"Owned and operated by Wael Herbawi with his brother since 2005, this tiny Cleveland corner deli has been overwhelmed after a 15-second TikTok clip—featuring family friend Tanisha Godfrey calling the chicken salad “superior”—went viral and was later reused by big creators, bringing millions of views and customers from across the country. The breakout item is a grilled-chicken spring-mix salad (lettuce, spinach, kale) with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, shredded mozzarella and cheddar, croutons, banana peppers and jalapeños, finished with a secret family sauce (olive oil, lemon juice and a Palestinian Arabic spice taught to his mother). 2024 Update. A hidden gem. Try the tik tok chicken salad. The cost is $15, and worth every bit of it. I guarantee it's more than just a meal. Everyone I know either shares it, or has it for multiple meals because of it's hefty. People travel from far distances to witness. Their salad is not just best in Cleveland, or in Ohio; 81st street deli salad is the Best in the Midwest.

As a native Clevelander who loves all things food, I knew I needed to try the chicken salad. I got it with everything and chose their homemade house dressing. I was impressed with how much they loaded into this salad. It was absolutely delicious! For those wondering if it's worth a drive from other states, that depends on how much you love chicken salads in general. If you are local, this is absolutely a must-try! As for the store itself, it has all the essentials of a standard convenience store. The owners are super chill though! Support a small business and shop local!

I read reviews praising the Tik Tok salad and ordered it. My salad had what looked like ground up chicken with at had a rank odor. Looked like dog or cat food and was totally inedible. Tried calling the restaurant to complain but couldn’t speak to a person. Goes directly to voice mail. Requested a refund from door dash. I was not going to pay for garbage, because that’s where it ended up. The salad I received looked NOTHING like the photos in the reviews.

I've been going here since I was little pops used to smile and tell me go grab some free chips for working with grand pa all day. No cap, all the brothers are cool. I love the new store set up. I still miss the old building a little, tho. Do gotta get the veggie salads.
