East Coast Surf School

Thank you very much Dan and Zach. You were able to handle our group and we all had such a fun morning and afternoon, this was a great teambuilding exercise. Most of us have never surfed before and I can tell you that many of us will definitely want to continue on with this sport after your instruction. See you soon, thanks again!

It was my first time ever surfing and the shop made it such an amazing experience. They called in advance to inform me that there was better day to surf than the date I originally chose and offered to change me free of charge. The workers at the shop were incredibly helpful, kind and friendly. The lesson was amazing. The instructor was incredibly observant, knowledgeable and provided constructive feedback. There were NO hidden fees. They made my first experience an amazing one. I would highly recommend!

Went surfing for the first time today through East Coast Surf School and had a fabulous time! Reagan our instructor was very kind and knowledgeable, and the rest of the staff was amazing too! Even if you don’t opt in for the lesson they have all day equipment rentals at an affordable price, I’ll definitely be back to this spot

We had an epic day! Such friendly and positive staff who took their time to teach our kids the surfing basics! The instructors were genuinely happy to see the kids succeed and the smiles on the kids faces was priceless! Awesome rates, great gear, beautiful beach and perfect waves! Thank you for making our first surfing experience so great! We will be back!

We had a truly excellent experience with East Coast Surf School, our instructors were so friendly and knowledgeable. We were a group of 8 and even though there were many of us, our instructors worked hard to make sure each of us got lots of help and attention. We had a great time continuing to surf after our instructors left us at the end of the lesson, most of us were surfing for the first time and it was the best way to get introduced to surfing in a safe and *really* fun environment.

Who would have thought Surfing in Canada would be that fun? To be really honest when I first heard about surfing in the Halifax area I was shocked that they actually had this event in Canada. I didn’t know that this was a searched out location for Surfers around the world. As we pulled up to the location I was shocked to see the size of the waves. Excitement and worry ran through my body as we started to prepare and get ready to learn to surf for the first time. Our family was greeted with warm smiles and excitement from the East Coast Surf School staff, they were beyond excited to teach us the fundamentals of surfing. Equipment was well cared for and the support on how to put on the “wetsuits” was great (even though I put mine on backwards). The staff (teachers) were incredible with my girls (both 12 years of age) getting them down on their bellies to learn to swim and get into the right position to handle a wave. They were super polite and CRAZY helpful for all steps. They took such good care of my family and kids, after 20-30 min of on land lessons we took to the water and learned how to hit the waves! It was a true experience and we would highly suggest it. My girls say it was the highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia and we would truly suggest that you try this adventure with your family, I guarantee you that you will love it, your kids will love it and enjoy the adventure. Nova Scotia is a beautiful location to visit with so many wonderful activities for families. We suggest you take the time and visit this AMAZING province and see the world they offer.

My family and i had an amazing experience with East Coast Surf School. Simple phone call to book a spot for the 5 of us. Greeted by a couple enthusiastic staff members on our arrival to the tent. Provided with wetsuits and boards that were in great condition and sized accordingly. The fun then begins as you walk over the boardwalk with your instructor to your surf location. Our instructor Jacob worked wonderfully with our daughters aged 7, 10 and 11 and my wife and I. We were provided with a great lesson built first on surf safety and technique. As you can see by the pic at the end of the hour even the young ones got up on waves!! Cant say enough great people, great gear, great location!

This was the highlight of my trip when I visited Nova Scotia! I had a personal surfing lesson taught by Charlie who taught me the safety components and basics to learning how to surf. After, we practiced in the ocean. Through his positive affirmations and knowledge, I grew to instantly love surfing! As excited as I was, I was also nervous as it was my first time surfing. The equipment like the wet suit helped me stay warm, as the water conditions were still cold. Thank you for an incredible lesson and for the offer to drive me back to my Airbnb a minute away, to make it back on time for my taxi service to pick me up. Will be back soon! We were really impressed with this surf school, these guys really know their stuff. Quality equipment, friendly and experienced instructors and a convenient location right on Lawrencetown Beach. Be sure to bring warm clothes for after, some snacks and water because there are no food services at the beach. This made a great day trip from Halifax and I would recommend it to anyone who loves beaches and the Ocean:-)
