I loved this place, but love the concept even more! All the food we tried was fabulous and a great start to day 2 of Railbird!

Google
We live pretty near this location, so we’ve been several times. We took my sister and parents in law there last time they were in town and everyone was very happy with their selections. We also like that they are giving people a second chance in life!!!

Relocated to Lex and am thrilled to enjoy this local gem for a quick lunch. Breakfast all day & lunch is served hot, fresh & with a smile. Today was my first visit & I had pimento chicken, sweet & spicy perfection. These employees are just amazing! Food is delicious! Come support DV8!

Google
This is a delicious little breakfast/brunch place that hit the spot whole on a Holiday road trip. Very friendly service and quality food at a very fair price. There seemed to be a lot of happy people in there, and for good reason.

Google
Everyone is kind, food was soooooooo delicious 🥹 the best brunch ever If you visit lexington, please go this place.

Google
A highly recommended spot with very welcoming and friendly staffs. Great food with good price. The interior design is lovely creating nice vibe there. We visited during winter so could not enjoy patio but I can image imagine how nice it would be during summer. It is very clean and well organized.

Google
DV8 is probably one of my favorite restaurants I’ve been to. Beautiful building full of custom made art on the walls and table slabs, kind and hardworking employees, delicious and affordable fresh food, calm and soothing atmosphere with moody lighting, large windows letting in natural light, great quality air from the variety of houseplants, large open floor plan with tall ceilings, inviting and friendly environment, clean, well-organized, and effective setup, and wonderful mission to provide jobs to and help support those in recovery from substance abuse! I got breakfast food and a cookie and the eggs must have come from a royal chicken because they were the best scrambled eggs I’ve had, no lie. 10/10 recommend. 11-19-22 (forgot to post)

Yelp
It's been awhile since I've been here . But today after running in the fourth of July race I was starving . When we got there three people were in front of us ordering so we didn't have a long wait. I got the orange marmalade chicken tender sandwich on a brioche bun with unsweetened iced tea. I've had this sandwich before and this time around it was as good as I remembered it to be . The marmalade is house made and they use thick pieces of orange in it so good! The brioche bun was soft and buttery as it should be. (I wanted a cinnamon roll but they were all sold out.) My friend got eggs, sausage, tater tots and sourdough toast with orange juice . The tots were golden& crispy (yes I finished the rest of them). She said everything she ate was so good as well. The sourdough toast (again I ate a small piece was really really good!). Everyone who works there is super friendly and honestly they couldn't be any nicer than they are. We decided to sit outside because it was kind of loud inside and it was pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Plus I'm pretty sure I was kind of stinky after having run that race. If you haven't gone here you definitely should you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
This visit was a solid 4, but this is definitely a great restaurant. My experience at the other location on a prior trip was just such a stand out. We ordered a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg and cheese on brioche), tater tots, a fried green tomato BLT and coffee. It was really good. You order at a counter and they bring out the food. They have a display case with their signature pastries, which has helpful to see and salivate a little. My daughter's breakfast sandwich was good. The egg was not quite fried, as ordered, and it dripped out and we had to do some clean up, but not a big deal. My sandwich was good and nice to try something different. It's just a tad heavy and rich. Tots were well seasoned and cooked nice and crisp. Restaurant was hopping. There is a parking lot, but it was full and I parked just a tad bit further away. Overall, really good. I prefer the other location and will keep trying menu items. DV8 will def be in our regular rotation during UK visits

Yelp
This location is very convenient and comfortable, I love that there's outdoor seating that doesn't feel like you're in a parking lot, and the food is consistently good. The best thing about it though is the staff. They are constantly kind, attentive, and always take time to talk with my kids and answer my son's endless questions when we come. I like the other location as well, but this one is my favorite. The Huevos Rancheros sandwich and Monte Cristo are my favorite menu items, but I haven't had anything that I thought was bad.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant and second chance positive concept. There are two locations in Lexington. They have great food, delicious coffee, and are known for their bakery. Definitely worth seeking out!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome awesome experience with delicious, fresh food and really kind customer service. The whole vibe of the place is hip and trendy. Love that they offer free wifi and have AMAZING cookies!

Yelp
This place is super simple but does it very well. Plus, they support a great cause. Win win! I ordered the Breakfast Plate. What can I say? It's just simple food done well. Bacon was crispy, biscuit fluffy and great with the apple butter. I ordered my eggs scrambled randomly. I usually get over medium. Anyways, I don't go here often but I need to start! Breakfast Plate 9/10 The atmosphere is chill and a great place for some quick food. I went at around 9:30am on Friday and it's was pretty empty. Highly recommend!

Yelp
"Life-changing food" is written on the shirts of all the staff here and it reflects the mission of the establishment to give a second chance for people are in substance use recovery. I do like the breakfast here. My favorite has to be the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a brioche bun. The sriracha ketchup is a nice twist on a classic breakfast item. The southern eggs Benedict is delicious as well. All beverages are all self-served. 3 kinds of coffee -- decaf, medium and dark roast and 2 types of syrup -- hazelnut and peppermint. DV8 (deviate) kitchen makes a quick stop for a lovely meal. 4.5 stars for the food. 5 stars for its mission.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best chicken biscuits I've ever had. We stumbled across this spot while getting coffee across the way and were so happy we stopped in. An absolute must try in Lexington if you're in search for some dank breakfast food + you get to support an amazing cause. 10/10!
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly service, clean space. Comfortable space to sit down and have lunch. Order at the counter and take a number. They deliver to your seat. Soda is a fountain soda self serve. The biscuits were really good. Not a huge fan of the Breakfast Reuben, seemed a little dry. Would definitely return though and try everything else.

Yelp
Fantastic business that's so worth supporting. First and best reason to go here is their missional effort. The service is wildly kind and helpful! The food is all fantastic--great pastries, I love the tater tots, the sandwiches, and the breakfast tacos. Sometimes the flavors aren't perfectly balanced, but overall everything is great and I never hesitate to recommend it. Super reasonably priced. Casual environment.
google avatar

Julie W.

Yelp
The format is the order-and-pay at counter setup. They bring the food to you when ready. They have a very healthy selection of sandwiches and each one sounded yummy. I decided on the grilled chicken and it was tasty. Serve was excellent and both inside and outside dining available.
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
Very good sandwiches on their fresh baked bread, rolls and buns. Good service, roughly $12 per sandwich. Parking on site. They have fresh loaves available for purchase.
google avatar

Bob S.

Yelp
Do you hear that? It's my taste buds jumping for joy! Wow, we just had an amazing brunch experience! We had the biscuits and gravy (perfectly executed). The Rueben "hash" which blew my mind!!! The General Tso's tacos, great juicy pieces of chicken and wonderfully balanced flavors. Finished with a chocolate croissant. The croissant itself was perfectly buttery and the chocolate wasn't overly sweet allowing for the flavor of the croissant to come through. The service was absolutely amazing!!! We can't wait to return and try some other menu items!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped in for a weekend breakfast and it did not disappoint. I got the dv ocho and he got a basic breakfast plate with eggs, sausage, and a biscuit. Both of us enjoyed our meals and for the price, it's hard to beat. The real star of the show though was the cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing. It was so light like a croissant and the icing wasn't too sweet. I'd go back just to try the other cinnamon rolls. Honorable mention to the honey butter that came with the biscuit. Great place with good prices and a welcoming vibe.

Yelp
Charles was fantastic both days we visited. On top of everything, personable & hospitable. Everyone that works here is efficient & always cleaning or doing something. U like many restaurants you go to nowadays. Ordered the same thing both days. Basil Avo Chicken on Homemade Seven Grain Wheat bread. Super good, but the were out of bread so I asked for a wrap. Charles said they didn't have wraps but could use a corn tortilla. Perfect both ways! Side of fresh fruit. One thing I love beside the freshly baked goods is how fresh the vegetables & fruit are. Nothing has comes out brown like the avo, lettuce is always crispy & bright. My bf always gets the Egg & Ham breakfast. The ham is very similar to Irish bacon which he loves. The sourdough bread is also a must! They sell the loaves for $5-6 & I'd say it's totally worth it along w/ their sweets. We love the Chocolate Croissant. Also check out their cinnamon rolls & specials written on the board.

Yelp
We LOVED this place on our recent trip to Lexington. So good we stopped in once for breakfast and a second time for lunch (and to work remotely for a few hours). The concept and vision behind this place is so cool and inspiring. I really didn't seek it out but it came up on a breakfast search and I'm so glad I got a chance to come in and support the business. This place gives second chances to recovering addicts when other places won't give them a shot. All the staff I encountered were nicer and more friendly/accommodating than staff at 5 star restaurants. It was a pleasure. Oh and the food was OUTSTANDING, which certainly didn't hurt. The eggs Benedict poached egg was one of the best poached eggs I've ever had, no lie. We also had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit which was great. For lunch, we had the baja fish tacos and tots. Tots were awesome and crispy. Fish tacos super tasty. And we also had the eggs benedict, again, because it was so good! Come for the support of a positive not for profit business, or come for the food. Either way you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
First off, love the mission and premise behind DV8! From their website: 'DV8 Kitchen was developed and operates as a second chance employment opportunity for people who are trying to redirect their lives. People in the early stages of substance abuse recovery often find it difficult to find employers willing to take a chance on them. ' The staff we encountered here on a busy Sunday was incredibly friendly, attentive, quick to make reservations and every single person there had a smile on their face. I'd visit again just for the quality of the service, but the food is also incredible! It's a fairly simply menu (breakfast, sandwiches, salads, tacos, etc), but there is a creative twist in everything and the food is fresh and delicious. Our younger kids loved the cinnamon rolls (one pictured), and the rest of our party enjoyed tacos, sandwiches and salad. The Chicken Salad Salad may be the best chicken salad in Lexington! This will be a normal place for us - both to support the mission and to enjoy an inexpensive yet quality weekend brunch or weekday lunch without the hassle of reservations or a $100+ tab. The indoor space is large and has lots of seating options, and kudos for the fresh tea (nothing worse than stale or day old iced tea!!). Pet note: The outdoor patio is dog friendly!

Yelp
One of the best breakfast/ brunch places in town. We ordered the best burger in town, with a side of tater tots. Chicken salad sandwich, and caramel pecan cinnamon roll. Not only was the food good but the service was amazing! Rates: Food- 7.8/10 Service- 10/10 Price to Quality- 8.4/10 Presentation & Atmosphere- 10/10 Overall- 9/10

Ddaugher ..

Yelp
Really a 4.5. food was fantastic and staff seemed to care about what they were doing. No cell phones on staff in sight, a rare thing these days.

Yelp
all of the employees here are so beyond kind, for all of the 5 times i have been here, i have had such a good experience with each group of people that was working! the interior of DV8 is adorable at both locations, and has lots of seating! each time that i have went, i have always ordered something different and have always been just as impressed with how good it tasted. it always smells like fresh baked goods when you walk in which is so lovely :)
google avatar

Emma G.

Yelp
Amazing food! Very fairly priced and you can tel everything is homemade. Love that reasoning behind the establishment and the staff was incredible nice, attentive, and seemed to really enjoy their job. A good casual spot to grab breakfast or lunch!
google avatar

Jill V.

Yelp
The French toast sticks are incredible! Crisp exterior and great taste (maybe a touch of citrus flavor?). Cinnamon roll was fine - they use croissant dough, however, and I definitely prefer a more traditional dough

Yelp
This new location for DV8 offers the same food and has the same underlying reason for existence as the Harrodsburg Rd location: namely American brunch fare served by people trying to get their life on track. Much of the restaurant industry is like this, of course; I've seen plenty of people in psychiatry wards who were working low end jobs at local eateries, but DV8 has made it their brand: a place where people who would otherwise struggle to find work can engage in customer service. One sees customers of all ages and all sorts here, and all are likely to be greeted frequently. What's notable about the new location is that they seem to be going much more for a meeting space, coffeehouse kind of vibe. It's a repurposed brick building (the entrance is off-street and you'll have to look for it) with a cavernous interior meant for people to sit a while. The old location is a perfectly fine generic strip mall location, but this one has more of a vibe. This is a developing area and other businesses are still moving in, but it seems like the idea is to make the area buzzy. From my perspective, the most notable menu items are their decadent cinnamon rolls, which cam be ordered drizzled with various toppings. The rotating flavor I ordered this time was a lemon blueberry, which delivered the taste and some sticky fingers. I got a salad to go as well. I'm happy to support the place, and I hope to drop in on occasion as more businesses open in the area. It looks like a good spot to sit and work, or sit and talk.

Chelsey A.

Yelp
The food is delicious! Love this local restaurant!!! The prices are great!! Service is great. Always happy to help. Can't say enough good things about this place! Their mission is amazing! Keep up the great work!
google avatar

Oliver J.

Yelp
Door dash, not eat in. Breakfast sandwich scrambled egg tasted a bit like a rear end. Biscuit and gravy was so good i almost slapped my dog. Edit: gravy = good. biscuit = should use butter not lard Why is this place so popular?
google avatar

Dee H.

Yelp
Posting a copycat review of the myriad others praising DV8 - fresh and yummy food, excellent service, and a worthy mission. It was my first time at this location and I like this space better - larger, brighter, and in a cool and upcoming building/neighborhood. Would love to see them expand the outdoor space but the inside os spacious and has a great vibe. Love the little couch/chill area that I forgot to document. Maybe I just wanted an excuse to go back soon?!?!?!
google avatar

J L K.

Yelp
Pros: Friendly staff Tomato basil soup was good Pimento cheese chicken sandwich good (sans molasses and jalapeños) Cons: asked for tomato on sandwich- did not get No crackers for soup - really? Offered to sell me a piece of bread. Say what? Sandwich came with nothing. No pickle, no handful of chips, nada. $8.95. Plastic utensils. You can't wash a spoon and help save the planet? Food tasted good but I can find food that good elsewhere at a better price. Sorry, won't be back. We tried.

Michael H.

Yelp
I went to the DV8 on Third Street expecting excellence but got poor performance. The only positive I could say is that it looked pretty clean. The help was unfriendly, service was not good, my partner ordered a burger which was fair and I ordered a soup that tasted like it came out of a can and was supposed to be a bowl but was only a cup full(charging 6 dollars). I was very disappointed and probably will not return.

Angela D.

Yelp
Best cinnamon roll and chicken salad I've ever had! Love their mission. Definitely check it out. I'll be back!
google avatar

Yelp
So good Even better than good Great! And I'm a Texan so I know breakfast tacos! Tota are great too!
google avatar

Heather F.

Yelp
If you are looking for a delicious breakfast sandwich, or a huge cinnamon roll that is gooey and sweet-this is your go to! We got the special orange creamsicle cinnamon roll and it was all it could be and more!
google avatar

Frank M.

Yelp
Friendly staff, great service (and food), excellent food. Every single staff member had a smile on their face!
google avatar

Tamika J.

Yelp
OMG!!!! This is my first time at this location and I'm pleasantly surprised. The artwork is imaginative and creative. The cashier was friendly and the food was great. I could stop there but allow me to elaborate. I don't eat pork so breakfast places are usually limited for me if I want more than chicken as a meat. I ordered turkey sausage and the portions are big enough for 2. The bakery is in store. You can actually see where they make your baked goods. I love the mission of the restaurant I love this place. My good was out promptly. Only bad thing is the tomato was watery and the juice touched other food. Still 5 stars because that did not take away from the overall enjoyment of my meal. This is really a place I would be proud to out of town guest as a great representation on Lexington food
google avatar

Valorie E.

Yelp
Great food and fun ambiance. Fast service and would highly recommend. You go up to the counter to order and they bring your food...so don't expect a true sit down experience.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
Food, people and atmosphere were top notch! Highly recommend the breakfast Rueben, eggs Benedict and the CINNAMON ROLLS!!!!
google avatar

Teagan H.

Yelp
I like this newer location! It's smaller and not as overly crowded as the Broadways location. Closer to a coffee shop feel. Same great menu. When I went a few months ago I got a breakfast dish, Cinnamin roll, and coffee. Was all very good
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Crème brûlée croissant..yes please!! It's incredible! Everything I ordered was fabulous!! Their baked goods will have you craving for more! Loved that burger and those tots. My guests were so happy with their orders too. It's definitely a popular spot. Clean and the staff were so friendly!
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try DV8 for quite some time and it definitely did not disappoint. I tried the orange marmalade chicken sandwich and let me tell you, it was EVERYTHING! The orange marmalade is so delicious. I highly recommend trying this. I also tried the biscuit and gravy. It too was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try other menu items! This is located conveniently near downtown and has plenty of parking. There's a Manchester coffee, nail shoppe and other businesses nearby as well.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Great food, great service, and similar like mindedness. Love the fact that they give second chances and in return it betters our community.
google avatar

Suk P.

Yelp
So good that we came here for breakfast 2 days in a row. I had the chicken sandwich on sourdough the first time and then the chicken sandwich on biscuit. The benny was also excellent. A large and clean establishment with friendly staff.
google avatar

Jeffrey G.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Love their story and their food. Granted, I've only been here once, but the staff was very friendly and the food was great. I had the best burger in town and it was nothing short of delicious. Along with that, I got tater tots which were also delicious. I love the ambience inside. It was a large space and they also have a few tables for seating outside. I will definitely be coming back the next time I get a chance.
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
Wonderful food and very friendly service. You order at the counter (plenty of menus available and specials of the day are on a chalkboard). If you're unsure of what to get the staff is very helpful. Highly recommend the breakfast reuben and the cinnamon rolls!!

Yelp
First time here, I've wanted to try out the new location in East End. Overall, I was pleased to learn about the overall mission of second chances. Exterior & interior are eclectic & interesting, especially in this area that's been improved. Liked the open concept. Everyone was nice & helpful. I ordered breakfast meal. Originally wanted bacon but when I asked if bacon was thick the staff informed me it wasn't. Went with turkey sausage instead with fried egg & Havarti cheese on top, & a biscuit. My husband wanted the bacon cheeseburger with an egg. Food didn't take long, I liked that they use paper products, but I understood why the wait wasn't long when I saw my plate. First off the biscuit was not hot at all, room temperature at bare minimum. My egg was a traditional fried egg but folded like an omelet missing my requested cheese. Turkey sausages were disappointing they looked like frozen patties from a bag & were also lukewarm. Egg was the only thing hot & freshly prepared. I returned to front for my cheese and staff offered to make another meal but I declined and just requested the cheese. I'm not hard to please, REALLY. I should have asked for a warm biscuit but I didn't want to create a hassle. Hubby gave the burger a 5 on a scale of 1-10. No sides come with it. He was disappointed that the bacon was chewy & not crisp. He liked that his patty didn't seem frozen but needed some seasonings. He also wanted other condiment choices (Honey Mustard or BBQ Sauce). There's plenty of hot sauces available though. I also tried cold brew. I liked milk alternatives & syrup flavors offered. Would I return? I will for the bakery items that looked appealing and I saw another customer's salad that looked tasty. Just about my breakfast choice. I really feel it's the easiest to prepare & present. Since it's offered all day it needs to be worth offering all day.

Yelp
Absolutely loved The MET for breakfast on the DV8 Kitchen patio! The original DV8 on Broadway is awesome of course, but 10/10 would recommend the new location! A phenomenal addition to the East End. All the same great eats and good service, but with sprawling indoor and outdoor spaces and some really nice indoor touches, like the tables that highlight different service organizations (Isaiah House jumped out at me because I'm from Danville). A definite 'don't miss.'
google avatar

April B.

Yelp
I just had the best strawberry salad ever! The strawberries were so fresh they popped in each bite!!! I can't wait to try this cinnamon roll later. Thanks DV8
google avatar

Melanie S.

Yelp
Amazing food!! Fabulous staff!! Superb atmosphere!! Highly recommend dining here, I had the steak and egg in a chickpea wrap!! Yummy!
google avatar

Libby R.

Yelp
Their cinnamon rolls are out of this world! Had the pumpkin spice cinnamon roll and it was a meal! Service was outstanding, fast and friendly. Great vibe inside with a cool playlist. Coffee bar was fully stocked with special offerings like pumpkin spice syrup. Also tried the chicken salad sandwich, highly recommend it too. The sourdough bread was clearly homemade and yum. They know what they're doing here and nothing was missed. Great experience and highly recommended.
google avatar

Amaris B.

Yelp
I ordered breakfast via DoorDash: cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing, biscuits and gravy, French toast sticks, and turkey sausage. The biscuits were soft and tasted homemade. The French toast sticks were crunchy and soooo good! They also catered an event my job had recently and we were really impressed with their presentation and price. I'm a social worker, so I also love the backstory and the heart of this restaurant too

Emma N.

Yelp
Best of everything, especially breakfast and pastries. First time hear and I can't wait to return!!

Ron D.

Yelp
Good food and coffee. Service was quick and courteous. Atmosphere is pleasing and they keep the tables very clean.
