Where To Grab Lunch In The City - London - The Infatuation

"Remember the last time you went to an EAT or a Tesco Express for a takeaway sandwich? Sad, wasn’t it? Instead, we’d suggest wandering over to Earl’s, a classic deli off Fenchurch Street that makes sandwiches the old-fashioned way - they’re massive, satisfying, and perfect for lunch al desko. The tuna melt and roast beef sandwiches are the ones to get, and you can grab a Scotch egg for the walk back to your office." - oliver feldman, jake missing, david paw

One of the best things I’ve ever tried! Absolutely delicious, fresh, herby and spicy. I got the vegan mixed banh mi which had kimchi, tofu and hoisin mushroom. For £8.80 it’s amazing value for money as it’s hefty and filling! They made it extra spicy by adding more chillies and it was perfect. I also tried the vegan Vietnamese coffee however it didn’t taste any different to a normal iced coffee so I wouldn’t get that again. My feedback would be to cut the mushrooms and kimchi into smaller pieces as they’re hard to bite through, so you end up getting massive chunks of it in your mouth. Other than that, I will definitely be visiting again.

Really cute place! I got the tofu banh mi with extra hoisin and sriracha and unfortunately it was just so dry and tasteless😭 there were massive chunks of cucumber which just washed away any flavour. The tofu needs waaaay more marination, more sauce and more flavour. Lovely servers though and it is a lovely atmosphere.

Huge baguette, a good interpretation of the Vietnamese classic. The pate was overpowering and I wish I would have had it without it. Vegetables could be better pickled to enhance the flavour but overall a nice experience.

Absolutely lovely banh mi, and great value too! Had the mixed meat and kimchi, IT WAS HUGE! Flavours were excellent and the amount of pickled carrot was much appreciated. I've definitely found a new spot to keep coming back to when I'm in town.

I got the pork bahn mi and was heavily disappointed. The bread was so dry and tough it was almost impossible to eat. The pork also tasted old? And had no flavor as if it was boiled. I was expecting better due to the reviews but this was one of the worst bahn mi’s I’ve ever had unfortunately.

As a Brightonian, I can’t believe I hadn’t stumbled upon this place before. I had the mixed meat and kimchi banh mi which was so generously sized and oozing with flavour. I washed this down with their Vietnamese iced coffee which is to die for. The price point is very reasonable too! Highly recommend for a quick and filling bite.

The best banh mi me and my boyfriend have ever tasted. Crispy bread, filled with our meat of choice and so much veg which made it feel so light and perfect for the hot weather today. I even asked for a lime and they put a little smile, a small thing but I loved it :)

I was shocked when I saw this place had 164 reviews and they were all 5 star - but I completely get it! So much attention to detail, the edamame patê in the Maggi tofu bahn mi was beautiful, and all of the ingredients tasted so fresh. The bread was crunchy on the outside but not painfully so like some baguettes, and soft and airy on the inside. Perfect sandwich.
