Azalina’s: The Bay Area’s Best Malaysian Chef Is Finally Opening a Her New Restaurant in the Tenderloin - Eater SF

"There’s a new brewery pouring pints in Livermore, the Mercury News reports. Dust Bowl Brewing, which has won several accolades at the California State Fair’s commercial craft beer competition, opened at 3034 West Jack London Boulevard, marking the brewery’s fourth outpost. Good news for fans of thick and fruity brews: the taproom has two dedicated handles for 'rotating ‘smoothie beers’ – sour-fruited beverages in flavors like banana-orange-strawberry and cherry-raspberry-huckleberry-mango.'" - Lauren Saria

Google
Great vibes, great beers, solid food. We ate out on the patio and enjoyed the wide selection of local brews. The IPA I chose had delicious hints of pineapple. Food was prepared in a food truck parked on the property. The brisket burger and flatbread pizzas were solid though a bit overpriced. Service was a bit mixed. Two of our servers weren't very friendly or helpful. Hence the 4 stars rather than 5.

Google
A great place to hang out and relax with friends or family on a warm sunny day. They offer different variety of beer and delicious finger bite foods. We ordered the double cheeseburger with fries, the coconut shrimp, the flatbread cheese pizza and they were delicious. Outside is a small playground and a cornhole board game for young and adults to play. We would definitely come back to this place.

Google
Great beer and excellent service. The layout of this location is great. It has your classic bar with a huge tap list. It’s got wonderful outdoor seating ,food, and some comfy spots inside to sit with a group of friends.

Google
Small but perfect spot to relax and unwind. They have corn hole, and a big fire pit that sits 8. Dogs are welcomed. Atmosphere was perfect and well maintained. You order from the truck then they give you a buzzard let you know food is ready to pick up. They come around and take your orders for drinks. I love coming to places like this. My family and I will definitely return if we're in the area.

Google
What a nice finding!! After shopping across the street, I found this nice brewery and enjoyed some good beers. Place is friendly, cozy, and great to relax. I’ve tried their West Coast IPA which was perfect. Than the Dust IPA that was ok. Food truck next to it makes good burguers

Google
Great brews and knowledgeable staff/servers. They had quite a few high abv options (mostly IPAs). The food truck in the outside patio was very good...went with the fig and prosciutto flat bread (yummy). You can tell that servers/staff/cooks take pride in this establishment. I'd definitely recommend stopping by for a brew (or two) if you're in the area shopping.

This was a cool vibe and idea. You order from a food truck outside and have the choice to sit inside or outside near the many fireplaces provided. There is a lot of beers to choose from and a good menu for eats. We went with the brisket burger and a side salad. Also, a cheeseburger with fries. This was a first time for us and we don’t live in the area but when we get back we will be back.

Google
Great place to sit outside and have a drink and meal. FYI, Food is served in Styrofoam containers and plastic forks. Waitress for drinks counter service for food. Very Casual.

Yelp
Adore the abundance of patio seating and can bring the dogs. The large farm tables outside are gorgeous. There were a variety of seating inside and outside. Food was ordered outside and they brought it to us. It was very attentive service when we went. They brought water out for the dogs and came by often enough. The sidewinder fries were a very cool shape, had some crunch bits, big scoops of guac and sour cream. The carne asade was very generic though, not much char or flavor, just avg ground beef. The quesadilla came out hot, Had a lot of melty tasty cheese, but could have had a little more meat. The wings were good sized and we liked both the flavors. We ordered about 4 diff types of beers and we liked all of them. They had a good selection of summery, fruit flavored beers that were so so so refreshing and good. That mango one, my goodness! You can add extra dollar to make them micheladas but not all the beers would be good for that. Liked it a lot, and want to be more regulars here.

Yelp
Dust Bowl was a beautiful, spacious brewery with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Their food is self order outside, but you can always bring your food to eat indoors. They have TVs all around the place, even outside, so you can catch your game from anywhere within the brewery. Service was quick, but be prepared to wait longer for a server to come around during busier days. Their ahi poke nachos were made with fried wonton chips, which were an excellent substitute to traditional tortilla chips! The strawberry margarita seltzer and smoked scotch beer were crisp, refreshing, and tasty. There is corn hole and a grassy area for all kids and kids at heart in their back area. I loved the set up and see ourselves back for our next group outing.

Yelp
Nothing like spending a Saturday night with friends at dustbowl. We had several different drinks and a few appetizers as well as the Korean chicken sandwich. The drinks were great and the food was also delicious. We got to sit outside and then towards the end of the night we were able to sit around the fire pit. It was a lovely Saturday night with amazing vibes. There's free parking there and even Tesla charging if you need to charge. All the staff were nice and very attentive.

Yelp
You have to order your food at the cashier and get your own water and pick up your food from the food truck when it's ready. The only thing they served you was the beer. We had a prosciutto and fig pizza and the chicken wings. It was average... a little salty actually.
google avatar

Amit S.

Yelp
The beer choices were really good and unique. The fruity flavor to some of the beer was really refreshing. It definitely left an impact in terms of the taste and smoothness. The burgers and food choices are limited but that's OK given the highlight are the drinks. Overall excellent service, nice casual ambiance and easy parking are a great plus.

Yelp
It was a cold Saturday and after shopping we stopped into Dust Bowl Brewing to see what it had to offer. They have lots of seating outside with fire pits and enclosed patio seating with tvs. We opted for inside where there was comfy chairs and couches for two. My husband loved the coffee stout and I had a salt rimmed margarita....Yum. Our wonderful server Julia was very attentive and helpful as we were newbies and had no idea how this place operated. We ordered clam chowder which hit the spot on a drizzling cold afternoon and the chicken sandwich for my husband with garlic fries. There is no in house kitchen so you have to order from the on-site food truck. All food was brought to our table fresh and hot. With so many choices of beer we decided to order a flight and wow did they pack a puch...in a good way! We are looking forward to our next visit.

Yelp
Dust Bowl is definitely a welcomed change to all the chain restaurants by the outlets. There's seating indoors and outdoors. Outdoors thankfully have awnings where you can be in the shade when it's out or around a firepit in the colder evenings. They usually have live music on Thursdays. I think there is some kind of cornhole setup too. Their assortment of beer is friendlier in that there are more than just IPAs which I am so grateful for. Their strawberry margarita hard seltzer is dangerously delicious. It doesn't taste anything like White Claws but more like juice. ABV is pretty high up there so be careful. Water is self-serve. I haven't tried their restaurant but the BBQ truck they used to have was good too. Unlike the outlets on weekends/holidays, parking is easy for the Dust Bowl.

Yelp
Went here for a late lunch . My gf and I got salad and chicken wings. The food was lackluster as was the service. We did not get checked on but once and no water refills were offered the entire time. I can understand if they were busy but it was 2pm on a Wednesday . On top of that I had to ask for my check . When I approached the register I noticed our wonderful waitress leaning against the table in her phone . I paid and told her I was thirsty and she did not even offer any water . I felt nice enough to give her something as a tip but after that I wish I hadn't . Young girl has a lot to learn in life.

Yelp
First timer experience was great! No problem with seating. We sat at the bar as it was a bit cool outside and we didn't want to sit on the sofas. I was able to taste a couple beers since I've never had any before and their recommendation was perfect. Honestly I don't remember which one it was but it was really good. Ordering food is easy - go outside and put it on your tab. We had the Okie flatbread pizza and the special Cajun Shrimp Boil. It was totally coincidence that the Warriors were playing Oklahoma, too. :-) Food came out piping hot less than 10 minutes after we ordered. The flatbread pizza was fresh and very tasty. Certainly enough for two, or even leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. The Cajun shrimp boil was spicy! I was sweating after the first couple bites! 7 shrimp and 5 corn slices, along with garlic bread and andouille sausage. This was filling and went great with the beer. Will certainly come back!

Yelp
Nice spacious brewery with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff here are all friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. From entering and looking at their canned beers the staff had helped us with questions we had. Especially Alex aka Storm. He was very friendly and told us a lot about the beers. We were able to sample the beers we wanted to try before actually getting ordering them.

Yelp
First time here but got the Buffalo chicken pizza and it was pretty darn great! I'm not a huge beer drinker but they have a ton of different kinds to choose from. Got some extra Buffalo sauce with it as well and it was great!

Yelp
Awesome service here! walked in here after visiting the outlets and was immediately informed about the beers and recommended suggestions on what to try based on our preferences. The bartender who helped us was such a delight! definitely will be coming back because of Alex. He was very on point when it comes to getting refills and checking in on. Yes yes yes to dust bowl!

Yelp
"Can it get any better?" This is one of my favorite beer gardens in the bay area. Whenever I'm in Livermore, I make it a point to stop here. It's right off the freeway, and free parking is plentiful. I always have a great experience, and today was no exception. The hard-working bartender, Mike, was super friendly, as was the food hostess, Kristen. I don't know how you find these great employees, but keep it up. As usual, I got the Hobo beer. It's a German pilsner, and it never fails to satisfy. It's perfect for a hot summer afternoon. On a warm summer day, this is a wonderful place to spend a few hours, either inside or outside. Note that they now own their own food service, with a slightly different menu. I cannot think of any way to improve this business. Management is doing all the right things. Kudos to Spencer for running such an excellent business. I bet the owners are really happy with this location

Yelp
The beer, as usual, was excellent! But this is a review of the food. The old food truck is gone, replaced with their own food and it is so good. I had the chicken wings and they were huge. A single order could be a meal for one person (ask me how I know!). The pepperoni flatbread was awesome. The 2 kiddos loved it and it would have fed another adult as well plus another kid. Definitely good value! I love the seating here. One of the best outdoor spaces in the East Bay. Lots of space for large groups!
google avatar

Yelp
This was our first time here. The people are extremely friendly and told us how it all worked! Thank You! My wife had the buffalo chicken sandwich and ate the whole thing. She never does that! I had the Korean chicken sandwich with gochujang sauce and it was messy, that means it was great! My wife said we need to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute place to enjoy outdoor eating and drink on a beautiful sunny day. You can sit inside or outside. It's self serve seating, and a waiter will come and get your drink order and you will place your food order outside. Large selection of to go brews as well. A beautiful casual space! I loved that this place had every age in the building, I mean from new borns to elders. Dust Bowl was welcoming and the food we ordered was great!

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick drink after shopping on a weekday afternoon. Staff were very friendly and this is definitely a spot I may stop by again after hanging at the Livermore Outlets for a day. I had a strawberry iced margarita drink (?) and it was pretty tasty. I liked that they had options for different amounts to get, in case I wanted to have a smaller taste of one drink before committing to another. Vibes were fun inside. Casual ambiance for sure. Husband's review: "The couches were comfy inside!"
google avatar

Yelp
Fun vibes here at Dust Bowl Brewing located in a shopping center across from the Livermore Outlets. Super friendly staff and enough space at the bar, as well to sit down and eat inside or at the patio. Cool for a casual date as well as for families! For a casual bar and good vibes, 5 stars is a no-brainer!

Yelp
Came here on a rainy Monday afternoon hoping for a quick bite, knowing they're a brewery first and restaurant second. There was a decent amount of people at the bar but the rest of the place was pretty much empty, which was awesome since it was quiet and we could actually have a conversation. There is plenty of seating both inside and out, of course since it's rainy we sat inside. The bartender/waiter was so awesome, I wish I'd have asked for his name. I was in the mood for a michelada and he recommended a beer with it based on what I was in the mood for, it was perfect! We got some garlic fries and a caprese flatbread to share which was perfect to split for two. If you're wondering how this Dustbowl compares to the one in Turlock- this one is much smaller, they don't have as big of a menu for both the beers and food. I have also only been to the one in Turlock when they're super packed (which seems always) so the atmosphere at this one was a lot more chill. Also these guys are open early so you can grab lunch!

Yelp
Beer is delicious. Food is good too. But is it necessary to have to go plastic containers for food when you are eating there? What a waste! This place really needs to get with it and offer real plates and real silverware. They offer Plastic and disposable everything except for the beer glasses. Lame! Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful. Vibe is laid back. Our experience overall was awesome and I do love their peace, love and haze IPA.
google avatar

Sarah Z.

Yelp
Love this brewery! The food and drinks are great. Service was decent and ambiance was super lively. They have a large selection of beer to choose from. The best part here is the food. I got the poke nachos and taco salad. The portions were HUGE and delicious. Overall great hangout spot with friends.

Yelp
Came by here on a Friday night to catch up with my cousin. Got here around 530pm and it was a little busy but we found seats outside. We ordered some flights since we couldn't decide on what to really get. They have a food truck outside that sells fried foods so if you need some grub your good. They have a nice extensive menu on here for drinks. From light beers to the heavy stuff. The staff here is very nice and courteous and they do an amazing job making sure everyone is happy.

Yelp
In the area shopping to my hearts content at the outlets ran into this gem when I didn't want to eat at the over priced over crowded food court. They are across the street and in walking distance! Super yummy food for me and for the hubster plenty of selections of beer on tap, bottle served all ways! They have indoor and outdoor seating from couches to high top tables to outdoor picnic style seating... this place was so fun! Staff was super friendly and patient, our server was nice and kept checking on us. We saw people come with their kids and pups, it was a real nice atmosphere! They even have lawn games! We will come back and look forward to trying other dishes as this time around we stuck with cheeseburger and fries which did not disappoint! There's also fire pits which I'm sure are super nice at night! Check them out!!! Support local and enjoy a yummy beer! Your server comes to the table takes your drink order and keeps your tab open. Walk up to the middle kitchen area outside, give them the name of your open tab and order your meal, buzzer is given to you and when your food is ready buzzz!! You go and grab and bring to your table... done and done!

Yelp
Great service, delicious beer, and the food was incredible too! We originally sat in the lounge seats and placed our order, but once the food arrived, we realized we needed a proper table to eat our food. We moved seats but chose to close out because we were moving out of our servers area. Even though she wasn't officially our server, she continued to check in to make sure we had everything we needed. We shared a house salad (standard, nothing special) and the bbq brisket pizza (holy cow this was amazing). They put pickled red onions on top of the pizza instead of caramelized, and it provided a delicious acidic relief from the heavy fattiness of the pizza. We were raving about it for the rest of the day.
google avatar

Billy N.

Yelp
Of course there are many great beers on tap, especially the high % DIPAs. But the food is amazing as well. The brisket pizza is insanely good.
google avatar

Yelp
Really great service and great beers! I ordered 2 of the hard seltzer's and my partner got 3 beers and even bought a pack to bring home. Highly recommend. They have Ample parking and clean bathrooms, always a plus!

CESAR M.

Yelp
The food is really good, I tried the Prime Rib burger and it was delicious, perfectly cooked and flavorful spreads on it. But the star the show is undoubtedly the craft beer. They have a nice and extensive variety of beers. The servers are so attentive and provided fast service. One of them even offered a water bowl for my dog. This place is excellent option as an after of going shopping to the San Francisco Premium Outlets.
google avatar

Margie L.

Yelp
This place is conveniently located near Tesla charging station, very nice atmosphere and they welcome furry friends in,they don't have food here but they allow food from outside ,there's a lot of assorted beer to choose from from, you can play cornhole outside while enjoying your beer, staff are very nice and friendly.

Yelp
Loved my visit here. I had soul crusher which was delicious. I'm a dark beer person and this was perfect- sweet, rich and tasty. My boyfriend had the dust bowl IPA and really enjoyed it. Vibe here is casual and comfortable. Great parking. Service was excellent. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I've never been to their OG Turlock location, but I have always been a fan of their brews, either in cans or on taps at local bars/restaurants. They just opened up a smaller taproom in Livermore across the street from the outlet stores. Now when I say smaller, I just mean smaller than the Turlock location which I heard was huuuugggee. This is much smaller than that, but it is a very nice space with indoor space with high ceilings flooded with natural light and a lively outdoor patio that could probably house at least 75 people maybe closer to 100 in communal bench style seating with some patio furniture. I am a fan of the space, very clean and modern and not divey or warehouse-y at all, which a lot of modern beer places are. Also FYI, no brewing is done at this location, that is all done in Turlock. They basically have one glass that they use for all their beers here, you just have to pick a size and they'll fill that goblet style glass up accordingly. Love the streamlined operation. So if you want to do a flight, you just have to order their sample size which can range from $3.50 to $5.50 for like a 5 oz pour. So one does have to be mindful that if you load up your flight with high gravity brews like IPAs and Imperials, then your flight may cost you about $30. Choose wisely young Jedi. I probably tried about 5 different brews on our 2 hour chill sesh on the patio and I liked most of them except for 1. I tried 3 lighter styles, 1 pale ale and only 1 IPA. Loved their pilsner style, think it was called Hobo and equally enjoyed their pale ale and this Mexican Lager brew. Actually the only one I didn't care for was their Dustbowl Lager, which was an amber hued light beer that just didn't have the same balance as the others. But I will have to say that Dustbowl is now in my top 3 for California craft brews. Food is offered by a separate business from a food trailer that is full time there. It is a bbq catering company out of Danville which I will review in a separate listing. You just scan the QR code, place and pay for your food order and it will be brought out to your table by a server, which was pretty cool. Often times with food truck scenarios you have to get up and fend for yourself. Here there is a nice level of service attached to your outing. Now all drink purchases through Dustbowl is paid through a different bill, so there is that, but it didn't affect us at all. Now parking and traffic can be hellish out here on weekends due to the proximity to the outlet stores, and extrapolated on long weekends when shoppers are in swarm mode, which we unfortunately had to experience. This strip's parking even says 'no outlet mall parking' but that didn't stop the masses from doing so. But at least once settled into the place, only good and chill times are to be had. That'll bring me back, just not on a long weekend.

Yelp
1st time here and I gotta say what a great place, great beer options, great indoor and outdoor seating options and they even have their own food truck on site. Lots of food options appetizers, burgers, pizzas, we had 2 appetizers the quesadilla and the poke nachos both were excellent. Been to most if not all the taprooms in livermore area and I gotta say this one is up there. Definitely give it a try.

Yelp
Update! The Dust Bowl Brewing food truck is up and running!! We have been patiently waiting for the food truck to open. Today was the day. We can 100% recommend the ahi poke nachos and the smoked brisket flatbread! Can't wait to try the other numerous choices on the menu.

Yelp
We've visited the Monterey location and decided to check out this spot. It was great. Very spacious inside with some booths, narrow high tops, and bar seating. The outside area was great and clearly growing. They have a permanent food "truck" type area that has lots of great choices for apps, sandwiches, salads, flatbreads, etc. Their beer selection was top notch with all sorts of options including a margarita hard seltzer, which I saw quite a few folks ordering. There's a nice big fridge for you to grab some beverages to go, as well as, a small merchandise area. We ordered a flatbread and a buffalo chicken sandwich. The food came out fairly quick and hot. It was all delicious and I'd order other options in the future. All the staff were great. Very friendly and attentive. There's plenty of parking too. Bathrooms are very nice and clean. Definitely worth checking out...especially after a long day of shopping at the outlets.
google avatar

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Casual place for a date night or just for drinks with friends/coworkers. The inside of the brewery is fairly small in my opinion, but there's plenty of outdoor seating. You seat yourself and the server will get your drinks and put your credit card on file to open a tab. There's a variety of different IPAs to try and also a food menu. You order the food outside at the food truck and you just pick it up when the buzzer goes off. I ordered the taco salad and also the burger with fries. Good size portions, but the fries were dry though.

Yelp
What a nice addition to the Livermore area. I stumbled upon this brewery while driving by to a near by restaurant. I quickly yelped it to remind myself to check it out. My boyfriend and I stopped by after eating and it was a nice treat for a Sunday afternoon. We grabbed a beer and sat outside of the patio area while watching the 49ers play. It was nice and warm with the near by fire pits and entertained by the live music singing in the background. The two choices of sour beers we had were good. I even bought one to go. We will be back to try their pop-up food truck and other list of beers. I do appreciate the facility being clean (tables are always being wiped), family friendly, open spaces outside with corn hole area, fire pits, outdoor television, lounge area inside, and bar sitting inside too. Oh can't forget how they keep their restrooms clean. That is a big plus!

Yelp
Found this place on yelp, had to try it out. Some of the reviews are old reviews. They don't have the sampler platter anymore or the tri-tip burger,so we tried the brisket burger, and it was delicious! It's a burger with brisket Slices on top yummy so was the chicken quesadilla! had to try the poke nachos, it's so yummy and definitely not skimpy on the tuna... went on a Monday afternoon not to busy. They are kid friendly. The waiter was amazing very helpful with what to order and great customer service! Did a few tasting of their beers and I decided to have the strawberry mango spritzer beer, really good. The atmosphere was great the place was clean. Indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to go to for a football game lots of TVs. No kitchen insides, so the food is made in a truck brought in.that's why they use plastic utensils and paper plates. Will definitely be back again with friends.

Yelp
The other day I came in to pick up a gift card and pack of beer for my dads bday. The guy was super helpful with me picking out a beer and ringing me up for a gift card! Excited to come back and try out the food/drinks here with my dad!

Yelp
We had a wonderful time out in their patio. The service was prompt, the beer tasty, and the food delicious. We'll be back!

Yelp
Great service and wonderful beers. Enjoyed the vibes and outdoor porch. Ambiance was nice on a Monday around lunchtime.

Yelp
Paired with a great food truck that belongs to the brewery!!!! The poke natchos were great! Yummy - crispy won ton chips / nice twist of edamame & cucumber that's pulled together with a great sauce & a good amount of poke. The drunken noodles were also a hit. A teeny bit oily but overall nice kick if you are in to spicy. So glad that we ventured away from our flat bread pizza & standard appetizers. The beers were refreshing. The Pilsner was clrean & crips. The therapist was nice and strong @ 10.4 % while the Trail IPA was also a winner.

Yelp
What a fantastic addition to Livermore!! I've honestly never heard of the place prior to them opening nearby the outlets, but they seem to also have popular locations in Monterey, Turlock, and Elk Grove. The general vibe of this place though is great - it seems like it'd be a lovely place to just sit and hang out with good company or watch a sports game since there's so many TVs all over the place. We went with a few tasters to make a beer flight to try a bit of everything. My favorite by a LONG shot was the Peach Love & Haze. It tasted pretty refreshing and had a slight sour kick to it that I really enjoyed. The Mouth Full of Miracles would've been a close second. They also sell cans and cases of their beer if you want to bring anything home! They're located quite literally across the street from the outlet so it's a nice place to stop by after a day of shopping. My only con is the food... it's not all too amazing but I wouldn't knock them down on it too hard since it's a separate truck. I'd definitely love to see them have a rotation of food trucks or allow customers to bring in their own food.
google avatar

Yelp
What a great new spot! Came on a Sunday afternoon and it's super busy inside and outdoors. They're still open during construction, but there is great music and drinks! Tried a full pour of both the mango guava kettle sour and Kash crop watermelon. Loved them!

Yelp
Came here randomly to eat. It was so clean and kid friendly. We sat outside. All our drinks were really good. The seltzer surprised me and even bought a 6 pack on the way out. They have carry out options in cans. Really loved that they had their taster options at a decent price. Food was ordered Separately but all on the same tab. Food was also delicious. No complaints. Bring the kids. Enjoy the day.

Yelp
We love going to Dust Bowl. It's a Family favorite. The beer is good, the ambience is nice and everyone's pretty friendly. The barbecue truck is no Bueno though. We'd probably go there more often but just really don't enjoy the food truck at all. I wonder if they could mix it up and have someone else come in there once in a while.?

Yelp
We really enjoyed the food and drink here, and the service was friendly and attentive. Both the burger and the chicken sandwich were amazing, and we enjoyed the flights of beer we tried as well. Nice outdoor area but also good indoor space. A little dirty, though. You order drinks at your table and give them a credit card to open a tab. Then you use the name on the card to order food at the food truck. Pretty simple and efficient system; we liked it better than at some other places. Definitely will return.
