We came here for our last night in Vilnius with kind of high expectations for a restaurant with a Michelin star.
💶 €120 per person for tasting menu
🍽️ Food:
We enjoyed almost everything! The appetizers were very interesting and I was impressed with the depth of flavour and finesse - the crusts of the tartlets were super thin but held their shape. The flavours also changed as you continued to chew.
The dishes that didn’t hit the mark as much for us were the appetizer with eel/beef tartare (the cheese overpowered everything and I couldn’t taste the eel much) and the lamb (the shiitake mushroom on top saved the day for this and was the true star).
The ice cream dessert was delicious and a good palette cleanser. The petit fours were good but nothing spectacular, kind of expected more for this part.
🤵 Service:
When we first came in, there wasn’t anyone already at the door and it wasn’t 100% clear if we were expected to walk in to find someone. The seats also had crumbs from the people before us. Apart from that start, we thought the service onwards was good… until near the end.
When I went to the washroom, they saw me go in and a minute after I went inside, the light suddenly turned off - I waited a couple of minutes to see if it’d turn back on because I couldn’t see a thing. I eventually just tried my best and flushed the toilet, when I came out, the girl was already looking at me like she already knew I was in there, started apologizing and turned the light back on. Why would you leave the light off if you knew I was in there? And why would you even turn it off when the restaurant was still open?
After we finished the dessert, our server disappeared. After 20min we flagged down another server for the bill.
These are things that can be frustrating in a random, cheaper restaurant but it was quite disappointing for one with a Michelin star and a minimum €120 price tag per person for the tasting menu.
