Miami’s New Restaurant Openings

"We’re skeptical of croissants and pastries that are too pretty. But if the bread creations from this Calle Ocho spot are as good as they look, we might have a new reason to flock to Little Havana in the mornings." - mariana trabanino

Duran Bakehouse - Review - Little Havana - Miami - The Infatuation

"Little Havana’s Duran Bakehouse makes croissants that, for the most part, look better than they taste. This is also the case with the croissant spin-offs they bake, like a “crownie” that’s too dense in the center. Or the beautiful, red-striped croissant whose strawberry flavor tastes artificial. The classic plain croissant, however, is excellent. They also have a few savory danishes we could easily have a dozen of, but that would cost about $70. So just come for one croissant and call it a day." - Mariana Trabanino

Duran Bakehouse is my favorite bakery. Hand down. There is absolutely no comparison. From fresh ingredients, delicious croissants to walking in and being greeted with a smile. As well as the wonderful smell of baking. It’s absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I have been coming since the beginning of the month when I saw a cute little blue store with a croissant on it. We went and that’s how my obsession started. My boyfriend and I really appreciated the fresh ingredients that their baked goods are made of. Actual quality ingredients catered to not only your health but your mouth as well. I’ve tried a variety ranging from savory to sweet and never once have I felt bad after having a delectable croissant from here. Not to mention the cappuccino was spectacular! As well as the beautiful packaging that really makes the experience. They are proud of what they make and I am too. We make it a point every week to go now, it’s become a tradition at this point. And yes, down below there are 4 different boxes and I really wish I pictured all of the croissants but they were too good 😭

Recently discovered this hidden gem in 8th street! WOW! This spot is exactly what I need next door to my building. I wish it was closer to home! I love discovering new bakeries to work from in Miami & Duran Bakehouse exceeded my expectations. I arrived around 10:30am and the line was a bit long, always a good problem to have for a new store, and thankfully they didn’t run out of any bakery items. You get to see inside the kitchen while you’re waiting to order and/or eating inside. I saw them working hard at making breads & sweets. The music was such a vibe, it’s not always a thing to come to coffee shops and hear great music. And the spot is quaint, homey, and beautifully decorated I had to try a few options & took some home to my husband: guava and cheese, pistachio croissant, ham & cheese croissant & gluten free chocolate chip cookie. I had an organic Ecuadorian latte, so delicious. I loved that they had options such as organic a super plus!! Ended up taking home a sourdough bread too. Have a feeling this will be my new place to pick up a sourdough loaf. 11/10 absolutely incredible & it’s a must try. Make your way over, will exceed your expectations!

The croissants and all the bakery items are killer! The coffee is fantastic! Sarah could not be friendlier, happier or more helpful! The place is super clean and has a few comfortable tables to look out at the street while you enjoy your coffee and pastries. Could not be better, especially Sarah, she’s the best!

I've officially found my new favorite bakery! Duran Bakehouse has completely blown me away. Their croissants are flaky, buttery perfection. But the real star of the show is the cookies and cream croissant - it's an absolute dream. I've also tried several other pastries, and they were all exceptional. The quality of the ingredients and the skill of the bakers are evident in every bite. This bakery is a true gem!

The most delicious croissants you’ll have in Miami! I first discovered Duran at a local farmers market and when I found out that they had a store immediately had to go see it and try their new menu items. The place is so adorable and homie, 10/10 recommend! Cute for a coffee date 🥐☕️

Yelp
My mom practically dragged me over to Duran Bakehouse today and I have to say, while the interior and decor are beautiful, we were both disappointed for a number of reasons. For 1, we arrived 20 minutes before closing(not intentionally as we didn't know they closed at 3) and were informed by the young girl working the front that the coffee machine had already been cleaned and this she could not sell us any coffee. This completely deflated me and turned me off. I was loving the vibe and interior but now I was pricked because as a mom of a toddler, I really needed that coffee! 2, the prices. Ouch. Almost $7 for the cheese and artichoke danish, and almost $9 for the strawberry tart. Both were tasty but we both couldn't help but quip, "would be better with coffee!" The service, as already implied, was not great. On top of telling us she had already cleaned the coffee machine and couldn't make us coffee, she then asked us if we wanted our pricey pastries to go. Um, girl no! My mom had to ask that her savory pastry be heated up and then she did not heat it for long enough so it was still cold in the middle. For my mamas, no high chairs in sight. Bring your travel stroller and you might be lucky to snag the window table where you have enough room to squeeze it in. Otherwise, your tot will be on your lap like mine was. No restroom on premises. Parking is street parking and scant.

Yelp
If you are in the Miami area or even if you aren't ;) I urge you to visit this baker. This couple is doing the hard work of importing proper ingredients then combining superior culinary talent to produce an exceptional end product. If you have a gluten sensitivity you may consider trying this... it's organic imported French flour. European flour doesn't have the added ingredients that often set people off here in the states. We recommend the classic it's amazing. Also, super kind counter staff and lovely atmosphere. I have loads of food rules and the owner was so tolerant of my questions and happily took time to share his process. Thanks for a wonderful birthday morning experience.
