Philly’s Best Grab & Go Meals - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"The problem at Dutch Country in the Northeast isn’t what you’ll get. It’s what you’ll have to leave without. There are piles of crispy fried wings and golden shrimp, mountains of comfort food sides like buttery mashed potatoes or creamy corn, and soft pretzels in classic, dog, and nugget form. Variety is the name of the game here, and getting it all in sturdy plastic containers to-go is the winning move. Come in for whatever you’re craving, but take it from us, and don’t leave without the crispy BBQ wings and a slice of apple pie." - candis mclean

Love it!! The people, the environment, the food. Just amazing. First time going today. Will definitely be going back..Everything is so fresh!!

Cherished Vessels

Google
It gets crowded in the afternoon. Best to go early, when the store first opens. The hot bar is delicious. Fresh meats and deli. I haven't tried everything at all of the kiosks. My faves are the fresh baked pretzels. 🥨 Can't go a week without craving them!

Google
I used to really enjoy this place until I witnessed something that was very disappointing. I saw the staff pick up pork ribs and then use the same tongs on the beef ribs without changing them. As a Muslim woman, this is deeply concerning, and I’m sure many other Muslim customers are unaware that this happens. I would definitely return if I knew that proper food-handling practices were in place — like using separate tongs for different types of meat, especially pork and non-pork items. I hope the management takes this into consideration out of respect for all customers’ dietary needs.

Google
Best wings in the city, hands down. It's not the great smoked flavors either(although, they are fantastic too), but the freshness and quality of the wings. They are smoked and cooked perfectly. Not burnt and dried out. Their Beef Ribs are phenomenal too. Just understand, if u go on Friday and Saturday, be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes minimum. Also, it is very expensive. $12.99/lb for wings, $19.99/lb for beef ribs. But do not worry, they let u pick the most meaty wings and ribs. Wonderful Amish/Mennonite(not sure their exact affiliations) who are super helpful!.. Best of the best. Place also has super fresh fruit smoothies, Amish Bakery goods... Can't say enough good things. Only con is it is packed a lot!😆

Google
This place is a hidden gem! So much goodness to choose from that I will need to come back multiple times. I got their ribs, chicken wings, and a smoothie. All great and fresh. Kind service as well. Highly recommend!

Google
I saw a review online and immediately had to travel there from South Philly. We arrived on a Saturday, around 10:30 AM. It was busy, but not jam packed. Being from Lebanon County, just north of Dutch Country, PA, I was excited to get some items that are difficult to find in Philadelphia l. I would say that it represents some of the booths from Reading Terminal Market. I was disappointed that the women at the meat counter reported that they don't even carry Lebanon Bologna. I also could not find any pimento cheese. We purchased five different types of wings, some kielbasa that was already smoked, some desserts and pretzels. We tailgated in the lot and enjoyed the food. We got a large quantity of items and spent about $100.00. With Reading Terminal closer to South Philly, we think that we will stick with that, but it is worth a visit if you live closer. The staff are very friendly and quick to you.

Google
I still say coming here beats going downtown to Reading Terminal. They need to expand and although they ran out of most things we wanted it still is good. I must warn against string beans (not good too much sugar); the. garlic flavored pretzels weren't at all good.

Google
There's so much there that I enjoy! #1 is their wings (fried, smoked, bbq, etc.). With the hot roast beef sandwiches on the other side being a close 2nd. Their deli side is great as well. It's packed by noon, so I make it a habit to be there early on weekends.

Yelp
the pretzels are so good. very oily, crispy, and yummy the service was great! overall it was a 10/10 experience. I will be going back when I go back to philly

Yelp
It's been many years since I've been to Dutch Country farmers market. It's just how I remembered it. Great variety of meats, sweets, and everything in between. When you go, be patient and be ready to pay for each item per area. It's separate counters where you pay. They take cash and credit cards. The vibe is crowded but people are polite if you are polite. The sandwiches on potato roll is my fav. Prices are good
google avatar

Yelp
I been hearing so much about the Farmer's Market for many years. This year I decided to stop by to see what the rave was about. When I entered the store, I was unsure how the line worked but I just followed the crowd, grabbed a number and waited for it to be called. It was pretty crowed but the line moved fast and customer service was good. I ordered a pound of beef ribs, seafood salad and roasted potatoes. The roasted potatoes was dry as if they had it sitting out for awhile however the beef ribs was falling off the bone good. It was tender and had a good smooked flavor. The seafood salad was also very good! Overall I would definetly come back whenever I'm in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Joyce O.

Yelp
Some very good regional favourites sold here. I haven't been here in some time .though
google avatar

Alice M.

Yelp
I visited the Dutch Country Farmer this past weekend. The service was fantastic and the roast beef sandwich was delicious. The layout was different, easier to be served.
google avatar

Rhonda M.

Yelp
We ordered several wing options: garlic parmesan, smoked, lemon pepper and rotisserie. They were seasoned well and all of them were delicious. We also purchased the cheesesteak egg-rolls which were equally delicious. This experience quick and nice. The market had other vendors as well and they had options from baked goods, apple butter to lunchmeat. This place is a must visit!
google avatar

Kelli M.

Yelp
Love this place. We got ribs, roasted carrots and cucumber salad for dinner. I've never had anything bad from here. My son loved the pretzels and the smoothies. The pretzels sell out early so sometimes when we go after school they are sold out already, get there early if you want them.
google avatar

Denis M.

Yelp
I ordered a variety of different things. I'll break them all down but you can check the video out on YouTube EMOORE45. I ordered the Rotisserie chicken wings I ordered chicken tenders garlic parmigiana wings Boneless Bourbon wingless homey barbecue wings and fried shrimp everything was simply amazing. The place was packed but the customer service was top notch and quick. I would definitely recommend this place i will differently be back there
google avatar

Keisha Y.

Yelp
Food is great! It's fresh, delicious and seasoned very well. Their service is wonderful, they are very courteous, responsive and helpful. As far as ambiance, the space is well lit, everything is easily displayed and labeled. 10 out of 10... I have already gone twice and will definitely be back. As a customer just doing regular shopping, I would suggest NOT going during lunch time as it is crowded. It does move fast tho, they use a number calling system which works out well. Ample parking.
google avatar

Russell B.

Yelp
All ima say it get there early... they have a lot of food nothing seems to run out it's just everyone goes there seems like at the same time on a Saturday. Probably a lot better on a weekday

Angel L.

Yelp
For my first time I had the worst experience. Let's start with the beef ribs greasy, no flavor whatsoever and half raw. I do not understand what people see in these ribs. They are the nastiest non flavor ribs ever. I brought them home and put them in the oven for at least 2 hours with barbecue sauce and still they went to the trash $51 of garbage and Let me tell you never again and I came from Jersey. So for those people that gave that a 4 and better. Yeah, you have no palate.
google avatar

Jauwanna W.

Yelp
All of the hot food, salads, and pretzels are good. The fruit is always sweet. I wish they had they had longer hours.

Kyle H.

Yelp
TMake your way their:2031 Cottman Ave 19149 the beef ribs are very juicy fried shrimp are fried just right not greases at all
google avatar

Yelp
It's a great place to go to for good food and drinks, the chicken wings and salads are so so good!
google avatar

Tess G.

Yelp
What's not to love? We get the dry rub baby back ribs there. Very meaty! Also, the three bean salad, cucumber salad. The meat stall has nice pork chops and scapple.
google avatar

Jeannelle B.

Yelp
This is a small place nestled in a plaza. There's nowhere to sit; everything is to go. I suspect it was always that was at this place. There's various counters. I knew I wanted to get smoked wings, but I also got chocolate mousse pie for myself and apple pie for the little folks to split. My daughter was amazed that a little boy about her age was the one who helped us with our pies. The smoked chicken is SPICY. I don't know if any reviewers mentioned that but yeow! 'Twas delicious but hubs was like "she hates me," because the wings were spicier than he likes. Once he had a slice of bread, he was happier.

Tom C.

Yelp
Nice grocery store attached to the Shady Maple Smorgasbord. Arguably more entertaining than the Smorgasbord itself, as it has some interesting baked goods and other Lancaster County specialties. Definitely a must stop if you're already at the buffet. It's a bit much to stop for on its own.

Yelp
I stopped into the Dutch Country Farmers' Market for lunch a few days ago. I had purchased fresh meats from them in the past, but this was my first time trying the prepared food. There is a huge parking lot behind the venue. The driveway entrance from Cottman Avenue can get a little congested with cars. Upon my entry into the building I observed quite a large group of people standing in front of the prepared food counter. I grabbed a number and squeezed in so I could see what looked good. The market offered fried wings, roasted wings, sausage, beef and pork ribs, french fries and onion rings just to name a few things. With four cashiers working it wasn't long before my number was called. I ordered onion rings, kielbasa, garlic parmesan wings, and beef ribs. The market doesn't offer a seating area so I had to wait until I got home to dig in. The beef ribs were meaty and tender. They came with a sweet barbecue sauce that was a nice compliment to the beef. They could've used just a little more salt and pepper for my taste. The onion rings were nice and crispy with large pieces of sweet onion. The wings were meaty and had plenty of garlic parmesan flavor. The kielbasa had a nice snap when I bit into it and it was tasty. I would say that the food was room temperature and I enjoyed it more once I heated it up more. I'll definitely be heading back to try some of the other wing flavors.

Yelp
Food is always so fresh and delicious, and the variety of hot and cold foods will have your stomach and tastebuds going crazy. So bring plenty of money because the fresh rolls and baked items will have you yearning for more. Did I forget to mention the deli where you can get fresh sandwiches made to order, and who needs a meat market when you can get fresh and I mean fresh meat from the meat counter. But please don't forget to pick up some of the rotisserie wings , you won't regret it.

Yelp
I drive a little ways to shop at this small Amish Market. The market has about 5 counters. Parking: Lot. The lot can get really packed. Atmosphere: loud Service: The hot food counter sells smoked meats and sides. Lunch time there's a lonnng wait time! You'll have to take a number. I got the smoked wingettes which are delicious!! Very flavorful!! They have a few different flavors. They have sausage and ribs that fall off the bone!!! The turkey and chicken counter is fresh and have a good variety of products. You can even order a fresh Turkey m for holidays. They also sell cider, lemonade and other items. The servers are pleasant. Sides & desserts counter. I got the Coleslaw. I prefer the sweet slaw. I also like their seafood salad. You can get a sample before purchasing which is great so just ask. Overall it's not a big location but they have the things I need. Enjoy!
google avatar

Dawn J.

Yelp
Best of everything, from wings to ribs.. cornbread..cooked chickens. The roast beef and gravy is to die for and then you have the puddings and salads and creamed beef. Also their fresh meats and steaks are the best. There is not one thing I've tried that not good! Definitely go there

Justin S.

Yelp
This place was amazing! They have so much stuff I was overloaded! The pickle section was amazing and they have tons of meat, spices and produce. The bakery section was amazing too! Not to mention all the homemade foods and hot meals.
google avatar

Sonja W.

Yelp
Everyone is so nice and helpful. They have a large selection of cooked food, the ribs ham, and fried chicken are my favorites. They also have limited seating to eat there. You can difinetley go food shopping there, they have everything from whole chicken to breakfast sausage to homemade maple syrups etc, etc . But u cannot leave before visiting the bakery section, OMG the cinnamon sticks n pretzels. I almost forget the corned beef and pastrami, half the price of the supermarket. Just go, you want regret it.
google avatar

Yelp
Best fresh meats in town. Love everything about this market. Shopped here since they opened. Expensive but the quality is worth it.
google avatar

Rich B.

Yelp
This place has improved much in the past year. The seafood medley, the yellow macaroni salad from Stolzfus Deli, & the soft pretzels are still great. Baked goods from B-I-H & Pellman are available if limited. Still no fresh fruit or veg, but some new offerings will bring me back more often. They have added a meat purveyor that has some quality beef of all kinds including fresh ground reg. & lean, pork, and sausages. Bacon, pork or beef(which I tried for the first time & liked; still not as good as pork) is another option. Tried the beef philly cheesesteak sausages and they were just O.K. They also have a deli w/ meats and cheeses by the pound; and a fridge full of cheeses, spreads, yogurt and stuff from Lanacster Co. Prices are fair and quality is great! I also see that Dienners from Lancaster co. has opened up a poultry stand where the other crappy one was. Gotta try their products next. Pepole are always lined up for the bbq chicken, so perhaps another time as well.

Elvy V.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting and I got the chocolate chip cheesecake. This might be one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had or at least top 5 . Whoever is making their cheesecakes knows what they are doing and I'm salivating thinking about it. I will definitely be hoping to make another visit to try and get some more savory options, but this place definitely looks like they know what they are doing. Another plus was the very friendly staff. Would recommend for those in the area to visit.
google avatar

Shardai G.

Yelp
There's some good food here. Particularly, wings, salads and some desserts. However, the interactions is very strange, and it interferes with customer service. I am very observant to the way businesses emphasizes their customer experience. If you are that way too, then you know how important it is. As Americans, we value "thanks and have a good day" when we patronage a business since we don't have to. But, when you give an air as if it is not a priority I am less inclined to come back. That's one qualm I have here. The other is the not-so-great prices. I think they can be slightly less. I got a small, flat container of macaroni salad that I felt was higher in price compared to other places. I expected more for the price. In sum, I think it's a good place to go to if you're hungary for something non-fast foot and in the area.

Drew A.

Yelp
Love the pretzels and meat counters. The fresh green pickles are stellar also. All types of tasty woopie piez.
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
Amazing food, especially the smoked wings and chicken etc. excellent!!!!! Nice friendly people, the location is kind Hidden.

Yelp
This is a great small place with huge variety ! The hot foods are good sold by the pound . Nice selection of fresh meats , delicious desserts, salads , I love their fruit punch , chocolate milk and the handmade cinnamon pretzels sticks . It is a bit crowded at times but moves very swiftly and the ppl are friendly . I recommend this place
google avatar

RM P.

Yelp
First of all, I am not sure about the reviews on here because the prices at this Farmer's Market are comparable to other Farmer's I have been to. The food was good at most of the stalls we tried. At Dutch Country Luncheonette the sausage sandwich was good. The only thing that bothered me was that customers didn't bring reusable bags. I was the only one. All that plastic, and all of that waste just floating around.
google avatar

Yelp
Well after working a hard day I went over my friends house and she was there with her cousin and her cousin allowed me to take a smoke chicken wing that she said came from the Dutch country watermark when I tell you this when was the best wing I possibly have in my entire life that's 33 years that's a long darn time I waited until Wednesday because that was the day they were open again to get my smoked wings and honey it was well worth the wait they were delicious for about a pound it was about 8 to 9 dollars and I got some some roasted potatoes as well however I want to find of them but my smoked wings were asked salute Lee delicious I can't wait to go back and try all of the other things that people rave about here at this place most of the time your food is done by nine I did have to wait a few minutes for my smoked wings but it was all worth the wait this place also have baked good and fresh meat so check them out ASAP

Shee G.

Yelp
OMG. Stumbled upon this place and was NOT disappointed. Meaty, flavorful, fall off the bone beef ribs. Pretzels and cakes. Fresh meats. This us definitely my new place to shop.

Charlotte D.

Yelp
I love this place. I sneak here whenever I can on my lunch break. It will be busy during lunch so be prepared. Also, Fridays are nuts in here. I really enjoy the chicken place. The garlic parm fried wings and smoked wings are my favorite. Recently, I have been trying the other vendors. The hot roast beef sandwich was very good from the pretzel place. Last time I had the seafood salad from the salad place and that was very good as well. I always end up spending $10-12 here for lunch. More than I want to but it is worth it. All the workers are very friendly, especially at the salad and smoothie station. If they do not have a smoothie flavor ready in the case, they will make it on the spot for you. Not to mention, the pricing here is way better than the Reading Terminal Market. This is the only place besides the West Chester Farmers Market that has wings in multiple flavors Tip #1: Come here for breakfast! They have breakfast filled pretzels! Tip #2: They are closed Sundays-Tuesdays (i think) and double check the hours because they close at about 5pm. Tip #3: Go before 3pm on a Friday, anytime after, many wings are sold out

Yelp
This place has the best food, cooked or uncooked! I started going here because I'm stopping eating processed foods and want all natural and organic food now.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, very little fruits and vegs and the watermelons dont look real... a little pricey

Yelp
Hold. Up. Is this an AMISH MARKET, or just a market run by Amish people? There is an Amish Market here in Willingboro, and what makes it an Amish Market is that the stuff is MADE BY AMISH PEOPLE, ie, hand crafted or cooked, using fresh ingredients, from scratch. I just had lunch here that was absolutely TERRIBLE. I'll explain. I went here earlier this week with my stepfather, as he was raving about the place. I got a hot roast beef sandwich with gravy, but was on a time crunch and had to get back ASAP. So I had to get it, take it to go and when I got to where I needed to be, had to practically inhale the thing. The sandwich did NOTHING for me, but I chalked it up to the circumstances surrounding my consumption that may have led to the less than stellar experience. SO, I decided to give this place a fair shake and go back when I had a little more time to devote to the experience. Well, I went there today for lunch and had an ABYSMAL turkey sandwich with a infuriating side of mac and cheese. AGAIN, I'm figuring "Amish Market" means that this stuff is going to be quality ingredients and slow cooked meats and what not. What I got was PROCESSED turkey slices and fucking stouffers mac and cheese. I threw over half of both in the trash. The turkey wasn't even like deli slices of breast meat. It was chunk, pressed and formed bullshit oscar myer type turkey slices. The mac and cheese was atrocious! They don't even make their own mac and cheese?! C'MON! I've had sandwiches 100 times better from WAWA. Ugh. I knew something was amiss when I noticed all the Amish using blenders and electronic credit card machines.......(seriously though....I'm still totally unclear on this facet; I thought eschewing all things modern and electronic was the Amish way? I'm so confused.) Just because some guy named Jebidiah is rocking a weird beard and some girl in a bonnet is making your sandwich doesn't mean your country market is an Amish one apparently. Its crazy because the place is usually pretty packed. (its also hella small, so that adds to it). Maybe....MAYBE I'll go back to try the hot options or the pies and cakes or something, but I will NOT be getting another sandwich here. Ugh. Severely disappointed.
google avatar

Eboni F.

Yelp
This review is based solely on the customer service since I wasn't even waited on. They were extremely rude at the turkey counter where there three teenage girls were "working." Apparently you need a ticket to be acknowledged or spoken to. So I go to the counter to place an order, but then realized that I needed a ticket. I go to grab one and the machine wasn't dispensing any. I stand, ok... literally within arms reach of the girls and two of them proceeded to look in my face and wipe the counter off and do various other things, except greet me or ask if I had a question or needed service. The smell of all the food was intoxocating and mouthwatering, but I don't care how it smells. Learn how to GREET/ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR CUSTOMERS!

Yelp
By far hands down the best Ribs in Northeast Philadelphia absolutely fresh from their farm right to your dinner table! I have been going to here for years, They just recently did a bunch of remodeling and it looks very welcoming! There are many sections that offer different varieties of food, they have their hot meat and poultry section a cold meat and poltry section, a cold deli/desert section and they even have a hot fresh station to warm your belly with that amazing roast beef on a kaiser roll with homemade gravy and horseradish they do accept debit/credit cards, there seems to be no minimum fee :) they do have unusual hours since they are Amish, so just make sure to check if they are open before you go there! There have been many times where I've got there and their hours have changed. So just be aware :)
google avatar

Caitlin C.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years for everything! What the offer: hot wings and other food to pick up, a full meat counter with freshly butchered meats, a huge variety of homemade drinks (milks, lemonade, tea), a deli with freshly sliced meats, and sandwiches made to order on fresh potato bread, fresh homemade dutchess pretzels, a huge variety of baked goods, fresh fruits, fresh veggies, homemade honey... I seriously could go on for ever! Go and try it yourself! My recommendations: freshly sliced turkey on a homemade potato roll, dutch pretzel, carrot cake, and a homemade lemonade to wash it down with. Enjoy

Yelp
I'm far from a farmer's market guru, I'm fairly new to them, but I kept hearing great things about this one, so I stopped by early one Saturday morning.. I have since been there two more times. On my 8am visit it was virtually empty and I really got to look around and get a lay of the land. It's fairly small, a few stations with cooked food / meats / baked goods / jellies, jams honey and such. Each have separate line and you pay separately, Cash or Card is accepted. The chicken wings, smoked and bbq are bomb. The raw meats are fresh. The bread pudding is freaking awesome too... Banana pudding is up there but not the best I've ever had. All in all its a good spot to come and get fresh meats, prepared foods and such.
google avatar

Zahkiyah A.

Yelp
My favorite place for wings! They are so good! The downfall is that they're only open Wed-Sat. So I have to wait until Wed for my smoked wings. The pretzels are delicious too! The staff are all friendly, the place is very clean and efficient. I'm usually in and out no matter how crowded they are.
google avatar

Rick H.

Yelp
I have been coming here for some time now as it's one of my lunch spots in the northeast. Most likely you'll need to take a number if your looking to get any of their hot foods. Their rotisserie chicken is awesome! You can get a whole or half chicken, which the pleasant Amish girl will gladly cut for you. They also have smoked wings and turkey legs that are really good as well. Their other big seller are their Ribs you can get full or half racks. Their dry rub are my favorite or you can try them lathered in BBQ sauce, either way you won't be disappointed. And as a side dish give the roasted carrots a try, they are so good!! I keep saying I'm going to come back and try their fresh meats ands homemade salads. So if your looking for a little Amish flavor no need to go to Lancaster it's right here in northeast Philly!
google avatar

Joe W.

Yelp
AWESOME!!! Great pretzels, sandwiches, rotisserie chicken, and desserts...you'll have a though time deciding what to get. Everything is so fresh...try the lemonade!
google avatar

Bruce W.

Yelp
It's been years since I've been here and recently while at GNC, next door, i decided to stop in. Although it's not very big there seemed to be a lot less vendors than in the past, I bought some ready to eat wings, baked goods and turkey products. The wings and baked goods were OK, nothing exceptional but nothing to complain about either. I did think the prices were on the high side, for example a small loaf of white bread was $3.75. Also, almost all of the young ladies who worked there looked like they were in forced labor, no smiles or eye contact. With the exception of the young lady at the baked goods counter the rest of them looked like they were miserable. You should all try smiling, things can't be that bad.
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
I cannot get enough of their sour cream and onion soft pretzels. They are the only items I have had from this place. Everything does look good, though. One of these days I'll get back there and do some real shoppin'!
google avatar

Gloria G.

Yelp
The best fresh meat in the area. I get delicious chicken, turkey, beef from them that I cook from for my infant, as well as the rest of the family. I consider their meats better quality that organic meat sold in stores, yet the prices are more reasonable. And the service is extremely nice and pleasant.
