If you are visiting touristy Durbuy but would like a quiet night's rest, away from the hordes, this might be a good suggestion. It is about two kilometers north of the main part of Durbuy, in a small rural community. The building used to be an old residence, and except for a few original walls, it has been completely revamped and modernized with the finest attention to quality. The design is spare, but very tasteful and pleasant. There are six rooms here, and we were upgraded to a suite because we arrived on a quiet night. Everything is perfectly clean. The beds were very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. The owner was most helpful, very thoughtful and considerate to us. He speaks a number of languages including French, Dutch and English. The facilities include a very highly rated restaurant for dinner (it was closed the night we were there) and it's a good choice if you don't want to go to town for the evening. It's very quiet in this area, but that was just what we were looking for. Breakfast is 15 euro per person, and although we only wanted coffee, I'm sure the full breakfast would be well worth it. The coffee was a treat. Please note something worth knowing about the hotel's name: The "O" at the end is the local dialect's equivalent of the French word "haut" for upper. So, you might think with a name like Hotel Durbuy, it would be in Durbuy proper. But the key to its location north of town, up a hill, is in the O.
