Very nice spot for a good variety of Japanese and Chinese dishes. The miso soup was the best I've ever had. My main course was the shrimp and broccoli lunch special. It was scrumptious. I was drawn to another diner's dish, of General Cho's chicken done Vegetarian style - with tofu!! How great is it, to give vegetarians the opportunity to enjoy popular meat dishes without the meat?!

Google
DELICIOUS! The staff was SO friendly loved that it felt like a family owned authentic atmosphere. My Husband and I ordered the Kani Salad , Fried Chicken Dumplings, Steamed Pork Dumplings, Wonton Soup, Veg Fried Rice & Chicken and Broccoli with Vanilla & Green Tea Ice cream for dessert. Everything was AMAZING we would absolutely make this place our regular spot. Everything was fresh and we left excited to come back to try more dishes !

Google
Delicious food. I haven’t had decent Chinese in a very long time. Everything we tried was amazing. Our servers were very nice and attentive. We did hear someone coughing very loud in the back which threw us off a little… Nevertheless, I would come back here again.

Google
Food was amazing! I ordered a little bit of everything the sushi was fresh and the fried rice is out of the world! The egg roll is a MUST try it was delicious with good fillings. The food is cheap but high quality compared to other places. The staff and family are very welcoming and nice. They were very patient and helped me with my order. I will be coming back!!!

Google
The food here is great. Came for a late lunch with my gf. The staff is friendly, and welcoming. They have very fast service. They kept my water glass filled. For the price of takeout you get a nice restaurant experience. The wonton soup was good, light, not oily, and had tiny bits of pork in the broth. The scallion pancakes are fried until crispy. They dont have too many scallions inside but are light and have a slight stretch and a good mouth feel. They weren't oily from low heat oil. The fried wontons were deep fried and the skin had little bubbles in them which gave them a flaky texture as it crackles in your mouth. The inside was still soft and delicious. The general tso chicken was good too. The chicken was fried til it had a sugar crack almost and had extra sauce on top. The vegetable fried rice was good. It had eggs, Scallions, sprouts, onions. It didn't need much sauce at all. The schezuan chicken was good. The meat was nice and silky. The brown sauce wasn't too salty. The vegetables that came with it were steamed nicely and also had a decent amount of sauce. The white rice was nice, and fluffy. The bill came with orange slices and fortune cookies

Google
Such an amazing place for fresh sushi every time! Eilena is so friendly. Definitely recommend!

Google
The food was very flavorful. Cash and and credit are both accepted. Limited meter parking on the side of the building and metered street parking in front of the restaurant. Meters are usually in effect 7am-8pm. Take out and dine-in available. Prices are reasonable. 11/2022

Google
Gave this place a chance although outside looks decrepit. Inside was worse somehow, children that are related to the staff and customer kids were running around kicking a soccer ball. Smells of wet carpet. Child loudly and openly coughing where diners order to take out, very disgusting. Theres a sign hanging on the wall that declares the place as "the best Asian food in town" and they put tape over the part that reveals they won that in 2019. Nearly FIVE years ago. I can only assume they were good at one point. Horrible decor. The only redeeming quality of this place is that they take tap. Oh and *** the "chicken" dumplings were small and didn't taste like chicken, it was filled with some gelatinous mystery filler. Very cheap quality. Small egg roll too.

Yelp
Consistently good food! Many years of frequenting this restaurant and the food is always excellent.

Yelp
So I spoke to Paul and he told me they were closed due to renovations and they are reopened. When I walked in there were new floors & the fish tanks are gone. Eat & be merry !

Yelp
It used to be my go to spot. Food used to taste fresh. There is severe lack of customers in the store, hardly anyone dines in. I had been a long time customer for many years and I've never liked the gradual charges the restaurant went through. Used to have a beautiful fish tank. Used to have warm lights instead of white lights that feels uninviting. They always have half price sushi but the last time i ordered eel the slice was thin and small. My tuna didn't taste right. I left a half eaten plate. I miss the way the restaurant used to be.

Yelp
Good food. Great family environment. Plenty of family gatherings over the years. Great delivery service, always on time.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant and it wasn't bad. I ordered from their website and picked it up myself. It was ready when I arrived (although the cashier wasn't the friendliest). The rolls were all fresh as well as the sushi. I was surprised at the amount of food that I received for only $23 (plus tip). They have half price rolls at all times and there's a pretty good selection to choose from. To top it off the rolls were a pretty decent size - I was stuffed by the time I finished everything. I think I've found a new go to sushi spot that only takes me 10 minutes to get there. I will definitely go back again.

Yelp
I have been purchasing food for take away, and dining in, at East Harbor for over 15 years. I tried my best to support during the pandemic and eat here at a minimum of once a week, if not more. The service is great and you get a good amount of food for the cost. I have never had a bad experience, and if anything they might go above and beyond, unexpectedly. It's got lots of options and while it is not 5 star, it is definitely one of my favourites, and has the cleanest bathrooms in Westchester. As a side note, they have two televisions and are willing to put on whatever game I want to watch, if needed.

Yelp
amazing 10/10 would totally recommend the food is delicious and spectacular!! and the service is great. they remodeled and the place is modern and clean!

Yelp
No idea why its rated so low. The sushi is awesome and all the food I get from here is always great. Is it the best ive had? No but it certainly way better than the 2.5 stars im seeing. Highly recommend to anyone whos looking for chinese and sushi around the area. Best prices and good food

Yelp
My family and I had a very nice meal of wonton soup, chicken fried rice and sushi. Sushi was was very fresh and place was spotless. Will be back for sure.

Yelp
I don't know why this place isn't a 5 star place! I don't post reviews unless I really have something to say... the food is delish, family owned authentic food. The taste is amazing! Everything we had!! Crab Rangoon eggs drop soup miso soup bento box chicken teriyaki rock shrimp WOW! As authentic as it gets. Don't let the run down awning fool you. Amazing will be back! Oh and the prices two thumbs up!

Yelp
Love this place. Have been coming here for yrs. Food is always amazing and so is the hospitality. Ask for Angela, she's the best.

Yelp
disgusting. i ordered tuna sashimi $4.75 for 2 pcs. (i ordered 2 orders). they were old - lady on the phone was nasty and lied and said they just got them fresh that day - smelled bad not fresh

Yelp
I am having a hard time finding decent Chinese food in Yonkers. Right now I'm using this restaurant because of limited choices. The food is adequate but not great and unusually overpriced. The service is OK and the ambience is poor. The last time I Had food delivered the Orange chicken was not very good and the shrimp fried rice was mediocre. I may not buy from them again.
google avatar

Amanda G.

Yelp
I have been eating here for years. I always get my regular faves from the sushi menu, like California rolls, salmon skin hand rolls, shrimp tempura rolls and ebi (shrimp) sushi. I love that they allow me to substitute brown rice in my sushi. They have a great pre fixe menu that includes the entree with rice, an egg roll and a soup for just $12.95. The best part is that even though they are priced well, the food does not suffer. The General Tso chicken is actually chicken and not just fried dough. The serving is so much that most nights we have take home containers after our meal. The staff is so nice. My family and I are regulars so they know us and they treat us just as well as the first day we walked in and asked for a table.

Yelp
I'm not sure why such negative reviews. We've ordered twice already within the last two weeks and both times everything was delicious, fresh, and delivered quickly. In Bronxville we've been trying to find good Chinese food that's close & delivers, and one of my neighbors gave me their menu telling us how good they are. I'm very happy we took her word for it. We'll definitely be regular customers for the foreseeable future!

Yelp
I actually just ordered through Grub hub about 3 times to this restaurant. The first time was actually really good tasting.so we decided to order again and give them a chance. The second time we ordered my boyfriend and I got really sick then the third time (today) my order came in completely wrong. My boyfriend doesn't have his order and the rock shrimp he ordered is soggy and nasty. I called back (of course I'm pissed) and they said they will send another order to us.... this will be the last time I'm ordering from this place. This is horrible service and I cannot believe it's so hard to read off a printed paper. Also, delivery driver..... didn't want to press a button to come upstairs to deliver the food.... yet he was tipped....

Jihye B.

Yelp
They have half-off specials for sushi rolls at all times of the day. You can get a decent variety of rolls with each roll being under 4 bucks. The Chinese dishes from here are not half bad either. The first time I came here with friends, they had a deal going on for dine-in patrons-- one free sake or beer with your meal. They gave us a small bottle of sake we could each take home! The wait staff is pretty nice to us when we go, so can't complain about the service. They're not the fanciest or most authentic, but you'll get a bang for your buck.

Yelp
Great spot for sushi. Was a little concerned with the low star rating but I have no complaints. Has private parking lot but it is metered, vey quick to be seated and very friendly staff. Though staff are friendly many did not understand English well. Went for the chefs special which was very good and seemed very fresh. No soup included though which I'm use to at these spots. 4/5 for food 3/5 for service

Yelp
They offer Chinese and Japanese Very good chicken Lo Mein and boneless spare rib bits, excellent fried dumplings. Needed delivery from a bit of a distance- they told me 40min on phone but they got here in 20. Very courteous delivery guy too. Piping hot and well done on the dumplings just as requested. I'll have to check out their Japanese side of menu next.

Yelp
Surprised by the low rating of this restaurant on Yelp! Ordered food from here through Seamless tonight and was VERY impressed with everything I ordered (minus the steamed pork dumplings). Highly recommend the Hot & Soup soup (one of the best I had, actually), the Pork Fried Rice and the Broccoli with Garlic Sauce. Like I mentioned, I ordered the pork dumplings, but wasn't super impressed...but I think that's more my fault than theirs because I ordered them steamed instead of fried. All in all, will absolutely order from them again!

Yelp
Tried this restaurant again for the first time in years with my family. When you first walk in you get the feel of a Chinese buffet. The tables and seating are simple and the ambiance has a certain lack luster. The venue feels very old and not updated. There is Chinese music playing in the background which is nice. The waitress was very timely and helpful and brought over some fried noodles and duck sauce prior to taking our order. The waitress also cleared the tables of any dirty/unused dishes quickly. I recall this restaurant being purely Japanese cuisine when I was younger, but now the menu is split between both Chinese and Japanese food. We ordered a variety of items off of the Japanese menu, sushi, rolls etc. we also ordered a small wonton soup, which was exactly that, small..two wontons in broth, but the wontons were very tasty. The restaurant has a daily promotion, all al a carte sushi/sashimi/rolls are half priced. I was a bit nervous when I saw this and expected to receive low grade sushi. I was wrong. Everything was fresh and delicious! You receive two pieces of sushi/sashimi per order and six pieces in a roll. The sushi is not overly riced and the rice is well seasoned. Very tasty! The only complaint I would have is that the food took a very long time to be prepared, but I supposed that is not unreasonable considering everything is being made to order and is fresh. The venue also offers soft drinks, wine, beers, and sake. There is a small metered parking lot next to the restaurant and street parking is also available. There is a dessert menu available but very basic items, ice cream, fried ice cream, fruit... Will definitely return here when I need my sushi fix!

Yelp
Love this place. Sushi rolls are delicious and so reasonably priced. I can't wait until they open for indoor dining again.

Yelp
The food here is great ! Ordered from here twice and was delighted both times. The last time I ordered here I got a boneless sparerib combo and specified well done with extra sauce. The restaurant honored my request and the ribs were cooked to perfection. The egg rolls and crunchy and flavorful as well. The food was delivered quickly and the delivery driver was friendly as well. I will for sure be ordering from East Harbor again whenever my Chinese cravings spike.

Yelp
Although this restaurant had a pretty poor rating, I noticed that they were mostly complaints about the take-out service, and many reviews said the food was good. I figured I would give it a shot and hopefully contribute to raising their rating despite their poor delivery service. The place is very spacious and nice. There is a little sushi bar as well as many tables for diners. However, there was not a single diner in the building which was a bit suspicious... The menu had a wide variety of options and the specialty dishes all sounded amazing. I ordered the pork and shrimp hunan and an avocado salad. The avocado was huge, maybe even a little too big, but nonetheless it was tasty. The problem was with the pork and shrimp. For some reason my father's entree came out before mine by about 5 minutes. When mine came, I took a bite into my shrimp and found that it was almost completely raw! It seems like maybe they forgot about my dish and rushed to make it last second? I don't know. Our waitress was apologetic and sent it back to the kitchen and brought back the exact same plate (I could tell that the pork hadn't been touched) which means they either put my half-eaten shrimp back in the pan (which seems unsanitary to me?) or threw the plate in the microwave. The sauce tasted suspiciously different when it came out. It was pretty horrid... I couldn't even eat it. It tasted like ketchup. Although I had no problems with the service, and the presentation was lovely, I just don't think I could stomach another meal here again.

Yelp
Great vegetarian chicken! Love this place - gotten takeout from here twice. The sesame noodles and vegetarian beef are also delicious. Surprised by the not so great ratings!

Yelp
The food is usually good. But idk why the service is so subpar sometimes. So slow, sometimes dirty utensils

Yelp
I've always passed by this establishment ever since I can remember. Never did it cross my mind to even step foot into the door-- until I tried their special rolls. Yesterday, I had the Spicy Boy Roll, which had both spicy tuna and crunchy tuna, and it was very clean and fresh, undoubtedly the best I've had. Today, I tried their Yonkers Roll, which gleefully used eel sauce, which is pretty much a toned down version of a teriyaki sauce and a bit thicker. Absolutely amazing. Characteristics of a great Asian restaurant such as East Harbor, heretofore mentioned as E-Har: - sesame chicken not overcooked, just right and with the right sauce - unapologetic hostess (sass-machine) - biased (toward AZNs such as myself) waiters who pretend to poke you with chopticks - shrimp not overcooked (thank goodness) - beef with broccoli that is out of this world Service is usually efficient at E-Har, depending on the people flow; and getting the bill with 5 people involved was pleasantly easy on the pocket. Figuring out the right time of day to come (this time it was 5 PM on a Thursday) is your best bet because there is limited parking but there are plenty of seats and private booths. You can also order alcohol and those fancy drinks with the umbrellas. And there were no fortune cookies-- those are annoying. ::GOONNNGGG::

Yelp
two words. rotten. food. we've been ordering from here since 2015. it used to be amazing but we haven't ordered in about a year or so bc the last time we did, we got chicken tempora and as soon as the bag was delivered, we noticed a rotten egg smell. like a bad really gross garbage smell. we thought it was the brown bag bc sometimes those bags can smell moldy. when we opened the chicken tempora container, the smell exploded and i nearly puked. it was indescribable. still, weve been loyal customers for years and gave it a shot anyway, doubting ourselves. i took 1 bite and immediately knew the chicken was rancid. it wasnt crunchy like fried. it was crunchy like raw chicken. chewy. and it smelled exactly how it tasted. we didn't bother the restaurant about it bc it was the first ever occurrence. but it happened with our 2nd order. i couldn't eat it. my husband did, though, and got sick. we thought that maybe if we went in person, the quality would be better. no.... when we got there, the place was EMPTY. they weren't prepared for customers. they had their kids doing homework or something at a table. another kid took our orders. normally I'm fine with that, i have no issue. it was just worrisome in this case because it felt like they didn't have any employees. the food came and yes, it was just as bad in store.... i remember having to send food back. we finished what we could eat and then left. haven't ordered since.... i wonder if things have gotten better. we miss this place. it used to be so lively. a hidden gem. now its desolate... 2 stars bc i hope it gets better

Yelp
My favorite Chinese/Japanese restaurant in Yonkers. They cook extremely well and the taste is good. Favorite dish is the chicken with garlic sauce and the scallion pancakes. My friends and family also like the sushi.
google avatar

Meredith E.

Yelp
So I did takeout this evening and when I got home the order was wrong. I called and the lady was very rude and yelling at me. She told me to bring my food back and I said that I ate it already and she said that there was nothing they can do. Everyone make sure that you check your bags to make sure your order is correct before leaving because the language barrier is bad. What makes it really bad is that I am a regular there and will not be going back. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Mislade C.

Yelp
Went last night for a birthday dinner - the atmosphere was quiet and they were very attentive I started with the Zombie for $5.50 such a great deal - the bartender said it was their most popular drink and it was strong & yummy! All of the sushi was 50% off so you can't beat that kinda of deal We ordered chicken & broccoli to compliment the sushi and the dish was prepared well and tasty - Overall I would definitely return - cheap inexpensive sushi & strong drinks best of both worlds

Yelp
I would give them zero stars if I was able too. Their website offers on line ordering. They even call you to enter in a four digit pin with your order to verify that's it's a real offer. I did all that and I got an email confirming my order and the time to pick it up. But then you go there to pick up your food they say the machine doesn't work all the time and they don't have any order for you. Well what good is on line ordering service if you don't receive the order. So then we had to wait so they could put in a new order for you. Only to find out when you get home and have the WRONG FOOD. Horrible horrible service! Spare yourself the frustration and eat elsewhere.

Yelp
The best Chinese food and the nicest waitresses. The atmosphere is always welcoming and peaceful. I love this place!
google avatar

Deanna L.

Yelp
When you crave your favorite Chinese dishes, there's a specific food memory you go back to. For me, it's chicken broccoli and fried rice and this place hit the nail on the head with meeting that specific food memory, a great lunch special and good quality chicken, nothing super healthy but definitely a great Chinese the way we think of Chinese :)
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
It took almost 2 hours for my food to arrive. When I called the restaurant to see what the delay was the woman who answered the phone practically hung up on me. The food was cold when it finally was delivered. Never order from here.
google avatar

Peter V.

Yelp
Came to have lunch California rolls dried up small..seen the waiter drop chopsticks out of the paper on the floor.HE PICKED THEM UP OFF THE FLOOR PUT IT BACK IN SLEEVE AND PLACED IT ON THE TABLE..I will never ever eat here again place is dirty.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is decent for an Asian restaurant in the United States. The staff is very nice which is always a plus in the restaurant game. What I never really got was why one starts a Chinese/Japanese fusion restaurant. The two cultures have hate eachother since the Mongols tried to invade the Japanese islands. Enough about history. I think the owners are Chinese. (I speak Mandarin). The sushi is alright not bad but also not great. The sushi is somewhere in the middle though it is better then anything you would get at the super market. The parking is a problem. Have quarters on you for the meters. You can also park down the library. Don't tell them I told you to do that. Basically if you have been to an Asian fusion restaurant you will not be surprised.
google avatar

Dyanne S.

Yelp
This is not the first time delivery is late. 10minutes is acceptable. But 45 MINUTES???? Really? Then today i ordered from them again without realizing its the same place. Food supposed to be here 8.55pm and food only got delivered at 9.45pm. Very very unacceptable! When i first ordered from them, they were great! Now...nah i no longer think im ordering from them anymore. What a shame.
google avatar

Darlene V.

Yelp
HORRIBLE SUSHI. They might have other good dishes, but if you're going to order sushi , the only thing worth ordering is the cucumber roll. The fish is disgusting and isn't fresh at all. If you want real good sushi, I'd go about mile down the block into Bronxville. This place is totally not worth killing your taste buds and ruining your experience with sushi. Two thumbs DOWN.
google avatar

Yelp
A great little gem of a restaurant. It's so discreet, you can almost overlook it when you're driving through Central Avenue. Before I became a big fan I have only eaten East Harbor once, back in 2005, where I had a standard General Tso's chicken. Which was very good. I recently decided to go back about...3 weeks ago with my boyfriend because we were looking for a really good sushi place so we decided to give it a try. It's walking distance from my house, so we figured why not. We started off with Miso Soup, which is great as always, I mean it's hard to mess up Miso Soup. He ordered jumbo shrimp with garlic sauce AND the sushi lunch special. Yeah, he had 2 lunches, including an egg drop soup that came with the Chinese dish. Very good prices. I myself ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll & the Shrimp Tempura Roll. INCREDIBLE. This was without a doubt the best spicy tuna I've ever had. I was in heaven. They were both so fresh. For dessert we shared a green tea ice cream which was the perfect ending to a great meal. Sweet yet not heavy. I've ordered a couple of times for delivery after that as well as ate there AGAIN just a week ago. Again the food was great, although I have one TEENSY bit of criticism. I ordered the Tiger Eye, which I misread as a roll. That was my own fault, but anyway it was priced as $6.50, so I figured it must be a roll. No it was not. It was described as squid rolled with smoked salmon. It took longer than all of my food to arrive so I thought it was going to be epic. The waitress then serves me a plate with these tiny looking things that were probably the size of Cheese Nips. Maybe even smaller. And there were about....15 pieces? I don't quite recall. But anyway, I felt like I paid 6 bucks for a 85-cent bag of chips. It was yummy, but yeah...I felt jipped. Another thing, the parking sucks. Plain & simple. Although I can't really complain, I can walk to it haha. Great place overall.

Yelp
I drive by this place all the time and finally decided to try it. I had a craving for sushi and wanted to try something different so i ordered the Yonkers Roll. I placed my order for take out so i dont have much to say about the wait staff, however the service was quick and the person who took my orders was nice and answered my questions. The sushi was not rolled as tight as ive had before but it had a great taste and was presented well. I will definitely be coming here more often to satisfy my sushi cravings.
google avatar

Louise F.

Yelp
Decent local chinese food. Half price sushi may bring customers in but my experience has been subpar with the sushi. Rolls aren't made tight, sometimes very fishy tasting and served too warm. Go for the chinese food and eat in. For some reason it's far better eating in than taking out. Also when everyone else is closed due to snow they are open! Staff is pleasant and service is quick. I'd really rate it 2 3/4 stars.
google avatar

LISA N.

Yelp
Go for lunch, you'll get the cheapest sushi around. Half price before 4 pm everyday, and mondays and wednesdays is half price sushi all day! And everyone is so friendly here! I always walk in and they remember my face. There's parking next to the building, and it's never over crowded. And get the fried ice cream. Yes, fried ice cream.
google avatar

Carol C.

Yelp
I couldn't be more disappointed. Well, maybe. Been coming here for almost ten years and it used to be pretty good. I have had three kids coming here since infancy but I think the baby will never taste this food except through my milk...it has def gone downhill. The size of the sushi has continued to shrink-it seems they have mastered the art of cutting nori and fish tiny with minimal rice for glue to assemble the little package. Worse, it tastes very thawed and poor quality! I am even suspecting fish fraud (whether they know it or not). I know you have to wake up early to get quality at the fish market but this is unacceptable. Might as well stick to cooked food. But even the eel roll tastes like bits and ends... Sad to see this place spiral down and lose a once local gem.

Tally E.

Yelp
I was shocked to see that this little treasure was right next to the public library. I passed it soooo many times and one day decided to give it a try. To my surprise they have amazingly fresh sushi. If you go on a weekday you can get the sushi 1/2 off. That's great to me. This does not include the specialty rolls just the basic regulars (tuna roll, spicy salmon, california rolls and other sushis and sashimi. Great place for large groups, the food is fresh and there is a large variety of both chinese and japanese items.
google avatar

Bree M.

Yelp
This place would get 5 stars if it was cleaner and if every staff member was friendly. The dining room isn't dirty it is just dingy and the bathroom reeks of mothballs. The people who sit in the front are not friendly and hit you with "how many?" instead of hello. The waitstaff on the other hand are very sweet and attentive. We are vegetarian so we really enjoy the mock meat selections. I love tofu and vegetables but it's nice to have something more substantial available on the menu. If you decide to visit don't expect 5 stars and concentrate on yummy food and the nice waitstaff.

Sugarie C.

Yelp
A dozen of my friends now know about East Harbor because its where I love going for delicious filling sushi at a good price. Of course I miss coming here and dinning in with a complementary beer or Sake, hopefully those times come back. The waitresses are friendly and the food has always been incredible in my experience.

Yelp
I ordered take out here and the egg drop soup smelled like cigarette and had a burnt taste it was disgusting. The chicken wings was underdone. Seriously the middle of some of them was pink. Sushi was alright but im never ordering here again.
