"Earl’s is a Leytonstone sandwich shop that’s open seven days a week—finally, somebody who understands that our desire for bread never takes a day off. The bread of choice here is focaccia from The Snapery East and fillings have included BLTs with candied bacon, butter chicken salads, and ‘Not So Italian Beef’ with ‘szechuan’ beef. You can grab an Assembly Roast coffee here, too." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
"Earl’s is a sandwich shop in Leytonstone’s Cann Hall Park where you’ll likely hear the words “one second, mummy just needs to order her oat flat white”. Outside, there’s a line of tables where parents sit, micro scooters in tow, to watch their kids play, while inside it’s all rust-red walls and hefty, creative sandwiches. These are the breaded giants of inspired 4am fridge filling raids—fried Rice Krispies, tahini-smothered aubergine parmigiana, and lashings of butter chicken. We like the latter best, but be warned that the sandwiches tend to sell out before, or during, the afternoon school run." - heidi lauth beasley
