Surprised how good the beef noodle soup is for a fast casual place. Beef is tender and plentiful. Soup has lots of flavor. There’s no ambiance to speak of—order from a kiosk and food comes out on a tray, paper bowl—-but I would totally come back for this noodle soup!

Glad to see this dumpling shop reopen with an expanded menu. Minimalist service, computer cashiers, but I appreciate the efficiency. The beef noodle soup was solid and competent, something hard to find in the upper west side. The pot sticker dumplings I got that day were disappointing, maybe they were too frozen, but the wrapping was soggy and the filling was just ok, what you might get frozen from the grocery store. Still a welcome addition. Lots of great looking authentic Chinese cold apps that also are a nice addition to the neighborhood.

This was the best restaurant I've been to in the neighborhood hands down. EVERYTHING was amazing. The garlic soy sauce should be bottled and sold!! Sadly there's permanently closed sign on the door 😥. I wonder what happened because it just opened up.

Get the beef noodle soup! I selected the braised option. It’s delicious!

Food is okay, I heard good reviews so was pretty excited to come but higher the expectations, the more disappointment you have. Beef noodle soup: soup base is good, beef is fine but the noodle is under cook, and why there’s carrots? This is not the Taiwanese way. Potstickers: should be their signature but it just okay / average. Tofu noodles salad: pre cook, pre packed, must been sitting in the fridge for an all time. Hard and dry, barely celery and carrots inside. The music in the store was way too loud and the staffs are signing and dancing in the kitchen?! No thanks.

Google
Sooooo good, I'm seriously obsessed! I have been back 3 days in a row for the pork soup dumplings! I can't get enough. This place is clean, fast and appropriately priced. I hope they are here a long time!

I ordered the spicy pork wontons. They were the perfect combo of spicy, flavorful and fresh! By far my new favorite on the UWS!

Yelp
It's meh. We live nearby, are Taiwanese/Chinese, and were satisfied with our order. 6 potstickers for $8, steamed and grilled to order with an authentic thin and springy skin, caramelized crust, and a seasoned pork filling. The space is small but efficient. Order takeout at a kiosk, eat at one of the two chairs if you'd like.

Yelp
This is a relatively new store that serves dumplings, noodles, and other Chinese dishes in a fast casual setting. There is limited seating inside (there's 3 tables and maybe seating for 6 people). You order via a kiosk at the front and then your order is freshly made. I tried their soup dumplings and they were fresh and overall pretty good. The skin wasn't too thin nor too thick and the filling was well seasoned but not overly so. Prices are reasonable. The only complaint I have is that the sauces are lacking. I really would have liked just a plain black vinegar for the sauce, but their dumpling sauce has a strong Worcestershire sauce flavor.

Yelp
Saw this open not too long ago and wanted to try it out. I think it's definitely a good value. We got the curry pot stickers, pork dumplings, pork soup dumplings, cucumbers, and hot and sour soup. I definitely thought it was all good! For two people it was a lot a food and probably won't get as much next time but definitely glad I tried a bit of everything. The service was good as well. We ordered from a kiosk and got our food at a reasonable time. The food came out at different times but it was understandable since we got a bit of food. It's a small a hole in the wall place so not tons of seating but we were able to sit and eat our meal. I definitely will come back whenever I'm craving dumplings.

Yelp
Sigh. I wanted to like this place. I am giving it a generous 3 stars. The cook was really nice. As far as the storefront goes, it's small. There's 3 tables. Just like the store, the 6 soup dumplings were also very small. I would say about the size of a golf ball. The dough was thick. Not much soup inside. They're kinda pricey too for what you get. I would give 2 stars, but they're new so I am hoping things improve as a local.... Especially when HMart is opening right across the street.

Yelp
Recently opened dumpling store across from Hmart and we tried their food. The bite-size dumplings were very tasty and priced very reasonably around the west side. The hot and sour soup has a real kick (spicy). We also got a side of the tofu skin, which I forgot to take a photo of, but I really loved it! There were a few sauces available to choose from. The staff recommended the garlic sauce, which was good, but I preferred the black vinegar. Really enjoyed the meal! Would try the potstickers and the beef noodle soup thenext time and would go back for those soup dumplings!

Yelp
I really want EA Dumpling to succeed. I'm such a huge fan of Taiwanese and Shanghai food and I've been to all the best places. We need more good places locally. Anyway, I've had EA's pork soup dumplings (at this new location) three times so and their spicy wonton once by accident (because they gave me the wrong order) and once because I had to order them the next day e since they were amazing the first time. They just need some peanut sauce and chili oil but the quality of the wontons is excellent. I chatted with the workers about obtaining chili oil (one worker actually sat down at my table for a friendly chat the first time I was there) but I was told that Taiwanese food is not served with chili oil. The last time I went, I immediately noticed that the soup dumplings were greatly reduced in size. They are now extremely small and my photo below does not capture how small these dumplings are even with the quarter placed in the photo for scale. But Milo C's review below, from May 22, 2024, was not exaggerating and, as mentioned, there's barely one drop of soup in them. No exaggeration and it's not because they burst open. They did not break. Unfortunately, I definitely saw them remove the dumplings from a freezer bag in the back to reveal that the dumplings were frozen and definitely not made fresh. They are similar to the Trade Joe's chicken soup dumplings which are somehow better than these EA Dumplings bc they at least have some soup inside. I never thought I'd say this. EA Dumpling initially had a steady stream of business soon after they opened (I was so excited to see this), but every time I pass by lately (multiple times per day often during dinner time) NO ONE IS EVER THERE and the workers are all sitting around. The workers are the absolutest sweetest and the place has so much potential but if they don't improve I'm afraid they won't last because $7.95 for 6 very small dumplings with no soup is too expensive. So what I fear is they will lose business and the food quality/quantity will continue decreasing, thereby further decreasing business until they are forced to close. I wish they could increase the quality and take the hit for a while such that they will regain the customers. It's a huge risk during such a difficult time but I just see the beginning of a vicious cycle here and it's just unfortunate. To further complicate things, EA Dumpling has been very recently covered in that nasty NYC scaffolding that will probably be there for 5 years. That's often the kiss of death. I was hoping HMart would bring EA Dumpling more business but I'm not afraid, at this point, that folks will just fulfill their craving at HMart (especially once their hot food section opens) instead of crossing over to EA Dumpling. Still, if they were good, I can see customers dropping by after HMart to pick up some appetizers. Anyway, I encourage everyone to give EA Dumpling UWS a chance. There is potential here and they are so nice. Maybe if there's a boost to business, they will increase the size of the dumplings again and offer more specials

Yelp
Over priced and soggy. There are a few other places on Broadway which are more competitive. Service was not great, and it didn't feel clean in there

Yelp
Best takeout food ever! I order takeout almost every evening and I can honestly rate this as the best.

Yelp
EA Dumpling....what a dump! Food is very dry and very expensive. There are several other dumpling places in the area; why would anyone choose this one? Service was unnecessarily bad, and the place looks dirty. You are better off going across the street to H Mart, the Korean market that just opened, and choosing from a vast array of yummy foods; just buy the dumplings there and take them home!

Eva K.

Yelp
Great dumpling. Order in advance it's fresh so it takes time. Great service always has a smile to welcome you.

Yelp
Very tasty dumplings and soup. Quick and easy. We've eaten there three times in the past few weeks and have enjoyed all our meals.
