Air con isn't in the room so it can get warm in spring/summer but that is the only minus. The place is a delight in central London. Safe area and the staff are wonderful. Special mention to Stefan, who is so charming but that said, all the staff deserve high praise. The rooms are beautifully decorated and having stayed a few time now, I'd not go anywhere else for a London stay. Nespresso coffee machine in the rooms, L'Occitane toiletries and the food is delicious.

We've stayed many times and found so many things to love about the Durrants Hotel. The location is ideal. The public areas are elegant inviting and cozy. The rooms are pleasant clean and very comfortable. We love that we can open windows. The staff is attentive friendly thoughtful and clearly take pride in their work. We appreciate and look forward to the warmth and sincerity of our welcome and send off. The Durrants is one of the last privately owned hotels in London and it's been owned by the same family since 1921. Highly recommended.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it. The room was incredibly quiet—perfect for a peaceful night's sleep—and the unique furnishings gave it a stylish yet traditionally British feel. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the luxury fluffy towels were a real treat. The breakfast choices were all excellent, with something to suit every taste, and there is a bar where we enjoyed a relaxing night cap. The staff were attentive and genuinely welcoming, always ready to help with anything I needed. Plus, the location couldn't be better—just a short walk to Selfridges and right in Marylebone. A great blend of comfort, style, and convenience!

Great hotel and lovely and warm people working there, really giving you an authentic touch. The only thing that killed it for me was the fact that a bartender in a sneaky way added the option of "(optional service charge)" and tried to get out of once confronted. I gladly wanted to pay the tip, but i did not expect this from a fancy and respectful establishment.

Service is behind 5 stars. They were absolutely generous and helpful in every way possible. I was embarrassed to an extent of how helpful they were. On the flip side, while the room was very clean and organized it missed a minibar/fridge and the single bed and pillows I had were horriblly not comfortable.

After over 25 years of countless personal and business stays at Durrants, I have finally given up on this hotel. Yes, it is in a great location and its quirkiness was part of its original appeal. However , having tolerated the tired decor in the majority of their small, aircon free overpriced rooms , the laughably poor in-room technology ( the Apple TV installations being a well-remembered fiasco) , the insipid showers and complete lack of room service or regular restaurant …. I quit. Last night’s stay in a ludicrously expensive ,cell-like “ superior double” room with paper thin walls allowed me the uninvited opportunity to share my French neighbour’s every conference call and bodily function throughout the night . This morning’s request ( to the same surly receptionist who had checked me in the previous day) to move me or , if possible, to leave the ( now vacated) adjacent room unallocated was met with complete indifference . My subsequent polite request to see Ian the elusive long-standing manager was batted back and my decision to check out ( and to forfeit my second night’s room booking cost) was dismissed with equal disdain. So Durrants - another one of your loyal guests bites the dust . No doubt you will shrug , muddle along as you have done for the past many years and continue to dupe your foreign guests with unfulfilled promises of affordable 5 star luxury , service and quaint British eccentricity but I for one won’t be part of that ongoing charade . Adieu as my French neighbour said ( albeit far later than I would have liked).

Old world charm meets modern London. This hotel is nestled away in the back streets of Marylebone (near Marble Arch) in a quiet back road. Close and convenient to all the London attractions and most within walking distance. This review is about room 210. The room, whilst they try to modernize this room with accessories, was old and tired. For the price it was a bit smaller than I was expecting and if I was there for more than a night the space might have become an issue. It only had one available plug socket! And and and they used that for the coffee machine! No plugs by the bed. I don't want to appear over critical but in the 21st century when everything needs charging that is a slight issue. The TV was purchased from around the same time Noah built his arc and the ceiling had clearly had a leak in the past but had been 'patched up'. Some of the tiles on the floor of the bathroom were cracked and it had no form of shaver socket so good luck charging your toothbrush (when you are switching out the plug to charge your phone! 😂). It has no air-conditioning and when it is 29 degrees outside a little Dyson fan just does not cut it...sorry! Overall, was it worth over £250+ a night? In short, no. I would rather save the money and stay at a premier inn or maybe pay about the same and stay at a DoubleTree (or any other good chain hotel that is available?). Sorry to slate the hotel but its small oppressive darkly lit hallways, slow as anything lifts need to be modernized and wonky floors need levelling. If you are staying there in that room, I say sorry and if you have the opportunity to cancel and go elsewhere please do, you will miss this place.

Everything you love about London is here: comfy rooms, accommodating and friendly staff, a world-class concierge, lovely nooks on the ground floor to have tea in the morning and enjoy a cocktail in the afternoon by the fire. This extraordinary and historic hotel made our London trip magical.|The hotel is not only near Selfridges, it is around the corner from the Marylebone High Street and across the street from the Wallace Collection. It’s that perfect.

Yelp
It doesn't appear that there are any recent reviews for Durrants Hotel. We recently stayed and had a great experience!! The staff at the hotel was fantastic-very friendly and accommodating! Although the hotel itself was old, it did have modern updates, like the bathroom! We loved the different areas of the hotel, like the bar, the dining areas and even the lobby! The neighborhood felt very safe (& quiet). We walked almost everywhere we went with no issues at all!

Yelp
A stay at the Durrants is a little bit like going back in time, from the hairdryer mounted on the wall (only a picture can help you understand this one) to the old timey keys and narrow hallways. Those who appreciate an old world experience will dig Durrants. Those who prefer white duvets and modern amenities like wifi will not. Fresh off an early morning train, I rocked up at before 9:00 and they hustled to get me and my bags to a room as quickly as possible. When you're exhausted, that means a lot. Service here could not have been any better. Eating and drinking options near the hotel are plentiful though the best is certainly Defune (where I met a fellow hotel guest who said he's been coming back to the same room at the Durrants for over two years) if you crave sashimi. As well, the nearest Tube station at Bond Street is a short and direct (as in, impossible to get lost trying to find it) walk. Monocle magazine led me here (their shop is on the same block) which, after a three nights stay, kind of surprised me. I probably wouldn't chose Durrants again for the basic tenets of a dream hotel stay for me do not include beds on wheels that threaten to slide out from under you while you work on your laptop in bed nor musty room smells nor scratchy blankets.

Yelp
Loved this hotel. Charming, clean and a perfect location for eating in the neighborhood. The rooms were compact but bed linen and bathrooms new. I will recommend it to EVERYONE!

Yelp
I was in town to install and exhibition at a nearby gallery and the Gallery booked this hotel. Whoops. The first room they tried to put me in was 20 years past needing a remodel and super tiny and had no AC. They immediately offered another room that was bigger and had AC. This room was right over the reception entrance and even older and more run down than my first room but I took it anyway because it had a decent view and was cool and tolerable. Well, tolerable until I heard the stomping on the creepy floors above me. I couldn't sleep for all the noise coming from the haunted house disco sound effects. Not to mention the toilet that didn't flush or the dirt and dust caked into the vents in the bathroom. After trying to endure two nights I complained to the Gallery that had booked the room and they got me moved to another room. This room was on the third floor and was newly remodeled. It had no view and only one window that faced a brick wall but at least it was quiet and clean. I will say the staff is nice and they attempt to accommodate complaints.... but even with all the politeness I had some trouble. One night I came back and they said my key hadn't been returned to the hook. They accused me of losing it. They had to open my room and only hours later and it turns out the receptionist sort of guy who had to change the flags had misplaced it when he used it to go into my room to climb out the window and change the flags. A hotel is only as good as its worst room so I say one star to you Durrants! Upgrade all the rooms and then we can talk. I will note the staff is very nice.

Yelp
We booked here on the advice of the bride to be, who lives in the area...they stayed here 2 nights as well as prep for their wedding, we were here 3 nights Yes its like going back in time, there are many rooms here I believe and reception is buzzing it seems all the time...almost too much for its small area, however we found the service here really wonderful. They bumped us up to a nicer room upon arrival and we found a very pleasant accommodation, high ceilings, very tranquil, nicely appointed with old fashioned and modern combination: newly redone bathroom. Gets award for BEST makeup mirror ever, can I get one of these for home please? We had some trouble w. the safe but they arrived pronto as well as delivery of iron and board. They are quick to help with a taxi and umbrellas are plentiful. The breakfast room is an old fashioned wooden panel affair: the service is very good but the food just so so. (we went out to eat at La Fromagerie just up the street, see my review and were happy as clams. Also on Sunday there is a nice farmers market behind the hotel. We almost had a meltdown when we could not find the address of the wedding hall and they were totally there for us, doing the research to get the info we needed to call the city hall to see if our couple was on the dockette! Best of all, when we purchased ceramics locally they told us they could wrap them for us and have Mailboxes come and pick up!!! These arrived home faster than we did (STL, MO) and I have never seen such great packing. We only had one issue: Internet! Did not work for 2 days while we were there and this really cramped our style. The fee, high in my opinion, was comped. Hotels should offer FREE wifi, period! We would compare this hotel with one of our favorites ever: the Drisco in Pacific Heights in San Francisco. Thanks Durrants!

Yelp
While my room was not the best the hotel is in a fantastic location for the price. Close to Hyde park and good shopping areas and tube stations. I was too tired to complain as I was only here one night, but do be wary of the room you get shown. Mine was on the ground floor and is very noisy and very shabby and dated. The hotel itself does have a lovely old world charm and the bars and eating areas looked very nice but I didn't get to try them. I'd return if the price was right and I would avoid the lowest class of room if you are really particular about aesthetics as these are in need of updating. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Yelp
Twenty-five years ago, at the recommndation of a friend who lived nearby, we stayed here for a week on our honeymoon. At the time, we observed it wasn't really a honeymooners joint, kind of a place for business meetings. So on our anniversary this month (August, 2014), we returned. The rooms are way too tiny for the price of the hotel, and Durrant's lacks any elegance or old world charm. There must be 1,000 hotels in London better than this. In terms of location, the neighborhood around here has deteriorated markedly in the last 25 years and when we came back late at night the front door had a metal bar on it, so you couldn't sneak in and out if you wanted to, but judging from the crown on nearby Edgeware Blvd, you probably wouldn't want to. We stayed in some sketchy neighborhood in Paris and would have felt safer than around here. Not near the train station, nor Harrod's, so why even consider Durrants. The reasons for its continued existence escape me.
