Cool little place.... we got to taste a few different cheeses, got a discount for buying a few different ones and she was super friendly! They have a window to watch make cheese, but they weren’t making any today. Down side: it smelled really really bad in there (not just cheese but like cat pee) after all the talking and tasting to figure out what we wanted... no cards excepted! Cash or Check only wth? They need a sign that says cash or checks only.

Shelley, who tends ripening cheeses in their cave while not taking care of the retail shop, treated us to several samples of Eagle Mountain's cheese selections. I chose their Granbury Vintage gouda-style cheese to buy; it has a great flavor and perfect texture for snacking or melting in a sandwich. There's not a lot going on in Lipan, but this place is worth the drive.

Waste of a 45-minute trip! We were so excited too....Shop is closed and looks like it's been closed for several years now. Owner needs to remove their store from Google maps.

My friends and I headed to Lipan for National Cheese day and we were definitely not disappointed. The employee (Matt?) told us all about cheese and let my foster kids taste all the cheeses they wanted. Because we have such a diverse family we normally shy away from small town places but this was an amazing experience and the cheese was great. We enjoyed the scenic drive there as well. Will definitely return when we run out of Gouda and Granbury Gold! Thanks Matt!

We drove from Springtown and they were closed. We will try one more time but I’m going to call first. I really love cheese and I want to see this place. Today is May 20th an Monday at 1:30

I absolutely love this place. My African American wife and our kids usually get mixed looks but here we were treated like family. It's a big deal to us. The cheese is more amazing than the atmosphere!! Thanks Matt for taking care of us.

Old timey shop in a small town. The lobby has a large window so you can watch the cheesemakers at work. Unfortunately, they weren't making cheese on the day we went. Cheese tasting was good, with several types of cheese available. A hidden gem!

Yelp
So here's our thought. This cheese is a bit more expensive than similar cheese (in name and style) you would by at the grocery store. But it is quality cheese, and you get see where it is made. Not being familiar with this shop, we decided, with the help of Matt (I believe he is the head cheese, maker) to put together a sampling of the available cheeses. The ones were picked are: Granbury Gold: 2-4 month aged Gouda style cheese. Granbury Vintage: 6-9 month aged Gouda style cheese. Birdville Reserve: Natural rind Trappist style cheese. Caraway to Heaven: Toasted caraway seeds in a Gouda style cheese. There was not a bad cheese in the bunch and we enjoyed them all, right down to the rind, which IS edible. I added a photo of all available cheese, and the prices. I totally expect to come back, whenever we need to put a cheese plate together. Oh, and as another testament, as we were leaving a group of 4 came in, and they had driven all the way from Dallas after learning of this cheese. And I will say, it is worth the drive. Bottom line: If you like cheese, this place is definitely worth going out of your way for!

Yelp
Please support awesome small businesses! We love artisan cheeses and while we live in Dallas and get the opportunity to visit and purchase bigger cheese shops, there's just something about being able to go to the source. If you are a fan of aged cheeses, this is a must visit! We tried the granbury gold (the mildest), award winning birdville reserve, caraway to heaven, granbury limited edition, and drunken monk: they were out of the bottom three. We purchased every one of them! Locally sourced and made...it was perfection! We will definitely be back for more on our next visit to the area!!!

Yelp
My husband and I visited and loved the different cheese options! The storeowner was really friendly and informative about their different options. We bought three different wedges and can't wait to snack on them these next few months.

Yelp
Just got back from quick trip to Granbury. While there, we took a ten minute drive to Lipan to check this place out. Just a small storefront in a very small town. A no frills operation but they make some awesome cheese. Different varieties of Gouda, Trappist, even Raclette. The proprietor's son Matt was super friendly and explained the cheese making process and was super generous with the samples. The "Tomme de Hood" was a favorite as was the bourbon washed "Drunken Monk". Worth the trip if only to get something new for wine and cheese by the lake while in Granbury. Also good karma for supporting a local craft. Matt said they soon are going to selling homemade ice cream so add a fifth star when they have that kid-friendly option up and running.
