A great little gem of a restaurant. It's so discreet, you can almost overlook it when you're driving through Central Avenue.
Before I became a big fan I have only eaten East Harbor once, back in 2005, where I had a standard General Tso's chicken. Which was very good. I recently decided to go back about...3 weeks ago with my boyfriend because we were looking for a really good sushi place so we decided to give it a try. It's walking distance from my house, so we figured why not.
We started off with Miso Soup, which is great as always, I mean it's hard to mess up Miso Soup. He ordered jumbo shrimp with garlic sauce AND the sushi lunch special. Yeah, he had 2 lunches, including an egg drop soup that came with the Chinese dish. Very good prices. I myself ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll & the Shrimp Tempura Roll. INCREDIBLE. This was without a doubt the best spicy tuna I've ever had. I was in heaven. They were both so fresh. For dessert we shared a green tea ice cream which was the perfect ending to a great meal. Sweet yet not heavy.
I've ordered a couple of times for delivery after that as well as ate there AGAIN just a week ago. Again the food was great, although I have one TEENSY bit of criticism. I ordered the Tiger Eye, which I misread as a roll. That was my own fault, but anyway it was priced as $6.50, so I figured it must be a roll. No it was not. It was described as squid rolled with smoked salmon. It took longer than all of my food to arrive so I thought it was going to be epic. The waitress then serves me a plate with these tiny looking things that were probably the size of Cheese Nips. Maybe even smaller. And there were about....15 pieces? I don't quite recall. But anyway, I felt like I paid 6 bucks for a 85-cent bag of chips. It was yummy, but yeah...I felt jipped.
Another thing, the parking sucks. Plain & simple. Although I can't really complain, I can walk to it haha. Great place overall.
