dusitD2 Chiang Mai

"Directly next to the Night Bazaar, where bargains authentic and otherwise abound, this formerly banal two-star received an all-over makeover by the Dusit group in 2005. The now jagged-edged exterior takes frenetic, artful inspiration from Mondrian and Israeli architect Moshe Safdie. In the photogenic reception area, a sprawling handmade carpet welcomes visitors with rich brown swirls on sunny citrus shades. Beyond an amusing orange Plexiglas archway, the Siam soul soundtrack at Moxie Bar masks noise from blenders whipping up a non-stop flow of tropical daiquiris, though the scene remains spotty as guests nip out for more of the night market. At the back restaurant, decent Thai dishes are best enjoyed curled up among the suede pillows that line the dining pods cocooned in metal mesh. Upstairs, talented Thai interiors firm P49 did their best to spruce up the low ceiling hallways with mood lighting and more eye-catching carpeting. For the 130 rooms, the designers commissioned hill tribe weavers to sew up playful saffron pillows in raw Thai silk that resemble oversized basketballs and beg to be thrown around the boxy but well-lit space. Bedside reading lamps prove more powerful than those found in most first class business hotels. Quirkiness is of course a hallmark of the hippest accommodations. At d2, all needs can be addressed by pressing the “Desires” key on the telephone pad, though serious matters can be addressed to the Guru, a.k.a. general manager. Room service arrives in a flash, delivered by mop top well-spoken young men in uniforms accented with silk cravats and Converse All Stars. Don’t skip dessert, the homemade ginger sorbet makes the sweetest memory of all."

Kin Len Brings Thai Street Food to North Park - Eater San Diego

"Snacks and dishes popular at Thailand’s famous night markets have arrived in North Park where Kin Len has opened on 30th Street next to the Office. With a redesigned outdoor patio, the restaurant’s colorful interior is the nostalgic creation of owner Kan Sritong, who grew up in the country’s historic city of Chiang Mai. Decorated with vintage advertisements and retro snacks and toys, the space is currently offering dinner Tuesday through Sunday but will add weekend lunch service later this month." - Candice Woo

Exceptional Stay at dusitD2 Chiang Mai! We recently had a truly exceptional stay at dusitD2 Chiang Mai and were so impressed by the warm and genuine hospitality we received. A special thank you to Khun Punrada Siripakkamongkol, the Hotel Manager, and Khun Pornpen for their incredibly welcoming demeanor and attentiveness throughout our visit. We were also delighted and very grateful for the generous upgrade to a One Bedroom Suite. This contemporary and versatile space, at 64 sq. m, was a true haven. The seamless integration of the living area and bedroom, with the option to separate them with a sliding door, provided the perfect flexibility and comfort. The "Enhance Privilege" amenities were also a lovely touch. dusitD2 Chiang Mai truly offers a business-class experience right from arrival. Its vibrant and upscale atmosphere makes it a fantastic getaway in the heart of the action. The hotel's convenient location, just off the famous Chang Klan Road in downtown Chiang Mai, is unbeatable. The night bazaar, a plethora of restaurants, and other hotspots are all within easy walking distance, making exploration effortless. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, the ease and convenience offered by dusitD2 Chiang Mai are remarkable. We found the service to be smart and efficient, ensuring all our needs were met with a smile. Our breakfast experiences were excellent, with a good variety of delicious options to start our day. The dining at the hotel restaurant was also enjoyable, with reasonably priced and tasty meals. The hotel's proximity to Chiang Mai Airport was also a definite plus for our travel convenience. dusitD2 Chiang Mai provides a perfect blend of modern comfort, exceptional service, and a prime location. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai, whether for business or leisure. The warm welcome, fantastic suite, convenient location, and overall excellent experience have made our stay truly memorable. We eagerly look forward to returning on our next trip to Chiang Mai!

My spouse and I stayed two nights. The lobby is amazing, very spacious and modern. The breakfast offers a wide selection and is spacious and clean. The service is outstanding. The gym is also notable. Having said this, the rooms are very dated and especially the carpet is very stained and smelly. The staff accepted to change our room but although the room smelled less the carpet is a big issue. But wait it gets worse: the morning of our departure I found a live cockroach on my clothes. I freaked. The employee at reception downplayed the whole thing when I asked the hotel's assistance to speak to their pest control regarding how I could ensure we did not pack pests or pests eggs in our luggage, I received zero assistance. It was not taken seriously.

Dusit2 is a fantastic hotel which caters for your every need. I have stayed at this hotel twice now (10 years apart) and the service is as good as anytime. The staff are sensational; kind, friendly and can’t do enough for you. They make the stay the success that it is. The rooms are fantastic, with a great bathroom, views and services. The hotel is in the heart of things with the Night Bizarre at your doorstep and many, many food places meters away. I will be back!

The staff is friendly and welcoming. Clean and nice hotel, just a bit aged. Overall experience is good. Location is superb with several night bazaar and markets nearby. Vibrant location surrounding the Thai boxing and clubs. Will consider staying in this hotel in future.

We stayed here for 4 nights in August 2024. From a hotel point of view it was great. We had a fantastic 3 bedroom family suite for the 5 of us although how the youngest two ended up in the fancy bedroom / bathroom is beyond me.||The gym here was the best of all the hotels we stayed in. 5 star gym. Space, light, views, machines, barbell and plates (no cage), amity machine, weights everything and all the cardio stuff you might need. Really don’t understand why hotels don’t realise why this sort of things makes such a big deal for so many people and can make or break a hotel stay. ||Pool was good and we had a nice afternoon there - just about big enough to swim and certainly great for the usual family ball games . Usual breakfast buffet. There was a nice bar but the hotel was just so close to the market that no one really used it which was a bit of a shame. From a location point of view it was great and everyone really enjoyed how convenient the night markets were. Recommended.

As soon as you enter, the hotel is spotless and gives a warm and refreshing sensation. These rooms are not only comfortable but well planned in a way that combines modern facilities with a homely feel. One person who deserves special mention is Khun View, the cleaner who does much more than what one would expect in ensuring all the small things are handled. Attention to cleanliness and detail on her part helps to improve general visitors’ experience thereby making their stay very enjoyable indeed.

We have had a fabulous stay at Dusit D2, we love everything about this hotel, we felt the bed was a bit hard so housekeeping added topper straight away, everone of the staff here are so attentive and good at their job, special mention for trainee Song who will be a great asset to this hotel, all of the staff are great and extremely helpful. Great breakfast, everything you need, we ate several meals here, sadly not many guests ate here, the food was great, perhaps hotel could do some meal deals to encourage diners. I have loved every minute here, even during the floods which meant we couldnt get out and about, not the hotels fault. Thank you Dusit D2.

I had a wonderful experience at DusitD2 Chiang Mai! The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city and close to the Night Bazaar and key attractions. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and has all the amenities you need. Highly recommend staying here for a great mix of convenience and hospitality!
