We got the Tiramiru and Matha. Not sure if it's finger cookies but the soft crumbs in the ice cream were excellent! I enjoyed nibbling them with the yummy ice cream and crispy cone. The matcha is amazing, it tasted very matcha but not bitter at all. The best part is it's not too sweet, cause usually all the ice cream is overly sweet. If you're looking for something light, go with Matcha. Their cones were thinner than those of other shops, it's nice and fresh.

This place used to be top tier. I believe they changed their recipe for their cookies and cream. It tastes like cheap fake ice cream now. The cookies taste off and the ice cream texture is questionable. I’ve never had a bad batch of cookies and cream during my 5 years being their customer. I saw another lady saying the same thing as me, how their chocolate ice cream recipe changed. I might’ve had a bad batch during my visit, however the cookie tastes like the knock off oreo brand. Iykyk😉. Don’t be cheap, I’d rather yall charge more for the real deal than charge lower for some fake ice cream. The pictures attached were taken 1 minute after we received our scoop.

I'm not usually ice cream person. I tried London Fog and Salted Chocolate Toffee. There's no sugary aftertaste👍 Seriously good👍 I'll definitely go back for more😊

Earnest Ice Cream never misses! The salted caramel is my absolute staple, perfectly rich and addictive every time. I also tried the seasonal Sticky Toffee Pudding and Black Forest Cake flavours and they were unreal. So much depth, so much flavour, and you can taste the quality in every scoop. Easily one of the best ice cream spots in Vancouver!

The almond croissant ice cream flavour did not disappoint. I was able to get a sample of both the almond croissant and salted caramel before deciding. And I would definitely go back to have a full scoop their salted caramel. Just wish they had a bigger store!

For our first time in Vancouver, family suggested that we must go to Ernest Ice Cream before we leave. So we headed there on a late night. I got a Double Scoop with the cone upside down in the cup, which is how I usually get ice cream. We ordered the London Fog and the Chocolate Hazelnut Brownie. The London Fog was impeccable. I love flowery and anything Earl Grey, so this was perfect. The Chocolate Hazelnut was great too, solid flavor and loved the brownie chunks in it too. It was like a sweet little surprise. For both ice cream flavors, the consistency was perfect. It was very creamy yet very smooth, delicious, and the flavor shined in each bite. It was also the perfect amount of sweetness too. The ambiance and overall aesthetic was nice; it was clean, very cute white brick touches, and also a little industrial. When we arrived, we were very lucky. Apparently having a line out the door was common. There was no line at all, and service went really smooth. I was surprised at our wait time. And even if we did have to wait in a long line, Earnest Ice Cream would be worth it. I don't know when I'll be back but when I do, I'll make it a point to come here :)

Who doesn't love ice cream! This place has great flavors with some rotating season ones. I got a scoop of the (very creamy) oatmeal brown sugar and it was served in a darling little glass bowl. What a cute place!

Earnest is one of the best ice cream spots in Vancouver! They have monthly rotating flavours which keeps things exciting and fun. The November feature of almond croissant has been all the hype online & it is so worth it! A seasonal special but the perfect sweet treat to end a long day. I love that you are able to sample flavours before deciding what to order which is great for those who are indecisive, every flavour just sounds so good. Service is patient and attentive and are willingly to help answer any questions you may have about their flavours. This location is great as it has a seating area as well as - complimentary self serve water station.

I thought the vegan Cookies & Cream was deliciously on point and my hubs loved the London Fog ice cream. Generous scoops and vegan waffle cones for the win! Love that there are lots of vegan options. As someone who cannot digest dairy and eggs, this means a lot to me. The staff were friendly and asked about food allergies from the start too. We are definitely coming back to Earnest next time we visit Vancouver!

I was recommended this place when visiting and I was surprised by the line outside the door when we arrived. Luckily we just wanted to get the pint so there was a separate and shorter line to enter. They were so so busy but service was quick. I was in and out within 10 mins. I got a matcha pint and I enjoyed the ice cream. It was airy, fluffy, and not too sweet. I liked that they had a reuse pint container program. I would love to get this again if I were to come back to Vancity!

AMAZING ICE CREAM with 20 flavors (view my pic for all the flavors). Vegan options. Single scoop 5.25 / Double 7.50 We got the London Fog and Milk Chocolate and both were delicious. The London Fog may have been the best ice cream I have ever had. It was so flavorful and tasted exactly like the drink.

I have never stood in line for 40 minutes at 9 pm at night for ice cream before. But yes, Earnest is worth the wait.

We saw this place online and liked the variety of flavors that they had - especially that there was London Fog (we love Earl Grey). We got a scoop of the whiskey hazelnut and a scoop of the London Fog. We enjoyed both flavors. It was a nice post lunch treat. Excited to come back in the future to try out their other flavors.

They deliver the most exceptional vegan ice cream options! The chocolate cupcake (real cake chunks) and cookies and oat milk (real cookie chunks) blew my little vegan mind.

The portion sizes here are huuuge. It was probably the first time my husband and I almost couldn't finish sharing our one scoop together. The cookies and cream flavor is super rich and the cookie to ice cream ratio is generous. The line is long, but they move quick so we didn't mind. Not a ton of spots to sit down but we were on the go anyway so we didn't mind!

i was treated to ice cream today, as has been customary every time i get the covid vaccination, booster shot or visit the doctor's office. we arrived at around 3:00 pm on wednesday, and this marked my first meal of the day. sour cherry goat cheese - now that's a flavour combination i didn't see coming. not gonna lie, at first thought, it didn't sound very appetizing, but i was pleasantly surprised by the sample tasting provided. the saying, 'don't knock it 'til you've tried it', rings true here. the ice cream had a complex flavour profile, with tartness from the cherries, and a subtle hint of goat cheese. it's worth noting that the cherries are sourced from the okanagan, while the goat cheese is from a local farmer. it's definitely worth a try, before march is over.

We got in just in time to avoid a really long wait in line, but our moderate wait was definitely worth it. I had a salted chocolate with rye cookie ice cream that was really excellent. Everyone else was also happy with their selections. One thing that was interesting to me was that after we told the service person what we wanted, we were sent out of line to wait a bit. It took several minutes to get all of our orders scooped and ready. No issue with the wait, it was just the first time I'd been to an ice cream shop that didn't just do it right there while you waited. I hope this helps move the line through faster! Definitely recommend checking out this shop.

Came in on a Sunday night and the line was out the door. We waited for about 20 minutes to get to the front of the line. I had there a London fog, which was my first time! It was pretty good however, I felt like towards the end of my scoop it got too sweet for my liking. Definitely worth a try however, I wasn't THAT impressed

Quite possibly the best ice cream I've ever had in my life??????? Which is saying a lot because I eat a ton of ice cream. Impeccable service, airy interior, rich ice cream, and pleasantly unique flavors. My boyfriend and I stopped by around 3pm on a weekday and were served immediately; no line. We ordered: - Matcha: best matcha ice cream I've ever had. My boyfriend is still fantasizing about it to this day. Genuinely nutty, grassy matcha with the slightest hint of bitter. - Lemon Tart: vanilla ice cream with swirls of lemon curd and generous chunks of buttery pie crust. Amazing, 10 out of 10, would fall in love again. Each scoop was around $5.5. You have the ability to sample flavors and the scoops are generous. I appreciated the staff member at the counter who carefully explained each flavor to me as I was sampling them. I also sampled several of their vegan flavors. Was very impressed as they are nearly indistinguishable from dairy flavors. First place on my list for when I return to Vancouver!

In the great words of the Canadian rapper, Drake...Best I ever had. Earnest ice cream earned a spot as my top 5 favorite ice cream. I got the salted caramel and the flavor was powerful like that rush of the water at a waterfall. The consistency and texture of the ice cream was durable, meaning it took work to get a spoonful to your mouth. Personally, I think this is great because then the ice cream takes longer to melt. It reminded me of the texture of nitro ice cream. Honestly, I tried many flavors as samples and all of them were absolutely sensational. It was so good that I was thinking about coming back again for a second round. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The line was long, but kept it moving. Overall, this was top notch on so many levels.

Really good ice cream! All of their ice creams are bursting with natural flavour. They have good vegan choices and the vegan flavours that I've tried are basically indistinguishable from dairy ice cream. One thing I really like about their ice cream with mix-ins is that the chunks of whatever it is - fruit, cookies, etc. - are big! I love the textural contrast and Earnest does it so well. Also, if you like matcha, I think their matcha ice cream is probably the highest quality hard matcha ice cream in the city. This location in particular gets long line-ups and they can move slowly because of people getting samples before choosing. But hey, you can sample! I'm not sure if there's a limit but I myself have gone up to 3. Single scoop is currently $5.5, which is pretty decent since they're very big scoops, and no extra charge for a cone! And the staff is always very nice. If you have time, it's worth the wait!

Wow! The ice cream was delicious including the multiple non-dairy selections. Personal favorites were the non-dairy Nanaimo Bar and the PB&J ice cream sandwich.

Went here on a trip to Vancouver and i have to say, one of the best ice creams I've ever had. Even though I got the milk chocolate flavour, it might seem basic but it was so rich and creamy. When ordering, the menu said "upon availability" next to the Milk Chocolate one so I knew I had to try it. It did not disappoint. This is a must try when in Vancouver

#veganoptions There is a reason for the line to order! The wait actually went by really quickly. I was able to sample options. There were 4 vegan options. I went with chocolate, I always go chocolate. Its apparently coconut based but thankfully did not have that overwhelming coconut taste. Just a perfectly smooth dark chocolate. Very good! Would go again! About 5$ a scoop.

Large ice cream spot with delicious flavours! The service is friendly and lines are organized. I love that Earnest's allows you to sample their flavours. The seasonal flavours have really pleasantly surprised me a few times! There's decent seating inside but it fills up quick.

One of my favourite places for ice cream in Vancouver! I've lost track the number of times I have been here. Some of my go to flavors are whiskey hazelnut, London fog, and salted caramel. They also have ice cream sandwiches but I'm a bigger fan of their scoops instead. They also have a few unique seasonal flavours which my friend got to try this time around and quite enjoyed. Highly recommended when in Vancouver!

Definitely a must try ice cream store in Vancouver. Love that they have monthly specials, and there's a few locations dotted around the city, plus you can find their pints in some grocery stores. I normally visit the Quebec street location and it's a nice atmosphere inside; I recently tried one of the November 2023 monthly specials, the salted chocolate rye cookie, and it was legitimately life changing. I wish it was a regular flavour! My go to for the fixed flavours would probably be London Fog and Tahitian vanilla.

This place is great all year round . It's one of my favourite ice cream shops in Vancouver. The staff is helpful and enthusiastic! The atmosphere is airy and interesting. The way it's designed, doesn't make you feel like you are in a long line up. They have seasonal flavours that change almost monthly. There's always a variety of non dairy/ vegan choices. The scoops are generous . They also offer ice cream sandwiches and decadent sundaes .

The best ice cream in Vancouver! My favorite is the whiskey hazelnut and I usually keep a pint in my freezer. I decided to try something else this time. I had the chocolate hazelnut brownie in a cone. It was so good with real pieces of brownie embedded in the scoop of ice cream. The cone was also tasty. It is take out only due to covid. So you will see people standing outside enjoying their ice cream, especially on sunny days. There are bins outside their door so you can dispose of your used napkins and cups. Covid safety protocol also restricts the number of people inside. Wait for the green light before entering.

When I was visiting Canada, my friend took me here saying that it was a must-go-to in Vancouver. When we walked in, it was fairly later in the evening and the line wasn't very long which was nice. Staff was super friendly and let us sample as many options as we want. It was such an experience to try out the flavors, as they had so many unique one's I've never heard of before. In the end, I got a whiskey hazelnut and my friend got a London fog. It was a bit sad that there wasn't any inside seating, so we had to go outside in the cold to enjoy our ice cream (we ended up just sitting in our car). But, the ice cream was delicious--super creamy but not overwhelming in sweetness. Would definitely love to come back to try other flavors! :)

Stopped by early afternoon on the weekend during a heat wave. Other than a dip in a pool or the ocean, can not think of a more enjoyable thing to do in the heat. Opted for my go to, Salted Caramel...it was perfect. Happy to continue to recommend Earnest for ice cream.

Whiskey Hazelnut is delicious. This place was highly recommended by our friends & it exceeded our very high expectations. Both of the Whiskey Hazelnut & toasted coconut were so good. There was a line but it moves rapidly quickly. Staff does a great job of expediting the orders.

This is pretty close to the best ice cream I've ever had, and that's saying a lot (I've eaten and will continue to eat more ice cream than any human being should). The Whiskey Hazelnut and Cookies & Cream were out of this world. Also highly recommend the Tahitian Vanilla and the Salted Caramel. Love the vibe of the shop as well, and the service is incredibly friendly. Will be back whenever I'm in town!

A perfect dessert for a sunny day. I got a double scoop with London Fog and Matcha Green Tea and both flavors were really strong, creamy and delicious. They also had a bunch of other fun and interesting flavors like Whiskey Hazelnut and Sweet Corn Blueberry Swirl that were great as well. Check them out!

I absolutely LOVE Earnest's - one of my favorite Ice cream spots in Vancouver and maybe in Canada. There's always a line, so make sure you come well before closing and are prepared to wait. You have the option to try samples, so if you're unsure about a flavor you get to try them first before deciding. I got a split scoop of the Mint Chocolate and a seasonal flavor. Unfortunately, the Whiskey Hazelnut was sold out by the time I got there. I'd love to try it next time or get a pint (didn't have a freezer with me this time). Beware, they REALLY pack the scoops. I got so much wonderful ice cream and it took me a while to finish it, but it was super worth it. I'd absolutely come back and keep trying other flavors!

The sampling is the bottleneck at this place but it's necessary if you want to pick what you want. What's cute is not just the store where you descend into it whereby when you're on the ground floor you're actually looking up towards those still in line. Best part of this place is the people who buy ice cream here. Attractive types.

My favourite ice cream place-- hands down in Vancouver. Whiskey hazelnut is my go-to for its uniqueness, and just the perfect about of flavour. It's creamy, with the perfect combination of whiskey and hazelnut. I think they nailed the sweetness just right. I love taking a stroll along science world and treating myself to a reward, especially once things warm up. For those who can't finish a full scoop, the kids size is an option I usually go with that helps me satisfy my cravings without overstuffing myself.

I have visited all their store locations and have few of my favorites, Whiskey pecan with vanilla, Rocky road with chocolate, Lemon Blueberry with Cranberry/dark Chocolate. I'm always satisfied with my flavors. Highly recommended

I came here upon recommendation from a friend who's a huge ice cream fan, and was not disappointed! The shop inside is quite small and you wait outside until a little traffic light turns green (literally!). I thought that was super cute haha. They're currently doing samples again which was nice, so I was able to try a few flavors before deciding what to get. For a single scoop, they only let you choose one flavor so I got the mint chocolate chip since it's my go-to for any new ice cream shop. The scoop was humongous, and definitely worth it. The ice cream was creamy but not too heavy, the mint tasted really fresh, and the chocolate chips were nice and crunchy as I like them. Super good overall, and I want to try more of their flavors now!

TLDR: Amazing ice cream, but be careful: Their cones are not robust enough for the double scoop. ------ Review of flavors I tried: Been a long time since I've had ice cream this good! I sampled Whiskey Hazelnut, London Fog, and Sweet Corn Blueberry Swirl. London Fog was my favorite of the three. Strong tea flavor; obviously the ice cream is cold, but it really invokes the warm feelings of coziness and nostalgia that comes with earl grey (maybe that's just a me thing). Also, tasteful amount of sugar, maybe slightly on sweeter side if anything but I'm being super critical at this point. Whiskey hazelnut was pretty good too, based on the mini nibble I had. A little nutty, a little woody. Nothing really stood out, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Means it was well-balanced with no overpowering flavors. The corn and blueberry swirl sample was my third favorite. Just tasted like corn. Maybe I just didn't get the blueberry bits. But honestly, corn ice cream kinda good. I ended up getting a London Fog and Espresso Flake double scoop. I usually like throwing in a scoop of a flavor I DON'T try just for fun. It's thrilling. If you like sweet, almost caramel-y coffee, you'll like espresso flake. Although, you won't get too much of the satisfying bitterness you taste with good espresso. Chocolate bits added nice crunchy texture, but they're always too small and frozen for me to really taste them (it's a problem with all ice cream flavors that have chocolate bits for me). ------ Details on my experience (i.e. story time): The ice cream lady was super nice. Gave me two giant scoops. In fact, it looked like she was really struggling to pack in the first scoop (London Fog). I was actually getting a little concerned that it was too big, but didn't say anything because I didn't want her to put any of it back. She eventually got it to work (or so I thought) and proudly handed it to me. Took the cone outside. It started melting almost immediately. Suggests high sugar content. (Jk I have no idea if that's true, don't listen to me. I'm not a food scientist; I just I wish I was). Started eating fast because it was melting all over the place. I normally don't like mounching on ice cream because it hurts my teeth and leaves ugly bite marks, but it was so delicious that I didn't care. I also didn't have a choice because I didn't grab enough napkins. As I was walking and enjoying my bitefuls (Is "bitefuls" a word? It should be.) of ice cream, I felt the weight of the cone sort of shift in my hand. In that moment, the cone snapped in half and the two scoops (plus a bit of waffle) toppled over. Without thinking, I reached out and snatched what I could out of mid-air. Since the ice cream cone was top heavy (thanks to the lady who packed it nice and tight), the thing flipped over on to it's head as it was falling. Ended up with balls of ice cream in my clenched fist, dripping all over the cuffs of a brand new jacket. Despite the accident, I still ate the rest of it. Was sort of just lapping it out of my hand in the end. But I wasn't ashamed. It was damn good ice cream. And, on top of that, I was able to get the stains out of my jacket with some water and whitening toothpaste. 5 stars.

I really like Whiskey Hazelnut. that was so great !!!! I have been there for three or four times , it's the best ice cream sopts in my mind. next time i would like to buy a pint and bring it back home to enjoy !

I'm always looking for vegan ice cream (not cashew based) and these guys make the best thus far Coconut based vegan ice cream without tasting like coconut but just like regular ice cream (& texture)! We've been coming here even when the temps drop! Good covid protocol with very limited customers allowed inside, a traffic light before entering & a foot pump for hand sanitizer

Go here for some good ice cream. The flavours apparently rotate every couple of days, and they range from fruity ones to more decadent ones, with way too many to name. Ice cream was smooth as ever and the flavours were quite on point for what the name said it was. Also, located right by a few breweries, great place to go after a day of drinking! Some of the breweries you can actually bring food in... so we picked some ice cream up and brought it with us to drink some beers. what a great afternoon! IIRC, 1 scoop is about $6 and 2 scoopes was about 8 or $9. Overall, definitely worth it to go. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is probably because I was expecting some more outrageous flavours that are a little more unusual. A lot of the flavour combos were pretty tame, but obviously not everyone would be into random flavours like wasabi or something.

Right around the corner from Fife Bakery and a few minutes from the Main Street Science World Station, Earnest Ice Cream has and is undoubtedly a local favourite since its inception years ago. After making its legendary glass jar pints an Instagram staple, many other ice cream shops seemingly followed suit, and it's a great idea letting people take home their favourite flavors from the store. If you head there during a busy weeknight, its guaranteed that you will encounter a massive lineup that runs along the length of the building. These are tourists and locals all wanting to grab a scoop for themselves from this iconic Vancouver ice cream brand. Flavors are always added to and rotated out so be sure to monitor their Instagram for new updates, such as Blueberry Cheesecake, Lavender Shortbread, East Van Roasters Ghost Chocolate. My favourites are Matcha Green Tea, Cookies and Cream and London Fog. In store, the multitude of flavors are written out on clipboards on top of the scooping area and the super friendly staff will grab you a sample to try if you're having trouble deciding. They even have an affogato option in addition to your usual scoop in a cone, or in a cup. If you want to skip the line and simply grab a 500ml pint, you can head to the right of the stairs and walk over to the counter where a staff member will take your order. Pint options will be listed on the side of the freezer. These pints will also feed at least 4 people if you're eating asap in store and willing to share, but they do need a few minutes to defrost before you're able to make a dent in them. After you're done with the jar, you can take them home and repurpose them as aesthetic storage containers, or you can wash and return them for a dollar back. During COVID, Earnest Ice Cream has created a curb-side pickup system where they send a confirmation email to the buyer to come through within a 30-minute timeframe and pick up their order. They even have tubs of ice cream for sale if you just can't get enough of their Ice cream sandwiches and pints. So be sure to check them out online for their current flavors and support this local business during this time if you're in the area.
