"A fire tore through a medical office and this Marine Park sushi restaurant before 6:30 a.m. this morning; E Sushi serves an all-you-can-eat sushi menu as well as a la carte items. A firefighter was treated on the scene but no other injuries have been reported, and a call to the restaurant went unanswered." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya

Dinner took long and no other customers where there finally they bring 1dinner (bento ) ok then a chicken rice bowl I ordered a beef bowl now waiting for that the rice bowl is hudge enough for 2-3 people very lil meat not very tender over priced for what we received, panda is a better option.

Google
I have been coming to the sushi spot for years and this has always been my secret place that I share with clients and good friends anytime we're looking for a special treat. Most of the inventory is flown in from Japan and all of the chefs are trained and very friendly. I've met with the owner John and he is the best host and restaurant owner any customer could ask for. He is very friendly, he remembers who you are and he treats you like family. I would come back for the quality of service alone. The sushi is fresh and all of the rolls are expertly crafted. We come here for the high quality sashimi, the presentation and flavor

Google
First time here since new ownership. Was able to get a table fairly quick, took awhile before we were approached for drink order and was able to squeeze in a couple appetizers. The restaurant was full so it took a while to get the appetizers and order the rest of the food. Twice they brought items to the table that were not ordered, so lucky we had a photo of our order so were able to make sure we got the correct order. The sushi was alright, not the best or the worst that I’ve had so left pleased and would return to try other items on the menu. I think next time I’ll sit at the bar and see if the service is any different.

Google
Great place in Whittier, one of the best spots for sushi I've had. Chef was kind and eager to have you taste his craft, gave great recommendations. Would definitely come back. Pictured are toro sushu, Jennifer Special, Soju Roll, Lupe roll, and sliced albacore.

Mirtha H.

Google
We enjoyed the food, service was fairly quick and good flavor. The Thomas Roll was very tasty but smaller than I expected, and at $21 per bottle we found the Nigori was the most expensive we have ever paid in the area

Monique

Google
This place is always busy, but it's such a chill and welcoming place. The food is great. The pic below is I think the hungry roll, but I'm not 100%positive. However the food is absolutely delicious and it's always consistent. I've gone to other sushi places which the food had been made inconsistently. The prices here are decent too and a great place for date night.

Ray O.

Google
A better sushi, better sashimi. Spot on for some good raw fish and rolls. This place is the best in town, no doubt. Had their special for a special occasion and guests absolutely delighted. Totally worth it, and was honestly surprised to find good quality sushi in Whittier!

Google
First time visitor to this spot. Small and cozy interior with tables and sushi bar. Great menu with colorful pictures that has a lot of sushi choices and udon and rolls that have other meats for those that may not be a fan of fish. Seriously some of the best sashimi I've ever had. This is my first time visiting and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
What can I say! Love this place, it is always busy so call ahead Best sushi in town Highly recommend everything on the menu It gets packed so it is noisy Overall it's one of my favorite places.

Yelp
What can I say more than Amazing Sushi!! John, the owner, used to be Sushi chef at another place we went to years ago and we followed him to his new business here. The place is so charming and low key, great for a date night or day date! The servers and always on point and nice, they go above and beyond to help you out. Our kids love to eat here, no sushi yet but they love the teriyaki chicken and sometimes the capri sun (when the manager has them). All around a great place and out go to spot for delicious sushi. I highly recommend the Albacore Sushi!

Yelp
E Sushi is my go to whenever I am craving it. The sushi here is to die for! The food is always fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The rolls are creative without being over the top, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. I especially love their specialty rolls they strike the perfect balance of texture and taste. The service is just as impressive as the food. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. Whether dining in or ordering takeout, everything is consistent and on point. The atmosphere is small and cozy perfect for a casual meal or a nice night out. Prices are very fair for the quality you get, and the portions are generous.
google avatar

Terry T.

Yelp
Outstanding food great service been going there for years. Amy is the best. Their prices are fair

Alex J.

Yelp
I'm so bummed I didn't take pictures of the sushi that my friend and I got. This is one of my all time favorite sushi place! The service is always so great - they always ask if we needed anything else and did so with a smile. The sushi chefs welcome you joyfully as you walk into the restaurant and it has the homey sushi place feel.

Yelp
My family and I had dinner here in a Saturday night. Thank goodness one of our friend's made reservations as this place gets very crowded and we were a party of seven. The restaurant is small but very cozy and full of positive vibes. You can feel the energy in the room. Management and the entire staff were extremely welcoming and soooo nice. We ordered numerous items from the menu and EVERYTHING was fresh, tasty and well prepared. Prices were a tad on the higher end but we had no regrets whatsoever on choosing this place and/or what we ordered. Parking can be challenging as the restaurant is located in a small stroll small with a bar, Mexican restaurant and three or four or businesses sharing the small parking lot. This small strip mall is located behind a Arco gas station off of very busy Whittier blvd. This was definitely a positive dining experience especially having dinner surrounded by very close and amazing friends.

Yelp
ESushi has been my go to place for so many years. I have traveled around the world and tasted the best fish... this place will always surpass expectations. Food is amazing, fresh and delicious. Amy, John and Ray thank you for always making my experience here top tier! I have recommended this place to many people over the years and it never lets me down! Kudos E Sushi! Love you guys

Yelp
Sat at the bar for an early solo dinner and the experience, service and food was top notch!! Super fast delivery of food, great quality of food and delicious food. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
We came to E Sushi with a party of 5 on a Saturday at 7:30 PM and were able to be seated promptly. The staff were very attentive to us and were very nice and helpful. - - Spicy Garlic Edamame (5/5): A great appetizer to start with. It was flavorful and had a little bit a spice to it, but not too much, which was perfect in my opinion. - - Rick Special (5/5): Delicious!! The soft shell crab was amazing and I found myself savoring every bite that I took. Definitely a must have when placing your order. - - Diamond Special (5/5): So yummy. The melt in your mouth king salmon + the crunch of the shrimp tempura + the kick of the spicy tuna. All of it pulled together really nicely. - - Thomas Special (4.5): This one was good but not memorable. There was nothing that really made it stand out compared to other sushi rolls that I've tried before. But, there was also nothing bad about it and the roll still tasted good. It's still a solid choice if you're thinking about ordering it. - - Kobe Beef Roll (5/5): If I could give a rating higher than 5/5, I would. This roll in particular is unique and I know it might sound weird to have a sliver of Kobe Beef on a sushi roll, but it was delicious and the smokey flavor of the beef added a nice change to our palate. By far my favorite roll here. We had to place an additional order of this roll because we could not get enough of it. 100% a MUST TRY! - - Salmon Sashimi (5/5): The fish was really fresh and tasty. I'm sure my party ordered more rolls but I couldn't remember which they were. But all in all, the fish here is super fresh and delicious. The rolls are very unique and flavorful, especially the Kobe Beef Roll! The staff were all friendly and helpful when we had questions about their menu options. My experience was a 10/10 and I would definitely come back again in the future.

Dulce R.

Yelp
I ordered 3 things and all 3 were very disappointing. Not to mention, expensive! 1. Mixed tempura 2. Bento Box 3. Sashimi Will not go back, even if it's 2 minutes from my house.
google avatar

Monica R.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I had been to E sushi. Came here on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. We sat at the bar which was great because we got fast service. The salmon sushi pieces were huge and the fish tasted fresh. The scallos were also very tender, sweet and had great flavor. The salmon skin handroll was not the best. It was way too crunchy and it tasted sweet like there was eel sauce added to it. The servers were great and all really helpful. It was pretty loud in there, but the ambience was pretty chill.
google avatar

Yelp
Food best ever sushi Service is better than first class Ambience happy friendly Highly recommend
google avatar

Haili A.

Yelp
Another amazing hidden gem in Whittier, shoutout to my partner for finding this spot! The wait was relatively long on a Friday night, but totally worth it! We order 3 rolls and two hand rolls and one sashimi. Everything was absolutely delicious. We usually prefer sashimi but this place will definitely be our go to when craving rolls! Service was great as well.
google avatar

Janae M.

Yelp
Great sushi spot! I have lived so close to this restaurant for most of my life and I can't believe that I waited so long to try it. They are open late on the weekends and they don't rush you out if you come in near closing time. The sushi is awesome! So fresh and so tasty. The Toro Tataki is my favorite but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The space is small but they do have both tables and a sushi bar.
google avatar

Andy V.

Yelp
Love this local sushi place, never too busy and the food comes out quick and it's so good. Haven't had a roll here I didn't like. A good regular spot for sure!

Robert S.

Yelp
Great Sushi Spot! The sushi was fresh and tasty, with great flavor and quality. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. It's a small place, but very clean and comfortable. My wife and I will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Cynthia L.

Yelp
I sat at the sushi bar and started with miso soup, which came out piping hot and was absolutely delicious--perfect for a rainy day. I then ordered the Andy Special, Rainbow Roll, Jalapeño Yellowtail Sashimi, and Red Snapper Sashimi, all of which were fantastic! As a surprise, the sushi chef also served us albacore sashimi on the house. I didn't expect it, but I'm so glad I got to try another dish. I highly recommend this spot!
google avatar

Shelly H.

Yelp
We love this place. It's is our favorite sushi place. The owners and staff are amazing. We always sit at the bar in front of Ray. The food is always delicious and super fresh. We highly recommend this sushi spot for any occasion.

Julian S.

Yelp
I've come to this place quite a bit. The sushi's good and reliable service is good too. I don't usually scrutinize the bill, but last time I went something stood out. I was picking up take out and last minute decided to add a coke. The waiter tells me that would be 4 dollars. For a regular 12 oz can of coke. Not a glass bottle not imported just a basic can. I guess I never noticed since it was always part of a bigger order. That's ridiculous. That can of coke maybe cost the business 60 cents. MAYBE. That is a mark up of over 500%. And thinking back even when you dine in they bring you a can with a cup on the side. No fountain drinks, no refills. It's basically their way of saying "NO REFILLS" It rubbed me the wrong way. I don't mind paying for good food and service, but stuff like this feels greedy. Makes you wonder what else they're quietly overcharging for. Won't be coming back. Small thing, yes, but it says a lot.
google avatar

Adan M.

Yelp
We saw the great reviews and decided to try this place for a pickup order. The quality of fish is arguably the best I've had and the combination of flavors each roll has was so satisfying. We ordered the Kala Special Roll, Spicy Crunch Albacore Roll, Hector Roll and Alex Roll. The wife and I looked at each other after a few bites and immediately thought the same thing, how good these rolls were. The food was ready in 15 minutes and we had no issues waiting. We didn't experience the full ambiance of dining in but it seemed like a great place to eat. Next time we will dine in and update the review.

Yelp
I came back for a second time while I was in town visiting from Arizona. I remembered my experience was magical the first time and my second time did not disappoint. The sashimi was so fresh and I absolutely loved the blue fin tuna. The edamame was a great tasting starter dish and the lobster roll was better than most sushi places I've had. It was nice to see the familiar faces of the owners, John and Amy. I can tell that they are inviting as they build and cherish the relationships with their customers. While I was dining, I noticed that they personally greeted a lot of the customers and knew the names of all their regulars. It felt like this little gem isn't just a restaurant, but a home away from a home. Highly recommend for anyone in the area craving sashimi.

Jerry T.

Yelp
Thought I'd give it another shot, unfortunately huge disappointment with the sushi & pricing. We got the "Sergio" and 2 other weird names. It's very dry. Sushi should not taste like that. The fish itself is ok. We walked out paying $70 for 3 rolls..... I have no idea why this place has 4 stars.

Rebeca N.

Yelp
My favorite place! A hidden gem! My favorite is the Andy special and Jeremy special! The gyozas both veggie and pork are delicious! The customer service is always top notch! I love the ambiance it is amazing!!! I have invited all those I know to come try it for themselves! :,)
google avatar

Amy C.

Yelp
I ended up here after Blue Fin up the street decided to tell customers they were closing early. Walked in and the restaurant was empty, but they still stayed open during posted hours and that was much appreciated. We were happily greeted when walked in and we were able to choose any table we liked. We ordered: cucumber salad, yellow tail sashimi & and bento box with teriyaki steak, CA roll, tempura, rice, soup & salad. Everything tasted fresh. The tempura was a little greasy for me, but the teriyaki steak was very good. Good food, good service, will be back.

Yelp
It's a smaller place but packs a big punch with delicious sushi,, endless alcohol, top notch customer service. The ambiance was great! We sat at the bar and started with the fresh oyster appetizer. The oysters come prepared in a soy sauce with other toppings and spices. Our next dish was the Toro Tataki Sashimi. This was my favorite dish of the night. I shouldve ordered 2 more plates. Its blue fin tuna in a special sauce topped with Jalapenos. Its not spicy, just packed with flavors that will make your taste buds very happy. Then we ordered the Sergio roll. If you love spicy, this is for you. It is delicious and it has a kick. If this isnt spicy enough they have one thats spicier which I believe is the Alex. Next we tried the Joe Joe roll, this was a tasty tuna roll with shrimp Tempura a milder flavor compared to the Sergio roll but still very tasty. The gentleman sitting next to me suggested a salmon skin hand roll and the Parker roll. The salmon skin hand roll reminded me of a chicharon. It was delicious but had a hint of sweetness to it which I don't prefer. The last roll was the Parker roll. I don't like Eel but I thought what the heck I'll try it! I was NOT a fan. No Eell for me thank you. Overall the sushi here is one of the tastiest and freshest I've had. I'll be back often! Xo

Yelp
Don't be fooled with all the positive reviews. This placed has really changed. The prices at this sushi restaurant are not the ones you see on the menu online. Bait and switch. Prices are outrageous. All the sushi is $7.95 per pair. The quality is sub par. We ordered 3 rolls and 2 beers and the fee was $79 + tip. This is not a joke. We are not alone. As we looked at the bar and tables, nobody ordered any sushi, just rolls. That should tell management somethinig, but they are clueless. The rolls we ordered had no flavor, one of the rolls was oily, another was just mush (fake crab w/mayo). You get better rolls at Smart and Final. The quality and prices are simply outrageous. This is not a sushi bar, it's below supermakert sushi. We will never come back. Ever.

Eugene Anthony D.

Yelp
If you're looking for the best sushi spot in LA come check out E-Sushi!!! Every time I walk in here I'm always greeted with genuine smiles and offer me my usual seat at the bar. The place is small but always full of life. The waitresses Nia, Aislinn and Krystin are always friendly, inviting and quick to serve. Chef Ray makes the best sushi you'll ever have, super fresh and full of flavor and he's also very entertaining to watch make his rolls. A must visit if you're a sushi lover
google avatar

Erik F.

Yelp
Everything was spectacular. These chefs pay attention to their craft. The sushi is fresh and the rice perfectly cooked. I will come here forever 10/10 BEST SUSHI IN WHITTIER
google avatar

Johnny M.

Yelp
Food: Spicy Tuna Handroll, Joe Joe Special, E-Sushi Special, Edamame We finally made it to E-Sushi, a spot that we always see when we go to the restaurants around it. We came around 9pm and there was only one other table occupied which allowed us to receive a lot of attention from the sushi chef behind the counter. We were quickly seated and we fired away our order. The Spicy Tuna Handroll's... delicious. Maybe in the top 5 Spicy Tuna Handrolls I've ever had. Everything else was good, had good flavor, tasted like it was good quality, it was just a little over sauced for my opinion. When looking at the menu, many of the rolls seemed a little repetitive, just with one or two different ingredients in them. Service / Restaurant: There is plenty of parking available if you come later in the afternoon. During the day time / early afternoon it gets packed with restaurants and gym that share the same plaza. Inside the restaurant it looks the same it probably did when they opened back in the day. The old school vibe of it adds to the charm and creates and intimate feeling. The chef behind the counter gave us a complimentary plate of albacore which was delicious. Notes: Prices are $1 to $3 more expensive than other local sushi spots. Just be aware of this as it does add up over time.

Yelp
Esushi has been in Whittier forever and the quality has never gone down. Plenty of servers. Fast chefs and real good food. Always clean too.

Yelp
Great food, excellent service. These owners really care about their customers! I have been here 100 plus times and never had a bad experience.

Yelp
Food was ok, everything on the menu is spicy. The sake and drinks are way overpriced. Not impressed compared to to the other nearby sushi places

Yelp
My go to for sushi..ALWYAS!!No matter how long I haven't visited, Amy and her staff are always welcoming and makes you feel like family! Very sttentive and friendly ataff. Sashimi is always FRESH FRESH! Never disappointed!

Jesus R.

Yelp
Food is phenomenal, that cilantro bowl. The service is tops. It's a little on the pricier side but with the quality and taste you can ignore the price.

Yelp
I had went on Valentine's Day to pick up sushi for my wife. Unfortunately I think my order May have gotten lost in the shuffle and asked for a refund after a significant amount of time. This is somewhat understandable for such a busy day. But the way the manager Amy took care of the situation was really professional and refreshing. I'll definitely keep coming here because she handled it so well. And of course the food was delicious!

Yelp
4.9!!! Um hello?! How did I barley find out about this Whittier gem? My boyfriend and I arrived around 7:20PM on a Friday, we were greeted and was asked for my number to be notified as there was about a 20 minute wait. I was called and was told to come in approximately 20 minutes later. Staff is very attentive and helpful to one another and customers; a friendly and caring bunch. We ordered: - Louis: Not overwhelmed with sauces which a lot of Japanese restaurants tend to do. Order it if you enjoy some spicy kick. - Sweet Shrimp: I got more than what I expected. I placed 1 order but ended up with 2 sweet shrimps and shrimp heads on a plate. The shrimp was fresh, citrusy, and soft. 10/10. - Teriyaki Chicken: I originally asked the server if they had karaage chicken. I was told yes so proceeded to order. When the order came out and was given a teriyaki bowl, I asked about what I originally ordered but was told they didn't have it. There was miscommunication and one of the servers tried to fix the error, however, I didn't mind what was placed in front of me because it was probably one of the best teriyaki bowls I've eaten. Simple, but the sauce was perfectly sweet and savory. - Salmon Skin Salad: Delicious. - Miso Soup: Yum. Some places just can't get miso soup right but E Sushi got it. Make sure to come to E Sushi for your next sushi craving. It's a quaint, comfortable and VERY welcoming restaurant.

Ruth K.

Yelp
Food is consistently delicious. It's always a special treat to come here. It's one of those places locals come to get authentic, delicious sushi. Service is fast, courteous, attentive. Amy, the owner is a delight.

Yelp
So, I was super hungry this one late night. This place opens to 10:00 p.m., which is fabulous in my book. Not many sushi joints open till 10:00 pm during the week nights. I ordered the premium sushi flight and the Armando roll. Both dishes were delicious. The fish was very fresh. You can tell that a sushi place is good when you walk in and it's filled with people to the brim. I seated myself at the sushi counter area. Just when I sat down, the frequenters were already recommending the specials of the day. They were raving about the premium sushi flights and the abundance of premium rolls. I was so excited! I will definitely be coming back and bringing some friends to try some other dishes. I'm so happy that I found a new go-to sushi place that opens late. Everything on the menu looks amazing! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Woohoo!

Yelp
This place has great sushi and beer and sake, prices are reasonable and the ambiance is good. As for the service is also great all the host are very friendly.

Roxanne C.

Yelp
Their food is always delicious. The owners and the service are always so nice. And the ambience is just perfect.

Veronica M.

Yelp
Food and service are always great!! We love Amy's hospitality. This is our to go spot whenever we want sushi !!

Greg T.

Yelp
PROS: the sushi is fresh CONS: the menu is geared toward the sushi specials which are all basically the same with a few minor variations. Not impressed with the ambiance. Loud RADIO music has to go. $2/cup of tea. TIP: parking lot is easier to access from Scott Ave vs. Whittier Blvd
google avatar

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
I want to say this is the worst place I ever try I got a bento box and choose the salmon not sure what they drenched in some kind sauce it was nasty. The rice was hard the tempura had no flavor I can taste the oil . And the California rolls where not tight enough and no flavor . The salad was awful. I want say only miso had flavor. This place it's expensive and didn't meet y expectations. Ralph's sushi taste better then this.
google avatar

Alfonso G.

Yelp
Food is always great. John is fantastic. If you come here, definitely get the albacore sashimi.
