All felt like doing was drink a cold one. My daughter found this brewery that got the bill - an intimate setting. We were greeted with smiles and good cheers. Ordered clean crisp beer, amber beer, cider and water. Had an interesting and delicious take on nachos & salad. Our choice of white sauce pizzas - truffle & white trash (bacon on the side with ranch) Cheers to new friends and a great find. We’re hitting this joint up again.

Google
Awesome little place with great brews, delicious pizza, and a really nice welcoming vibe. Their Spicy Calabrian paired well with the Rowdy & Dick. Will definitely be back! Came back a 2nd time and ordered the Rowdy & Dick again and the Mash Tun pizza (which was a meat lovers dream and excellent). The folks here are really nice and very knowledgeable about beer. Received a crash course in sour brews, which I had never appreciated before.

E9 Brewing Co. & Taproom is an absolute gem and a must-visit! The atmosphere is perfect for relaxing with friends, offering spacious tables that make it easy to enjoy great food and drinks. Their beer and cider selection is exceptional, with a variety of cold, crisp, and perfectly crafted options. The beer flights are a standout—generously poured and served in an array of charming, photo-worthy glasses. The food is just as impressive. The seasonally inspired small plates are creative and delicious, but the pizza truly stole the show. The pepperoni cups, in particular, are a game-changer—flavorful, crispy, and unlike anything you’ll find at other local/nearby breweries. One of the things I appreciated most was the laid-back vibe. Unlike other spots where you feel rushed to order or eat quickly, E9 Brewing Co. lets you savor your experience at your own pace. Whether you’re a beer aficionado or just looking for a fantastic place to unwind, this taproom is a winner!

I was a regular here and I have to say, I love E9. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming. The beers and food are always a hit. Honestly this is my favorite pizza spot in all of Tacoma. I haven’t had the opportunity to go to their other location, but the brewery always feels like home. I even hosted a surprise birthday party here once and they were so gracious and accommodating. I had to drop the cake off early to gather all the decor and other supplies, and they let me store the cake in their fridge since I was trying to do all the prep solo. They let my friends and teammates come in early to help set up and decorate. I no longer live in Tacoma, but on one of my last days there, the staff made me feel very appreciated and cared for. If I ever have the chance to go back, I will definitely have to stop in and say hello. I truly miss going there on weeknights. Cheers!

Google
Excellent customer service. Arrived got the radiator pizza with the Tacoma brew and a Mexican Coca-Cola. Everything was delicious would highly recommend passing by. Would be nice for some fans outside, but the food is just perfect.

Google
Absolute gem of a place for pizza and beer in Tacoma. The staff are super, the patio is dog friendly, and the pizza is creative.

Google
Great personalized customer service. Welcoming and helpful staff. The beer and pizza are always stellar here. The interior is cozy with great views of the brewery space. Definitely one of the best breweries in Tacoma in my opinion.

Google
Every one of their beers that I've tried has been delicious, but don't get attached - most are only brewed in limited runs. They do great IPAs and Saison style beers. Every time I go past this place, it's packed, so I figured I'd check out the food. The pizza had great crust and unique toppings. Definitely recommended.

Yelp
We just met friends here and had a wonderful time! The food & drinks were great and all of the friendly doggies were just amazing. We shared a pickle plate, Brussels sprouts, a Spicy Calabrian and a Radiator. The pickly things were juicy, fresh and had lots of interesting flavor. The carrot hummus was a little bit lost among all of the juicy tang but the bite I found with a corner of the fluffy bread was delicious. The Brussels sprouts salad weighed about 5 pounds and was a savory pile of tiny sprouts fired in the pizza oven, piled on creamy burrata and topped with oodles of sweet hot chilies. The Radiator was my favorite of the two pizzas we tried. You just don't see 'roni cups often around here and paired perfectly with the toothsome, perfectly charred crust and the hot honey drizzle. The Spicy Calabrian was a close second though with creamy ricotta and spicy Italian sausage. The cider on tap was a highly unique and delicious peach hot honey that went superbly with the pizzas. If you like beer, dogs, pizza and nice people, stop on by.

Yelp
Advice : Don't bring a date. Bring someone you KNOW you love. Like your dog! Or your sibling or parent or cousin. Just one! Have a nice meal and a couple of drinks together. Yes even the dog. The folks who work here make it feel like coming home. It's our Happy Place. It can be yours, too.

Yelp
Pizza was really good, the pepperoni cups crisp to perfection. Two individuals working were attentive and helped us out with our order. The beer was good, super solid selection and the vibes were nice. Dog friendly and pretty a cool view if you sit outside.
google avatar

Jeremy C.

Yelp
What a great brewery. Great food, great service and great drinks. This is a rare brewery that can offer food, drinks and allow dogs which I really appreciated. Their beer selection is both expensive and high quality. And their food is well above average. The pizza was amazing, but the broccolini appetizer was even better. The only weird thing is that you have to get a table before ordering food, but since it was just me and my dog I couldn't easily 'reserve' a table without leaving it to order the food - especially on a crowded Saturday night. It's too bad they don't offer a QR code option to order, but overall this didn't impact my great experience here.

Yelp
i live walking distance from this restaurant and i was curious to see what it was about, The food was sooo delicious we for "The radiator" pizza and i was blown away by the flavor!!! truly a unique taste. The man who serviced us was so helpful when it came to explaining the brews and types of ciders they had and let us taste a sample of their cider i ended up getting a glass and loved it !! The place itself is relaxed and a place for an intimate quick dinner or a night with friends. We sat outside and even tho it was rainy and chilly we sat next to a heater and couldn't even tell!! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Greeted with a very warm welcome. I ordered the Margarita Pizza and the Fuzzy Claus beer. Both were excellent choices! Seating is varied. You can sit inside the bar room or out in the brewing area. This place is dog friendly as there were a couple well behaved dogs that customers brought in. I'd recommend this place! Only about a 10 min walk from the Hilton Garden Inn.
google avatar

Yelp
Always a good time here. Great wood fired pizza on the patio and a great selection of drafts and bottles in the tap house. From saisons, to ipas. You can find some very interesting beers here. One of my top 3 breweries in Tacoma!

Yelp
Super cool little spot in Tacoma! Easy to find, easy street parking, nice little tucked away area. Lots of seating and outdoor seating also, all with heat lamps. Sean and Fuzz were working when we went last night and they were some of the nicest, most knowledgeable guys about what they do. Got 4 pizzas (the mash tun , the one with no name and the radiator) all great! The Brussels sprouts are a MUST. I am already craving them. Just another S/O to the guys working, they were so nice and really made our first time being there great.
google avatar

Yelp
I got the special pizza is a must try staff is friendly if you're are not shure they'll recommend something

Yelp
Went here with friends who live in Tacoma. Loved it so much we brought more friends when we were driving through. This visit we got the truffle hustle which was tasty with big pieces of mushroom and a good truffle taste. We also got the radiator pizza and the honey was a perfect balance of sweetness to the flavorful pepperoni. They always have a good selection of beers and offered us tasters.
google avatar

Yelp
Great beer, AWESOME pizzas. I totally recommend the mushroom & prosciutto. Mouth watering savory deliciousness
google avatar

Karissa M.

Yelp
The pizza that has no name is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this one. Order first and they come to your table. They have a large variety of seltzers, beers, etc. You can sit right where their brewery is with all the machinery, so that's neat. I'll certainly be returning for this pie.
google avatar

Yelp
This review is for the pizza! Wow. I'm a die hard Salamone's fan and a lover of Bar Rosa but this may be my new fave in Tacoma. My only issue was they no longer offer takeout online or over the phone. This resulted in me waiting an hour for my pie. Thankfully I like beer so I had one while I waited but oof! This was a chunk of time I was not planning for. The bartender was so nice and very helpful. I ordered the Mash Tun pizza and OMG! It was delicious. I was sad my wife ate my leftovers I will def come in on "off" Hours not a Saturday night prime time if I want a pizza from now on.
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
Cute place I liked that you are able to get half pours of their beer. I had one of their ipas that was good. Extensive pizza menu as well. Pizza was legit covered in pepperoni. It was a little greasy.

Yelp
A group of 4 stopped into E9 for slurps and lunch after playing in the area. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Table service is not offered; orders are placed and paid for at the counter. E9 is dog friendly. E9 offers indoor and outdoor seating. There are propane heaters outdoors to help keep the chill at bay. For those who do not like beer, canned ciders and wine can be purchased. Bottled and canned E9 beer can be purchased to enjoy at a later date. A limited amount of swag can also be purchased. During our visit we had a couple slurps and a canned hard seltzer. We ordered the Upper White Trash Pizza for $18 and the Pizza That Has No Name for $18. I substituted the bacon for artichokes on the Pizza That Has No Name and was still charged a $1 for the substitution which I found irritating. I requested the bacon on the side since I was paying for it. We were asked during our ordering if we would like any ranch dipping sauce for our pizza so we said yes. Of course there was a $0.50 charge for each ranch cup, which should have been stated up front. Overall, E9 has fun and tasty pizza. I wasn't a fan of their beer. Staff was unfriendly.

Yelp
Raspberry sour flavored drink. Got the half pour. Prices pretty good, can't complain. Recommended from other nearby breweries. Was decent. Ended up getting a pepperoni pizza. Love the thinner crust but on the greasier side. It's a smaller place with limited seating. The swag runs on the fitted side, so ended up getting a t shirt.

Yelp
Customer service is absolutely A1. Pizza is unique and top tier. I love that they're absolutely dog friendly and allowed us to switch tables when we got uncomfortable at the barrel seating. Ambiance is very relaxing and fun. It's hard not to have a good time here!
google avatar

Yelp
3 1/2 out of 5. Not a bad choice if you like good beer and decent pizza. The consensus for favorite beer at our table was the Petite Belle. We had three different pies... the No Name, the Radiator, and the Spicy Calabrian. All were thin crust (not my crust of choice) and were more on the foo-foo side of the spectrum. I'm more of a traditionalist and shy away from toppings like candied walnuts, lavender infused Calabrian chili, or basil pesto. The radiator was my favorite and, along with the beer, helped salvage the 3 rating. Pizza is a personal preference type thing, and I prefer a more traditional approach. The other 5 at our table were more than happy with the pizza. Unless your dog is thirsty, there are better pies available in Tacoma.
google avatar

Jim K.

Yelp
we drive from Auburn just to go to this brewery and it's fine beers and pizzas. Pizzas start at around $18 and stay under $30. Crusts are super thin and there's also some flop with the slices. My favorite was the Radiator pepperoni pizza. I like the simple set up and the outdoor seating is nice even on cold windy nights. Recommended.

Yelp
Looking for local craft beer and great pizza? Then head over to the E9 brewery & taproom located at the corner of Fawcett & S. 25th St., just up the hill from the Tacoma Dome. We stopped in on a Friday and found seating inside that could accommodate all six of us. They did a great job designing the taproom with views of the stainless steel tanks and kettles in the brewhouse. Recommendations: 1) If you like pepperoni, try the Radiator Pizza. It has red sauce with loads of pepperoni cups, mozzarella, parmesan, and chili flakes. 2) If you like Pale Ales, try their Don of Time, with Amarillo, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops.

Yelp
AHHHHmazing! Friendly staff, dog friendly, great drinks and bomb food!! This place is a gem.

Yelp
First time going to the E9 location on Fawcett Street and was pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was great, since you had a couple of locations to sit such as on the heated patio, inside the brewery area or in the taproom. It was a Saturday night so the place was busy but still plenty of room to find a spot to sit. We ordered at the bar and grabbed 2 beers (IPA) and The Radiator pizza to share. The pizza was fantastic and was a new take on classic pepperoni. The pizza came with a large amount of small pepperoni rounds and and a lavender chili honey drizzled over the top. The hint of heat and sweetness mixed with the pepperoni was over the top goodness! The only item that I would add to the menu is a green salad, since I love a salad with pizza. The staff were super friendly and seemed to enjoy working there.

Yelp
We've been coming here for years. Amazing pizza, love the Rick's truffle shuffle it's our favorite, but we miss the mortadella. It's really neat to sit in the brewery. They have an outside area, but we found it to be loud. The bathrooms are always in great shape. The service is always friendly, and they allow well behaved dogs. I'm personally a huge fan of their Kölsch.
google avatar

Kristi S.

Yelp
Stopped in for a bite to eat and the convenience from the I5. Super welcoming atmosphere and staff! Loved the beers and pizza choices were definitely unique, but delish!!! Dog friendly, as well.
google avatar

Katey O.

Yelp
One of the best pizza spots in Tacoma. I love that they have weekly specials and try to get something new each time - but honestly the Radiator, Upper White Trash, and Mash Tun are my favorite.

Tim B.

Yelp
I would give six stars if possible. If the amazingly interesting pizzas aren't captivating the warm Brussels sprout salad is unlike anything on the planet. The brews, the staff, the food, and the ability to bring our dog makes this place a constant go to for us.
google avatar

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. 1 There beer is killer. 2 the staff is awesome. 3. they partner with Holy mountain in seattle to do some killer collabs. I honestly cannot speak high enough of this place. I visited their restaurant before the brewery and it was not what we were expecting but the food and beer were good. Now that there is a more brewery focused location I love it. Like I said its amazing beer and it may actually be my favorite Tacoma spot. The outside area is awesome. As a person who lives in the pacific northwest nothing is nicer than having a solid patio during the times when the sun is out. They have great games and a great atmosphere. I cant wait until after the covid and fires so we can go back and hang there. Grab some beers, try their pizza, and hang out!!
google avatar

George C.

Yelp
E9 is dog friendly year round and has a great patio space. Where else can you get that in the winter in Tacoma?? I first went for the beers, but damn their pizza is good. It's not served every day so look out for that. It's a great thin crispy crust, and they clearly use quality toppings. This is definitely my go to takeout spot for pizza. Now back to the beer - their flagship black helmet IPA is solid, but the real magic is in their experimental stuff. I thought I wasn't a fan of sours, but their Meraki series has changed my mind. Lastly, they do tap takeovers and I've been able to try quite a few good brews from around Washington that I would not typically be able to get to. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
Oh my the pizza is to die for. I often visit the places the local papers say is the best pizza but this place, is the best! Creative, flavorful and quite entertaining. The pizzas are about 14" wide but I would think you could finish one yourself because it's really that good. I very much enjoyed The Heidelberg and the only sad part about it was, that I showed restraint by not eating more than 4 pieces. The ending walnut crunch was stupendous and surprising. So tasty. But better yet was the Brussels Sprout Salad. Easily the most unique Brussels sprout dish I have ever had! Nothing like a salad at all. And arguably the best thing I've eaten in quite a long time. I've been thinking about how I can recreate it. Honestly I'm planning my next couple weeks to make sure I can go into Tacoma again soon and stop at E9 for this "salad." The beer is great too but the show stopper is definitely the pizza and brussel sprouts. I'm telling you, make sure you visit this place at least once this year.

Yelp
Good menu & food, quality service, great ambiance. Tacoma classic for the whole family
google avatar

Yelp
Literally my favorite pepperoni pizza in Tacoma. Perfect crust, quality ingredients and great people! I'd love to see some craft root beers for the sober crowd
google avatar

Yelp
Some of the best fruited sour wild ales I've ever had. If you like Floodlands, Grimm, Holy Mountain, etc. this is a must try. Lovely space with food truck, apparel, outdoor space and plenty of beer to bring home. Convenient 4 ounce pours to sample your face off. I sit here sobering up on water after over "sampling" before I drive. Try: Last truck to Clarksville - Montmorency & Bing cherries from local Diamondback Acres blended in wild ale gives this a bright fruity nose with a cherry tart kick. Syrupy mouthfeel with a slightly funky finish. Tayberry Farmhouse - whatever a Tayberry is, it's delicious. Like a watermelon jolly rancher with cranberry finish. Ultra smooth finish with subtle tartness. Sweet. Pogo stick mosaic IPA - mosaic is one of the easiest to drink hops. Smooth refreshing and floral. Now take that and add mango and peach and it's a damn fruit cocktail. If you don't like fruity or sweet beer, pass on this one.

Anita L.

Yelp
This is a great place to catch up with friends and eat some bomb pizza with a cold brew. I don't drink beer much, but the wine they had was delicious even though it came from a can lol. This review is really for the PIZZA. Wood fire baked pizza are to die for here, never was a fan of thin crust before today. The pizzas all have fun name and some seem quirky but they taste absolutely divine. I ordered the Heidelberg pizza, there is an explosion of flavors from the mushrooms and pesto! Snag a seat and order at the counter. There is indoor and outdoor seating (covered, with heat lamps). PUP friendly for all us dog parents out there.
google avatar

Leah P.

Yelp
Great friendly environment with rotating beers and amazing pizza. Friendly conversation with the bartender.
google avatar

Joseph A.

Yelp
This is one of the two best pizzas in Tacoma in my opinion. A different special every week and they are always creative and amazing. I have tried three pies on the menu and every one of them was among the best I ever had. The service is always friendly and I usually do take out since I live close. Seriously, you need to try it. It's worth it.
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
As many of the other reviewers have mentioned, do not let the outside of the bar fool you, it's a lot bigger in the inside than you would expect. I got the Spectral Vision, which had a nice hoppy taste but a smooth finish. This particular bars claim to fame is being the first brewery in the city of Tacoma. The bar is very bright and filled with light, which is both a pro and a con. Reason being is the area is easily maneuverable however it feels like it's bright morning which may be difficult when navigating from a dark environment into a light one and vice versa. However, an added bonus is the doggie with an America bandanna that wanders around (and likes to eat his/hers stash of cookies from the cookie jar), so that in itself is a major plus. A very nice and relaxed environment, a lot of locals in the bar, with their own brewery enclosed in glass around the bar itself. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a local bar flair.
google avatar

Cynthia F.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a tartufo pizza. E9 has a slammin tartufo pizza! at those beauties! (Reference pizza photos). I'm not a beer expert...all I can say, the beer wasn't bad. E9 making your pizza mark in Tacoma. Welcome!
google avatar

Austin P.

Yelp
Good drinks. (The ginger lime hard seltzer was very refreshing!) Great pizza (even the vegan one!). Awesome dog-friendly patio. Would return!
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
Dude this pie is amazing! Loved it here. Make sure to grab the "Matter of Seconds" beer.

Hillary S.

Yelp
There wasn't an ability to leave 10 stars, so i'll settle with 5. I have ALWAYS loved this place but today takes the absolute cake. I got to E9 right when it opened today so I could grab a good spot in front of the projector to watch the Mariners playoff game. Grabbed my beer from Todd and got all situated front and center. The projector was a bit pixilated on the screen so it was a little hard to focus on what we were seeing. Todd pulled out all the stops to make sure there was a resolution. I'm not kidding...he took out a 40 foot latter and climbed up to the projector to make sure the lense didn't have dust on it. After about 20 min of trying any and everything that would help, HE DID IT!! I can now watch my Mariners get this win and move on to the stupid Astros in the playoffs all because he kept trying until he found a solution. I FREAKIN' LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Thanks, Todd and go Mariners!!!
google avatar

Kera N.

Yelp
I love a cozy spot with counter service. This place has indoor and enclosed-ish outdoor space where dogs are welcomed. (and a love a good dog friendly place). It's very casual. The pizza was tasty and had a thinner crust, which means you can eat more. One pizza was good for 2 people.

Yelp
A brand-spanking-new addition to the beer scene here, in the form of an expansion by Tacoma's granddaddy of craft breweries. They get a ton of capacity to brew, and the perfect amount of capacity for people to come drink. This whole corner of downtown has gone from a crime zone decades ago to a bunch of empty buildings more recently to new construction and cool reclaimed spaces today. The brewing industry is good at turning old warehouses and power stations and other architectural oddities into thriving hangouts, and this is just the latest example. There's only so much parking around here, but inside there's a clean, bright, brand-new taproom with plenty of tables and barstools. On the other side of pretty floor-to-ceiling glass walls is a big warehouse space full of barrels, a cold room, and lots of shiny steel tanks and vessels where the suds grow. There is a flat screen tuned to the game over there, and a bar space with about 15 taps, some bottles, and a couple wines and hard seltzers. They have food, and the pizza certainly smells incredible. The staff are youngish and super friendly, helpful, and well-informed about the lineup of beers. They're great. Prices are very fair here, and if you didn't know, the beers at E9 are exceptional. Tons of great sours and explosively flavorful IPAs, plus plenty of other styles. They're internationally recognized for great beer, and we're lucky to have them.

Hannah S.

Yelp
I was on the hunt for a spot that was dog friendly AND had great food. Oddly hard to come by in Tacoma. There were a few options but E9 stood out to me. Pizza was super good! Everyone was more than welcoming of dogs.
google avatar

Jay C.

Yelp
I chose to hit up this brewery yesterday to watch the Seahawks game for a few reasons. I'm a huge craft beer enthusiast and I also follow this brewery on ig. I've also tried a couple of E9's beers at Teku Tavern in Seattle and I absolutely loved their ipa's. When I arrived I was really surprised that it wasn't very busy. I didn't mind it because I was able to get a great seat to watch the game. For my beer I chose to try the Pogo Stick Mosaic IPA and it was really good. Then I went on to order one of their pizza's from the list. I decided to go with "La Margarita" ($15) made with No cook red sauce, jalapeño gouda, cilantro, romano dusting. Pizza was really good I just wished that it was bigger Lol. Perhaps I was super hungry. This brewery is definitely worth checking out!

Alisha K.

Yelp
So happy to have E9 in our area! This location is great for getting drinks and food. I don't like beer, but have successfully found a few that I can enjoy from E9. I have only sat outside, but they have two indoor seating spaces that are for larger groups. Each time I've been it has been pretty busy, but I always have been able to get a spot without having to stand around and wait. If you're like me, I always like food with my alcohol, and E9 as a few choices: charcuterie and pizza. The charcuterie platter is DIY, which just meant we had to cut the meat and cheese. Don't know about you, but that didn't bother me. I've also had a pizza there. I'd consider it a thin crust, which always have the potential of getting burnt/crispy. Ours was perfect though! Nice. Bonus: sometimes there are cute dogs there.

Keith S.

Yelp
Came here after hearing great things about their pizza and brews. Was not disappointed at all! Me and my SO ended up ordering The Radiator pizza and loved it. It had this lavender oil glaze that we were concerned about at first but ended up loving the taste of it on the pizza. It doesn't really have a lavender taste and ends up complimenting the pepperonis very well. Also tried a couple beers while we were there and enjoyed those as well. Highly recommend the Bing Cherry wild ale.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
This is probably the best new brewery in Tacoma. The beers here are outstanding. Lots of variety from Belgian styles to sours to IPAs everything is excellent. They have some food on the menu, more appetizer style but it sounds like they're trying to add more. The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable about beer. It's a great stop, I would highly recommend trying a beer here.

Yelp
One of my favorite hangout spots on a weekend day when I want to go sit and have a beer by myself. Usually get a pizza to go, which are also delicious. Maddy is always a gem, as well as (I think his name is) Todd. They're both always really welcoming. Great merch, great beer & a decent amount of seating (indoor as well as covered outdoor (with heaters for the PNW weather) Overall; one of my top 3 Tacoma spots.
google avatar

Erin H.

Yelp
Maddie was an awesome server! So sweet and knowledgable. The pizza was delicious (great crust) and love the beer!
