"This classic Houston bungalow houses a full bar venue surrounded by multiple patios notable for their white rock ground cover. Choose from one of four distinct seating areas, all of which are ready for you and your pup, rain or shine. Grab a bite from a rotating array of food trucks and enjoy a game on the large, single-screen outdoor television, or head to the dedicated dog park with picnic tables inside so you and your friends can share a drink while your pup enjoys making friends of his own." - Brian Gaither, Brittany Britto Garley

Update: The smell of marijuana takes over the majority of the bar and outside areas. The dog park area is filled with broken glass. The drinks are great and the staff is friendly. I love my dogs are able to play at their small dog park as well.

First time to visit, but will definitely return. Small indoor seating area, but the outside area is enormous (which is great in my opinion). Large dog park and great taco truck. Huge outdoor TV--great for watching sports. Overall, it is a great East End establishment. Make sure to check it out!

Looking for a good clean bar to relax?? This is it!! Has everything! Very nice indoor bar, outside bar to watch the game & a section for live music “salsa! Was great to dance!” or big screen!! Even has a dog section for your bestie to roam free!! Food trucks available. We really enjoyed it!! Service is great!! Not to expensive if your trying to save

EAST END BACKYARD Went to this place to watch the Astros game, great place to catch a game on nice weather days. Sitting outside plenty of TVs all around to catch a game. The bar for drinks were pretty fast and the drinks were good. If it rains there’s not a lot of room in the inside bar very tight. Also one restroom that everyone shares really big turn off, long waits and if someone goes before you and is let’s just say not clean well guess what? I would say give this place a try and see if it fits your style. Oh yea they don’t have a website just FB only.

Google
Really nice neighborhood bar with a large projector and a dog park in the back. It also has yard games like corn hole and that one with the ropes you get caught on the bars. If there’s anything I would add it’s a shelf near the dog park so you can put down multiple drinks or food to work the dog gate latches. I balanced my drinks on the fence, which was sturdy enough, but not very wide. Decent enough beer/liquor selection, and the food trucks I tried was really good. Drinks felt a little overpriced for how laidback the place was, but maybe that’s just part of trying to open a bar in 2020.

Google
Total bait and switch for world cup quarterfinal. Do not recommend coming here to watch the games. Bartender said they would show the WC game on the large outdoor screen only to switch to college football in the 60'. Refused to switch back in spite of several patrons requesting the WC. Pics attached for a sense of college vs WC interest.

Google
Cool outdoor area with plenty of seating. Drinks a little on the high side price wise. Standard craft beers on tap, but not much on the cocktails side. They have a dog park and a food truck for those interested

Quiet place to sit and relax lazy Sunday afternoon. Don’t expect food but good choice of drinks (try chocolate stout they have!). Dog friendly place, they even have a dog park on property.

Yelp
With plentiful patio seating, big screen TVs, porch swings, pergolas every which way, and a fenced in dog-run area, this establishment puts the "backyard" in East End Backyard. You'll find onsight food trucks, which tend to close at 10pm, an outdoor jumbo screen for sports, indoor and outdoor bar, an occasional art market, and nightly specials (like, Friday mic night) and events: movie nights, loteria. It's also the official UH watch party location. I'm a fan of the $8 wines, frozen bevs, and handful of unique beers on tap (I tried a strawberry mochi sour the other day).

Yelp
Loved this place in the East End and hate that they closed down recently. Great staff and good variety of entertainment and events. Hopefully something similar will be back in its location!

Roger C.

Yelp
East End was just a great place to spend an afternoon / evening with a a group of friends. Insight seating can be cozy, but there is plenty of room outside, weather permitting. Parking can be sparse, so be sure to be careful. Sitting there for 2 hours, I saw some near accidents with cars trying to squeeze in / out. Bartenders were great, tip them appropriately.

Yelp
Wide open space outside to hangout. Swings to sit on. Live band. Good place to hangout with friends and enjoy the day. There is 1 food truck available but it will be a long wait if you come when it's packed. Have a few drinks while you wait for food. Parking is hard to find on a busy day such as Cinco de Mayo when we went. We had great service with Amber. Very quick and attentive to our drinking needs!

Vlad V.

Yelp
I stopped by East End Backyard for an Astros playoff game. As you would imagine, it was pretty busy but we were still able to find spots on their spacious outdoor patio with a good view of a TV. The cold weather helped. We parked on a side street close to the bar. You order drinks inside. The indoor area is relatively small. There are a few tables and some spots by the bar but East End Backyard's name really gives it away with the backyard part. There's a ton of seating outside and multiple TVs. Some picnic-style seating and some lounge seating. There was even an area with a huge projector where they were showing the game. Last but not least, there was a Mexican food truck on the property. Drinks are your typical bar drinks with a good selection of beer, a full bar, and some craft cocktails. East End Backyard is my type of spot.

Ruth T.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed. Not happy with the bartender. I have come other times before and it's been great. The energy even on a slow day the other bartender had that energy and liveliness. I get the same drink every time and that wasn't it . I get the tipsy mermaid and this time it sucked . Nothing even close . I won't be back I'm over it .

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Cute place and very nice vibe. My only regret is not taking my dog with me. They have a dog park so feel free to take your dog child/ren with you when you go. When you're not in the park area of the backyard your pup can chill with you at your table. They have a great beer selection and cocktails. I ate beforehand so didn't get a chance to try the food but the plates I saw others walk around with looked pretty good. They also had a good live band for the night. This was the perfect place to spend my Cinco de Mayo. I felt safe as there was plenty of room to space out from other parties as the covid pandemic winds down.

Oliver B.

Yelp
Nice and spacious neighborhood bar with an enclosed dog area. Do yourself a favor and enjoy their outdoor space with a few drinks. Plenty of off-street parking. Welcome to the neighborhood East End Backyard!

Jordan B.

Yelp
To be fair, went here on a Tuesday night. Completely empty. 3 stars because it was just okay. No unique drinks. Good prices and ample seating. When I went on Tuesday there were no food trucks or anything and I was hungry. In short - could be a good place to go to during the day and during a busier time. Lots of big tables for groups and normally I think they have food trucks...just don't recommend for a weeknight.

Brandon J.

Yelp
Nice, chill place with good craft beer on tap. The bartender Sol was cool and helpful. Badass taco truck in the back too!

Valerie Z.

Yelp
East End Backyard was the PERFECT place to watch the Astros game! They have a full bar, a taco truck, a small dog park, plenty of seating and swings! Loved it!

Victor E.

Yelp
Super clean spot , seating was great , super spacious , the women who helped up actually there was 2 ladies who helped us . Really great with attention to detail , kept the flow of business rolling , beers were cold ! Thank y'all for this great experience I definitely will be back ! P.s this place is dog friendly and that's awesome ! Thanks y'all !

Yelp
I met friends here on a Saturday evening, before the Pride parade around 7:00pm. This place has a nice vibe, spacious outdoor seating, many with shade, decent music, and reasonably priced drinks/beer. I had read other reviews that talked about price changes or increases when closing out tabs, so I opted to pay cash. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. We had a nice time. Three things to mention: only street parking available, the inside bar is small, so if u need to step inside to cool off, be prepared to stand, and lastly, it was rather empty for a Saturday night in EADO, it has great potential to be a hot spot, but a small, limited crowd felt kind of dead outside.

Liz N.

Yelp
Came here during happy hour and their special is 50% off beers, wines, and wells. Wanted to come check out the space and it's definitely bigger than what it appears on the outside. There's a ton of patio space in addition to some space inside. I saw a couple of tables bring in their own food while enjoying some drinks. It's a chill place to come with a group of friends. Service was great and employees were friendly. Parking is on the street only.

Todd C.

Yelp
Friendly staff and awesome dog friendly environment! Thanks Jim and Ashley for a splendid afternoon!

Erin Y.

Yelp
Super chill outdoor beer garden that is perfect for social distancing and trying to be COVID-conscious. My friends came on a Saturday night and it wasn't packed. Bartenders were nice and chill, but you might need to flag someone down to clear tables. There are 3 large television screens in the middle of the garden to watch games. There is also corn hole to keep your group entertained. Parking was only street parallel parking, but we didn't have issues finding any. Overall, solid outdoor spot that I would feel comfortable hanging out at given the COVID-era. Only thing is that I didn't see any heat lamps so I'm not sure how comfortable it will be once Houston decides to have winter.

Leanne E.

Yelp
I can't speak for pricing because I didn't pay but I had an amazing time. I had a Crawford Bock on draft and two glasses of wine. Not a good combination in hindsight. I met Kay, she's one of the bartenders, and she was absolutely awesome! It started to rain so my friend and I went inside and she was so kind to us. She wasn't even on the clock anymore but she brought us towels to dry off. Outside there was a food truck, can't remember which one. I love the outdoor and indoor atmosphere. I'd definitely go back especially if Kay is there!

Andrew V.

Yelp
First dog birthday party Great outdoor vibe and drink selection Dog run is big for everyone to let their pets loose

Claudia M.

Yelp
This is a HUGE backyard bar. Perfect for watching sports games or hanging out with friends on a nice night. The bartenders are kind and upbeat, and the whole vibe is casual. I love the swings at the front. The drinks aren't bad! I'll definitely be going again.

Heather M.

Yelp
Cool hang out place one food truck but huge patio seating. Very causal and ladies be careful with your shoe choices lots of rocks

Abraham G.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place, great open space, tons of TVs and a huge projector screen in the back to catch games! Food truck on site and indoor and outdoor bars, very pet friendly. Drink specials are great, highly recommend this place for a little catching up or catch a good game!

Benjamin M.

Yelp
First time there with my nephew. They tried to cheat him on entrance fee, not cool. The crowd, otherwise, good. Would not recommend if you believe most people are honest.

Natasha K.

Yelp
Stopped at this new place for a margarita. Decided to have a beer afterwards. I got one for me and my bf but he didn't like it. We asked kindly if he could get something else and the guy at the bar said no. The patio is gigantic with lost of space and lots of dogs. It's very dog friendly. Lots of pups with a doggy park in the back. They have great drinks and beer with a few good trucks for a snack. This place will be bomb when the weather cools

Lizette I.

Yelp
Great new spot, specially if you're looking for a place where you can social distance. The patio is huge, and has an enclosed area where pups can play. They also have a food truck within the patio, which was a nice touch. The only issue I had with the place was that their cocktails were just okay... their beer selection makes up for it though. I'll be coming back for sure.

Monica B.

Yelp
Just moved to the area! Stumbled upon this little gem on an awesomely cool Tuesday night!$2 Taco Tuesday!! $2.50 16oz Modelo. I had a delicious Crawford Bock! Atmosphere is so chill. Good music, and bring the pups! They have a dog park. Several spots to lounge and chill with your love or your buddies! I'll def be back! Catch me here and tacos on me! There's also another food truck here today called Coffee-Q. We ordered elote and a brisket panini! It was the bomb! Come visit! It's so Houston!!

Rosalind C.

Yelp
I mean can you really go wrong with out door seating and beer? This place is a duck off but i like that. They have a bar inside and out plus waitresses taking orders. The seating is spaced out with a food truck just in case you get hungry. This is a good place for groups and if you and a friend want to have a drink and chat. Good selection of beer and liquor also.. It is fairly new but they are definitely on the right track.

Blake R.

Yelp
A friend of mine was physically attacked here and had a pen pushed up against his jugular, as if he was about to be murdered on the spot. The owner/staff didn't even remove the person who did it. Do not come here if you want to have a safe outing with your friends and family. They don't have security and won't even come to your aid when a person literally tries to kill you. Unacceptable.

Tramanh H.

Yelp
Live down the street and LOVE this new neighborhood watering hole. Their service is fantastic and they have a great selection of draft beers. Shout out to Stan and Soul, just the coolest, most down to earth, awesome bartenders!!! We love you guys! They're such good people. We're happy to call this place our favorite new bar in town. P.S. if you go on a Monday night, prepare for a good time and some totally consensual nip slips from the other patrons.

Tim V.

Yelp
In short, plenty of good adult beverages, service is top notch, pet friendly, mgmt goes out of it's way to treat Dodgers fans who are just visiting(my son) , and a taco bus that is Puro Mexicano. Also, can't forget the "Pop Ups". Bring a DD.

Linh N.

Yelp
Wow! I really liked this charming, casual and local new hotspot! What's best is their service! Stan and Soul are rocking it! -From a fellow East Ender, cheers!

Mario C.

Yelp
It's an ok place. It's empty and roomy outside, people with dogs etc but like no music and the vibe kinda not happening. They also don't have Guinness. What bar doesn't have Guinness??

Stephanie G.

Yelp
This is great neighborhood bar to stop into, its a relaxed environment with nice outdoor seating. However, we were just turned away and it's 3:14. hours state bar opens at 3 and we were told that they didn't open until 4. Last week my fiancé came in and the bartender was walking in as they were walking in so idk if there's some disconnect with the opening hours. It would be nice if they updated the hours so others may avoid confusion in the future.

Peyton M.

Yelp
Great spot on the weekends and some of the best HH specials during the week. Huge outdoor space with a massive dog park and a stage. Rotating food trucks, pop-up kitchens, and other vendors. Easily one of my favorite bars in the area.

Julea B.

Yelp
I don't know about this place. It's like it has promise but it's not quite there yet. It's really cool that they have a fenced off area for dogs but the bar service is super slow. Today I saw 12 people waiting in line for a drink and it wasn't even peak time. I tried to get a drink at my table but the server completely ignored my group. When I asked her why she was ignoring us she was even more rude and didn't offer to remedy the situation. Also there is only one bathroom. One bathroom. So maybe one day this place will be great but it's not quite there yet.

Mayra C.

Yelp
My new favorite bar! The outside area is cozy and just the type of place you want to hang out with friends on a clear Sunday afternoon. There's food trucks almost every day (weather permitting) and the drinks are amazing! There's also always something happening on weekends, which makes coming here so much fun! 10/10 would recommend this spot!

Mia P.

Yelp
Super cute bar! It's mainly outside and extremely spacious. Had a good time there definitely plan to go back.

Chris D.

Yelp
Great place for drinks and even better for drinks with the pups! Tacos are top notch when they are available as well

Danyel H.

Yelp
Came here on a whim...simply because I drove by. The bartenders were friendly, the beer list had a good variety in my onion. The weather + the service that I received = happiness. Although the venue is not busy currently, I hope that when things DO pick up, the service remains as strong as it currently is for this opening. I will be returning.

Traci J.

Yelp
I love this new place! The dog park was a big draw for me. I love taking my pups on outings and this was the perfect spot. The drink prices are very reasonable and the staff is amazing! Can't wait to come back and try Sol's specialty cocktails.

Gia B.

Yelp
Love this place!! There is lots of outdoor seating and it has a nice vibe. This is an upscale casual hangout that is dog friendly. Nice staff and good drinks. Perfect spot to enjoy the nice weather.

Alvin G.

Yelp
Awesome place with great outdoor space to socially distance. My dog loved running around the huge dog park and I enjoyed a beer while she played. The outdoor bathrooms were great especially since I was alone with my dog. Will definitely be back many times!

Adam Y.

Yelp
Okay place to catch a drink and listen to music. The food truck Cajon Po-Boy has horrible service.

Ara J.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Loved the food truck and the large outdoor seating. Was able to take my pup and she had a great time!

Lauren G.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this bar because of the enclosed dog patio area, but they're doing a deceitfully weird thing with pricing that has left just such a bad taste in my mouth that I don't think I'll go back. I asked the bar tender how much a double vodka soda would be and she rang it up and told me $9, so I ordered it and a couple more beers through-out the night. When I went to pay my tab, I watched her hit a button and my $25 tab turned into $54! She then explained to me that the drinks were actually $18 and that she had only quoted me the half-off price so they could charge me the other 9$ to comply with the Covid restrictions around being a restaurant. I am well aware of the restrictions but I've never seen any of the other bars I've visited during the pandemic handle it in such a shady way.

Laura M.

Yelp
I'm afraid I agree with Caius S. They way they are operating is extremely shady and I hope they change it......ASAP. I ordered a double vodka and soda. It rang up as $9 on the screen - so I had a few more. When I closed out, the price jumped up to $18 per drink. I even checked with the bartender what the price of the drink was before I ordered a second and she said $9. The same goes for beers, wine, cocktails - the prices all doubled when it came til closeout. There was an Astros game on and the venue was very busy. There were not enough staff and the staff that were there were slow and seemed a bit confused. I'm sure it was not pleasant for them to be asked constantly about why the bar tab was double what it should have been. Just feels like they are tricking people. The space is great and has a food truck but I won't be back until this gets resolved. Go to East End Hardware, Moon Tower, Voodoo Queen, How to Survive at Land and Sea or Sigma Brewing.

Caius S.

Yelp
Do NOT go to this place. Just opened up this week and they are already trying to circumvent the 51% food sales laws. Went to go close my tab after having a beer last night with my girlfriend at this "neighborhood spot", they rang up my two beers for $8 and then tried to ring up $8 for food. I got them to take it off but they just kept telling me "I didn't get it". Still tipped them and then left. It's a shame that some small businesses are having to close while others choose to do shady things like this. They are trying to come across as a neighborhood spot but it's actually just another bar owned by the owner of Pitch 25 with a public investment page through nextseed... if you are an EaDo resident SKIP THIS PLACE go spend your money at East End Hardware or one of our other neighborhood spots like Moon Tower.

Malcolm S.

Yelp
EEBY concept is next level! Integrated lounge/beer garden/dogpark!! Dogpark has its own customer seating as well which i hadn't seen before... I'm a bourbon guy and the caveat was Bartender Kay makes a PROPER old-fashioned... food truck serving up quality menu variety incl vegan... music nice mix

Lizette S.

Yelp
The bartender we had last Saturday was awesome. She helped answer any questions when were stuck on what we wanted to try. Will be going next date night

Rosie S.

Yelp
We went on October 10th enjoyed it so much, took family back on the 17th of October. Both times were fabulous. The dark haired young lady bartender, outside made me a specialty drink that was amazing. Love the dog park. Food trucks had variety. Entire place is an awesome hidden gem. Inside is lovely as well and your dog can hang inside too, that's a plus in my opinion.
