Alert! New Closure Date-Sunday, February 23rd. ********************* Enjoyed the delicious food and the wonderful service. Spicy Italian Sausage & Pepper, the House Style Signature Burgers with large onion rings, Cold Cut Sub, and Candied Walnut Salad. For desserts, we enjoyed The Chocolate Suicide Cake and Tiramisu. The Ice Teas and freshly brewed coffee are incredibly good. The ingredients are top notched, tasty and breads and buns are freshly baked. All of the foods were wonderfully delicious! I am very sad to hear that this restaurant will be closing and their LAST DAY for BUSINESS is on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2025. So very important to enjoy their food & service before their closure.

As a Santa Monican, this restraunt has been close to my heart figuratively and literally. After forty- three years, their doors are closing sometime in Feb 2025. After reading the shattering news on Thursday, I decided to stop in Friday night. I wasn't in my usual salad and pasta mood and ordered their delicious hamburger. Charbroiled to my liking with, of course, friendly and patient service. Experienced many fond and cherished memories for the past four decades. Home is where the heart is and sadly no longer be found in Earth Wind & Flour Restaurant. ~Farewell, and thank you for the memories 💋

I'm an idiot for taking so long to do this, the guys and I were here the week before Christmas for some late night dinner, and we weren't going anywhere else the rest of our time there, the pizza was really great, and I get it, just a pepperoni, nothing difficult here, but there is. You see between a Puerto Rican, upstate NY, PNW grown men with different taste pallets different backgrounds of cooking we all had a love for this place. I know I'll be back down there this summer and will hit this place up again because there ingredients, the care, the service and the atmosphere were right, in fact they were kind enough to make us one last pie the evening before we flew out even tho they wanted to close. I can't speak enough of this restaurant and I know you'll love it as well🙌🏼.

Google
One of the best pizzas in the country hands down. We’ve gone to earth wind since we were kids and it’s never lost its magic touch. Always amazing, and the staff is great. The garlic cheese bread and pepperoni & sausage pizza is our main go-to, & the mozzarella marinara is amazing. Huge salads and pasta portions. You can’t go wrong here.

Google
Went during lunch time and was pleased with their overall menu. Went for the half sandwich and soup of the day which was Clam Chowder. Their garlic cheese bread was absolutely delicious. If I am in the neighborhood again wouldn't mind stopping by and trying something else on their menu.

Google
Had such an amazing experience at this delicious Italian restaurant! Our server Jax was super friendly and helpful. She offered great recommendations and was helpful and attentive. Food was delicious and street parking was easy. Can’t wait to come back and try other items on the menu! Thanks Jax and Felix!

Google
This venue has a unique take on Italian dishes. In this picture Chicken Primavera I have found it no othe - including the north end of Boston famous for the family operated Italian. It's an hour drive for me and fully satisfying, I've been a customer over 30 years.

Google
The experience was disappointing, especially the customer service, which made us feel unwelcome. We ordered pasta, but it wasn’t enjoyable, and the pizza came undercooked with large pieces of raw garlic that overpowered the flavors. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t meet our expectations, so I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Yelp
We were a large group on Xmas evening. Service was okay. Everyone liked the food. I didnt like the music and flat screens. Place was almost empty. The best for me was the biscuits [buttermilk n onion?] with whipped butter. I had the potato skins that they oddly bill as 'pizza skins.' The setting seemed no frills, dull and almost like Shakey's Pizza/Sizzler.

Yelp
Ordered a turkey club, per the menu, they left off the turkey. Fries were under cooked and flavorless. I driven past this place hundreds of times and wondered who ate here. Now I understand why I never stopped in here. Awful food.

Yelp
I always forget about this place and they have such great food! There is a reason why they're still here after all these years! This is a great place to bring the family since it's very casual dining. The service was wonderful with the things we needed for our entrees.

Yelp
What a Gem!!! The staff are amazing the food is delicious and the prices are great! To start we ordered beer battered mushrooms & potato skins . The Pizza, lasagna, chicken Alfredo, and the salads were so good! The beer was sizzling! Highly recommend this Italian restaurant. They also have a bar, that is for next visit Thank you Conor for the great service

Yelp
Came here for a Tuesday lunch and was immediately sat down, plenty of tables open! Immediately knew this place was more of a dinner and TV (watching a game) type vibe. But I loved looking at the pictures and decorations in the interior during the day (especially the signed cards on the ceiling). The service here really is standout, everybody was very attentive and friendly. In the beginning, you can get complimentary bread with 2 types of bread-- the garlic roll(?) with the butter was really chewy and fluffy! We ordered the pesto pasta with an addition of chicken, and the vegetable pizza. The pesto sauce was a bit thin and could've used a little more flavor, but I did appreciate that it was light. The pizza was great, I think vegetable was a good choice since it had plenty of toppings. The pizza was a little soggy but again, I appreciate that it wasn't heavy. It felt a little closer to some of the pizzas I've had in Italy (not so Americanized/ less strong flavor), which may or may not fit your preferences. The food is a little pricey too. Overall I don't think the food was standout, but I had a good experience overall. Just to note, there's parking in the back which is great to know before parking on the street!

Yelp
All around amazing place! Food is incredible and a great value. I had the chicken parm sub sandwich pictured here. One of the best ever. I'm a big dude and it was 2 meals for me! Even the fruit salad was perfectly ripe. Typically places serve fruit that's not ripe. It's the little things. Great low-lit family style place and a dozen TV's so great for sports!!! Dennis the owner is awesome. Roger and Lucy too. They've been open 43 years and his employees have been here for decades. That says a lot!! Awesome, friendly and fast service.

Yelp
I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all, the service was great and everyone was nice. The food unfortunately was not. It's very mediocre and everything tasted like it was frozen/microwavable food. I will not be coming back. I think they need to upgrade their menu and just add more favorable food. I hate writing bad reviews but I was very disappointed.

Yelp
I tried placing an order via Uber delivery. No confirmation sent to me. I called the restaurant directly. The woman who answered the phone was extremely helpful and took time to help me. It's a landmark in Santa Monica. Thank you Earth, wind and Flour. You're a stand up restaurant!!

Shiva N.

Yelp
Zero star! The worst experience of my life. The Alfredo pasta was uncooked and tasted like rotten egg. But the real problem was their very rude waitress and manager. It was my friend's birthday and they ruined the night for us.
google avatar

Emilia F.

Yelp
It's honestly a really good pizza! You can't go wrong. As far as the rest of the food I can't not order the pizza so I couldn't give an opinion on the rest of their menu. But if you want a good Boston style pizza, I highly recommend! They are homemade ranch on the side is really really good too!

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for happy hour while out on a walk. They offered margaritas for $6 on HH. We were pleasantly surprised to be given a complimentary bread basket upon arrival. They had football on and we enjoyed watching the game over drinks. Didn't get to try the food but it looked good! The service was good and the ambiance wasn't bad. We enjoyed the time spent.

Yelp
It was my 1st time here. It's a cool place there are 3 different places to sit the main dining room the bar area or outside on a covered patio. I had a groupon and I came during the happy hour. So my wine and my salad were pretty inexpensive. I got chicken parmesan, the larger one so I could take some home and it was delicious. And I took a lot of it home! The chopped salad was good. One need for improvement: The rolls felt and tasted a little bit old. They need to improve on those. The coffee was good and they have real half-and-half. The lemon bar was good it was very sweet like most of them are. The whipped cream was a pretty touch. They also didn't give me any hassle about using my groupon and the young woman that served me was very nice and everybody was attentive. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance whether you're here for a family dinner or dinner before you head out for bars in Santa Monica! Great service too!

Yelp
Just got a marketing *text* from them that I did not opt into. No one-click opt out. No "STOP to cancel". When I tried to go through the opt-out process, the final button to complete the opt out wouldn't execute. Pretty sure elements of this are actually illegal. Regardless, it's unbelievably annoying.

Yelp
Been looking for a certain type of pizza crust since I moved to California and so far Earth Wind & Flour has the best pizza in town - love their crust!!!
google avatar

Yelp
I had a very disappointing experience with Earth Wind and Flour. I placed a takeout order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived on time, I ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes to get my food. And the place was completely empty. This kind of delay is unacceptable and shows a lack of respect for their customers' time. I won't be ordering from here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Let's start with the simple stuff: the food here is terrible. That they would ask you how you want your burger cooked (I asked for medium-rare) when they use pre-cooked patties and they all come out a grey, leathery well done, is just the beginning of this little nightmare. The salad on the burger is a one-inch thick piece of iceberg that guarantees you won't be able to get your mouth around the assembled sandwich. The fries were a floppy white underdone mess and when I asked them to fry them again, they came back a nominally more cooked floppy white mess. Their salads are made with iceberg lettuce, nasty processed (i.e. bought already made) croutons, and pale tomatoes. The balsamic dressing tasted like battery acid and was clearly bought-in-a-barrel. Despite the catchy name for the place, their pizzas are like cardboard and everything in and on them is of the worst-pizza-you've-had variety. Now I really wouldn't mind all of this (and might have given them three stars just for being open) if it weren't for the fact that you are spending $24 on that burger and fries ($16 for the burger and another $8 for the fries) and $25 for the 14" pizza. Food costs have gone up, staffing costs more, I get it. But in exchange, you go through the effort of making food that is actually edible. Frying and assembling a burger from scratch just isn't that hard. And you are a pizza joint, so why not make an acceptable pizza. Or conversely, charge 40% less for everything and we are back to those three stars mentioned above. The service at least is decent.

Yelp
I've been coming here since the early 80's. This place has had the likes of Magic Johnson and other famous people coming in. It's wonderful to still go here from time to time to eat the great Italian food here. It's a long drive for us now but if we're in the area, we go. I've always loved the Italian sausage pizza and chicken primavera. I wish they still had the spinach fettuccine but it's hard to find anywhere. The owner Dennis and Leo who's been working there since way back when are great guys.

Yelp
Loved this place back in the day and love it now!! Definitely nostalgic for me. I'm so happy to see that this place made it through the pandemic and I hope it stays around for years to come. I LOVE their bbq chicken house salad! Pizza and other menu items are awesome. Great servers and love the atmosphere. Earth, Wind & Flour is a true Los Angeles institution!!

Robert C.

Yelp
Still here! Delicious, fun, reliable restaurant. Great meals! Soups, Sandwiches pastas entree and aHappy Hour Specials. Bar still reminds me being like the friends at CHEARS on TV. Good crowd and not clickie at all. Many TV screens. Three main rooms! Outside dining! Great service. Wish I could get here more often! Some time Lunch to go! Often dinner in.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to watch sports or just eat with friends. One of the few Italian places that make their chicken parm sub right! Always very accommodating staff to our group great service!

Yelp
I have been passing by this restaurant for years but had only visited it once long ago! Until tonight! We were out to eat but had not picked a place. As we drove by, I saw their "outside seating" area and decided to go there. I ordered BEER BATTERED MUSHROOM as appetizer and Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken as the main course. The mushroom were GREAAAAT and the fettuccine was ok. BTW, the staff were cordial and hospitable, the prices reasonable, the outside seating pleasant and the mushrooms GREAT.

Yelp
$33 for spaghetti with two meatballs and a piece of carrot cake is an additional 10 food is good but $50 for one person to eat

Yelp
Earth Wind & Flour has been part of the Santa Monica community for over two decades. I've been here twice. The first was to catch up with an old friend. We enjoyed dining outdoors and a great glass of house red. More recently I went with my husband and our eight-year-old son. This time we ate indoors. The vibe is very homey. They have a full-bar and several sections of the restaurant. We wound up sitting in a booth and could not stop looking at the signed cards on the wall. We ordered the cobb salad, a GF pasta and an item off the menu. The portions were generous and the table service was excellent. I haven't decided whether this is a place that could withstand a group dinner with some other families of 2nd graders (could they really handle the chaos?) However, the restaurant did graciously donate several pizzas to the McKinley Elementary PTA's recent Staff Appreciation Week and they were a total hit.

Yelp
Sad to leave this review since everyone was so friendly and we had amazing service, but the food was not so great. The alfredo was very bland and my friend took two, maybe three, bites out of her sandwich. Plus it was $5 to add shrimp to the horrible pasta. Sad face :(

Yelp
Free parking in the back, enter through alley. Outside dining available. They set up tables in the parking lot. Service is ok. House rolls offered. The minestrone is very good. I like the high tech pizza. The lasagna was ok. We've thrown parties using their food and pretty much all their pizzas are good. Thin and tasty. Doesn't feel carbs. Their pastas are ok only.
google avatar

Amateo S.

Yelp
I enjoyed their drink specials and their menu selection is varied for everyone. The service was prompt and they treated our large group well even as we paid with separate checks.

Yelp
We found Earth, Wind & Flour via Yelp as we needed to carb load for the LA Marathon the following morning..serendipity af.. Service & Ambiance: We walked in with no reservation for an early dinner at 5 PM and were seated immediately. The servers took our orders quickly and soon a basket of hot dinner rolls and bread was at the table. The kitchen was ultra fast with getting our dishes to the table. Great service all around. The decor had an old school Italian resto feel and you can see the age. On the ceiling were stapled playing cards with notes written by customers over the decades. The dining area overall was pleasant and definitely clean. Cuisine: The BJJ BFF has the veggie primavera pasta and he enjoyed it. The veggies were fresh and the pasta was tasty and generous in serving. I kept it old school and went with the spaghetti, red meat sauce with a meatballs and it was yum. Great sauce and the pasta was prepped perfectly. My dish also was a generous serving. Overall this mom & pop Italian restaurant is a place I'd visit again if I'm in the area. This is absolutely my first choice for carb loading for the LA marathon as the dishes were high quality and did not mess with my stomach in any way the night before race day. Enjoy!

Yelp
Very Mediocre. Best item is probably some of the salads but the pastas are all a joke .... Very disappointed for a first time ... nicely located but needs to be way better
google avatar

Fern D.

Yelp
My neighborhood go-to for eggplant parm! And they'll do it with the cream sauce if you ask for which I always do! Decent sized portions here. Good for families too. Hey, look, it's nothing fancy, and if you're looking for that, go elsewhere cuz there are tons of places around here for that. The restaurant itself has a nice, homey, neighborhood feel. It's been around for years.

Willem H.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this place! Dennis, the owner, is one super cool cat. Service is excellent, employees are extremely friendly and attentive. Food is very good and well priced. Salads are always very fresh. The pizzas are made from scratch and definitely taste like it! EWF is also a great place to watch sports. They opened up their back room and have a ton of tv's now. Can't wait to visit again... see you soon Dennis!
google avatar

Marco R.

Yelp
The best place in the area to watch a sports game now! They just added more TVs! The food is GREAT , and the drinks are always on the spot. Always friendly people & Fans of the sports. The service is awesome!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Miriam S.

Yelp
There's a separate bar area off the restaurant side with TVs showing sports games that looked like a good atmosphere. The restaurant side has a regular diner feel, although the hundreds of cards stuck to the ceiling with chewing gum might be an appetite-killer for some(or cool decor to others). Free bread is offered when you're seated(part of a baguette, garlic knot, and Asiago knot) although it's pretty meh. The ultra thin spinach flatbread appetizer was GREAT. The pesto pasta was extremely bland for some reason. Great service and great prices.
google avatar

T Ray C.

Yelp
Been going here for years as it's a convenient location, and I highly recommend. It has a very nice atmosphere with outdoor dining as well. The menu has a lot of variety and the food is great. I especially like the garlic bread that they serve before the meals as well as the chicken ravioli. Also, the staff is very friendly.

Michele V.

Yelp
Last night I ordered some items for dinner. Among them a spinach salad that had no avocado and the bread which was stale. Ok that was not happy and very disappointing but not the biggest deal. What did make matters worse... I just called the restaurant to inform them and the owner DENNIS who answered the phone was completely flippant! I will not go to the restaurant anymore because of this. He did not even apologize! Not even after I said to him that he did not apologize! He asked me to suggest what I wanted rather than offer me something. I suggested many things and he still insisted on asking me what I wanted as if I made no suggestions. He was rude and disrespectful and pompous! I have been coming to this restaurant for decades. So yes he is replacing the salad but I still have to go out of my way to pick it up. Again no apologies. It's just basic human courtesy and he completely lacks it! It is not the first time the restaurant has made mistakes with our order!
google avatar

Evelin H.

Yelp
Uhhhh man this place was so upsetting. The service was good but the dish I got was terrible. Chicken primavera really is only, boiled noodles with steamed vegetables. No flavor, just bland. I couldn't stomach to finish it. I'm so sad
google avatar

London A.

Yelp
Food was decent but nothing special. Very nice staff and they even sang my mom happy birthday. Bread was amazing
google avatar

Rebecca R.

Yelp
This place is so disgusting that I literally walked into an entire medical office sick from this restaurant's takeout. The Dr was so sick that he had to leave the room to throw up. He told me that they ordered the chicken with red sauce. I told him he should complain, but he's too nice, and he works so close at St John's, so I told him I'd leave a Yelp review for him. There, I said it
google avatar

Deborah C.

Yelp
We sat in the dining room away from the noisy bar but watched a parade of sketch looking barflies mosey their way back and forth to the restrooms. Food was very so so. Lackluster salad and floppy crust pizza. My dining partner said his margarita was good. Server was not attentive. Place looks pretty tired. We won't be back
google avatar

Yelp
Kinda bummed coming back here after a couple of years. Seems like the food quality has changed, but unfortunately in a bad way. We were one of three tables in the restaurant at around noon on a Sunday. They used to have this really good home made bread that they brought out in different flavors. Now they had one type that was home made, but kinda burned, and then some cold store-bought sourdough rolls. We ordered the garlic cheese bread which is essentially a French roll, butter, garlic, and then cheese melted on top. Now, I know, that's exactly what it's described as on the menu, but I'm still confused as to how they melted the cheese on top and didn't even warm the bread. No other flavor. Chicken parm sub was chicken fingers with some marinara and melted cheese, and then oddly again, bread that wasn't even toasted. We were sitting in the main dining room, but the staff seemed to be hanging out together in the bar area which is on the other side of the restaurant, so at times service was a little slow, waiting for someone to come back into the main room. I work in the area, and used to come here for lunch, so I can share the food used to be better than what they have now. Not sure what happened.

Yelp
Nothing to it but to do it lets get to it!! Parking * There is a small designated parking but it's Santa Monica what do you expect. However they do offer valet not sure of the price. Decor*Ahhhh it can use a update Service* Upon entering in the parking lot we were greeted by the valet attendant whom also opened the door and welcomed us. Once in we were greet by and older gentleman which I'm sure was the owner Dennis. We were asked where we'd like to sit and seated immediately in the bar area at a booth. Right away a waitress came over greeting us and bringing extra place mats. Bread and drink were brought out fast as well.Everyone has a smiling face here. * Food- All of our food came out at the same time. Again efficient service! The food was good from flavor, portion and price. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo with Angel hair pasta. My co-workers ordered the Marinara pasta and Black Bean Quinoa salad. I would say you can share the portions. overall i would revisit this establishment again. Everyone is extremely nice and attentive. You can tell that they take pride in providing a pleasurable experience for their customers. See you soon!

Yelp
A hidden gem! This family owned restaurant made me feel at home with its kind staff and generous portions! It wasn't busy, and we sat in their outdoor patio area which has a lot of seating. The bread is free (2 garlic breads, 2 plain rolls with butter). We each got pasta - eggplant parmesan and lasagna - and we added a side salad for ~$4.50. The side salads were HUGE! Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Truly necessary comfort food. We had enough leftovers for another meal, and they gave us boxes for everything and a bag to carry it home. We couldn't resist the dessert menu, and our waitress recommended the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake and the tiramisu. The pumpkin cheesecake was better than a PSL (and I love PSLs), and the tiramisu was out of this world! If I just came for dessert I would be happy. The best part is that it is so affordable - our entrees were ~$15. Desserts were ~$7. It's hard to find a place in LA where you can find good food at a reasonable price, and where else do you get free bread in this town?! Will definitely be coming back. I'm looking forward to trying their subs and visiting during their happy hour from 3-7 PM. Thank you EWF!!

Yelp
Not a Regular... but have been there several times. The shrimp Alfredo is our favorite and antipasto salad. Family style portions are a plus. The Hawaiian pizza was not a success not horrible but not our flavor...Seemed bland. Servers were nice and quick.

Pamela M.

Yelp
Really good thin crust wheat pizza. Love the salads. And the pasta with sausage is yummy too. Service is good, and nice atmosphere. You can actually hear each other when you talk. I don't like noisy restaurants
google avatar

Yelp
Best spot in Santa Monica! I've been coming here for years and Dennis & his people never disappoint
google avatar

Vijay R.

Yelp
The pizza here has a similar look to a deep dish pizza, but it is not as breads as a deep dish. You get supreme amount of flavors. We tried the pasta primavera, and that was just okay. I am sure they are more known for pizzas here, but we had more money to try stuff with a Groupon.

Yelp

Yelp
This is a really nice place to sit outside. I know the restaurant well from the "inside" pre-Covid days but I like it better in the fresh SaMo air. We had a simple but tasty lunch, we both had the special that comes with soup or salad. My minestrone soup was delicious and full of veggies. Friend's Caesar salad was tasty and a good portion. We both had 1/2 sandwiches. Good bread and butter, too! Their ice tea is strong and delicious. Came with lots of ice and lemon as requested. Good service, safe and friendly.
