Nice, clean restaurant with good service. Food is average at best. The steamed pork gyoza were freezer burnt and the dough was thick and gummy. We tried the chicken with black bean sauce and the beef with spicy hunan sauce. Good portion size. Very little difference in the sauce between the two and they should have tasted distinctly different.

Delicious Asian fusion restaurant. The Egg drop soup was incredible and the Yaki Udon noodles were even better!!! I dined in by myself and it was perfect!

The drinks were hot. We ordered pink lemonade and Thai ice tea. Both came way too much hot. Ice in Thai tea melt within a min. We had to ask for extra glass of ice and put all of it in the two drinks and still took like 10-15 min to became drinkable. And both of them had too much sugar poured and collected at the bottom of it. Lemonade particularly was so sweet with syrup and top of that grain sugar. I couldn’t even drink it. In food I tried garlic wonton which was new for me. It turn out just ok. Couldn’t taste garlic at all and was supposed to be hot but it wasn’t. They did have us chili oil when asked and which was really spicy. The red tofu curry was ok too and was just sweet with no aftertaste.

American Chineseand Japanese food but actually taste good.

This is the first time my husband and I got take out here a friend recommended this place to me so we wanted to try it and my husband and I absolutely love it the food is amazing and so good! 😋 We will definitely be coming back again and again! I give this place 5++++ stars!

Table for 8. We had good and friendly service, everything came out from the kitchen correctly and the food was delicious. We stayed a couple hours, celebrating a birthday and were not rushed at all. The restaurant does a tremendous take-out service too.

I think this is the best Chinese restaurant around. We got the chef special pepper beef and the chicken and mixed vegetables, and the pork fried rice and they were all perfect. Love this place.

We drive out of our way to go to this place. I lived in New York City for many years. NY Chinatown has some of the best I've had. That's one of the only reasons I didn't give this five stars. Still one of my favorites in the Philly suburbs. One of the only negatives I could say is their shrimp dishes use medium to smaller sized shrimps, but are labeled as jumbo shrimp. However the depth flavor is very good. The hot and sour soup is truly excellent here

ordered gen tso - not good at all... chicken not crispy, rice flavorless, thou the eggroll was good (but not great)

The food was okay. The fried rice with chicken lacked flavor and I had to add duck sauce to the dish. The rice was white rice and no sauce. The dish my husband had he was fine but nothing great. The server had no manners such as thank you and you're welcome. We hadn't been then for a very long time so we tried the restaurant again.

I've reviewed East Cuisine months ago and my opinion never changes!! I love it here! I get take out here constantly and love to eat in for their lunch specials. They are accommodating, welcoming and always do an amazing job. Highly recommend the crab Rangoons - I've never found better (and I try many places!!). There's a reason I've been coming here for several years !

General Tso lunch special was good. Surprisingly a bit spicy. The wonton soup is good also.

The sushi was great, the love boat could serve 2. And the bomba is my faaaaavorite ever. Soooo amazing for an Asian restaurant. I go there for the ice cream bomba alone.

I ordered the Thai Spicy Basil Style Chicken recommended by our waiter and I'm so glad he did. It was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Flavorful and mildly spicy. Friendly and prompt service. I'll come back next time I'm in town.

This is my "go to" restaurant for Chinese food. I like that they have vegetarian selections. I do not eat sushi but I have heard theirs is very good.

Nice little location in a small shopping complex. I came here for a late lunch after a busy day and they served me two wonderful lunch delights (vegan style)...bean curd with vegetables was delicious... vegan (beef texture) with broccoli was also good but slightly salty.. Highly recommend this place for lunch as it was peaceful and relaxing. I'm sure a lot of people come here for dinner..

High quality and tasty food. No canned veggies in the fried rice, fresh cut veggies and great taste.

A great little Asian cuisine restaurants around Ambler area. The restaurant itself is pretty average size. My first impression was there fish tank. It's very beautiful, salt water as you can tell. There are three fishes in there represented them from the movie "Finding Nemo". Very creative attraction for children. I went in to grab a quick lunch and have to take out some sushi for my friend party. The service are pretty good got my water right after I got seated. I was flipping through the menu one thing that caught my attention was "Yaki Udon" I know not much Asian restaurants have that in the suburb side from the city. I got that of course. I got my food quickly and it tasted Delicious. My shrimp Yaki Udon is stir fried perfectly well done. The whole surrounding area smell like my dish. I order a bunch of sushi Togo for my friend party. Let's just say there sushi are made really fresh and it taste good. There are also couple of dishes I wanna try next time when I stop by.

one star. Sorry but this Asian food restaurant has lost our family's business. We put up with the rude staff and all the " sorry we forgot " excuses but the kicker was finding rodent droppings stuck to the inside top of a lid. This was after a bout of stomach illness that affected two of us. I went online and found reports of failed sanitary tests and positive rodent droppings from MONTCO health dept. I think the county should do a better job of reporting health department reports. Do some online digging and check!

I used to love this restaurant! There for used to be hot and fresh, the staff was kind and welcoming. I am a frequent user .The last 3 times I have gone there for take out there has been a problem with the order and when I called back to tell the, the you d women was rude and blamed me for her mistake. The first time I let it go after 3 times NO WAY! Also the food was not fresh and the dumplings were more than chewy. As I was paying I was checking the bag to make sure all,my order was there and she told me to leave and hurry people waiting . Again I called to let her know all of my order was not here and she said " your fault " I am the through with them, NO MORE

I got chicken katsu bento box for my lunch. It was awesome. My lunch came with ginger salad and miso soup. I like their ginger dressing and shu mai so much. The service was fast and excellent. I will be back soon! I was here couple weeks ago! Now I am back for Chirashi. Everything tastes fresh especially salmon. The sushi chef is so professional. It is good to enjoy chef doing the work while eating.

Was craving sushi and decided to try this place out for lunch. The sushi was delicious and looked very fresh. The pad thai was also good. Portions were large for lunch. The main entrees came with a salad and soup. It was enough food for a few meals. The person at the register also noticed that I didn't originally have my salad, and I appreciated that kind of service.

Only doing take out during COVID. Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon for some rolls. Quick service and food was good. Hard to tell how the service would be different with dine-in.

After eating here a few more times, I have to update this to 5 stars. The main reason: hands down the best shrimp tempura roll I've ever had. The tempura was fresh, hot and crunchy and the roll was full of flavor. It was amazing! My other reason for a 5 star rating is the vegetarian chinese food. I didn't think I could get vegetarian chinese food like this in the burbs. The veggie chicken with broccoli I had was awesome. I'll definitely be back for more!

Yikes! I wrote a stellar review 8 months ago. Did this place sell again?? Quality surely was lacking on our recent dinner. We noticed it the last few times and guess what...3 strikes and you are out. My Husband couldn't even eat his beef with peppers. It was chewy and absolutely horrible. This use to be the most tender cut of beef and his favorite. Our waitress was dumbfounded when he showed her. (She didn't even say a word either). She took the platter away without him eating it and still charged for the dish. Really? She sees us here regularly and we have never complained before. The egg rolls use to be plump and crispy. Soggy and scrawny now. The last few times we were the only ones in the restaurant...I guess the word is out. So sad because we loved this place. It saddens me to write this review.

Had shrimp spring rolls, vegetable fried rice and orange beef. While it's not super authentic Chinese food, I'm not sure anything in the suburbs is. The flavor was great. The orange beef was crunchy and had good flavor - could have used a little more heat. Vegetarian fried rice was exactly what I expected and we enjoyed it all! Will go back and try more options!

Mediocre food! I was so mad at myself for ordering from here. If you are looking for tasty & somewhat authentic Thai food, please don't order from here. I can't comment on other things but I got the pad Thai, drunken noodles & shrimp rolls. I wish I hadn't ordered from here.

East Cuisine's Chinese food is pretty good but I usually get sushi when I dine at East. The owners are extremely nice and always treat us well. They almost always gave us a free sashimi app and sake. My opinion of East's sushi has gone done drastically in the past few years. This was one of my favorite Sushi spots but after becoming a regular at Umai, East just doesn't compare. The rolls at East are very small even though they give you several pieces. The flavors are mediocre and I haven't ordered anything that impressed me in quite some time. On my most recent trip our waiter couldn't get our (8) roll (2) sushi order correct and the owner had to come over to verify it. We always write our order down so we just showed it to her and she made the necessary corrections. The owners at East are so nice I do feel bad only giving them 2 stars. My review is based on the sushi. Overall East is probably better than 2 stars but since I don't get their Chinese dishes I can't base my review on it.

We ordered the salt/baked squid, moo shoo pork and the teriyaki chicken for our main entrees. I started off with the hot and sour soup. It was a solid soup, so I was optimistic about the meal to come. The salted baked squid was good. I wish it were just a little more salted, but when I added the hot chili sauce, it was very nice. The moo shoo pork was generous in its portion and tasted good. My son had the teriyaki chicken and he liked it. I found the teriyaki sauce to be very thin and I also thought the chicken was overcooked. We didn't have the sushi, but I saw a take-out order sitting there and it looked pretty fresh. But when I eat sushi/sashimi, I eat in a sushi/sashimi restaurant. I will definitely be going back to have dinner here again when I'm going out locally for Chinese food. I would rank this a 3.5 star place and will revise my rating the next time I go.

I'm wary of restaurants that try to serve multiple East Asian cuisines. I've usually found that such places don't do any of them well. I tried East Cuisine tonight, though, and it proved itself to be an exception. I ordered from the Thai section of the menu and all of the food was very good. The serving sizes were generous. There were plenty of fresh, crisp vegetables and they did not skimp on the protein, either. The red curry was flavorful and had a nice spiciness to it. I haven't had a summer roll as good as theirs in awhile. I will go back again.

I am always a big fan of Asian food! I tried their Chinese food last time in my brother's house for the sesame chicken and chicken broccoli. They were so crispy and soft! So this time I tried their sushi rolls, Princess Maria roll, Bob's lover and Butler Pike roll for my dinner! I've got to say they have the best sushi roll in the town! Also, I really love their way of doing business during Covid-19! You should see the window setup! It's a genius' idea! They are really thinking about how to keep everyone safe! The only thing I hope is that they can have delivery one day, lol!

I've been coming here since I was younger and while the management has changed, the food and service are consistent and solid.

I've been eating here for years and I've always had great meals. I'm very impressed with the service from the staff. Kevin, makes great sushi .

East Cuisine is one of the better Chinese takeout restaurants in the area. The food is so much better priced than Golden Sea and best of all, they have a tasty and generous General Tso's chicken lunch special for $7.25. You'll never find that at Golden Sea. I also had the boneless spare ribs but they also included some kind of battered chicken fingers which really had absolutely no taste. Avoid it. Jen L is dead on with the parking situation. It's horrendous. Extremely limited parking in a very busy strip mall located on Butler Pike. I usually find an open spot in the rear of the mall, so check back there if the front is completely full. I'm definitely adding this place to my lunch roster. Service is polite, quick and efficient. They also have a nice sit down area, but I only do take out around here. They have a considerable sized menu of both Chinese and Japanese dishes that are all reasonably priced. I look forward to exploring it all with a hungry and eager mouth.

East Cuisine gets 5 stars because of its Chinese food. I am very picky with my Chinese food, so I was pleasantly surprised when my wife, myself and two others ordered takeout from there tonight. The dumplings are great. The edamame is really good as well. Between the group, we got garlic chicken, chicken & mixed vegetables, and beef & mixed vegetables. All three were very good with quality meat (which can be questionable at many Chinese restaurants). The large portions are very large and could easily feed two people, which is great if you want some leftovers as well. Also, the egg rolls are legit, so give them a try. My wife got a spider roll from the Japanese side of the menu. It was just alright. I can't judge the entire Japanese side of the menu until I try more meals. There is limited parking, but I just went on a Saturday night and the lot was 1/4 full, so the issue must be during lunch. When I went inside to pick up my food, it looked like the restaurant was pretty clean with a small seating space. You really get your money's worth here, and if you live in the Glenside/ Ambler/ Fort Washington / Blue Bell areas, then it is worth checking out.

I went with a group of five for lunch to this place. The decor is nice and the service was decent. However, we all found the food quality to be very bland and mediocre. Their online menu is a bit out of date and hard to navigate. On most modern desktop browsers, their online takeout menu dropdown menu is hard to read because the text is is white on a white background. Furthermore the prices on their online menu are very out of date. If you go to the actual restaurant you will find that certain items have changed or are unavailable. I had the Shrimp Yaki Udon. The udon noodle dishes could use A LOT of improvement considering the price they are charging (~$12.50 base, with vegetables or pork). This tastes worse than a noodle dish slapped together on a hibachi grill at a random Chinese buffet and is definitely not worth the price. One of the members of my party was vegetarian (not vegan) and be found the vegetarian selections to be very lacking. The vegetable fried rice left a lot to be desired. It was very bland (they probably use dark soy sauce to give it the color, but not the flavor) even when he requested some hot sauce (he got Sichuan hot sauce). The second member of our party tried the General Tso's Chicken with white rice and Wonton soup, found the taste to be very mediocre and a bit dry as well. The third member of our part had the Thai Red Curry with Chicken (and Wonton soup). He too thought it was very bland and mediocre. He described it as if they slapped together some vegetables and chicken and just added curry sauce to it. They said their Wonton soup to be good, but then again, how can you possibly mess up Wonton soup? The final member of our party had some sushi. He has the some Spicy Tuna rolls (he said this was pretty good), and some Tuna and Salmon Nigiri (not the freshest, just mediocre). The overall presentation of the sushi was pretty bad (the large plate was too big for the amount of sushi he got). He felt that the rice was a bit dry and had been sitting for a while. The miso soup he got with his sushi was okay, but the side salad the actually good. Overall, it seems that this place tries is trying to cater to too many tastes (large menu, varied tastes) at the same time, but they stretch themselves too thin and fail at all of them (this have all the typical dishes of a Chinese restaurant, but not even the most basic a dishes are any good). The owners should put more work on improving the quality of their dishes than the quantity of their selection. Some of the dishes could have have been a bit cheaper ($2-3) of match their overall quality. If you're a good Chinese or Japanese place, look somewhere else. I personally left the place very disappointed. As a side note, parking in the small shopping center where the restaurant is located is very tight (especially around noon or in the evening). There is a small lot available in front and along the side of the shopping center, but they tend to fill quickly around lunch time.

I never thought I would see the day I gave East Cuisine a less than stellar review but that day has come. East Cuisine used to be my favorite chinese restaurant in the area. The chinese was great and the sushi was always fresh. Over the years the quality of the sushi went down a little bit but the chinese was still on point. But after today, I don't think I'll go back. Their fried rice used to be loaded with veggies. What happened?!? Now it just rice, with whatever meat you ordered, onions, and bean sprouts. What happened to the other veggies? Nowhere in sight. I also had the Lo mein which was also entirely different from what I used to get from then. Overall, I'm very disappointed. Especially because I feel like for the quality of food, they're overcharging. If they never changed, I would be more than happy to pay those prices. But now that they are different, it way too much money for what it is.

I've been meaning to try this place for awhile and finally ordered some takeout.. Sadly, it's the worst Pad Thai I've *ever* had (and I've tried a lot). The noodles were totally dry and completely flavorless. Such a bummer!

Hands down this is the best and most fresh chinese restaurant I know. I've never had anything bad here. The owners are extremely nice, they try to get to know all of their customers, and the quality is always excellent. They do japanese, cantonese, and thai food, so you can get all different types of "chinese" flavor. The sushi is delicious. A nice spicey crunchy tuna or a tempura shrimp roll, maybe a little tuna sashimi action. I'm getting hungry and I think I will now order take out from East Cuisine. They have a great website too.

Had ordered take out from here once previously and been severely underwhelmed. The wonton soup was mostly broth and only a handful of wontons, and the general tso's chicken was mushy and not really spicy. That was several months ago. Fast forward to last night, I ordered online using their website. After receiving confirmation that they had gotten the order I got there expecting to be able to pick up my dinner. They had no record of the order. If you're going to have an online ordering option it might be a good idea to make sure it actually works. They got a star back for offering to make the order but at that point the ship had sailed, my business will be taken elsewhere.

I see all the favorable reviews, so I'm reluctant to swim against the tide. However, I ordered the bento box lunch special, and I wasn't impressed. The meal came with miso soup and a small salad topped with some gloppy salad dressing the same color as a prison jumpsuit. I didn't touch the salad. I interpreted the international orange coloring as a warning sign. (CORRECTION: It's made with carrot. It's supposed to be orange. Ignore me.) Two spoonsful of the soup told me all I needed to know about it. Bland and watery. The bento came with long skewers of breaded shrimp, but honestly all I could taste was the cooking oil. The dumplings were mushy, with plenty of cabbage but nothing much else. The California rolls were fishy, even for sushi. I have eaten there once before. I had the pad thai, which for a suburban restaurant was pretty good. I suspect I've just tried something they don't do nearly as well.

We had dinner here the other night. The service was horrible, but the food was pretty good. We ordered from the Japanese menu. The sushi tasted good, but was not made well. It fell apart when picked up. Our server simply did not care that we were there. we had to ask for chopsticks to eat our food with about 3 times before they were brought to us. We had to keep asking for hot tea refills - I don't know why we weren't allowed to have a whole tea pot like usual... The dessert was awesome - but clearly not made there. We may return again - but we would need to put an evening aside since the service is so slow.

This was our go to Dinner spot. Food was wonderful and prices were great. I think they changed their chefs. The food has gotten greasy and just not very good. And the prices went up. We only go here occasionally now, hoping to find the food improved. No luck. But.......service is great. Owners are super nice. Atmosphere is cozy.

I had the worst dinner tonight. When I ordered house mai fun, I asked them not to put extra MSG. OMG, all I could taste was MSG!!! Salty and greasy and worst mai fun I've had in my life!!! You guys can trust my word. Why? I have professional chef experience...

Tried it out tonight with my husband as we're newly local & looking for a close sushi option. Got shu Mai (sp?)/shrimp dumplings- yum! Tender shrimp & wrapper, ok sauce. I'm pregnant (no raw for me.. :( ) so got the Angry Dragon & Dragon rolls, hubs got Eagle & shared mine. Shrimp tempura in AD was excellent - super tender & flavorful. Could've been more eel in D roll but good flavor & texture. Spicy tuna in E roll was said to be great too. Appreciated they placed raw & cooked on separate plates. Very attentive service - must've had 4 people refilling water, clearing plates, checking on us, etc. nice ambiance, good food. Will be taking the kids back in the future & trying out the Thai dishes!

We were coming in from out of town for a wedding, driving for the prior 6 hours and just looking for a bite to eat to bring back to our hotel. We are big Thai/Japanese foodies so we were happy when our searches brought us to this place. We ordered the typical - a few sushi rolls, pork dumplings, and some sashimi. Everything was pretty good, but the pork dumplings were a total fail, as they were super doughy.

This used to be my go to place. I think I even have another decent review written for them. However, they have gone down hill fast in the last few months. I got food poisoning once, let the restaurant know and they apologized. I naturally didn't order for a few months and decided to try it again. I got sick again!! Never again!! The second time I got sick, the worst part was, I ordered on Uber eats and Uber cancelled the order after I waited for 1.5 hours. Then I called the reataurant to see if I could pick it up. They said yes, so I did. The reataurant charged me the full price for the order and then I spoke with Uber custoner service to learn that the reataurant receives full price for cancelled orders. So the reataurant got paid twice for the order. Once from me and once from Uber Eats. I went out of MY way to accommodate them and I got sick in the process... NEVER AGAIN

With a quiet, lovely atmosphere and a friendly wait-staff, East Cuisine remains a favorite. My boyfriend and I are big fans off "off the beaten track" places and this was a great find. I'm a bit of a Sushi buff, and they have very fresh and yummy sushi / sashimi for comparable prices. The vegetarian menu is also fantastic (I recommended the veggie General Tso's Chicken. Holy nom) and it's one of the few places close to Ambler/ Blue Bell that's got more than 2 veggie options. (No soggy wrap filled with oily, overcooked veggies and giant bun with a portobello mushroom cap on it. You can't lose!) The menu includes Japanese, Cantonese and Chinese dishes as well as a decent amount of Thai food. The takeout is good, but I recommended eating in. Oh, and don't tap the dang fishtank!

Couple of months back east cuisine reached its down low. I was disappointed in them. I was an regular of this restaurant since high school, I've enjoyed their food up until like a half year ago. I talked to their manager about it. I told him I was disappointed. But all of a sudden, I decided to go with my girlfriend to east cuisine for dinner. And I was surprised. Me and my girlfriend was surprised by the new menu and new dishes (me and my girlfriend are from the same high school). The specialty menu "sizzling beef" was amazing. The sizzling sound made me slur all over LOL. Alright, all I wanted to say is that, this restaurant is my teenage memory and I want everyone to try it. And I believe you'll like it.

Came here today during a work break. I thought they had a nice atmosphere with fast service. I only had the sushi so I can only speak for that, but the other lunch dishes looked great too. Decent sushi and salad for me today. I would come back

Went here for impromptu sushi with date. Smaller place and fully booked yet we were seated immediately. Nice and cozy, not pretentious at all. At first a little loud and especially busy for a Sunday but everyplace in the area seemed that way on that particular night. Service was prompt, courteous and warm. They actually had beer glasses, albeit small ones, cute touch as I never saw them that small. After popping opening a few brewskies and enjoying the pickled cabbage we ordered painlessly. The sashimi sampler is FAB and worth more than listed. I mean melt in your mouth cuts. I didnt have a hot dish but what was being passed around me looked yums. This is the ONLY place i will hit for asian in this area.
