How to Eat and Drink Your Way Through Eastern Market

"This self-pour taproom and bistro is situated next to Dyno Detroit Climbing and features 21 drafts on on tap that are prominently displayed on a wall. Visitors can create their own beer flights to get a sampling of the spot’s brews. Nosh on Roman-style pizza, sandwiches, and shareable appetizers, or stop by after the gym and grab a smoothie." - Serena Maria Daniels

I took my son rock climbing for the first time and it was such a great experience. We were treated by Dino as soon as we walked in and he helped us through the process the whole time we were there. This was a first for both me and my son and Dino made us feel very comfortable and even helped us. But push ourselves to new heights. I can honestly say this experience was more than expected and we will definitely be returning. We also got to meet Pig (the dog). I 100% recommend this place. It was clean and everyone was present and helpful.

We had an amazing time at Dyno Detroit! The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and made sure everyone felt safe throughout our visit. They took the time to explain everything clearly, which made the experience even better. Our group had a blast trying out the different climbing routes, and we can’t wait to come back for another adventure. Highly recommend this gym for climbers of all levels!

The staff are very attentive, friendly, helpful, professional. They looked after me and made sure I knew what I was doing. They were very patient teaching me how to safely use the gear and climb. I had a blast for hours. I also liked the Yoga classes. Very positive and fun environment.

First time trying DYNO Detroit and really enjoyed it! The front desk staff were very helpful and kind. Easy to complete the waiver and other paperwork beforehand on your phone or the option to complete there quickly. Clean bathrooms and locker room area. Will definitely be back!

We had a great time here with family in town. The owner Dino and his staff are very safety focused and encouraging. The auto-belay system makes it so a lot of active climbing can happen without someone being belay certified on the ground while a climber is on the wall. This group of cousins are tween/teen aged kids and sometimes it’s hard to find an activity that all will enjoy- they asked to go back making a second visit in a week! Highly recommended!

Wish we had something like this closer to home but this facility was amazing! We visited for my husband's birthday. We had never been climbing before but they made it easy. The staff were helpful and guided us on climbs. They offer classes to advance your climbing. The facility also offers bolder however we found climbing more exciting. We loved that they offered a variety of complexities based on skill level. It was fun to try and challenge ourselves! We absolutely will be back at some point.

Google
Dyno is hands down the best climbing gym around! I climb here 3-4 days a week, and it never gets old. From top-notch equipment to a spotless facility, everything is always on point. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help. What truly sets Dyno apart, though, is the amazing community – everyone is welcoming and contributes to such a positive atmosphere. By far, my favorite climbing spot!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I both have a membership here, it's inclusive, clean, and the staff is incredible. All the staff are friendly, they learn your names, and make you feel welcome. The setters are great at their job but definitely sandbag their own work so if you're expecting to come in and flash a climb in your grade think twice haha. (I could also just suck) All of their boulders have exact grades which is refreshing and way nicer than a tape scale. The rope climbing is also fantastic with options for auto belay, top rope and lead. Member benefits are great and include a full gym, free classes, and discounts on retail items. I can't recommend dyno Detroit enough and nothing can be compared to it so far.

Yelp
Actually I accidentally found this place thinking it's something else. Since I'm a mother of enthusiastic rock-climber son, I was very impressed with this place in Detroit. New and clean facility with free parking in Detroit! The instructor explained all about rock climbing challenges. I have never done it but I am a fit and flexible athlete, so I'm sure I can somewhat handle it even though. I will definitely think about going back to try this!

Yelp
I'd never gone climbing before, but my friend has a membership here and any of her guest's first time day pass is free, so I just had to rent shoes and a harness. I thought I'd do it as a one time thing for the experience since it was free, but I had so much fun that I went again and plan to more! The day pass is $20 and renting shoes and a harness is $8, so not bad at all. The staff are so friendly and really informative, I felt very secure and confident climbing, despite my slight fear of heights. Everyone is super respectful and takes turns accordingly, even when it's super busy. Very chill environment. The auto-belays are great and there's a good variety of climbs for all levels :)

Yelp
Been here almost 2 years now. Love it. Small workout room upstairs. They also also various yoga classes at different levels and yogis are very good and will help you!

Yelp
Best place to have an activity date with you loved ones, And lose some extra inches hahaha. But one thing that they should be improving on is the automatic one coz they only have 5 automatics and others are just bullocks

Yelp
New and friendly staff. Bathrooms and changing area were clean. Cafe under construction. As a first time climber the staff helped with equipment and safety training. Appreciate the thorough reminders to double check equipment and remember to be safe. The walls range from beginner to advanced/expert. Also, the grips get changed on an ongoing basis to ensure variety. They have automatic belays. It is mind blowing to jump midair off a wall to have a machine lower you to the ground. Went as a solo activity, but seems like it would be fun to climb with a friend or a group of friends.

Yelp
A really great facility to spend a day at! I've been rock climbing for years and this place is great! Staff is very informative and friendly. They focus on safety and awareness when climbing. I really enjoyed my experience here. The only issue I would bring up is the fact that they don't have enough automatic belays, if a person wants to do solo climbing they can only do like 5 ropes if they want to go solo. Besides that it was great, they offer certifications and classes. The day pass was $20 with rentals for $8, it was a fair price for an entire day. I'll be back!

Yelp
Cool purple environment with beautiful overhangs and a super nice staff. A good place to skill up.

Yelp
Loved climbing here! I was visiting from California for the holidays and wanted to take my sister and cousin (first time climbers) climbing. I always get nervous going to a new gym, but we were immediately welcomed and told how to fill out the forms and all that. The orientation was quick and easy. They made sure we were comfortable with the facilities before letting us loose on our own, which helped my sister and cousin feel less nervous. They even have provided belay devices on each route, which is very helpful! They also have auto belays which is a lot of fun, especially in my case where I was the only one who knew how to belay. The staff was very friendly and did a wonderful job at creating an environment that is both comfortable and fun. Could not recommend this gym enough! I look forward to going back on my next trip to Michigan!
