"Chef Ciccio Sultano provides an intimate portrait of Sicily at this restaurant situated just a stone’s throw from the Duomo di San Giorgio in the heart of Ibla, one of the most charming historic centres in Sicily. Drawing on his deep knowledge of the region, he creates some of the island’s most spectacular cuisine, which is served in comfortable, intimate dining rooms. There are two tasting menus, from which dishes can also be chosen à la carte." - Michelin Inspector

We had very high expectations of our dinner tasting menu, but I have to say it exceeded our expectations. The food is of course incredible, and there is a lot of it, so plan to arrive very hungry and be prepared to leave stuffed. This is coming from someone who is not full very quickly :). A lot of attention to detail and great presentation of the dishes. Deserves 2 Michelin stars and the price of tasting menu is reasonable. We found cocktails were reasonably priced as well and tasted great.

My wife and myself have enjoyed a down-to-details culinary hommage to Sicily with the 8-course Stupor Mundi menu (in reality, there were more courses) at this 2 Michelin stars. In generalI, I was more impressed with sea-based plates than meat or pasta ones. Service was very attentive, a bit too formal attire was softened with a measured dose of cheerfulness of the sommelier. Great wine pairings with the "Movimento" list of Sicilian wines. While the restaurant sits in the shade of the splendid Duomo of Ragusa, interiors are too minimalistic, slightly colder than expected, and do not offer a visual support to the everything-about-Sicily food and wine narrative. Overall, amazing experience!

Great lunch tasting menu, surprising mix of taste and perfect wine pairing. Amazing truffle ice cream! We liked the local products and wines served and the absolute kindness of the staff.

Amazing fine-dining experience in Ragusa. We spontaneously decided to book a lunch at the restaurant and were happy that we could make a reservation for the next day. The location was small but delicate. The service was outstanding and the staff was very welcoming and professional. We decided to go with a wine pairing which was an experience in itself. Great sparkling wine for starters, wine for the main courses and an outstanding desert wine. The food was great and met our expectations of a 2 star michelin restaurant. The highlight was the pork with truffles that melted in your mouth. The least convincing was the desert but overall an outstanding experience!

Truly amazing experience. Fully deserved 2 Michelin stars. Been welcomed with two glasses of sparkling wine of my choice, got great wine recommendation from a sommelier, spent an amazing evening with Extraordinary tasting menu (after having 8 dishes we had to roll out of the place 😂, but it was worth it!). All this with really professional service all night, that was there before I event thought that I might need something. Hands down Chef! Highly, highly recommended!

Incredible. Worth the visit. Perhaps my favorite meal ever. Do not pass on the wine tasting. Sicilian wines are on point 🙌🏼

I was passing by that day and was intrigued by the menu. Then I remembered that it was a restaurant I had read about when I was planning my Italy trip. I wasn't disappointed; in fact, it was the highlight of my 10-day trip in Italy. I was warmly welcomed by the highly professional hosts and staff, even though I was underdressed for a Michelin-star restaurant. Considering my preference for fish, here comes the magic. Everything was on point. The chef even reconciled me with pork using his signature black pork dish. I was incredibly happy to have had the chance to taste each item from his signature menu. A special appreciation goes to the unique twist on the Negroni cocktail, which I highly recommend to start the experience. Additionally, the sommelier had an excellent understanding of my wine preferences and expertly paired them with the courses.

Situated just behind the Duomo in the beautiful Ragusa Ibla, this tranquil place is a must visit in case you want to experience Sicily's refined flavours. Impeccable service provided by Chef Ciccio Sultano's team. Reservation went smooth via their webpage listed here. A perfect culinary experience whilst visiting UNESCO's Valle di Noto baroque cities and their castels. Stupor Mundi (food) and Movimento (wine) menus competed and ultimately blended in an astonishing manner towards the end in our mouths and finely twisted our minds. A truly two-star Michelin experience which we highly recommend.

Yelp
Al Duomo was likely the best tasting menu we've ever had. We walked in without a reservation on a Wednesday night around 7:45, hoping they'd take up. The restaurant was shockingly empty to our surprise, and they happily seated us in a pleasant corner. It's located on one of Ragusa's pedestrian streets. From the moment we sat down, service was extremely attentive. Even when I walked to the bathroom, someone assisted me there and quickly cleaned up my spot at our table. They timed our dishes to our speed, while also giving us some time to digest. A vegetarian tasting menu wasn't listed on the menu, but they were happy to comply with our request, and even asked us if we had any further dietary needs we wanted accommodated. The food was absolutely superb and each dish more creative than the one before! We were served: - Mushroom cappuccino with stuffed tomato: Such a creative dish! A savory take on the cappuccino, but they really do it right and all of the flavors do blend together. The stuffed tomato was perfectly sautéed so it was juicy and popping in flavor before being stuffed. - Artichoke - steamed, fried and bbq'd, served with a poached egg: A surprising and interesting dish. Neat to have so many different variations done on such a simple food as the artichoke. I don't eat fried food, but did eat a bite of the inside portion of the fried piece, and it was surprisingly sweet. The poached egg was from (I believe) the chef's farm and was perfectly cooked. - Spaghetti with bread crumbs and tomato sauce: Our favorite dish of the night and our favorite pasta we've ever had. So simple yet such a perfectly done blend of these flavors. The tomato sauce was both rich and tangy, the spaghetti cooked exactly al dente and the bread crumbs to add a toasted flavor and really a great touch. - Ravioli with pea sauce, broccoli rabe and fresh ricotta: This tasted especially fresh, especially the ricotta. It had a very earthy flavor to it. Again, the broccoli was perfectly sautéed, yet still held its bitterness that broccoli rabe so nicely adds to a heavier dish. - Mushroom gelato with crisps: This wasn't my favorite (I like my gelato sweet!), but my husband loved it and ate both of ours. It was impressive how they made the savory gelato the perfect gelato consistency. - Focaccia bread: We were trying to avoid bread, as we were eating so many carbs during the trip and wanted to save it for the best breads we saw, but we couldn't resist the tiny triangle of focaccia. A great mix of sauce, cheese and fresh baked bread! - Pumpkin purée with ricotta, fresh peas, bok choy and cucumber: This was another surprise in terms of how much we liked it. The pumpkin was airy yet had a satisfying bit to it, the fresh ricotta was again extremely fresh and beautifully placed on display in the middle of the dish. The vegetables were executed flawlessly, but didn't try to trump the already intense pumpkin and ricotta flavors. - Petit fours: Standard to many others we've had but a good variety and all tasty (we could only manage a bite of each to try them)! - Sorbet (star fruit) with pumpkin cream: A nice way to ease into dessert. Not too heavy and almost refreshing after the full meal. All made freshly in house. - Ricotta cheesecake with caramelized oranges, pistachio gelato and fresh chocolate sauce: The chocolate sauce, like much other chocolate in the area, was very bitter and dark, it was poured in a reservoir in the dish upon serving. The ricotta cheesecake had more of a ricotta flavor to it, rather than a sweet flavor, again pointing to its freshness. The caramelized orange and pistachio gelato added some sweet, but again without being over the top so. A neat mix of flavors with a good ode to the region with the local chocolate and pistachio gelato. I believe I'm missing one or two courses, but it truly was all fabulous. It's obviously pricey, but you go in knowing it's going to be a special treat. At first we thought we'd do a few tasting menus during our honeymoon, but after having this one, we thought it'd get overkill and take away from the special experience here. Our only other critique was it was hard to hear and understand them explaining each dish, I think partially due to a small language barrier. Can't really hold that against them though!

Yelp
I personally disagree with a lot of the reviews seen on this restaurant. I have been to numerous Michelin star restaurants across the world and there is a standard to what you'd expect to receive. Unfortunately, this place disappointed me in the system from the lack of gastronomy / creativity in the food, the pompous service, and the try hard atmosphere. We first were seated late to our table, waited 30+ minutes to receive our wine and amuse-bouche, and then was followed-up with just a series of underwhelming. While the photos may be beautiful, the lack of explosion in my mouth did the rest of the talking. Sorry Chef Sultano, but this did not hit the nail on the head for me. Save your $800 and go elsewhere.

Yelp
Incredible food, and incredible service. Like my bouche was amused, by the unique food. It's expensive (obviously) and it's ridiculous to try and find parking in the area, so I suggest walking since it's so close to the Duomo. You are guaranteed to leave being full! The fresh seafood is absolutely the way to go, and the truffle "ice cream sandwich" (I'm calling it that), was one of the most incredible things I've ever eaten. The fish of Sicily, was beautifully displayed with bullseye looking sauces with a jelly overtop and shrimp and octopus on the side. The wine list is extensive and they servers are willing to help you out with a recommendation. Lastly, they are so careful about allergies and will substitute any foods out and make you a unique dish which is something I really appreciated. Go here if you have the money to spend!

Yelp
Honestly, I do not understand the other reviews. We had traveled to several Michelin star restaurants around the world. When you pay for a top restaurant experience you expect to be surprised by the creativity of the food and the quality of the service. The only thing thing that we found at Al Duomo was mediocrity and stuffy service. A couple of items in the testing menu were worthy of such a fuss, the rest you can forget about them. We were not impressed by Ciccio Sultano's food. You have better options in the same town (For example, Locanda Don Serafina)

Yelp
The road to Il Duomo is torturous but the meal makes it every bit worthwhile. We were hoping to make it for a 1.30 lunch but we're delayed until 2.15pm. Chef Sultano and The staff waited and welcomed us and served us a sumptuous lunch pre-fix. Italian cuisine is undoubtedly the best but Sultano elevates it beyond words. Every detail from the decor to the service to of course, the food are painstakingly perfected. A true gem framed in baroque beauty!

Yelp
This lovely restaurant was recommended by Fabrizio, the owner of an agriturismo establishment outside of Caccamo. He told me it would be expensive, but worth every euro, as it is Sicily's top restaurant. We made a lunch reservation as soon as we arrived in Ragusa. Our five star, prix fix lunch included a homemade pasta in a fava bean sauce which was topped with succulent, melt-in-your-mouth lamb chops. The black pork from the Nebrodi mountains was tender and tasty. It was the star dish! Don't miss it. Our meal also included an amuse bouche, dessert, and local Sicilian foccacia-like specialties, as well as amazing lavash, encrusted with local pistachios. Elegant, comfortable, welcoming, absolutely delicious. One of our best fine dining experiences.

Yelp
From the outside, one might not even consider this place but the interior hints at the treasure within. Tastefully done with fascinating artwork and subdued tones, the place just speaks of class. Soft music in the background just is there but it is easy to quietly converse with your table mates. We opted for a 5 course "tasting" with wines. After the head waiter asked us for any particulars about food allergies and dislikes, the chef and sommelier both .came to the table and introduced themselves. Then, we were off with an excellent meal. The items served were totally at the discretion of the kitchen and demonstrated culinary creativity. Each course was perfectly proportioned and each wine pairing spot on. Service outstanding with a unique ability to sense when we were in need of an item but never obtrusive. A little pricey? Yeah. But for a truly special evening I"d not hesitate to go to this place. Truly excellent!

Yelp
Food-wise, some hits and misses; for example, the black pig preparation was stellar. The wine pairing was excellent. What made this a truly 5 star restaurant is the amazing staff who were attentive and provided top notch service. Will be back!

Yelp
My last flight here I was with some pilots getting enroute training. We were starved and you can't believe how delicious the food and so beautiful. Fresh and don't forget the delicious port wine:). Thank you all!

Yelp
Sad to say that this restaurant received a two star Michelin rating. I can't remember anything about the meal except that the pastas were not worth eating. Not worth the time nor the money. Have had amazing dining experiences all over the world, and this truly was one of the worst.

Yelp
Put simply, a bucket list kinda restaurant. Must visit for its fantastic assault on the culinary palate. Plan ahead and book a year out. Many international travelers who've dined at #ChefCiccioSultano's Il Duomo make return trips. Glad to have joined that group in Oct 2014 during our culinary tour of Sicilian cuisine.
