Strolled in on a Saturday mid-afternoon only find the place deserted. The staff behind the counter are finding it challenging to choose between their cell phones and taking my order but I had patience and waited for some type of human interaction. I started with the Red Pepper and Gouda soup ($4.95). Great flavor from the red peppers. They really shined through but lacked basic seasonings such as salt and pepper. Next up was the $18.95 Lobster Roll. It's really a lobster spread like salad. I am using the term lobster loosely here because there was not much of it given the price. Not giving up on their sandwiches yet, I ordered their Fried Chicken and Jack sandwich ($9.95). Now the disappointment hit me in my face. Compared to the Hungry Petite (see mouthwatering pic), my sandwich looked like a mistake. The chicken was over fried leaving the meat dry and chewy. The bread to meat ratio was very lopsided. The bun was way to thick. At this point, although history has taught me better, I left with a bang and ordered the Charlie's Donuts ($4.95),- filled with chocolate, blueberry, and strawberry. You get one extra that has no filling but has a sugar and cinnamon coating. When I took a picture of them I could not wait to eat those. They looked great but as soon as I took a bite of them I felt meh. They are not sweet and flavorful. The fillings taste odd - just weird. Needless to say, none of them got a second bite. So bottom line: over-hyped and overpriced.
