The 38 Best Restaurants in New Delhi, India | Eater

"Price Range: $$ For fear of tourists overwhelming Dzukou, an incredibly popular mid-range restaurant that used to be centrally located, it usually gets left out of the best-of lists. Dzoukou has moved to Delhi’s far South, though, and gotten even better. The casual, comfortable spot serves traditional food from Nagaland, which was once kept at the periphery of the local restaurant scene but now at its center as Naga chefs cook with foraged and well-sourced ingredients from their lush, hill-clad state in Northeast India. Must-try dish: The shredded pork and the chicken stew with green onions and fresh ginger. And always order black rice." - Sharanya Deepak

I am new to the north eastern kitchen so will not comment on the authenticity of the recipes. The taste was unusual but good. The place itself was boring, dull and unwelcoming. The staff did not help at all to select from the menu.

The food was super salty, had to add water to reduce the saltiness. The service was overall not good, the receptionist seemed quite in hurry when taking orders. The food was quite expensive considering the quality of the food. I have been to many NE restaurants here in Delhi comparatively quite high in terms of pricing. Overall, not coming back again.

The pork with black sesame was awesome. But for a single person it was costly compared to other northeast restaurants.

Being a Naga living abroad, I was craving for authentic Naga food and I came across this restaurant and ordered fresh pork with bamboo shoot and rosep Aon through Zomato and it was the worst!! Very very DISAPPOINTING ! The food didn’t taste authentic at all! Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone!

TL;DR - food was great, if you have the chance to go, go! This restaurant was a great spot for a late night dinner. The unique flavors allowed to to learn more about Nagaland which served us well in the rest of our travels around India. Budget a little more time eating here than some other places as the food takes a bit but trust that it’s worth it - the black sesame smoked pork was out of this world and not to be missed. The green tea was stellar too. Giving this a 4 star instead of 5 just because it was not overly clean, but overall the food was delicious and well-prepared.

As one of the oldest Naga restaurants in Delhi, Dzukou stands out for its commitment to quality and authenticity. The food here is organic, flavorful, and true to its roots. Every dish is carefully prepared, capturing the essence of tribal cooking with bold flavors and indigenous ingredients sourced directly from Nagaland. I absolutely love their spread of rich, authentic Naga food—every visit is a delight, especially with the beautiful music playing in the background!

I had heard a lot about this place from fellow foodies and was able to finally visit after years. Loved the food itself, the menu and it's authenticity. I loved the freshness of the ingredients too. I have reduced one star simply because there is room for improvement in areas like cleanliness, service and time management - the food was all good

I ordered it online — the pork was overcooked and delivered in a jelly-like form. During my last visit to the restaurant, the staff at the counter were very unwelcoming and acted unprofessionally. I’ve been a loyal customer to this restaurant, but unfortunately, the standards have been gradually falling, and I’m now considering switching to a different place."
