High-End Indian Restaurant Darbaar in the City Appears to Have Closed | Eater London

"A high-end Indian restaurant led by head chef Abdul Yaseen, an award-winning modern Indian specialist who moved to London from Jaipur and was part of the founding team at an iconic Westminster restaurant; he has also appeared on shows such as Celebrity MasterChef UK, Hairy Bikers, Great Britain’s Best Dish and the Alan Titchmarsh Show. The venue sits in the Broadgate Quarter development, which has seen several other high-profile restaurant closures, and is currently closed to the public after being served a bailiff possession notice stating the landlord exercised their right to re-enter and take possession and that the property is now legally occupied by the landlords. The chef and owner insists the closure is not permanent, saying operational issues with the landlords are being resolved and expressing a desire to reopen and serve guests again, though no reopening timeline has been provided." - Adam Coghlan

We ordered the chicken tikka masala for my wife, my baby and I. The tikka masala happened to be too spicy. Not only did they make us a brand new one, but they were so nice to gift our baby a carrot pudding on them. This is great customer service and the only place we will go for great indian food!! Thank you and we appreciate you!

Google
Delicious! The samosa chat appetizer was amazing (and large enough for 4). Saag paneer as my main dish was flavorful and even better with garlic naan. Service was great. Apparently the kitchen had an issue, but the staff communicated what was going on and our food came out in a reasonable time even though they said there might be a delay. Will go back again!

We wandered in hungry, having never even read a review. Wow. It was some of the best Indian food I’ve had in years. Flavors were incredible. I ordered the sample platter. Possibly the best tandoori chicken I have ever eaten. Our host and waiter was hospitable and friendly. If I lived here, I would eat here often.

Google
I don’t usually write reviews, but I’m genuinely grateful to this restaurant for making my daughter’s Paasni ceremony so special. I booked both the venue and catering through them, and everything was absolutely flawless. The food was delicious—every guest truly enjoyed it and had nothing but praise. Their service and quality made the whole event smooth and memorable. I wholeheartedly recommend their food and hospitality. Thank you for making our celebration so wonderful—every penny was truly worth it.

Amazing plentiful food! Quiet atmosphere. We will go back!

Google
Best Indian food I’ve had in Colorado! I got the coconut curry and naan bread. The owner, Suman was very nice and gave me this drink masala chai which I intend to make at home. Looking forward to coming here again!

We recently dined at Durbar and was blown away by the quality of the food and the exceptional service. The menu at Durbar is authentic and offers a wide range of Nepali dishes. We started with bunch of appetizers (samosa, onion bhaji, himalayan noodles soup etc) which were perfectly cooked and packed with delicious flavors. For main course we had chili momo, chicken kadai, tandoori chicken etc and each item was cooked to perfection. Overall great experience, warm and inviting ambience. Also, the mango lassi was amazing. I recommend everyone to try once.

Google
This place is hands down the best Indian amd Nepali food you will find at least here in North Denver suburbs. I've tried it all. There's a lot of good food in the area but there's something about the flavors they put out. Just amazing. I hurt myself every time I eat it and I keep going back. Service is top notch. There's a guy who I'm guessing is the manager, great attitude, always friendly. It's just above and beyond other indian spots.

Yelp
Been here a few times now. Service is always prompt and the food is great. Their chicken tikka masala is excellent.

Yelp
The smell of the spices draws you in. The dining area hues of red and dark brown reminds you of the rich spices that you will soon be enjoying. The waitress greeted us with a warm smile. In the background foreign music played. Our waitress took our order. While we waited we enjoyed a quiet ambiance. The wait was well worth it (not too long and too quick...just right). Our eyes grew big as the butter chicken and chicken tikki Marsala and Palak paneer were laid out on our table. The sheer beauty of the shimmering garlic naan, bright red chicken sauce contrasting against the white rice and green paneer was a fabulous presentation of Indian delight. As we began to dig in, we savored every bite. It hit the spot! You know the spot in your soul and stomach that craves something amazingly delicious. Yeah that part! Thank you Durbar for a lovely date night experience both in the service as well as in the quality of food.

Yelp
We like it there but the manager there aggressively tried to upsell. We told him one order of bread and brought and charged us for 2. Haven't been back.

Yelp
It was a nice lunch with nice ambiance. I had chicken korma and naan for lunch. There is no lunch menu and it was $30 for a single lunch with drinking just water. There is no lunchtime buffet and order from dinner menu. The food was good and enjoyed my lunch.

Yelp
Went here on 5/9/25. Staff was so friendly and attentive. Love going to different with my kids and so them different foods. This place was great! So much flavor and the heat is just right. The ambiance was great. Looks like they could do large events. Will definitely be back and I recommend. Truly, I forgot what we ordered but everything was great!

Yelp
I've been here many times for their lunch buffet. The food is good and it's reasonable. It's quick and convenient making it one of our lunch favorites. I struggled a bit to write this review because everything isn't always perfect. The food can be warm instead of hot, the naan bread sometimes takes awhile to come out. But all things considered the place offers value, variety and its got healthy options. The place itself is located in a strip mall in Broomfield. It's nice inside, I like the decorations. Ultimately, it's not the best Indian food I've had, but it is good and for the price I think they deserve a 5 star. If you like buffets or Indian food I would recommend trying it. I'll be back, happy eating!

Yelp
Went on a weekday night and surprised to see an empty restaurant with only one other group dining. Durbar is a well-decorated restaurant with nice ambiance for date night. Our waiter was very patient and friendly, letting us take our time reviewing the menu despite being near closing hour. Started off our meal with some fried momos - yum! We got the Indian thakali set and chicken biryani. My god, the BEST biryani we've ever tasted. That's coming from eating out fair share in the Bay Area. The rice was flavorful with whole spices included. The Thakali set was also amazing, coming with rice, curry, tikka masala and dal, tandoori chicken, two pieces of naan, and dessert. Both portions were very generous - definitely plan to take leftovers home! We went on a very windy and cold day and even got free chai tea to go with our meals. Honestly, the best Indian food we've had between California and the Southwest. We will definitely come back when we're in the area again!!

Yelp
Truly a wonderful experience. We stopped in here on a whim. The moment we stepped in the door we knew we'd made the right decision. There's a delicious aroma in the air so you just know what awaits is going to be tasty. The decor is beautiful and welcoming. Linen table clothes with linen napkins, very posh. Service was quick, efficient, helpful, and of course kind. My wife and I are always so indecisive but the staff was patient with us and even helped us pick our dishes. My wife got the Thali dish(low spice) with a mango lassi and I got the I got the chicken curry(medium spice) with a strawberry lassi. But first we had an appetizer of the onion baji, which I have no pics of because it was so tasty we practically inhaled it. Then we received our main dishes...What a delight they were. Very tasty. Mine was a wonderful level of spice. We were both so pleased. The portions were so big we ended up taking some home. We're both looking forward to our leftovers tomorrow.

Yelp
Chicken Tahli. I'm tired decided I needed something nourishing. I'm fairly picky and this was delicious!

Dominic D.

Yelp
Honestly disappointed. I've been here a few times and the first were pretty standard, but this last time was not good. My saag was oddly minty and was full of whole spices which were not enjoyable. Whole spices are usually fine but it seemed like there was more whole spices than anything else in my bites. Usually saag tastes the same everywhere I go, but durbar somehow messed it up this time. The rest of the dishes including the chicken Tikka masala, the lamb, and the pakora, were all fine, but they all seemed slightly off compared to when I've had them in the past. The spiciness levels were all over the place even though the dishes were ordered medium. This was made worse by the fact that they treated water like liquid gold, and gave out as little as possible. You'd think they would have been a bit more attentive to us considering we were the only table in the restaurant. It's hard to recommend this place when there's so many stronger restaurants of this cuisine.

Yelp
Best vindaloo! Great service, friendly staff--highly recommend! Best in town!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caitlin B.

Yelp
Really nice staff and always friendly. Really great food and always delicious. It seems a great place to eat with family or kids. The mango lassi is always delicious as well. Pretty nice atmosphere.

Yelp
This review is only for the lunch buffet Food was decent but on the saltier side. Selection could be better. The server was kind but a bit of a helicopter. They didn't fill up food items toward the end of the buffet hour so make sure you come early for the lunch buffet. All in all, it's an okay Indian lunch buffet but nothing to write home about.

Yelp
My friends and I were in town for a conference and looking for south Asian food options. We really happy to find Durbar Nepalese. The food was fresh and made quickly. Flavors were wonderful. Portions were great. We were very very happy with all of our selections. Definitely would go here again!

Suman K.

Yelp
Best place Indian restaurant at broomfield .Best costumer Service highly recommended for dumplings, noodles and Indian food

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant or it's staff. Yes, the gentleman everyone is calling "the manager" comes on strong but we found that it's because of his passion for the food. He has never offered us an item and up charged us for it. Rather, he has asked our opinion on the selection he gave us so we may have future favorites. I really enjoy the time I have alone with my husband in this restaurant because it is quiet and easy going but recently we took our granddaughter and two of her friends and they really had a good time trying different things and sharing amongst each other. By the way, I love the new look, but unfortunately, I have not had the time to get in for the lunch buffet but I'm totally trying to find the time. Ahhhhh, I need butter chicken NOW!

Daniel G.

Yelp
Amazing foood best nepali/indian place hands down amazing service as well the servers and owners are great people

A P.

Yelp
Just okay. The Indian dishes were creamier than they're supposed to be. Poor service. The staff members were socializing instead of waiting tables.

Michael B.

Yelp
This place is always so amazing! I'll drive all the way down from Boulder because there isn't any Indian/Nepalese food that is nearly as good! Such great comfort food and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Yelp
Ordered take out from here twice, and everything was delicious! Dishes I've tried: chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, chaat, biryani, garlic naan, samosa, shrimp tandoori and mango lassi. Not sure which is my favorite because they are all tasty. Make sure to note your spice level in the comments if ordering take out. Mild, medium, spicy, and very spicy. We usually order mild or medium, depending on the dish. One thing I wish was different was their tamarind chutney. It was watered down quite a lot. Other then that, a solid place for dinner.

Yelp
Amazing food, great drinks. Quiet restaurant with great ambiance! 100% recommend, food came out fast too!

Annette M.

Yelp
Loved the food here. They can easily accommodate GF/DF/Vegan. Friendly staff. The chef came out and explained how he made the saag and chai from scratch. This is a real gem of a restaurant and a must try!! Beautiful space as well.

Yelp
Honestly idk how accurate these reviews will be because I have yet to find an indian restaurant that I don't like ... so either my tastebuds are not fine tuned enough to be judging this, the dishes we get are so basic that no one can mess up, or we just stumble upon the good indian spots? who knows. We came here because a polish restaurant further down south was closed and I'm glad we got to try it! The food was tasty (but again we get basic things). We ordered the coconut curry and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan which was bomb. So bomb, we ordered another order bc we're indulgent. There was also a yelp check in deal but to be completely honestly we didn't know what we got. It seemed like some fried veggies? We ended up ordering too much food so we didn't even get to finish the free dish but it's cool that they offer it! The service was really good, we ended up being one of 2 parties in the restaurant so I'm sure that added to their heightened awareness of making sure we were cared for. We also got the mango lassi and chai which both were also classic and yummy. Parking is shared in a lwith a supermarket and other restaurants, but everything else looked closed by the time we got there to start eating

Mimi H.

Yelp
Great food -- Everything is freshly made with great flavor. I recommend the Nepalese curries, butter chicken, tiki masala, and mommos. The naan alone is worth the drive. Every dish is great, especially accompanied by a Nepalese beer. The owners made sure we were well taken care of. The service was excellent. Prices are reasonable. And the ambiance is modern with linen tablecloths and napkins. I am glad we found this restaurant.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Buffett coming soon! We stopped in for a business lunch. Amazing flavor! Food was fresh and full of flavor! Lamb was tender, naan was chewy and soft. Service was attentive and helpful. They tailor the spice level to your liking. It was perfect. Will definitely return when back in town!

Jeff C.

Yelp
I have lived in Nepal and am married to a Nepalese woman, but I was here for business and thought I'd find some Nepalese food and hope that it was decent. Durbar exceeded my expectations on every level. The food was delicious and authentic!! The service was excellent. The ambiance was great. The staff includes the son who is the owner and the Grandfather who is the greeter and the Grandson who served the good. Great family atmosphere. I had the Malai Kofta and Saag Paneer with rice and naan with a side of raita. Excellent.
google avatar

Maria R.

Yelp
I LOVE this place! I am a huge fan of Nepali food as I have a ton of friends from Nepal and have been exposed to their food and culture greatly over the last 4 years. My friends will tell me that there aren't that many Nepali restaurants around the Denver area that are actually good, but we all agreed that this is one of the best! I've had the biryani, chicken curry, chicken chili, and the chicken kababs and they were all so amazing! I've yet to try the chili momos (one of my favorite dishes) but I imagine they're so good!
google avatar

Drew H.

Yelp
Really great food, very friendly and helpful staff. We ordered the buffet togo. The staff gave me two 4x6 togo containers and a separate small container for dessert. I would like to see a little more chicken in the butter chicken, the pan was pretty low and the chicken that was there was very small pieces. But the staff was so friendly and the food was really good so I will chaulk it up to bad timing on my part. Will definitely return.
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
Exceptional food and welcoming service--recalling my experience compels a strong craving for their delectable offerings.

Chris U.

Yelp
Most of the food has been fantastic. The butter chicken is by far our favorite dish with spinich paneer a very close second. Naan has a nice texture to it, and the samosas are fantastic.
google avatar

Leah A.

Yelp
We came in for dinner tonight after my husband wanted to find a new Nepalese restaurant so we didn't have to drive to Boulder anymore. We are so happy that we came in and finally have Durbar a try. I read the negative reviews and I can honestly say they are clearly mistaken. The majority rules and that is that Durbar is quite delicious and wonderful. The two gentlemen working the front were so friendly and welcoming. They were very nice to our toddler and both made small talk with her, which made her smile. Later on during our meal the chef came out and went to each table to see how they like their meals. I really loved that we were able to meet him and see the man behind our amazing food. We made sure to let him know how much we enjoyed his food. We tried a few menu items. We started with the chicken chili and veggie pakora. Shared some cheese naan bread. For our main we had butter chicken and saag. Everything we had was excellent, very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The restaurant itself was very clean and we enjoyed the atmosphere very much. It's safe to say we found a new spot for Indian/Nepalese food and we are stoked.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
They have a pretty decent lunch buffet for $14.99. There were enough dish selections and I love that they have samosas and bring fresh naan to the table.
google avatar

A Marie J.

Yelp
Great lunch buffet! Nice clean restaurant. A great addition to Broomfield. They also do catering.

steve p.

Yelp
If you haven't found an Indian buffet since the pandamic killed that option try this for lunch except Mondays. Inside is nice and clean, service was good and casual. Lots of variety, although I missed a mango pudding or similar for dessert. A little pricey when you add in a drink and tip but worth it. And while your out and about check out the gigantic asian market next door.

Yelp
Since moving to Broomfield from Los Angeles, Durbar has become THE weekly FAVORITE for my girlfriend and I..... The cuisine here is undisputedly the best Indian/ Nepalese in the Boulder/ Denver area, utilizing herbs, meats and spices in a seriously artistic way. The staff couldn't be more kind, generous and accommodating, taking care of us at every moment with something savory, sweet and delicious to offer. Be sure to order the vegetable samosa, the coconut curry, Lamb Rohan Josh, garlic naan and the carrot pudding! Not only do the kitchen aromas have our mouths watering upon entry, but the restaurant is beautifully decorated, well lit, clean, and we love watching the sunset view from our favorite table. My only complaint is why don't people know about Durbar!!? Will this review help, or should I shout it from the mountain tops!!! This restaurant is PEAK wish fulfillment, top-notch cuisine guaranteed.

Gabe M.

Yelp
First time and not the last time for my wife and me! Best naan we've ever had! Great atmosphere, delicious food. We highly recommend it.
google avatar

Mia A.

Yelp
I like their food. The coconut shrimp had a nice flavor but the box was leaking. The momo was tasty with the sauce. And the vegetable samosas were also good. My favorite was the spin on the chicken tikka, it had a bit of a different flavor from other tikkas I had in the past. A sweeter flavor.

Teresa K.

Yelp
Excellent food! Curries and Vindaloo are wonderful. Great date night dining Service was attentive at all times. Also delicious Naan bread
google avatar

Jen R.

Yelp
Great for Napalese and Indian cuisine in the Denver Metro Area. I come from East Coast where my expectations are more authentic. The flavors were great, a bit on the lighter side and the sauces were not terribly heavy so that was a plus. The portions were a little on the small side. I got Butter Chicken and felt the dish lacked dimension (tasted like sauce over chicken whereas I'm used to slow simmered flavor that penetrates through the chicken). Perhaps it's a coast difference? All in all, my dishes were good, I would certainly order take out again and try something else.
google avatar

Glenn K.

Yelp
Great spicy Indian food. The naan was really good along side the lamb dishes we had. We will return to try others. A 3.5 out of 5 was definitely picante, we probably will not go higher than that.
google avatar

Samm V.

Yelp
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! This was some of the best Indian food we've had in a long time. Thank you, Yelpers! You did not disappoint. We found ourselves in the area after a couple errands and a quick search led us to this place for its exceptional reviews. Upon calling, the lady was amazingly friendly, knowledgeable and patient. When we got home, we were delighted to see that not only was nothing missing, but the portion sizes were huge! I forgot to take a photo before we started digging in. We have at least another meal for four this weekend. It looked like they were getting busy when we went to pick up. We hope they do well, especially during these times. I highly recommend giving them a try! We ordered: Chana Masala Coconut Curry Chicken Lamb Rogan Josh Suthooni Masala Plain Naan Garlic Cheese Naan Cheese Naan Veggie Samosas Every single item was fantastic! Great flavor, consistency, tenderness and value for the price.
google avatar

Dawn A.

Yelp
Stopped in fir a ToGo order during Covid shut down. Very friendly staff but I think he misunderstood me. I ordered Alu Gobi, naan and a side of masala sauce to dip the naan. I think they mixed the sauce with cauliflower and potato dish instead. No matter it's stil delicious. I ordered spicy and it has a very nice warmth. Excellent flavors. Rice is well cooked but not mushy. Deep smoky spices. I'll definitely be back. Can't wait to try other dishes!!
google avatar

Yelp
HANDSSSS downnnn the best Indian food in Colorado. I've searched all over and finally the search is done. Fabulous vegetarian korma, I had spicy and it wasn't too spicy. Get the onion and chili naan too! FABULOUS. Friends had chicken tikka masala and coconut curry and they absolutely loved their dishes. We also shared veggie Momo's and they were wonderful! I have been to Yak and Yet, Himalayan Curry House, Zaika, and others and Durbar topped them all!
google avatar

Yelp
It's so nice to have an amazing and fresh Indian restaurant in Broomfield! If you haven't checked out this restaurant yet, you should. All meals are custom-made to however you like it as far as spice level, vegan, dairy free, vegetarian etc. The staff is welcoming and friendly and the ambience is warm and quiet. The outdoor patio area is huge, so no need to be inside if you want to social distance. I've had several of their dishes and never been disappointed. I love the roti for an appetizer. The vegetable curry is amazing as well. If you're not sure what to order, the helpful wait staff will be more than happy to assist you in finding your perfect meal.

Yelp
We loved eating at this new Indian/Nepalese restaurant in Broomfield! The customer service was fantastic and the food was equally great. Some of our favorites were: Chicken Momo (Nepalese dumplings), Chana Masala (vegan!), chicken vindaloo, and their warm chai tea without milk was another awesome dish. Everything was superb. We got some of the frozen mango dessert which was a perfect little dessert to wrap everything together. Prices were definitely on par with the quality of food, maybe even a little lower than they could charge.
google avatar

Emi Y.

Yelp
This place was AMAZING!! Be prepared to wait a little - they only had one to two servers when I went so it was a little slow. They are very nice though!! The food is absolutely worth it! I shared the chicken saag, lamb biryani, malai kofta, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas with my boyfriend. The chicken saag was a highlight for him while I absolutely loved the malai kofta! We also loved the lamb biryani - I liked that this had a little heat but it wasn't overpowering. The naan was perfectly crispy and seemed to be very fresh! We will absolutely be coming back.

Yelp
WHAT on this earth are these people thinking . I door dashed this order and the delivery was perfect but I don't know how people can get away with charging $17,00 for a completely inauthentic dish . I ordered the chicken biryani and what I got was some kind of gravy mixed with lumpy rice and then dressed up with some raisins and chopped tomatoes - the worse of it was the chicken was undercooked . Maybe this is the Caucasian version of Biryani but nowhere in the world have I seen this level of complete culinary dishonesty with a dish . The rice May have been a day old ( lumpy) and they actually added some curry sauce over it and called it Biryani . The attempt to pretty up the dish with raisins and chopped tomato was hilarious - by the undercooked chicken ; it was clear to me that they don't take care of the very basics so I'm not terribly surprised . This "Biryani " went into the trash and earned this establishment an honest review . I hate leaving poor reviews but if you're going to charge people for a dish ; have the decency to make it authentic ; at least .... And cook the chicken so people don't get sick . It's clear the chicken was an add on protein that the cook hurriedly tried to cook and throw into the "Biryani ". Now; to give them some credit; the butter chicken and garlic naan was pretty decent .

Yelp
I came for the buffet with my toddler and it was great so I brought my older ones and another family member for dinner and it was not great at all. Pros The food was mostly very good. The chicken and veggies added to the noodles in the chow mein were good but the noodles were not. The rice tasted a little funky but the entrees were very good and so was the naan. The chai is great. The prices are good for the quality of the food and the Cons I had to screw the bolts back into the high chair by hand because they were coming out and it was so wobbly I was nervous to put my toddler in it. Be careful about your kiddos because the glass on the table tops have extremely sharp corners. The bathrooms are not clean. I don't think our server has any wait service training or experience. We had basic drink orders, ordered only from the menu with no substitutions and all the food came out as ordered and only one drink was missed but he does not visit tables to check on people, does not take anything empty from the table unless you catch him walking by and ask, he is not clear about everything on the menu. We had to ask for more plates after the food came because not everyone at the table had a plate and we did not have enough utensils for everyone. We wanted to order dessert but he never came back. They do not bring a check, you have to walk up to pay and I saw many people sitting at their tables for quite a while with empty plates waiting on someone to come over. When I went up to pay, they added a surcharge to using my card that I did not know about. Maybe will be back? Probably better to just order takeout.

Yelp
Fraud alert. Ordered online on Mother's Day. Pick up time was 20-25 minutes. I arrived 35 minutes after ordering and my order still wasn't ready. They said it would be another 20-25 minutes. I said cancel the order they said I had to contact someone even though I placed the order on their website. Now I will have to dispute a charge cause I never received my order. They are a fraud!
