service is friendly. They also play some good Chinese movies just in case you want to take a break from eating all the good food. Parking is easy as it's in the mall parking lot. The only disadvantage is it's located at the end of the food alley and it's also next to a stinky tofu restaurant, though you don't smell it at all once you are inside. I would recommend everyone to go try it out, you will not regret it!

We ordered the pork tripe w/ chicken hot pot. The broth is soooo good! The snacks are good as well. Highly recommend.

It's funny seeing all the retarded comments about services, if you go to a legit Chinese restaurant, you don't go for the service, it's the food that matters. It's even more idiotic saying the food quality is bad, they literally use Wen-Chang chicken. SMH.

I'm writing this review as I'm sitting on the toilet. I'm pretty sure this place is what made my stomach hurt and causing my butt hole to burn. My friends and I came here last night and got the duo pot (dry pot/hot pot). The whole idea and the food was not bad, the only complaint I have is that it was SUPER salty, very oily and filled with MSG. Their pricing is really weird here. There's little hidden fees everywhere if you don't pay attention to it. Such as, the dry pot and hot pot itself was around $33 +$2 for shrimp +$2 for fish. We also added lettuce, cabbage, oyster mushrooms (that they forgot to put in, but still charged us anyway), tofu skin, juicy fish balls, and lamb. The oyster mushroom (they didn't put this in) and tofu skin were the only two items that was suppose to/was in the dry pot. Everything else was for the mini hotpot. Since it was so salty, we didn't even get to finish our food. Service was okay. Overall, the food was okay. Total bill came out to around $64 for 3 people. Quite pricy for what it is and what we got, which was saltiness, bloating, possible pimples from the oiliness, diarrhea, and 3 burning butt holes.

"Don't judge the book by the its cover" I always wanted to try dry pot, this one always in my bucket list to try. In a short word, do not get fooled by the lack of customer. The food here is actually very good in a short summarized of my review. Their best thing in this place, is their dry pot !!. This is what separate from a typical hot pot. The food in the dry pot tasted like you eaten in a wok. It tasted quite fresh in that style, a small pot in the middle for dipping meat and veggie. Most hot pot just serve you raw meat and you dumping all in the pot, but this one actually had gourmet side dish. Such as omg the toothpick lamb, I never see they serve this in any pot place. The spicy level here is higher than you typical hot pot, little hot is like medium hot for some people. The fruit and herb juice are not oversweet, it taste just the way it is. The server was superb and very friendly, this is one of cleaner hot pot place I been too. I had to said the worst thing about this restaurant is the location. It located in the edge of the plaze. Next to the King Sticky Tofu and Boba Bear. Unlike the Arcadia location, which is in a much better location. Also their raw meat isn't on par with some other pot. The beef tongue was very good, but the lamb and ribeye is just ok. The quality of toothpick is mix result, some piece are very tender, while other isn't. Same goes to the tofu skin, which there were few hard piece. The dry pot food were delicious but is a bit oily I think this is the only place in L.A. serve both hot pot and dry pot in the same pot ! It depend you taste preference, if you want to hit both in the same spot, then this is it. But if you prefer more in dry pot or hot pot. Then go to a specialty one. I am dry pot addicted now =)

FINALLY! I've finally found a place that sells GOOD dry pot that actually has an authentic Northeast Chinese flavor. Little did you know, but the owner is actually from Northeast China (my city...represent!). She's a super sweet, fun, friendly, and pretty lady (apparently we look alike? haha). The waiters are also pretty awesome. Maybe because I came with a group who basically come here more than they go home, but they were so funny and I felt like i've known them since forever. Anyways! Moving on to the food: first things first...the spice was legit. When it comes to dry pot (麻辣香锅), you have to fulfill the 麻辣 first. Which is basically spiciness and numbness (?). For the hot pot, we only had the Australian lamb and the premium beef. The meat was really tender and yummy and the broth for the hot pot was just the right flavor and saltiness. I loved it! For the dry pot..we added A LOT of ingredients. Some of which consisted of my favorites: Lotus Root (I wish it wasn't so scrawny and wrinkled), Shrimp (This was BIG. You are getting what you pay for. Lots of meat), Spam, Pork Belly, Bamboo Shoot, Fish Balls, Mushrooms, Potatoes (they were awesome), Bean Curd Skin, Vermicelli Noodles, etc. The menu here is very confusing btw. Overall, the taste was what I was looking for. After constantly eating this in China, I was so desperate for something like this near me. The pricing is decent. Yes, you may think $90+ for this meal is ridiculous, but this is similar to the pricing in China. Anyways, I do like dry pot in China better, but this makes up for what I'm missing thousands of miles away.

I enjoyed my experience here. How it works -There are 2 sections in a pot. The outer rim (dry section) and an inner rim (soup section). 1) You have a dry section. You can opt to pick 1 meat or up to 4 meats. We picked stuff like intestine, pork, and beef. We also added veggies like mushrooms & lotus'. This is all stir fried and thrown on the outside w/ the sauce you pick (hot, medium, low spicy levels). It's pretty darn tasty and our party of 4 had trouble finishing the 3 meat-option. Everything is pretty salty tho. I wish they had an alcohol license 'cause this stuff goes perfect w/ beer. 2) You have a soup section (inside). We went w/ Szechuan soup base which was good, but really spicy. We also opted to add fish balls, hot-pot meats, and some veggies to dip inside. The Szechuan soup is really good but too darn spicy. I'd opt for something different next time. TIPS: -Stuff here is super spicy. The stir fry we ordered was medium and that came out OK. the soup base, Szechuan, was waaaay to spicy. I think the Szechuan soups killed me You've been warned. -I think the portions here are extremely large so it's better to come w/ a large group -Located in the same plaza as Hong Kong Supermarket / Supreme Dragon

Wow first of all, just because I didn't speak Chinese walking in doesn't meet I don't understand the language and it's no excuse for the lady to be rude. Sat down, what you want? I want hot pot, "ok which one" she sighs and says before we even got the chance to sit down and view the menu. Like you have a total of two customers in this place, represent yourselves better.. and I ended up paying $47 for what I thought was a good amount of food, but sadly my guest and I left hungry. They didn't say goodbye and would stare at you as they pass you by, with a blank expression on their faces, much like there "business"...

I went to meet my friend in Rowland Heights at HK market, so my friend recommended to try the hot pot nearby restaurant. Finally we choose duo pot. The soup we got was the chicken with fresh coconut water. This soup base was delicious!The chicken meat very tender, I love this flavor. Furthermore they will add the fresh coconut water help you to refill the soup base. I also order my favorite dessert of coconut jello, I like they using fresh coconut as a container, it's so fresh and yummy!

If Yelp allows I'd leave no star...I'm aware that most of Chinese restaurants are known for bad services but this one offered the worst inattentive service, the waiter was so lack of energy and surely didn't know how to smile. Good wise, us three girls spend $60 bucks on the dry pot, ordered 5 extra items, sounded a lot of food right? The truth was we finished everything and left with half full stomachs...for every extra items we ordered, the cost was from 3-5 bucks, I kid you not we probably only got couple pieces of each items... So not worth the time and money.

Good friend of ours bought our dinner at this place. The restaurant mainly sells southern styled chinese food, which many Chinese like. I ate the hot pot/ drypot combo. And my boyfriend ate the coconut chicken, good for regaining your lost strength. It tasted good, especially the coconut chicken. The salty-sweet glaze permeates the chicken from both inside and out. The servers were friendly enough also. I liked it and it is a good place to come for a home-cooked styled chinese food.

Couldn't hit the perfect mark, but definitely a pretty good place to try for sure. Never tried dry hotpot before so me and my family thought we'd give it a shot. We ordered the dry hotpot with pork ribs and beef shank, tendon and tripe. The flavors were amazing! Glad that we chose the mild spicy because it was pretty damn spicy already. Then we got some regular hotpot with some meat, fish rice balls, veggies, and this shrimp meatball that the lady worker recommended which were all pretty good, nothing too special. The soup was this chicken, pork and beef bone soup which was really good to drink after we did all the cooking for the hotpot. Overall the service was kind of slow even though they only had like 4-5 tables, can't imagine what it would be like if they had a full restaurant. The lady waiter was super nice and recommended all the right things and I'm glad I was able to try it out. For my family (4 of us), bill came out to be around $60 which is pretty good since we were all stuffed. Good experience, will definitely recommend to bring friends sometimes! P.S. THIS PLACE IS PRETTY HARD TO FIND. it's in the back corner of the HK2 plaza, but they have a huge sign saying where the restaurant is. And afterwards, my entire family was thirsty as hell, I don't know what it was, but there must of been a ton of MSG in one of the dishes.

i went there in a large group. First, the environment there is great, not noisy like some other hot pot place, makes it great place to hang out with friends like a hot pot place should always be. Second, more importantly, the food, spicy and tasty. I really like the way the put fresh coconut water into the pot, more a pot of chicken soup to me. I have never tried that before. That's makes the restaurant good too! The service is accommodating. I will come back

Small dishes, $59.99 for only soup and chicken. $110 before tax for only 2 ppl. Wait for half an hour for the foods, will never go again!!!

My friend and I came there today and ordered coconut chicken. 50$ for just the soup and chicken. It turned out that several dishes have different prices on the bill than on the menu. Do they even know about that? Or did they do it on purpose to rip off people? We only ordered one Nagagimo. It showed 2 for 9.90$. It's really outrageous. Other reviewers also seem to have the price discrepancy problem. I'll never go back to this place again. There are lots of better places to go. Please don't waste your money here. My friend and I went back to them and showed them the price discrepancy. They apologized and returned us the price difference. In the end, they gave us a free coconut pudding. That's nice of them, but really hope they can update their prices on menu.

Just being honest ! First of all, they have Such a bad bad bad service ! The two waitresses are arguing in front of customers! And, it is kind pricey here! We spend 147$ for 3 people. The quality of their food is bad too! The meet is hard to chew! Never gonna come here again!

I have been looking for this chicken soup for the longest time and finally found them! The best chicken soup hot pot in entire california. First, the sevices amazed me with wonderful greeting and smile. Secondly, the food was so perfect and especially the chicken soup. The soup was so dense and delicious. I will definitely be back every weekend for this soup because the ingredients are very healthy unlike other chinese hot pot restaurant. If i give them stars rating, i would give them 10/5 if theres an option for 10 stars!!!

Whenever it comes to birthday dinners, I always remember where my group of friends and I end up going and what food we end up eating. The birthday celebrant wanted us to try some hot pot, so he suggested this place since it was relatively new when we went in January (he knew about Duo-pot since its other location is in Arcadia). The hotpot itself was alright but pricey. For a group of five to even feel content, the bill came out to be $130. There was a variety of choices (meat, seafood, vegetables) to order. We got the hot pot with two different soup bases (mild and spicy). The spicy soup base was the better choice for the vegetables and the meat. Fair warning: the spicy soup base is VERY strong. You could hear all five of us sniffling as we ate. The "juicy fish ball" (I think that's the american name) we ordered was surprisingly tasty in the soup bases. There's two reasons for the low rating. One was because of how awkward and unpleasant our server was. When we first walked in (this was around 6pm), the server was just standing there like he had never seen a customer. There were only two other tables being occupied at the time. We only sat down because another man came out and told us to take a seat. Whenever the birthday boy would order, the server just had this grumpy expression on his face. It seemed like it pained the server to refill our water and deliver the plates of food as well. I've had my fair share in experiences that not all places have stellar service, but I just didn't understand what the server's deal was. Everyone else who was working there seemed to be fine. After the meal, a lady even approached our table to ask if we liked the food and thanked us for trying their location. However, the huge factor was that four out of five of us ended up getting sick in the stomach after eating here. During the rest of the night, my stomach was clenching in utter misery. I wasn't sure if it was the quality of the meat or the soup, but it was odd that the majority of us got sick. Maybe it was just an unlucky experience, but the service and the upset stomach experience is steering me away from grabbing a meal here whenever I happen to be in the area.

Strongly not suggested, expensive, waste money, taste awful. The owner of this restaurant try to give you suggestion "kindly", but her real purpose is just try to make you order more than you can finish. It taste like $10 per person thing, but it costs us $35 per person! What's more, the prices on the bill of beef and lamb slice are different from the menu. $4.95 on menu and $6.95 on my bill! What the hell cheating this is! I uploaded the pictures as proof. Finally, Mention three times for important things, don't go, don't go, don't go!

This place is horrible. If I can give you guys a 0 star, I would have. 2 things straight 1. the amount of food is soooo little while super expensive. Beef tongue $8 with 8 little slices...the thickness is approx 1mm. 2. The service was so BAD. One of the server actually came over to give us a lesson with how to eat our food. She literally came and hold the pot lid so we cannot eat our food. Seriously WTF? I paid for my food, what kinds of server are you? No wonder they had to close the other location, no one would eat with this kinda service and food quality!

Ohhh Duo Pot, why couldn't you just be "dry pot"? The concept of this newly opened hot pot place is that they offer you a two-for-one cuisine special. When you order, you get a stir fried outer ring of dry pot style (popular with Szechuan type restaurants) as well as a small inner soup broth for you to cook hot pot selections with. The menu, to be honest, was a bit confusing. You select the primary ingredients for your dry pot (we picked crispy pork intestine) but you can mix and match items and well as add sides (spam, soy bean sprouts, mushrooms were all delicious). Then you go and pick your hot pot soup broth (we had a chance to try both the bone clear broth and the spicy ma la. Both were unimpressively bland with really no strong flavor.) and then order the items you want in your hot pot- beef slices, quail eggs, tofu, etc. Verdict? The strength at Duo Pot is in the spicy love affair of their dry pot. Well-seasoned and customizable, it doesn't have an overwhelming herbal taste like some locations but is tasty and kept warm on the same heat plate that is cooking your hot pot soup. It comes with some veggies and side items (altho an entire pot of just fried intestine sounds fabulous just the same). The pricing is kind of high- $24 for one item dry pot, +9.99 for an additional main meat selection. Your add-ons are all charged independently as well. However, I have to admit it was very tasty and the amount was incredibly generous. If I could, I think next time I will skip the hot pot and drink it as broth or just cook beef slices in it. The focus of the dry pot is where I want to feast on. The service was alright, the owner visited a few times when they got our order wrong. Apparently the new chef is still rusty, but we got over it. 3.5 stars. Skip the peach juice, it tastes like canned peaches blended with water and ice. Weird as heck.

This is hands down my favorite dry pot place!!! Never tried their hot pot or other stuff But whatever's since I asked my friends that has been here and they all agreed that the dry pot is the best to get anyways!!! There's usually empty seats here, though it's always a bonus for me that I know I can eat here whenever I want, on the other side, I really like this place and don't want them to close!! It is well seasoned and full of flavor!!! The base of the pot comes with fried potato and lotus (seriously too good) , carrots, cauliflower, bean sprouts as I remembered on the top of my head Me and my friends usually get the "beef" as the base and add add-on - spam - cauliflower - tofu (that sucks up the flavor!) - fish balls - cabbage I don't eat spicy but I get the less less less less less spicy option ~ The plum juice there is pretty good too if things gets too hot and you need something to ease the spiciness. I'll definitely be coming back over and over again P.s. Already bugged all of my friends and told them to come if they haven't tried this place yet

overpriced and oily food, taste mediocre, and very awkward service. it was literally empty when i came here. it was so weird coz the workers keep starring at us for the entire meal, which make us feel so unconfortable... for the food, i ordered the shrimp drypot for $28 including tax (no shabu2 or hotpot whatsoever). they only gave us 10pcs of shrimps and the rest is veggies.. so i paid $28 for veggies and 10pcs of shrimp!! definitely not worth it. and my stomach didnt feel so good after eating this drypot. maybe because of the greasiness and the msg i ate.. the rest of the meal are also very pricey. they charge $3.50 for a simple veggie for the hotpot, $8 for the meat, etc etc. meal for two can easily reach a good $60-$80 to be satisfied and full.. Boiling point is so much better and cheaper. cant find any reason to come back..

VERY SPICY!! I love it! Good tasty! This is my favorite! The only thing I think they need to change is, the store isn't warm and not fast.

Duo pot makes you can enjoy dry pot while having hot pot! I like spicy, the medium spicy dry pot is so good! Shrimp and pork belly are the best for dry pot, crispy and soft! Appetizers are good too, toothpick lamb is my first choice. The squid looks yum! Yellow peach juice is nice, really popular for girls.

Dinner for two. Food is still delicious however it seems that after spending 45 dollars for two , we are still hungry. It looks like they do not give as much as before.

Seriously, I don't know how can this restaurant survive. First of all, the service was terrible. They messed up our orders, and they put something that we didn't order into the pot. First, they persuaded us to keep it but after we refused to keep it, they PICK IT OUT OF THE POT PIECE BY PIECE! How cheap they are?!?

This is one of the worst place I have ever been. It is expensive considering what it provides. Two people for 120. Food tastes bad and not worth that price. Service is bad as well, it claims closing at 11:45 but starts suggesting you to check and leave before 10:30. Forget this place, your money deserve a better place.

I liked that there was dry-pot and the service was OK, even though there were only two other groups seated midday. They didn't flip the meat or mix it for us as they would for the other groups. The food though was plentiful and delicious. I would go again. The location is obscure, sure, but that's the whole plaza. It should be known that coming to this plaza that there are a lot, A LOT, of options. There's outdoor options, an alleyway, and even and indoor plaza. Don't hate them for you lack of discovery skills or understanding how big this plaza is even with the plaza sign in the front listing all the stores.

This place is not recommended for frequent customers. At least I will not come again. Cons. Hard to find, it is all the way to the end corner in the plaza. Too pricey . Costed me and my wife 70 dollars to eat there(not full), and I still have to order a noodle soup from next door after we paid. There is nothing so special about their food. Pros. I found there is no MSG in the soup they serve, because I did not get thirsty after . That is it. I will give it only a 2 star 70 dollars for lunch , I expect something mug better.

very expensive food is OK mostly just spicey But too expensive compare with the taste and way of cooking
