It was amazing. The wings came out steaming hot and I enjoyed them with a bit of soy sauce. I dislike coconut flavoured things, I prefer the actual fruit, but their coconut boba tea was soo good. The tapioca pearls were unflavoured which I actually liked. The beef pho broth was very rich and it was very filling. I don’t eat pork and they had vegetarian/soy broth options 😋

Google
The cream cheese crab cakes were sssooo good… also had the drunken chicken noodles… good that the chickens were cooked rather than intoxicated.. Also, the server was friendly and quick to refill my glass of water. I’ll be back… Went back and has the Mongolian beef, fried rice and coconut shrimp. Yet another great meat.

The place was pretty run down when I entered in the restaurant. However, the food was awesome! Get their shrimp ramen and you’re all good for dinner, since the portion was a great size. You also get a good amount of their delicious broth too. The service at the restaurant was decently quick and they were friendly. Glad we tried something new like this place for ramen. Recommended for ramen!

My husband and I looked for a place to eat ramen in Denver and found this place. The ramen and meat rolls are delicious!!!!!! We appreciate the kindness with which we were treated. We hope to return soon 🙏🏻 Recommended from Texas 🍜🤠

Google
I came here simply to photograph their food for UberEats delivery. But I FELL IN LOVE while there! The restaurant is beautifully designed and styled and is very open and welcoming. And the staff?? AMAZING! So sweet and kind and accommodating...and I haven't even gotten to the food yet. Hahaha! I don't always get to eat what I shoot, but when I do, I am happy to report, East Tao Ramen is one of the best! So fresh and crispy and FLAVORFUL!! I can't wait to come back with my friends and enjoy their Sake Bar. movie nights and karaoke! And yes, I REALLY did take these photos as I'm a food photographer for a living.

Google
This was absolutely delicious! We went in after seeing a vegan crispy pork ramen on the menu. That was amazing - I have no idea how they do it but it tastes just like getting crispy pork! The vegan broth is a little bland but was good with some Sriracha. The portions were good and the boba/tea was delicious.

Google
So they have really good food and the staff are friendly, but I work late and they are never open when they say they're open. It says online and on their store front that they're open until 11pm. However, for the past two nights they are closed and it's only 8pm. Good food though.

Google
East Tao Ramen has the absolute best variety to choose from and you will not be disappointed! From their miso soup, drunken noodles and their vegetable ramen were to die for! They have a great atmosphere, environment and the food just tops it all off! Mike, our waiter was exceptionally wonderful as he took great care of us throughout the entire meal. Highly recommend this restaurant, 10/10 will come again!

Yelp
this was my second time eating here, and i can confidently say the food and service quality is consistent. the first time i ate here, i got a vegan ramen bowl that was really yummy (highly recommend trying the plant-based proteins). this time, i got sesame tofu (which could have been crispier and spicier) and shrimp spring rolls (those were perfect). the restaurant is clean and tidy inside, with plenty of booths and tables (plus a bar)!

Yelp
Considering how this restaurant doesn't specialize in ramen, I was quite satisfied with my crispy chicken ramen. They have a wide variety of Asian dishes. I ordered online for pickup. It said it would be ready in 20 minutes, but when I showed up about 35 minutes later, they were still making it. The restaurant didn't look busy either. I did enjoy the ramen and the chicken though. It was some solid ramen which didn't wow my taste buds in any way, but it was comforting. It ended up being $18, and I saved a little for breakfast the next morning.

Yelp
Ramen came with fried chicken on the side which was great so the breading didn't get soggy. Plus we got the crab wontons of course that were HUGE. Decent spot in cap hill for good noodles.

Yelp
They have great food and even better service. Mike has always been warm and inviting. It's a family restaurant and you can tell he runs it with heart.

Tabitha S.

Yelp
The food was pretty good, I'd say. It definitely hit the spot after a long day. I especially liked the noodles; they were cooked just right. The service was quick and friendly, too. I'd come back again!

Jennilynn M.

Yelp
I ordered drunken noodles with chicken and an order of vegetable eggrolls, the eggrolls were the only thing that was slightly edible. The chicken had a weird texture with a lot of tough and chewy pieces in it. and there was absolutely no flavor to the drunken noodles not even a salty flavor. When I called to confront this issue and see what we can do about it, the owner /guy on the phone Was extremely rude hung up on me told me that it was my fault that it didn't taste, right , that I must've left it out.... and i'm the only one in 3 years that's ever had a complaint.... but as i see in reviews below i'm not. then proceeds to tell me that he's only gonna refund me for half of it even though I can bring back the whole meal , as it was not edible. Just extremely rude, unprofessional service. as someone who works in the service industry i was shocked at how hostile this environment is.

Yelp
The people here are so friendly! East Tao is also usually open later than other food places that close at 9pm. They also have an extensive menu ranging from ramen to pad Thai to orange chicken and everything in between. Food is a 2 though, I 'd probably recommend if you need a late night bite more than anything.

Jonathan K.

Yelp
This place is bomber. BOMBER! Ramen is killer and the Drunken Noodles are somehow even better. I'll buy your meal if you don't like it
google avatar

Yelp
This place is one of my go tos in the neighborhood. There's a great menu selection and they're always quick. I've ordered from here about a dozen times and they've yet to mess up my order (knock on wood) which I think is hard to say about most restaurants! Big fan of their crispy egg rolls, pho and wonton soup. The portion sizes are great, especially for the price. The staff is always so friendly and really cares about your experience. Highly recommend checking this place out!
google avatar

Kenna S.

Yelp
It was a good spot to get some ramen late at night since they are one of the only place around open later than 9! We also got their spring rolls and they were the best damn rolls I've ever had in my life. So definitely get those. We also got the crispy chicken ramen and that was delicious! Food was good, and came out quick! Not a bad price either!
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered the spicy beef ramen, extra spicy. It was just OK. I've definitely had more flavorful ramen, but this was in a convenient location.

Natalja D.

Yelp
Was completely empty when we arrived but I knew it was going to be yummy based on reviews i've read, was not let down!! Ordered the veggie gyoza and a crispy chicken ramen, both were delicious and filled with flavor! Great spot that deserves more love!

Yelp
Delicious! Had the chicken ramen and couldn't get enough! Chicken Ramen! YUMMY! Was just really really good! Highly recommend and people were extremely nice!

Yelp
I took my adult son to lunch here. We were the only ones. We ordered spicy beef ramen and I ordered the chicken marinated ramen. I don't know if it was the owner that took our order. We also ordered spring rolls with peanut sauce. The order took quite a while to come to us considering that we were the only ones in the place. I do have to mention that only half the restaurant was air conditioned and not very well at that. It was terribly hot out side though. The spring rolls came first. They had shrimp, rice noodles and lettuce in them. They tasted fresh and these I would order again. My son said that his ramen was good, but I didn't taste his. My ramen....well, that was a different story. I have to note that the flavors were very good, the egg cooked perfectly and was a nice portion, however, my chicken was dry, tough and chewy. I actually picked it out. I did tell the person there, again, not sure if it was the owner or a server or cook...that it was tough and chewy, and was told, "oh, I'm sorry you didn't like it." REALLY? Who would like tough chewy chicken? I rarely complain about food, but It was inedible, and I was a bit surprised that she didn't offer to bring another piece. So for 15.99, a bowl of chickenless ramen is kind of over my budget for a lunch, such a shame because the flavors were there.

Yelp
Very good late night spot. Lots of gluten free options. They were quick for our take out. Pho was super flavorful. Thank you !

Yelp
I usually hate writing bad reviews but my fiance and I were looking for a restaurant which was open late for takeout and we found this place. The fact that the rangoons tasted stale and the vegetables were limp should've been a warning but unfortunately we ended up with really bad food poisoning this morning. Maybe the ramen is better and safer because it's constantly hot but I wouldn't risk anything else. Lesson learned = don't order anything but ramen from a ramen place.

Yelp
It's a cold snowy night, and I am craving some ramen. Thought I would try this place because it's very close to me especially with the roads being bad out. I was very hesitant to come in and try because it looked closed when we walked by. There was only one table, and half the restaurant was dark. It looked like the back lights were off. And the bar was pretty empty. The ambiance wasn't there for me. When you go in you have to order and pay first then they serve you. You have to tip before you know the service your getting. The gentleman that took care of us was nice and checked on us frequently. For the food, they do have a lot of options from ramen to pho to pad Thai. APPS: we wanted to try something different, raspberry cheese roll. This felt more of a dessert but it wasn't too bad. The crab cheese wontons, was heavy on the cheese and light on the crab. We've had better. ENTREE: They state they do not use MSG so that is always a good thing. I love spicy to I tried to spicy beef tonkotsu. The broth had good flavor. But I was overwhelmed with the amount and beanspourts and cabbages. It was all veggies and no noodles. The beef felt like it was pho beef, over cooked and just didn't go together for me. The egg was probably the best part for me. Not over cooked or undercooked but perfectly done. The next bowl we're use to pork belly with our tonkotsu so this bowl was custom made but there was nothing special about it. The broth was bland and pork belly seemed to be off. I probably come back to try other dishes. Our search for the best ramen in Denver continues.

Yelp
Amazing place!! We came back twice! We were here for 2 days in Denver and the staff was amazing. So attentive. We spend your Christmas Eve with them. They made it special!!

Yelp
Food service distributor spring rolls pretending to be egg rolls. Food service distributor dipping sauce. Don't bother.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I can here cause we were craving Ramen. We first started with strawberry boba and chicken skewers. The strawberry boba was wayyy to sweet for my tastes it tasted a little like peptol bizmal. I really didn't like it as a dedicated boba lover. The chicken skewers were also very dry and for $7 I don't think they were worth the money. We ordered the cha shao ramen and crispy chicken ramen. I loved the broth for the crispy chicken ramen. It was not overly salty which was nice. The crispy chicken was a chicken cutlet on the side. I wasn't the biggest fan as it was a little sour and dry once again. My bfs cha shao ramen was ok they gave a good amount of pork belly. We requested no bean sprouts but they forgot to take them out. Our server was friendly. I personally would not come here for the ramen again, as I feel there are definitely better ramen joints in Denver.
google avatar

Farha S.

Yelp
East Tao is a cute place on the inside, but the food is simply okay. The crab wontons have barely anything in them and what is in there is mainly cheese with barely any crab. The ramen is very bland and I was disappointed at the quality of the chicken. Safe to say, we will likely not be ordering here again.

David N.

Yelp
The owners and the employees are extremely friendly. We called in late and didn't realize they were closing soon. The owner said he'll wait for our family to come in. When we were there, they told us to take our time and to not worry. My wife and our 4 boys ending up ordering a larger late dinner than I imaged and ate everything. The ramen, fried rice, vegetarian dish were all delicious. We hope to visit again soon.
google avatar

Yelp
They are honestly so sweet! I came here with a few friends, they have plenty of vegetarian options as well! They were extremely friendly, quick, and the portions were really big as well, honestly couldn't recommend more! Found my new fav ramen spot ^-^

Yelp
I highly recommend this eating establishment For many reasons the food is excellent and if you have problems with food being too hot they are happy to accommodate your pallet another reason they are so darn nice here from the moment you enter there are nothing but smiles and sincere concern about how you are going to be treated here at their restaurant and the ambience is fantastic continued success to the staff

Yelp
What an awful experience. Where to start. We arrived at about 1:30 for lunch. They show prices for lunch and dinner on their menu, and obviously lunch is way less. We ordered Gyoza and mozzarella sticks for appetizers (Mozz sticks were really weird to see on the menu, but my friend loves them, so she ordered them). The gyoza and mozz sticks are just frozen from a bag. Not terrible, but not great. They served the mozz sticks with chinese sweet and sour sauce (WHAT). I ordered a Thai Iced Tea. I have had hundreds of thai iced teas, and even the worst of them still taste like thai iced tea. Whatever it was they brought me was nearly clear and tasted like someone poured condensed milk into water. No flavor to be had, at all. I returned it for a diet Coke. The ramen was boring. It was pretty, and I will admit the pork belly in my ramen was quite good, but the broth was just devoid of flavor. Just salty. She had asked us if we wanted it spicy, we both said yes, and there wasn't the slightest hint of spice in the broth. Absolutely none. Just super bland. But, my blood started to boil when the checks came. We were charged for the dinner portions of ramen - $13 - instead of lunch. There was a big difference in price between the two. Also, I ordered an extra egg with my ramen, which the menu listed as $1. I was charged $1.50. When the waitress came back, I asked her politely when lunch hours were. She told me, and we easily fell within lunch hours. I questioned why we were charged dinner prices and she said it was because we didn't tell her that we wanted lunch. At 1:30 on a weekday. There is also a $.55 charge for dining in and a similar charge for using a credit card. She begrudgingly changed our dinner charge to a lunch charge....well, I think she did, because when she brought the new checks to us they weren't itemized, so I'm not entirely sure what was adjusted. The whole experience was awful. The best thing about the meal was my Diet Coke. Super bait and switch going on here, probably to make up for the lack of business due to Covid, but it's gross and unwelcome and I would never go back here. Too many amazing ramen joints in Denver to put up with bland broth and bait and switch pricing. EDIT: After reading through the bad reviews for this restaurant, I am /shocked/ at the responses from the owner. I hold the belief that if you're a good restaurant owner and you have seen numerous bad reviews describing the exact same problems (bland broth, ridiculously bad thai iced tea), you would try to make improvements to your business. Instead, you throw insults around at people? I have such secondhand embarrassment reading the owner responses. How gross.

Yelp
Went here on Thursday evening at 11:00PM because everything was closed. Ordered shrimp lo mein, chicken fried rice and homemade kimchi for carry out. The employee was very nice and enthusiastic however the food didn't not live upto my expectation. The lo mein was made with spaghetti pasta rather than the typical noodles that's used so it was hard and not that flavorful. The shrimp in the lo mein was very dry. The fried rice wasn't cooked well, it was very hard and had a bite to it and because it was undercooked, the seasoning didn't mix well. The homemade kimchi was ok, not amazing. Overall, food was disappointing. We barely ate more than 25% of the food. Would not go here again.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. East Tao is always empty which is not a good sign. Very inconsistent food. Peppers is my new go to on Colefax
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
I will never know how good or bad their food is because their doors are always locked each and every time I try to order during lunch.
google avatar

Ryan F.

Yelp
Horrible experience! I was just trying to place an order and the lady that picks up the phone was very rude and hung up saying they weren't open! But there store hours says they close at 1145pm. Plus they have a horrible health score 23 out of 100 East China Asian Cuisine or Taste of China is much better and healthier for you!
google avatar

Roxi F.

Yelp
Really unimpressed. It took over 15 minutes to get an order of three boba teas. The restaurant was empty and it was mid afternoon. They were icy and watery, and look nothing like what was advertised. The Thai milk tea boba did not taste like Thai tea, but rather a weird sugary coffee. We drink a lot of boba and this definitely missed the mark.

Yelp
East Tao, I'm writing you this love letter for many different reasons. Upon arriving to a very chilly, wet Denver... I moseyed on over to Capitol Hill to see what your highly rated, Asian joint had to offer! Entering into a dim lit atmosphere set the mood for a laid back experience. While strutting to my table, I eyed a plate of Raspberry Cheese Rolls on another customers table. My waitress, who had a language barrier, delivered EXCELLENT customer service. She double checked my order twice. She even recommended my entree for dinner. The flavors seemed traditional, authentic and definitely something you can't just find anywhere. The Raspberry Cheese Rolls will make you want thirds. Beef Drunken Noodles with Stir-fried flat rice noodles and onions + the right amount of spice! The Crispy Chicken Ramen was awesome broth!!!! The simplicity of the ingredients flavoring the dish carries at the feel of authenticity. Super fresh and delish. Dreaming of an East Tao in the DFW soon. Or I'll have to wait until Thailand :)
google avatar

America V.

Yelp
unseasoned lo mein, used spaghetti noodles and was very greasy. Vegetables were not crunchy and were kind of slimy. only positive was that it was warm when i got the food. choose another place
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
The ramen is the most flavorful I've ever had. I come once a week just to have the same dish, which should be telling. There are 100% vegan and vegetarian options. So, anyone with any dietary preferences are able to enjoy a meal with friends and family. Also, they have happy hour sake!!!!
google avatar

Theo H.

Yelp
Great service and great food. Came in looking for authentic ramen and that is exactly what we found. I got the pork chop ramen with spicy to lotus ramen and it was top tier! My brother got the chicken ramen and said it was the best he's ever had. For appetizers we got the Shui mai and the veggie egg rolls. Both dishes were amazing and the homemade sauces were very unique. We will definitely be coming back here soon. If you like supporting local businesses and supporting a good family, this is where you should go. The food is just a bonus.

Lee O.

Yelp
So I brought my family to try out the ramen. It ended been only me who ordered it, lol. My husband got the beef pho and my son the steamed dumplings and I got the fried chicken ramen. We LOVED everything we ordered from the appetizer to the taro boba. Delicious and super clean location. I thought it was only for take out but no, you can dine in! Absolutely recommend this place!!!!!

Yelp
Best Panang curry! Order direct instead of the apps, amazing service and faster this way.

Yelp
People: Great Food: Great Location: Great Chicken Ramen: Great Cleanliness: Great Just go. You'll be happy you did.

Alexander H.

Yelp
Amazing local spot for Asian food! The ramen broth is so flavorful and the dumplings are to die for. I also highly recommend the Thai tea as well. The workers are very friendly and the service is always timely.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and decided to give this place a try. They've only been open a couple of weeks and they are in a space where restaurants have struggled but, of all the restaurants that have been in this space, this one is by far my favorite! I tried the Shrimp Spring Rolls and the Chicken Ramen. Both were amazing! When the ramen was delivered to my table I was tempted to add a little bit of soy sauce and some sriracha sauce but tasted the broth first. Once I tasted it as it was served I didn't want anything added. The broth was very flavorful and the chicken, which is baked, was delicious! Plenty of flavor and was cooked perfectly. Based on my first experience here I am now a huge fan. I really hope they are successful. They are a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
I live near the restaurant and regularly order lunch to go. My two favorite dishes so far are the Panang Curry with chicken and the jalapeño chicken meal. The portions are plenty for this 28-year old female. The flavors are fantastic and service is super quick! Every time I visit to pick-up my food, I'm greeted with a huge smile and a happy "HELLO!" from an employee. I've never had delivery but if you choose that and your food shows up cold or gross, it's definitely NOT the restaurant's fault I can tell you that. I love this place!
google avatar

Alexander H.

Yelp
Haven't been there in person but I tried the delivery yesterday. Especially the quality of the meat (tried chicken and beef) is very low. It's chewy and not tender or fresh. Also the Pad Thai was boring and not exciting at all. Invest in quality products instead of selling us this kind of low quality - I would give it another try if you change it. The best part of the delivery was actually the fortune cookie!
google avatar

Deya Z.

Yelp
I came across this place after a meeting & it didn't disappoint. Around 12 pm I was expecting it to be busy, but you could hear crickets (if they had them). The service was super friendly from the get go. The Kimchi ramen was tasty with the right amount of kick. Price wise, it's pretty low cost for a lunch portion at $11.
google avatar

Abraham K.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place because the hostess and server was so nice. However, all the food was very difficult to eat. The Thai iced tea was a mound full of sugar. Drunken noodles were strangely sweet and the noodles were raw. The ramen broth was straight up soy sauce, and egg was cold. Lots of corners were cut for moderately priced dishes ($12-$16).
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
Oh man did this ramen hit the spot! I was hungover and ordered the Golden Tofu Veggie ramen to be delivered and it was everything I could have hoped for AND more. I think crispy tofu is sadly underrated and underutilized and theirs was perfectly amazing! The broth was a perfect flavor and brought me back to life! As a vegetarian it had all of my perfect ramen ingredients: egg, cabbage, mushrooms, bean sprouts! I can't wait to eat this ramen again!
google avatar

Fernando G.

Yelp
Food was great and amazing! It was late night and we were the last ones there but it was super good. I felt like the waiter was a bit overwhelmed but it was okay because I know how it is trying to close and having people still. Must visit :-) late night open too
google avatar

Melissa D.

Yelp
Very Salty yet bland. I ordered vegetable drunken noodles. There was not one bit of basil in it. 3 stars because the vegetables were good.
google avatar

Larah J.

Yelp
Vegan options not good :( I got the vegan fried chicken ramen. The broth was very bland, almost had a chemical taste/smell. The vegan chicken was tasty though. I also ordered the sesame tofu, it was very dry on the outside and the little amount sesame sauce was disappointing.

Erin M.

Yelp
I eat here frequently and the food and staff is always spectacular. I highly recommend any of the soups, broths, and the dumplings! This is my go to spot for comfort food. It's a huge bonus that the location is such a short walk from home.

Yelp
I've visited East Tao three times now, and I've enjoyed it each time. The first time, I had ramen, which seems to be the main thing they're promoting. It was tasty, though I don't eat a lot of ramen. The second time, I had orange chicken. It was also good. I wish it had more vegetables, but the flavor of the chicken was sweet and rich. Today I had something I've never eaten before, one of the house specialties called za jiang mian. It's noodles topped with a very dark, rich soybean and pork sauce that tasted to me like Japanese red miso paste, along with julienned carrots, julienned cucumber, and bean sprouts. What could be improved? I wish they had some small bowls of soup to go with the main dishes, for cool days like today. And I'm not a huge fan of ramen, which is about half their menu. I've seen three Asian restaurants come and go in this location in just the past four years, I think. So I hope East Tao succeeds where others failed.
