East Coast Surf School

All I can say is WoW! I had booked my husband and son a semi private lesson for their first surfing experience! I had made the error and booked on one day but showed up the day before getting the dates mixed up. The one managing at the time (tall kind gentleman with an accent) was so helpful and flexible and was able to fit us in. The excellent service started with the young woman where I checked in and prepaid giving advice and information! Very informative. Then once the manager was able to get us a time (thank you so much again) we were shortly introduced to Georgia our instructor who surpassed any instructor ideals we may have had. My husband had a fantastic time and this learning experience with Georgia learning to surf is the highlight of our trip from Quebec! Now my son on the other had who’s only 7 could not stop smiling! Watching Georgia from the beach not only teach Logan about waves, balance and surfing but watching how aware she was when he fell off and ensuring he didn’t give up was incredible! This is an experience he is already saying is the highlight of his summer and we cannot wait to return in the future for more surf experiences! ❤️ thank you so much for this incredible experience!

My friends and I had such an amazing experience with the East Coast Surf School! None of us have surfed before and our instructor Alex did a great job at explaining and guiding us through the steps. Even though we had quite a wavy day, we still managed some success along with memories to last a lifetime! Will definitely be back again!

We had an epic day! Such friendly and positive staff who took their time to teach our kids the surfing basics! The instructors were genuinely happy to see the kids succeed and the smiles on the kids faces was priceless! Awesome rates, great gear, beautiful beach and perfect waves! Thank you for making our first surfing experience so great! We will be back!

Absolutely incredible! Our instructor (Alex) was great - super friendly, very knowledgeable, and a huge help. I knew nothing about surfing at all, and I was able to stand up on the board and have a ton of fun within the hour long lesson. Really love that you can use the wetsuits and surfboards for the entire day after your lesson! I'm 100% planning on coming back soon and renting a wetsuit and board for the day - Thank you East Coast Surf School!

I had a great time learning to surf with Sam!! He was knowledgeable, and offered constructive feedback. Plus he was friendly and outgoing and made the whole experience super special and fun. I had a morning lesson (9AM) and it turned out to be perfect waves all morning!

Had a great experience during our surfing lesson! Included wet suits, boots and boards. All staff were super friendly, answered all our questions and our instructor Miles was awesome. He had lots of patience and helped us all out, giving us tips and pointers. Thanks guys!!!

Always have a great experience. Whether it’s a lesson or rental. We are slowly and steadily creating the love of surf in our children and also their friends. The team at East Coast Surf school always makes are little groms feel welcome and at ease. Extra shout out to Marley for her amazing customer service.

We had a truly excellent experience with East Coast Surf School, our instructors were so friendly and knowledgeable. We were a group of 8 and even though there were many of us, our instructors worked hard to make sure each of us got lots of help and attention. We had a great time continuing to surf after our instructors left us at the end of the lesson, most of us were surfing for the first time and it was the best way to get introduced to surfing in a safe and *really* fun environment.

This was the highlight of my trip when I visited Nova Scotia! I had a personal surfing lesson taught by Charlie who taught me the safety components and basics to learning how to surf. After, we practiced in the ocean. Through his positive affirmations and knowledge, I grew to instantly love surfing! As excited as I was, I was also nervous as it was my first time surfing. The equipment like the wet suit helped me stay warm, as the water conditions were still cold. Thank you for an incredible lesson and for the offer to drive me back to my Airbnb a minute away, to make it back on time for my taxi service to pick me up. Will be back soon! We were really impressed with this surf school, these guys really know their stuff. Quality equipment, friendly and experienced instructors and a convenient location right on Lawrencetown Beach. Be sure to bring warm clothes for after, some snacks and water because there are no food services at the beach. This made a great day trip from Halifax and I would recommend it to anyone who loves beaches and the Ocean:-)
