Embassy Inn was a wonderful hotel. We loved the stay and the staff. The location was wonderful and was within walking distance of the White House. The staff was lovely and helpful. The room was a good size for the two of us. Only negative comment was that the TV did not have Netflix on it nor an HDMI so was pretty useless. The hotel had good amenities and was a perfect stay for our weekend trip to DC.

First of all I want to say I had a shared room. The bed was very comfy and I got an abundance fresh Towels and toiletries, which was great! The bathroom was cleared daily. There was springen with a lamp which I told the receptionist and it got fixed the same day! The staff was incredibly friendly and was helping me out to find good dinner spots in DC. So pleasant service and a good room and friendly guests - what do you want more?

From the very beginning we had a wonderful attendant named James easily helped us check in and we loved the place so much we stayed another night and then ANOTHER night. Very nice location and close to Hotspot in the city. 10/10 would recommend again.
Rooms may not be very large but they are comfortable and I love the shared kitchen

Firstly I arrived from the airport at exactly 2:47 and the front desk person said check in was not until 3 and there was a line of guests waiting in the lobby until three for him to start checking them in- NOT CUTE! I am currently staying at this hotel while on a visit for work for 5 days and was waiting until check-out to write a review, but I feel like by day three I can solidly give it a one star rating! I stayed in two different rooms and they were both tiny- the second one less so- I am from NYC if that confirms it. The showers are what I would imagine standing in a coffin would feel like- I could barely lift my arms to wash my hair and the temperature of water in both rooms was burn you skin off hot or cold no in-between. I spent quite a while fiddling with the dial and it seems like they were not installed correctly or are just terrible because you can here when it switches from hot to cold- no combination. I stayed one night in a room with A/C that sounded like a lawnmower and was set at 61, however I am confident the temperature reached the 80's overnight. I didn't have time to deal with it in the morning so I very politely asked the lady at the front desk if I could move rooms b/c the a/c was broken. She was nice at that point and did some adjustment in the computer and said to get my things and she would meet me at my room with the new key. When she came to my room she barged in and took a look at the unit. It was blowing cold air just not enough to cool the room and at lawn mower capacity. She then was very snarky with me and told the a/c was fine and scoffed at me- then she said "oh well its fine" in a very condescending way! Today when I arrived from work the whole place smell like pot which I believe to be coming from the employee lounge. I don't have a problem with people smoking pot, but there is a very beautiful courtyard with tables and chairs out front- the shouldn't be allowed to do it inside. The rooms are very run down- nothing like the pics online so I am kind of shocked at the raving reviews this place has got! Also there were shady characters lingering in the common areas every time I passed through the lobby so not sure what that was about! I would avoid this place at all costs. You can pay a few more dollars and stay at a well run establishment. This place is a glorified hostel. It is in a great neighborhood close to restaurants and grocery.

Very small, but clean rooms. You get what you pay for. It comes with all you need, clean sheets and towels, the standard coffee maker, TV, Wifi. If you need room around the bed or in the hall ways. This is definitely not your place. Front Desk seems to be more concerned about carrying on their private conversation as to whom they let in and out of the place. Not even a friendly node.

If we talk about location on a budget this is a great place.
Very safe area , near embassies, Dupont Circle and the underground Metro , yellow line.
Walking distance to lots of entertainment, restaurants and Shops. Farmers Mkt opens on Sunday by the Circle.
A regular shared room has two bunk beds, the bathroom is clean and provides toiletries to each guest.
There is a common kitchen at the lower level and a Fridge.
I felt good during my stay , therefore 5 stars

3-4 stars. Nicely designed and renovated but has some maintenance hiccups that could have been avoided. Some of the rooms are extremely small (the TV was 70% the size of the bed), but they moved us to another room with no charge when it became available. Overall ok+ 3 stars, designed, place to spend 1-2 nights.

Stayed here for one night and had my items removed while i was out getting breakfast. later found out i was missing over $200 worth of items. after coming back and reporting this, the housekeeper returned my phone charger and claimed nothing else was found. I had just picked up my prescription and had my anxiety medicine in the room. The manager, James Nau was not helpful at all and insisted there was nothing he could do. This hotel also conveniently has no cameras in the hallway. Do not stay here.
