we'd heard about the pantry breakfast and wanted to try it. Unfortunately, they were out of the ham (part of the lack of a star)
But the pancake platter was really good! The potatoes were definitely reminiscent of the original pantry. eggs were done to our satisfaction (sunny side up & over easy with perfectly runny yokes). We asked for crispy bacon and it was tasty, crispy, but not overcooked.
the lone dissenter ordered the "East Los taco" (pollo), the "keto taco" (al pastor), and the mulita (carne asada). As the menu states, these are all plain: just the seasoned (or not seasoned in the case of the pollo) protein. of the 3 tacos, the keto taco with the al pastor had the best flavor, but was also the most greasy feeling. The mulita and the East Los Taco corn tortillas were tasty. the carne asada was smothered in cheese and still could savor the flavor. Note that the Mulita was like ordering 2 East Los tacos with cheese (in my opinion) but priced a tad less and had cheese. the East Los taco and mulita had "hand pressed corn tortillas" which was why I tried them. if all you are interested in is the meats, I'd go with the regular tacos.
Note the protein choices, aside from those mentioned above, included lingua, chorizo, and one other thing I can't remember, but someone said meant "head". No fish.
we tried the fresa/strawberry milk (I think that was what it was) and it was a huge cup and really good flavor.
You order at the counter and find a table. They take credit cards. You pick up your own food, but there are no metal utensils. only the breakfast items are served on non-paper plates. but there is always someone around to ask questions and busses the plates. No complaints
the place is airy and fairly large. So, when there is a line, it must be a really long line.
We timed it perfectly to be able to park in the lot behind the restaurant (enter on Ford), but there was also a public lot across the street (Ford). There are booths along the walls and tables in the center.
I would go back.
