"The Artisanal Brewer’s Collective just picked up a well-known out of town property, snagging the rights to the shuttered East End Restaurant and Bar in Ojai. The plan is to build a new vegan and non-vegan menu, bring in some craft beer, and reopen this summer as the East End Pub." - Farley Elliott

Google
The first time was magnifique, but what I feared became true... variable quality, menu differential, and pretty high costs for what I could have made at home for 25% of the price.

Michael Shanahan

Google
A bit pricey but good food, leisurely but friendly service.

Google
A delicious, friendly, and overall wonderful place!

Google
Friendly wait staff; great food!

Yelp
I'm giving this place 5 stars because of the bratwursts... the best I've had in a long time. Add their homemade potato chips, an IPA, good ambiance, good location, good service, and you get a great experience!

Megan S.

Yelp
Great local spot! I went for happy hour and I liked that they offer "1/2" size orders of some popular apps to try. The fried pickles were delicious! I also got a bratwurst and it was great! You order at the bar and they had sports on in the background. They offer music, trivia, special events, etc. The bartender was super nice. I'll visit again when I'm in town

Yelp
Ojai pub has a fantastic ambiance inside. They've decorated and laid out the space so tastefully. I love the painted brick wall, the wooden shelving with books and drinks, the lighting and ceiling decor, and all the color combos. They've nailed the decor and make great use of their space. I was thrilled to see they have trivia on Thursdays and can't wait to come back for that! The menu has some delicious options. We just stopped in for a drink and shared the fingerling potatoes which were crispy and tasteful. The service was super friendly and helpful as well. This is a great spot that I hope to make a regular. The only down side is that the prices are on the upper side but it makes sense for the wonderful ambiance they provide. I also saw them bring out a water bowl for a doggie visitor that was eating on the patio. Love to see it :)

Cristen B.

Yelp
Staff was amazing. I ordered off the happy hour menu. Everything was so good except for those fried pickles. They were so so salty I could not even eat more than one. The bartender was lovely, as was the bratwurst. I will be back

Breanna T.

Yelp
The Pub is a hidden gem for weekend brunch! Without much advertisement, we were thrilled to stumble in and find a bar with brunch and TV's, since Ojai does not really have a 'sports bar', this is the place! We've been here every Sunday since for brunch and football, great drinks and game-day specials. With Jim behind the bar and Cory in the kitchen, you can't go wrong! Everything on the menu is delicious.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
We walked in on a win and had a great time. There was a singer which is nice if you're into live performance! The bar was super Clean and the bartender was super nice! Also go check out the art work in the bathroom !

Courtney D.

Yelp
The 3 stars is just for the food. I know it's bar food, but it was so so salty. The employees are so sweet though! The pub was really cute too. I would visit again, but for the drinks.

Leneice G.

Yelp
Been to ojai many times but never here and glad I did. Nice quaint bar, minimal but enough seating. The man behind the bar was so friendly. We tried their guiness beer float and not disappointed.

Diane C.

Yelp
The beer and wine were fine. Service was fine. Karaoke was fun to watch. The food was bleh. We ordered the Greek salad and hummus. We were disappointed. Bleh, bleh, bleh.

Yelp
Rode down and spent the weekend in Ojai. I arrived in the area before my family so I stopped at the Ojai Pub for a snack and cold beverages. It was less than a block from our hotel, there's a few tables out front and the Summer evening weather in Ojai was absolutely perfect. I went in and was greeted warmly by the staff who were nothing less than perfect. Kind, funny and attentive. All of them. I looked over the menu that has quite a few options, and I ordered the hummus app plate that comes with a pile of carrots, zucchini, crostini and a large scoop of hummus. It was delicious and a perfect light meal. I started with their house Old Fashioned which was really good and well balanced, then followed it up with a sour and a local IPA. In a town that has plenty of great options, this is certainly one of them and should be added to your list if you visit. Service was stellar Food was great Drinks were great Prices are EXTREMELY fair Facilities are clean Bonus points for the outdoor tables and awesome music

Karina R.

Yelp
I went to grab drinks here with a couple of friends. Their seasonal persimmon margarita was amazing (probably the best drink I've ever had)!

Matt J.

Yelp
Ojai Pub. Fantastic. Let me list the ways: one of the few places in Ojai that is consistently open on the later side; offers great vegetarian options despite having a menu that centers on sausages; still serves the phenomenal Autumn Grain Bowl despite it being Spring; makes mods easy (I get the grain bowl without grains and with extra kale); friendly service, live music, delicious food (the squash in the bowl is unreal). Highly recommended.

Yelp
Is your favorite food mustard? If it isn't, you probably won't like the pub style potato wedges. The fries were COVERED in mustard, and our table of six didn't even finish half of them before surrendering. If you order pretzels, it comes with two medium pretzels and more mustard to dip in plus a cheese sauce. The pretzels were over done and dry. Food was brought to our table by the pleasant staff, but overall the pub didn't stand out. Trivia was fun, though hard to hear, and a good time, even if it ran nearly 3 hours.

Nathan T.

Yelp
Awesome Bloody Mary bar. Every single hot sauce known to humanity avail as well. Beat the heat while watching some murderball this season!

Lexy V.

Yelp
Our local public house just rolled out a new brunch menu and we got to try it out for my birthday - did not disappoint! Highly recommend the breakfast sammie (can sub for vegan sausage or tofu instead of eggs) and their special french toast, don't forget the fresh squeezed OJ (or mimosa)! And the chef came out to greet us, which made for a super special dining experience.

Yelp
Local pub atmosphere with good food and drinks. We sat outside; most patrons were inside watching football. We ordered a Pink Moment craft ocktail, which was delicious. And what a pleasant surprise to get Pliny the Elder on tap. Drinks were a pretty slow in coming; there were pauses in service overall. For dinner we ordered fish&chips and a Pub Bowl. The fish was cod, not junky talipia like most f&c. Piping hot and delicious. The Pub Bowl with short rib was a stand out- lots of veggies, lots of flavor.

George B.

Yelp
The service was very friendly. The food was delicious. Probably the best fried pickles I've ever had. I had a bratwurst sandwich. Delicious. And all their sausages are made on a ranch owned by the Pub's owner. My wife had fish and chips. The fish was cod--very large portions well cooked. Her classic margarita was delicious. The prices were reasonable for such good food, especially for an Ojai restaurant.

Michelle G.

Yelp
Very fun little place. Live music makes it all the more fun. The brats are like nothing you've ever tasted! Service was great!

Carol C.

Yelp
We visited from LA for a weekend getaway. Great service and drinks. Our bartender took great care of us and gave us great recommendations on things to do. Service with a smile.

Dina C.

Yelp
Delicious hot dogs (personal favorite is the all beef) fried pickles with an outrageous dip and a dirty martini . Enjoy!

Yelp
Once again, the Ojai Pub suffers from its absentee owner and lack of management. As I wait 30 minutes for my salad to arrive, I am told that the kitchen is slow because there is only one cook...well, that's on you guys for being understaffed. I see them putting together a huge "to-go" order while customers actually in the bar are not being served. More, though, just twenty feet to my left on the customer side of the bar sit one of the bartenders and the other cook/chef. Clearly, the kitchen could have used some extra hands; so, why are two employees doing nothing to help any customer??? Cause they can, cause no one is actually there to manage the place. Further, at one point, when a friend arrives, one bartender goes outside to smoke a cigarette. But, they are too close to the restaurant, and so suddenly the whole place smells like cigarettes/tobacco. And, did this worker wash hands upon re-entry to the restaurant? You guessed it...heck no! Don't keep explaining to me there is only one cook and then lecture me that 15-20 minutes is a perfectly appropriate wait time for food (though, as said, it was close to 30 minutes)...how about you have two cooks, serve people fast, and give attentive service and skip the lecturing of the customers!!! Went to the old reliable in Ojai Beverage Company, where my salad came out in seven minutes, no one lectured me on anything, and there were three cooks in the kitchen. Tony Yanow may be rich and have successful bars in Los Angeles, but the Pub has once again slipped into mediocrity....sad!

Bernadette L.

Yelp
Nice pub. Order your own drinks at the bar. Atmosphere was calm. A quick on the main strop stop!

Rob Z.

Yelp
We visited the Ojai Pub for the first time this past Friday. Living in the neighborhood, we were happy to have a new place go for a happy hour or casual meal. We arrived in time for happy hour; enjoyed a couple of house margaritas and Moscow mules. These drinks were fine; good flavor and not weak. I'm going to try some of their other cocktails next time. We really liked the food. We split the small Greek salad; it's very good and perfect size to share if you're having other food. They have a great selection of sausages; vegan, chicken, pork, and all beef franks with your choice of toppings. We tried their French fries; they were hot and crispy; really good. Next time we'll try them with the curry sauce or garlic. The staff are friendly and service was good. Note: This is a very casual "pub". It's family friendly including a kid's menu! They have 2 TVs (sound off) and have a good mix of background music... for example Wicked Games performed by Parra for Cuva (yes, it's our kind of vibe).

Nancy S.

Yelp
We had a lovely meal at the Ojai Pub, delicious house-made sausages (including vegetarian ones) and her craft beers. Fun atmosphere! Also, I left a personal bag there and owner Maria mailed it back to me in Washington DC. Great spot!!

Carina C.

Yelp
MOST IMPROVED! Heard a rumor there were new owners , it's so much better. Menu has better options, wine list has wider price range . Service at tables improved instead of the old ordering at counter. Only negative shishito peppers had gross inedible spicy coating . Glad this local spot is thriving. Tip your servers well .

Greg T.

Yelp
The Ojai Pub has what downtown Ojai used to offer, before the tourists took over. A small, cozy local sort of vibe with great food and drinks. My wife and I came for the craft cocktails, but they have an extensive wine list and local brews on tap. The menu has a small selection of delightful treats for appetites big or small. We had the roasted shishito peppers with aioli sauce ($8) and the hummus, which came with dry toasted bread and olives ($10). Both were just right with our custom cocktails. The staff was friendly and know their craft. Our bartender for the night was Jordan. He was attentive and just right for the intimate, "locals" feel you get here. And the locals seem to love the place. Tuesday and there were a scattering of walk INS from the neighborhood at the bar when we arrived. There are tables to accomadate parties large and small. One was occupied by an 8 person group who looked to span the decades, from toddler to grandparents.

Sunny S.

Yelp
Love their Pub Bowl! Was pleasantly surprised after trying them a couple of years ago. Now we are fans and also love the fact that you can order until about 9:30pm, specify when you are craving food at night, and don't have to resort to having fast food! Thank you!

Gina L.

Yelp
Old people go here. They sell hotdogs and beer. Gross. I kept getting bumped by people because the tables are so close together it's unavoidable. Way too cramped. I wouldn't recommend it.

Mechell G.

Yelp
It's a fun pub. Cool retro music. My fries were on the Salt Lake City side but overall I enjoyed our late dinner. The staff are welcoming and friendly. You pay at the bar. There's also outdoor sidewalk dining

Erin K.

Yelp
Hubby and I had dinner here the other night because it was super late and not many places were open. We live near by and had heard good things. Called ahead and was told on that particular night they would be serving dinner until 9:30 or 10. We rushed over and found the place bustling. Sat at a table and a server brought the menu over pretty quickly. Hubby ordered an impossible burger, I got fish & chips and a bread pudding for dessert. My fish was fantastic. Amazing flavor and texture. Simply fresh and delicious. Husband liked his burger. Bread pudding came with some caramel drizzle, almond slivers, and a scoop of cashew ice cream thing. I'd never tried this cashew thing before; it was fine but I can't say it really improved the bread pudding. Honestly the biggest missed opportunity imo was if the bread pudding had been served (or at least offered) with an alcoholic sauce of some kind. eg: a scotch butterscotch sauce or a whiskey cream sauce (though someone else in town already does this second one and it's to die for). Seeing as how this is establishment is focused on drinking, enhancing one or more desserts with alcohol would be amazing. Atmosphere was attractive and comfortable except for one point - it was loud as hell inside. Small space, brick walls, and the raucous laughter of the happy guests bounced off the walls and was hard on my aging ears. Our server was friendly and professional, the food was great, I'd come again and I'd recommend it. Just know it might be very loud.

Yelp
Food and drinks used to be so good! Now that they have reopened as a wiener bar, everything is meh

Melissa G.

Yelp
Great option on the east end of downtown Ojai. I've been wanting to check this spot out since they opened- a while back now... casual dining(order at the bar) lots of vegan options along with you typical pub fare(burgers, salad, wings etc.) a fair number of wines by the glass as welll as an extensive beer menu, if you are into that sort of thing... they do have a full bar and some specialty cocktails on the menu. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, there was a pretty stable crowd for the 2 + hours I was there. My Paloma was fantastic, I had it Wii he a yummy fish taco. The beer choices are good(I am told) all the food I saw Looked excellent- burgers, fries chicken sandwich and the most amazing looking wedge salad. I will definitely be back- bonus for Ojai, where EVERYTHING shuts down pretty early, their kitchen is open serving full menu until closing

Brigid G.

Yelp
Amazing food, great chef.? The salads rock. Delicious cocktails. And service was awesome.

SM R.

Yelp
Great food, drinks and awesome atmosphere! Can't wait to come back soon!

Rj N.

Yelp
If you are coming here for the food or service....STOP. Both are horrible. If you're drinking then I guess it's ok.

Julia H.

Yelp
We were with friend exploring Ojai when we decided to get something to eat. Seemed that everything in town closed at FIVE! Very strange for a "touristy" town. Anyway, we were at some thrift stores and saw a pub next door. It was JUST opening AT 5...so we were in luck! Even better, they have Impossible burgers! (I'm vegan, the rest of my group was not) Super cute inside. Service was very friendly, but food took a long time. Burgers were great (vegan & regular), the buns looked homemade and beautiful. Dessert took a REALLY long time, and they brought the wrong thing, but let us keep it (bread pudding - gave to our friend and they said it was delicious!) We finally got our brownie with cashew ice cream...VERY MUCH worth the long wait! Great classic rock music playing. It got busy by the time we were done. Lots of locals, all ages, looked like everyone knew each other. There were a bunch of games back by the (extremely dark) restroom you could bring out & play at your table. There was also a "safe" darts game and a washer toss game up by the bar. Really fun place. Wish we had one in Camarillo. I'd love to hang out here if it were closer.

Yelp
On our way home from to Orange County from Solvang we stopped in Ojai for a night. I wanted a good craft beer and after some research we settled on Ojai Pub. It's on the main drag at the east end in a small row of businesses and next to what once was an old gas station, now a business. They have two long picnic tables out front. Inside are high ceilings, rectangular bar height tables and some booths, and of course the full bar with a rotating selection of beers. I ordered the Squiggles IPA by 6th and Brea brewery and it was tasty. For food, my wife had the Fish and Chips and I had the Classic burger. We sat outside because, though inside wasn't so noisy, it was louder than we prefer. The table to the east of the door was taken so we took the other which, unfortunately, exposed us a little to the sun. Still, I enjoyed sitting outside. The owner was very attentive. He made my wife's drink and checked twice to make sure she liked it. He brought our food and checked back to see that we were satisfied. I will definitely return when I'm back in the area. She liked the F&Cs and my burger was delicious, juicy and flavorful. Our fries were hot and crisp.

Guillermo C.

Yelp
This was a go to spo for my wife and myself. This place had great tacos, boneless maple habanero chicken wings and a great burger. I was in a couple of weeks ago and all those things are gone. My friend ordered the braised chickpeas and I ordered the burger. We split the bourbon pineapple wings and they were okay, not as good as the boneless wings but okay. The vegan bun is awful and there is no other option if you order the burger. The braised chickpeas are underwhelming. We've been back a few times since they changed the menu. The fish and chips were great, but the jack fruit tostada was horrible. Seems like the trend in Ojai, "start off with great food and then ruin it as soon as you have a good following ". The service is great and the staff works hard to make it a great experience. The chef and the owner should make the same effort to improve the menu!

Dare H.

Yelp
There are limited nightlife options for Ojai, especially during the pandemic. However even if there were more choices, the Ojai Pub stands out for it's laid back vibe, wide range of libations, and friendly service. It is a shame that the County makes people buy food if you just want a beer. Last night we had the vegan ice cream cookie dessert, but only because that was their only dessert option. It was pretty good, but not as good as the dishes we've had here in the past, including the memorable buffalo cauliflower dish. Currently they have a good chunk of outdoor seating and are carrying some of the hard to find Russian River beers. This is definitely a great spot to check out.

Nicholas S.

Yelp
my wife and I are vacationing in the Ojai area and saw this place newly opened so we decided to try it out. The ambience is a little loud but not so much that it's obnoxious and the music is low enough to be enjoyable. The staff was very courteous and the food was outstanding. My wife and I both got burgers, bbq for me and classic for my wife and she said it was the best burger she ever had! Mine wasn't too bad either, not the best but definitely not bad. The food also came out quickly despite the place being packed so kudos to the chef and staff. The ordering process is a bit odd though, you go up to the bar section and order from there and your food is brought out to your table. I don't frequent pubs so I'm not sure if this is typical of pubs but I prefer my order being taken from the table. This was my only real qualm with the place, everything else was wonderful. This restaurant boasts a full bar so come thirsty! This is place we would visit again.

Suzanne S.

Yelp
I was here last night for a small bite and cocktails with a friend. Melissa served us and was a DELIGHT! She was friendly, professional, and attentive. I had a great time and it's SO FUN there's a bar open later in Ojai these days!

Dayne H.

Yelp
The young lady manager is very rude and disrespectful. The food is nothing special and the beer is way over priced. Please go out of business.

Al S.

Yelp
Pretty happy with this most current iteration of a beer place on the east side of Ojai. Pleasant people, nice remodel of the old place- including sound suppression panels on the ceiling do the noise not too bright. The IPA was a perfect pour and prices are about average. We did beer only , but next table was very happy with their food.

Amanda C.

Yelp
I absolutely love the Ojai Pub! From the amazing drink menu to the most delicious chicken sandwich in Ventura County, this place has my heart. I am thankful they are open later and always have a great crowd of fun people to meet and hang with. Their staff are awesome and overall, if you're in Ojai looking for a drink and delicious bite, this is a must!

Jill T.

Yelp
We were visiting Ojai from Los Angeles and are used to dining late. Our options were limited but we saw the Ojai Pub on google was open late. We ordered the very green salad and the ranch bowl with hemp crusted tofu and my oh my, we were amazed!!!! The entire time we kept saying how good it was! The flavors and freshness was memorable! We made a joke and said what if we eat here every night that we're here! Sooo good!

Daisy P.

Yelp
Good food. Amazing fries. Yummy lemonade. Been here twice and some of our items were overly salted. Nicest people, but both time the service was PAINFULLY slow. To the point it may deter me from becoming a regular.

Jeremy R.

Yelp
Awesome! Some of the best service I have ever experienced. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The Shishito peppers are great. I got fish and chips and enjoyed it. I came here with my family and everybody was very happy with their meals. I plan to return in the near future!

Anne M.

Yelp
Great place to watch the Sunday game! Great food, lots of choices. Kids menu, vegan options, terrific deserts!

Nick B.

Yelp
I took a date here, and we ordered the Salmon Salad and Taco Plate. We were very disappointed with both. I've been here once before, and it was alright (nothing special), but they must have new cooks because this time, it was terrible. The service was slow, and the bathrooms were dirty. On the positive, beer was cold, and the staff smiled.
