Stopped in at Earl's on a Thursday for lunch. Had an incredible turkey and brie sandwich. The turkey was like something from a Thanksgiving dinner and not lunch meat. It was so flavorful and good. I would highly recommend.

Best Sandwiches I have ever had! Tastes and feels like I made them from home! Im never tired after eating here, and i always feel great! This tells me that the food is clean, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The Turkey and Roast Beef are cooked fresh daily, and the Chicken is made fresh to order everytime! They even have the best hot sauce! I've been eating here every week for the past year, ever since I discovered this hidden gem! My favorite is the Grilled Chicken Sandwich on sourdough! They are even so kind and are willing to do half sized sandwiches and any modifications to meet your satisfaction. Sometimes, I will get a half sandwich with extra chicken if i dont want too much bread, and they always hook it up! The amount of food they give is very generous and the prices are the best in Virginia, especially for the quality of food you are getting! The employees are always friendly and helpful, and they just create a wonderful atmosphere in the store with their great customer service! I highly recommend everyone trying their sandwiches! They are better than Moms😉

Google
I love this sandwich shop. If I lived in Arlington, I would be a regular. Excellent quality. Accurately made to order. Couldn't get a pic of my sons pulled porksandwich, he ate it. I had the Cuban, my wife had the Honorary Doctorate . Crispy grilled bread, fresh vegetables and great flavor. Eat here, love yourself.

James

Google
A lovely sandwich shop that provides a wealth of options. I usually order online to pickup and the sandwiches, wraps, po boys are ready within 20 minutes. My favorite are their pork loin series, especially their Bay of Pigs sandwich. It's also fun that they put fries within their sandwiches! They have rotating monthly specials that aren't your typical sandwiches which are a fun treat. While most people order to go, they do have a small indoor dining space and a few outdoor tables. The staff are always so friendly, and it's a lovely neighborhood establishment!

Google
Indulge in fantastic sandwiches with a myriad of options; I adore the flavors and the friendly staff. While the ambiance could be elevated, the cleanliness and brightness inside are appreciated. Recommend it

Google
The sandwiches are on the more expensive side (ranging from $10 - 13), but I would say the quality is well worth it. The meat was delicious, the vegetables were crisp and fresh, the sauce complimented everything really well, and the buns were nicely toasted. I'd much rather pay a little more for a sandwich that is actually good than spend $6 - 8 on a sandwich I could've made at home for $1, but that's just me.

Gabriella

Google
The ratio of bread to sandwich filling is just right, and there's a good balance of meat, veggies, and condiments. Enjoyed two variations of a roast beef sandwich (spicy with coleslaw and regular with cheddar and horseradish sauce), as well as a pork loin sandwich with pickles and lots of roasted vegetables - pork loin sandwich wins. I liked that the sandwiches can be easily smushed down. If Google allowed fractions I would give 4.5/5. :)

Google
Earls is one of the best things going in the neighborhood, with super, creative sandwiches. My only area for improvement would be to offer more genuinely vegetarian options, starting with the soups. Even the tomato soup, it turns out, is made with turkey stock. If you are like me, and prefer your turkeys strutting around and breathing the fresh air, this is a deal breaker, and excellent veggie soups are possible without adding meat. I know that Earl’s is more than up to the challenge.

Yelp
I just had the most mouth-watering experience at Earl Sandwiches and couldn't wait to share it with you all! Let me start by saying that the Sweet Potato Fries were divine - perfectly crispy on the outside and oh-so-soft on the inside. They were seasoned just right, making every bite a true delight. Now, let's talk about the Cut French Fries - they were a classic favorite done just right--Golden and crispy, with that irresistible potato flavor you can't get enough of. Dip them in ketchup or eat them plain; either way, they were delicious. And last but not least, the Whole Tuna Sandwich stole the show. It was a true masterpiece, packed with flavorful tuna salad and fresh veggies and sandwiched between two slices of perfectly toasted bread. The balance of flavors and textures was spot on, making it a sandwich I won't soon forget. Overall, my experience at Earl Sandwiches was top-notch. The food was fantastic, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. If you're in the mood for some delicious sandwiches and sides, do yourself a favor and visit them. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Someone sent me a 1/2 turkey sandwich with the cranberrry and avocado. Wow. So delicious. The bread was so fresh! The turkey must have been freshly carved. Cranberry sauce the perfect tangy/sweetness ratio. It came with a couple of cookies but I haven't tried them yet. Putting this place in my permanent rotation!! How have I lived so close and missed this gem so many years?!

Joshua H.

Yelp
Was drawn to this place because of the good reviews; however, personally I am not a huge fan The steak and brie was not what I was expecting. To me it tasted like a worse philly cheesesteak. The hand cut fries were really good. The turkey club was decent but nothing amazing.

Sydney G.

Yelp
Came here for the first time recently and really enjoyed it! I opted for the Turkey Club. Love that the turkey is carved from real turkey meat and is full of flavor. In retrospect the additional piece of bread is unnecessary and ended up making the sandwich a little tricky to eat. I heard from a coworker that the cubano is the thing to get here so I'll definitely be back to try that!

Patricia S.

Yelp
Really enjoyed trying Earls today for the first time! I tried the turkey cranberry and the chipotle turkey. I love that you can get half sandwiches so you can try different ones without breaking the bank! I really enjoyed the cranberry sauce on the turkey cranberry sandwich. It was really busy in a Saturday afternoon but the wait was only 15 minutes. Not much seating inside so recommend taking it to go! Only recommendation would be for the bread to be more toasted

Frankie C.

Yelp
I love love love the Pork and Fries. Must try!!! The staff are also helpful and friendly. Easy-going atmosphere, a plus!!!

Jessica B.

Yelp
My boyfriend's favorite sandwich shop in the DMV is @earls_sandwiches so of course we had to highlight it! His go-to is the roast beef and cheddar and it's not hard to see why he loves it so much. Packed in between perfectly toasted sourdough you find freshly sliced beef, melted cheddar cheese, and a smear of horseradish mayo. I opted for one of their January monthly specials, the Pearl. Tender white and dark meat turkey, and tart and delicious cranberry relish, all drowned in fresh gravy and packed inside a brioche bun made every bite burst with flavor. As a Thanksgiving lover I was in heaven. Whether you try a monthly special or go with a fried and true favorite, you can't go wrong with Earl's

Kimberly J.

Yelp
So good! I've had this place bookmarked forever and I'm so glad to finally try it out! Found street parking nearby. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The sandwich shop is clean and super organized. The cashier was incredibly friendly and helpful. Restroom is in the back and clean as well. There is also a diaper changing table in there. Tried their Roast Beef & Cheddar Sandwich, Sweet Potato Fries, Hand-Cut French Fries, and Fish & Chips Basket. It was all very good! Quality ingredients are used and the flavors are all there. Nothing was overly salty. The portions are generous. What a lovely sandwich shop, with amazing options. Can't wait to come back and try some more of their menu options.

Jocelyn G.

Yelp
Great local sandwich shop. The sandwiches are a good size for the price. I got the turkey cranberry Brie sandwich which was good, but the turkey was a bit dry. I think I would try the roast beef sandwich next time.

Shelby D.

Yelp
Good sandwiches: made to order, homemade ingredients, and HOT. Kind service, decent prices. Highly recommend this local sandwich shop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner: serves breakfast all day! Open until 8pm!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
I was fully expecting slices of deli meat on my sandwich. Nope! Chunks of freshly roasted and moist turkey with a delicious cranberry relish and salad greens on a multigrain bread. I was smart, and I only ordered a 1/2 sandwich. I also ordered a 1/2 order of fries, but they really needed a sauce of some sort (I ordered delivery, and there was no place to request ketchup - oh well). They were still good fries - definitely not previously frozen. A completely satisfying meal!

Katie W.

Yelp
Really delicious sandwiches and quick service! Even being busy it didn't take that long to get our food. The turkey cranberry was especially delicious. Took the food to go, but they also have tables inside and outside to eat there too

Lindsay F.

Yelp
Love Earls! Have gotten The Wilson, The Route 66, and the monthly sandwiches that change & every time they hit the spot this place definitely gets busy so if you're trying to go on a weekend morning I recommend ordering ahead. Only "complaint" is that the price is a little steeper than I'd like for a sandwich. That being said, it hasn't stopped me from going back.

Wesley R.

Yelp
I ordered my Sandwich online at 3:30. Was notified my order would be ready at 4pm. I arrive at 3:45 and the place is drop dead empty. When you can get a sandwich here it is awesome.

Michael N.

Yelp
After driving by Earl's literally hundreds of times, I finally went in and grabbed lunch. The roast pork sandwich I picked up was wonderful. With a 12 ounce cup of Turkey chili, half a sandwich made for a very filling lunch. And it was all very inexpensive (by DC standards). Staff were friendly--and make great, beautiful food. (But ate my food before I could take a photo.) I'll definitely be back. (I was also impressed that their payment system asked if I wanted to give a 5%, 15%, or 25% tip--not the usual: 18%, 25%, higher!!)

Zack G.

Yelp
Hole-in-the-wall sandwich spot with ample seating scattered around the counter Have a small menu of creative options No option to create your own, but you can make a few changes to their pre-existing options (including the option to put fries in your sandwich) Can order ahead online Have a few daily specials that are not on their online menu My GF and I both got sandwiches from here and they were very solid, as were our fries & sweet potato fries!

John F.

Yelp
Cool little spot. The sandwich was very good as I'd expected based on what I had read, but the fries were a very nice surprise. The damn fries were better than Five Guys in my opinion. I don't remember the brand of fountain soda, but the cherry was excellent. I'll definitely be back to try other stuff.

Brittany Anne O.

Yelp
YUM YUM -- x 10000 YUM. I've lived and worked in Arlington for years and had no idea this spot existed. I decided to stop by the other day for an early afternoon lunch and could not have been more pleased! We ordered two of the sandwiches listed on the specials board. I can't remember their exact names but the first had grilled chicken, bacon and cheese. The second had crispy onions, thinly sliced beef and sautéed onions. Both sandwiches were served on fresh bread and were made to order. It took a few minutes for everything to be cooked -- but once it came out it was piping hot and delicious. I have to imagine everything else on their menu is made equally fresh and with tasty ingredients. A few people in line had ordered breakfast sandwiches and wraps and they looked amazing. Full of eggs and potatoes-- stuffed ! There was outdoor seating on a few picnic tables and high tops. Will definitely be grabbing lunch here again soon!

Ailun H.

Yelp
Overall, 3.5/5 but will round up to a 4/5 because of the convenience and casual aspect. If I stop by again, I'll definitely try other sandwich options here! TURKEY CRANBERRY - 9.99 My friend and I both got this sandwich and it was pretty decent! This seems to be one of their most popular sandwiches here. I like that the turkey breast isn't just deli turkey meat but actual turkey. My only quip is that the meat was a bit dry and could use a bit more seasoning. However, the cranberry relish was a pleasantly sweet yet tart flavor that was the "cherry on top". The multi-grain bread was a good choice for this sandwich. The sandwich was good, but nothing exceptional. I don't eat a lot, so I was able to split this sandwich into two meals. However, most people should be able to kill the sandwich in one go. $10 for a sandwich is pretty pricy, but the roasted turkey could make it worthwhile. If you're okay with substituting that with good quality deli turkey meat, you can definitely make this sandwich at home for a much lower price since you only need turkey, cranberry relish, mayo, lettuce, and two slices of bread - most of which are common kitchen ingredients.

Monique B.

Yelp
Earl had me after the first bite! I'm all about a buttered brioche bun, coupled with juicy grilled chicken, American cheese and crispy bacon....stick a fork in me. Served piping hot and oozing with flavor, the sauce was giving more marinara/bbq than chipotle, but I'm not complaining. I do however wish they had better drink options. A glass of homemade lemonade or sweet tea would have sealed the deal. All in all, Earl has my attention, I will definitely be back for seconds.

Jackie V.

Yelp
Service was fast at lunch and it's a good spot to grab a bite. I wasn't blown away by the sandwich. I had the roast beef with cheddar and the roast beef was dry and very cooked. I was expecting something a little more rare. Bread was nicely toasted and buttered. Loved the fries definitely delicious. The sodas are good too - Black Cherry was great!

William T G.

Yelp
the best sandwiches in the area arlington falls church alexandria dc ........period!!!!! service is great... quality product!

J M.

Yelp
The sandwich was pretty basic but well stacked with meat. The size was decent. Fries weren't bad either. Some crispy some soggy but for the record I got them to go so maybe that was what caused some sogginess. Service was good since I was the only customer at the time. I was able to easily switch the cheese type on my order. Not a bad sandwich shop. Prices were a tad above average imho.

S T.

Yelp
Prices are high and you get very little meat on your sandwich, it's mostly bread. Although the meat is very good.

Melissa F.

Yelp
absolutely amazing sandwiches. The turkey + Brie is truly thanksgiving in your mouth. All of the meat is so fresh and homemade (turkey, pork lion, etc). My bf is a big fan of bay of pigs (his go to) and I'm a strong turkey and Brie girl. Do not think you can go wrong here though!

Phantom M.

Yelp
This was a big disappointment. Definitely not sure what all the hype is. Flavor profiles were off and the "everyday" roasted must not have happened as the turkey and pork was definitely lacking that home cooked taste. The pork specifically was very fatty and non-existent in one sandwich. The turkey was ok. Nothing special. Price... $12-15 for a sandwich is expensive. Especially for the size and quality. Overall, too expensive, quality is not there and customer service was ok, but no really reason to return.

TeChera R.

Yelp
Honestly, I don't get the hype?! I was in the mood for a really good turkey sandwich, so I ordered from here based on other reviews. I ordered the Turkey & Brie sandwich but it was soggy and flavorless--in fact, my bag of sour cream & chive potato chips had more flavor. Oh well.

Krithika S.

Yelp
Love getting lunch sandwiches here during the week. The Turkey cranberry sandwich is very good! I think the bread that they use really sells it. Sometimes the Turkey can be dry, but it's not enough of an issue for me to stop ordering it.

Ray T.

Yelp
Turkey and cranberry sandwich was good. Fries were terrible. They were cold and limp. Would not recommend ordering them.

Kaitlin G.

Yelp
Earl's sandwiches is an Arlington staple in my opinion. It's one of those places you have to go to. Who wouldn't like comfort food in sandwich form?! I always order the turkey cranberry, and yes it is actual roasted turkey like you'd eat on Thanksgiving (not deli meat turkey). It is soooo good! Comes with turkey breast, cranberry relish, mayo, and lettuce on multigrain bread. My fiancé always orders some kind of fried fish, either the fish and fries sandwich or the fish and chips basket. He always raves about it! Summary - you have to go here and get yourself a delicious sandwich!!!

Joel T.

Yelp
Something is definitely wrong here that this place has such a high rating & only one dollar sign indicating it's not expensive. Both are lies! I ordered a half breakfast sandwich on brioche with sausage egg & cheese. Working in Panera for a few years, I expected that "half" sandwich meant one whole brioche roll or half of a very large brioche roll as they tend to be small. Nope. Half of a tiny roll. I take full responsibility for that. Working in the food industry, i know the customer should ALWAYS be aware and never assume. What really irked me was the price for that raggedy piece of dryness. $6.79 for a dry half brioche roll with a tiny slab of dry egg, NO CHEESE and a sausage that was actually good. Panera is considered very expensive in the food industry, yet you can buy a WHOLE breakfast sandwich on a WHOLE FRESHLY BAKED brioche roll with FRESHLY COOKED WHOLE egg, sausage AND CHEESE for only 50 cents more than Earl's terrible half. Earl's also has the nerve to charge over $10 for a whole brioche breakfast sandwich. LOL what?? Literally two bites and i was done with the sandwich. Had to just go to my store to get an actual good breakfast sandwich.

Colin U.

Yelp
Easily one of the best sandwich choices in all of Arlington. They once had a roasted Earl which I didn't see on the menu this time. My go to is either the grilled chicken or the Turkey with cranberry. Service is consistent and reasonably quick. Ambiance is what you might expect from a no frills sandwich shop that focuses on quality food.

Tracie M.

Yelp
My roast turkey and Brie sandwich on multigrain bread is delicious . Earl's never disappoints !

ND DC D.

Yelp
These sandwiches are fresh and you can taste the quality of meat they use, nothing processed. Only knock is the flavor can trend plain on the menu. The fries are worth a try, almost a hint of funnel cake flavor and very unique.

James C.

Yelp
Earl's is always great. Fresh roasted pork and their sandwich combinations are amazing. After a heavy night of fighting with my spouse or with the guys on the town or both even, nothing beats a breakfast sandwich at 12pm when you finally make it out of your house and onto the work day. You can even sit in the parking space along Wilson and eat it in your car with proper shame and self-hate. Get extra hot sauce packets and ketchup and pour them all over the wilson after you unwrap the paper and foil to get to the goodness. They give you lots of napkins so you can make sure to not make a giant mess or if you do, you can clean it up. Wish life was that easy to clean up and toss away in a big paper bag. Thank you!

Danielle H.

Yelp
I'm new to Arlington and moving is exhausting so I wanted to treat my family to lunch for all their help. I knew we didn't want anything too heavy so deli sandwiches it was. I searched for deli shops in the area and came across Earl's Sandwiches. My family and I really enjoyed the sandwiches. However, I will say Earl's is expensive, at least to me. I'll definitely be going back, but just something for anyone reading this to note. Looking forward to trying the breakfast sandwiches next!

Lily B.

Yelp
I love getting the egg cheese and bacon via DoorDash from Earl's. You can order extra egg if you feel like it. It's a nice, big, hefty sandwich that will fill you up. A comment on DoorDash recommended these salmon BLT so I went in person. I should have stated my preference on bread. It came on a chewy multi grain bread and the bread fell apart from the moisture from the salmon. My bad. I went in person to get the salmon sandwich because I didn't want to pay close to $20 with fees and tips for a sandwich on DoorDash. It was good, three or four star good. But the breakfast sandwiches are legit. I'll try more sandwiches from Earl's. But I won't buy the salmon again cuz it was just so so for the money. There's parking outside on the street. Pretty simple to pull up and park. Located close to Whole Foods. Very little place to sit in the inside, couple more spaces outside. I just took mine to go and that's what I'm likely to do in the future. Pleasant woman at the counter. I'll be a repeat customer in person or DoorDash.

Charles R.

Yelp
Nothing spectacular about their overly priced sandwiches. Yes the turkey is made in house however it was bland and dry.

Rachel S.

Yelp
It's disappointing to see speciality sandwich shops not carry gluten free options. I'm celiac, and before I found out, I had Earls and it was delicious. But the lack of inclusivity is unacceptable in 2023.

A. G.

Yelp
Great sandwiches! Friendly, Competent staff. We ordered meals for 16 guests. No one got a bad meal.

J Warren R.

Yelp
A really great sandwich place. There are so many things this place does right. Above all are all the fresh ingredients. They roast their own Turkey and Pork Loins. No store bought deli packs in here. What that means to me is extraordinary flavor. Sandwiches are large and could easily be split. I ordered online; food was ready when I arrived. Exceptionally friendly and helpful server greeted me and helped me find my order. There are lots of really great sandwich options here. I am certain that you will find something that will please. Recommend.

Garrett F.

Yelp
I am here to say that The Wilson sandwich at Earls (Corned beef hash, eggs, and cheese on rye bread) is the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. I do not say this lightly. Seriously delicious. For a side, I got the home fries which were pretty standard - nothing special and probably could have used some more crisp, but I still enjoyed them. I haven't tried any other sandwiches here, but from what I've had so far, I'd imagine everything is good!

Laura W.

Yelp
Great place for a quick, quality sandwich! I stopped in to get takeaway on a weekday early evening. The inside of Earl's does have a few tables, but I can tell why it's mostly carryout. I walked up to the counter, ordered, and was out within several minutes. Street parking did not look easy, but the metro (Courthouse stop) is a few blocks away. Despite several sandwiches catching my eye, I chose the turkey and brie-Warm Brie cheese , turkey breast, homemade cranberry relish and field green on grilled multigrain. Although not consumed until I arrived home, everything was delicious! The brie was well-melted, and I love that Earl's uses hard-carved turkey as opposed to deli meat. The cranberry relish was a nice addition and provided a contrasting sweet flavor to the richness of the brie. Field greens were a bit heavy but easily removed. The multigrain bread was nicely toasted and, personally, I LOVED the crust. I did add spicy mustard at home because I felt the sandwich was a bit too lacking with the cranberry relish. If there had been more of it, I suspect no mustard would have been needed. I recommend Earl's for a quick sandwich without sacrificing quality; however, I would probably not go out of my way to visit unless I were already in the area.

Emma M.

Yelp
I'm a huge sandwich fan. This sandwich is good but would use some more of the pesto. I got the Louis. The chicken isn't slices, it's more like chunks. It's good and the bread is good just a little bit more sauce and it would be great! I also got the gumbo which is good and not spicy at all. I recommend!

Ana B.

Yelp
The customer service from Mike was terrific! He was so sweet and very accommodating. The garlic chicken sandwich recommendation was phenomenal.

Mischa J.

Yelp
Very nice and cozy little neighborhood sandwich shop and eatery with a few indoor and outdoor seats! The sandwiches were very good, the sodas were good quality, and the people here were nice as well. I would come back.

Kerry B.

Yelp
Bay of Pigs sandwich was bomb and the fries were just what fries should be--now my go-to sandwich spot in Arlington.

Yaz T.

Yelp
What a great sandwich from a little place. I enjoyed my Turkey and cranberry sandwich. It was very good. I will be back. Thank

Jersey M.

Yelp
Earl's Sandwiches is really the Earl of Sandwich in these modern times. They really know exactly what they're doing in the sandwich game. They are not far from us, and sit next to one of our favorite coffee spots, so it's perfect to pop in every now and again for a bomb sandwich or salad. This time, we ordered, a la social distancing extravaganza. I really wanted the chipotle chicken, but I can't really do bread, so I got it as a salad. I also grabbed some of the hand cut fries. Now those fries are really incredible. They were so crispy and clearly freshly made. They also had the perfect amount of salt. I wish I had ordered two orders because they were gone like that (*snapped my fingers*). The salad was a bit of a gamble, but I came out on top with this too. It was pretty good! Basically the sandwich fix-ins were dumped over a salad. I would have preferred the chicken to be shredded, that would have been easier to eat, but the flavor was really on point. It kind of reminded me of a Southwest, high protein salad situation. Very good. If you're looking for an all American lunch that is guaranteed to be solid, look no further. The Earl is here to stay.

Patrick P.

Yelp
After living over a decade in Arlington, I've seen a lot of transformation as the once quiet DC neighbor develops into a modernized city. Long gone are the Dr. Dreamo's, Jay's Saloons, and even Clarendon Ballrooms. Even Goody's pizza is now a shop that sells tacos (in addition to pizza.) However it's really nice to see a local favorite still around selling the same high quality sandwiches which have become my weekend go-to. It's 2005 establishment date doesn't sound old but Earl's is now as classic as they come when compared to its surroundings. When I visit on the weekends it's only a short walk form my apartment or if I'm out and about I can usually find street parking near it's Wilson Blvd location, however I can't speak to how easy it would be during the week. But enough about the location, how about the food? My personal favorite are the breakfast sandwiches, especially The Wilson. It's a complete breakfast in sandwich form: eggs, cheese, and corned beef hash. I'm always satisfied after enjoying a Wilson on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Their other sandwiches are also stellar, especially the roasted pork loin which they specialize in. I recommend the Pork & Fries or the Cuban Club. In a city where Jimmy John's, Chipotle are becoming more commonplace it's comforting to know that Earl's is still there from Day 1 serving up wonderful sandwiches.
