I came for the Coco Cloud smoothie. That’s what I ordered and it was fantastic. It was tangy and smooth, the perfect amount of sweetness, and of course the color is eye catching. For the $13, it definitely felt like a treat and not something I’d get all the time but I enjoyed it. My friend ordered the Secret garden juice with beets, grapefruit, pineapple, turmeric, and ginger and she liked it. The employees were friendly and patient. It wasn’t crowded when I came in.. just a few people doing some shopping. We walked around the store and I liked that they had lots of health food items, supplements, vitamins, and vegan snacks and groceries, etc.. It was like a grocery store just with more interesting items. If I was in the area I’d definitely come back in.

The smoothie was so delicious and filling! I didn’t try the famous coco cloud - went for a berry with spinach added. I split it into two because it was that filling so worth the $$ Also the grocery store has awesome products!

On the rare occasion I start feeling a bit under the weather, I always slide over to East Village Organic to heal me. Something about overpaying for organic vegetables really makes me feel better. It's a small mom & pop grocery store with all produce 100% USDA Organic. Certified. Stamp that. They have ready made salads and soup, and I usually go with the 7oz Kale & Quinoa salad that runs me $6.49. HURTS the pockets. The fact the Kale isn't even organic in the ready made salad though...idk. I really come in here for the best ingredients possible for my locally world famous Strawberry Salad. I get a pack of 5oz organic baby butter lettuce ($4.49), a pack of organic strawberries ($6), and the secret ingredient that I can't tell you... okay fine it's a real, quality white vinegar. A good white vinegar goes so far, but the mainstream media won't tell you that. People are running here to try the Erewhon dupe coconut cloud smoothie, but their smoothies have never really done it for me, idk. NYC smoothie culture is lacking. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

This place is a fantastic organic market 🛒 and juice bar!🧃East Village Organic offers a wonderful selection of organic products, vegetables 🍅, canned goods 🥫, juices, and more! Definitely try the Erewhon-style viral Coco 🥥 Cloud ☁️ Smoothie! 🥤 Service is quick ⏲️ and the staff 👨‍🍳 is friendly! I wish I knew about this place earlier!

Google
They care more about your mouth being covered by covid contraption than how they can help the customer. Place is way overpriced. Please go to Wholefoods and avoid this place at all cost.

Google
I love East Village Organic. They have the best products and smoothies. The only problem I have is with the condescending older English man who works there. Do yourself a favor and avoid him.

Vlad Sushchyk

Google
The smoothies here are so good I love stopping by here if I’m ever around for a little pick me up. I’ve had Erewhon smoothies and I think this one is WAY better.

Google
Worse experience!! It’s super small and tight nowhere to wait for the juice. The guy who was preparing the juice had poor attitute and service. He doesn’t allow you to stand there to watch him prepare and gets so offended by that. This is my first ever experience where they don’t allow you to wait and watch them make your food..Where did they expect the customers to wait in such a small space? Not to mention, the service is damn slow.. Clearly employees needed more hospitality training in this organic supermarket. This is not the only place in this area to get better juice and quality foods. Be grateful the locals give you business..Go elsewhere for better quality juice like juice vitality and even better service..

Yelp
I got the blue coconut smoothie that everyone raves about and honestly don't really get the hype. I'm not a fan of yogurty smoothies so that was the first thing that turned me off. I also felt like the aftertaste was a bit strange. They were really busy and had long lines so service was a bit slower. The store ambiance was decently nice though, a lot of locals shopping here.

Yelp
This spot is all the rage because of an Erewhon smoothie dupe (Coco Cloud) -- the line gets long on a weekend but moves pretty quickly. The smoothie was yummy, a bit tart but super creamy. IMO a bit pricey to be in my regular rotation, but would split with a friend and definitely want to come back to try other smoothies and shop organic produce!

Yelp
I just got here from LA & Erewhon has a huge space in my heart. Moving here I was sad I wouldn't find something similar, from the products to the smoothies themselves-- then I heard about E.V.O and was cured. I ordered the coco cloud smoothie and not only is it half the price of Erewhon but it is sooooo delicious ! Far less wait time and you can look around at all the healthy products they have. I'll be here very often, and so should you !

Yelp
super sweet staff and great smoothies. its a great place to grab some nice snacks and groceries

Yelp
This viral smoothie was way better than I thought it would be! There coconut water, mango, and Greek yogurt in it. Tastes almost like a piña colada.
google avatar

Jennie C.

Yelp
i was influenced to come here by tiktok but honestly it was really lackluster and not worth the 12/14$ i paid for the smoothie. it was beautiful but just tasted like thick pineapple juice. also the store employees r so tored of all these gen z (me being one) ppl coming in and getting those smoothies that they are so stone faced. i will say though that the store has great selection. of other organic items. for example i found a lot of herbal teas and throat coat brews that i haven't seen in other grocery stores

Yelp
Smoothies are worth the hype. Delicious. They also sell healthy products and vegetables. Great grab and go grocery market

Yelp
Found this place via tiktok for the erewhon dupe smoothies. I can't justify $12 for this. It was tasty and pretty looking but definitely a one-and-done kinda thing for me.

Yelp
One of my fave spot to get smoothie. So far I've had the green energy and coco cloud. Found this cause of TikTok. Smoothies run about 10+ plus tax. They are soo good would recommend! Staff is very nice as well.

Yelp
Great place with great options - the Erewhon copy cat recipe is good although a tad too much yogurt for my liking

Yelp
My go to organic shop downtown. The produce is always beautiful and all organic. Love to load up on juices, soups and supplements when I'm feeling under the weather. This place also got me thru covid lockdown while living in the East Village and I've been a big fan ever since.

Yelp
The elderly white male is incredibly rude, the kind of rude that he makes you feel like YOU'RE bothering HIM for asking for anything even though he's literally clocked in working .... Why is he so cranky ???

Sharon V.

Yelp
Everyone is so wonderful, helpful and great!! The store is always so clean! The food and drinks are always delicious! The soups are AMAZING!!! The smoothies are delish! Would recommend this wonderful spot to everyone! :-)

Latasia M.

Yelp
My experience it was 2/10 from the drink to the customer service. I didn't enjoy the smoothie that I was given, I want to exchange the drink and recieved a horrible response. The cashier was pretty rude and nasty towards me and questioning why I didn't enjoy my drink. She was pretty hostile towards me which I did not appreciate it because the drink all is $12. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Best soup in the city during the cooler months, delicious and healthy Green Lemonade and acai bowls. Interesting products on the shelves giving you lots of opportunities to try something new, while also doing your regular grocery shopping. They carry lots of fresh organic produce, excellent selection of teas and spices, and plenty of snacks, plus a nice selection of ready made salads and sandwiches in the refrigerated section. Also a good bulk food selection. They make the most of the small space, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and seem to enjoy being there to help you out.

Ricky E.

Yelp
Not only are the people here incredibly rude and clearly only interested in conversing with their known customers, but the juices I've gotten have been consistently underripe fruit and borderline undrinkable. Would recommend people go anywhere else for their juice.

Lizzy G.

Yelp
Great owners, employees, food and juices! I lived in the neighborhood for 7 years and live in a different neighborhood now but will make the trek just to visit East Village Organic. I miss being able to go daily!

Yelp
Great local organic grocery store in the East Village. They have some of the best looking veggies in the East Village. I could spend hours in here looking at everything. They have a ready-to-eat section which everything looks amazing. They also have a juice bar inside to get your daily nutrients if you are in need of a snack. Or if you simply just want an apple, then they gotcha covered. So check them out, my fav in the East Village! Cheers & Enjoy!

Yelp
A fellow Yelper--by posting some pictures--inspired me to visit today. I was in the area, so why not? East Village Organic is right on 1st Avenue and is one of those health/food market stores I tend to appreciate. Like most stores as such, their merchandise is very similar: vitamins/supplements, organic fruits/veggies, bread, refrigerated items (including a good selection of vegan "meat" and cheese, spices, almond/peanut butter and a lot more. The space is large enough---a bit narrow--and there's a juice bar on the premises as well as some fresh baked food such as spinach pie and za'atar bread. There's a wide variety of protein bars and packaged nuts. It's quite easy to pick up any necessary items. Keep in mind, the prices vary from reasonable/average to steep. I saw some pints of ice cream priced at $9.99. I wasn't familiar with the brand. I picked up some pita bread and fruit while there. Like most health/organic stores, I'm sure it's appreciated in this neighborhood.

Yelp
I come here every time I'm craving something healthy Im always greeted at the door by the owner, the produce is fresh and organic just the way our city likes it. I recommend all my friends and family to come here. The açaí bowls are spectacular that's where they surprised me. The service was amazing when I first went there as I was new to the organic food game. As he advised me to get the green machine and I've been getting it ever since and as a nice palate cleanser he told me to get the house made hummus. The ambiance is great too and I whenever I walk they always have some amazing jazz that gets me going and in a great mood.

Donald M.

Yelp
Save your hard earned money ! This establishment has 6 major problems ! 1. Exorbitant prices for everything on their shelves 2. Customer Service is about as low as it comes ( being an organic market, one would think that the staff would be very knowledgeable and on top of their game to be in the service industry ) 3. Their system of delivering you your extremely expensive juice or smoothie is horrible! ( the cashier or the juicer doesn't call out your name, or the drink, when it's ready ! 4. The cashier and managers don't seem to care at all about making sure you wait for you expensive drink ! 5. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, who works there smiles at you or asks you if you need assistance, ever ! 6. If you do ask for assistance or customer service, it comes with sad faces, as if they are doing you a favor! Give me a break ! AT THESE HIGH PRICES IN THE EV .. I'll NEVER return or give the poorly managed staff and overpriced market costs my hard earned money ever again BEWARE

Yelp
I've been going to this local grocery store for years. Amazing selection of unique items as well as daily essentials. Also super unique is their selection of herbs which I use to make custom teas. They have things like dry Valerian root, dry ginger, dry licorice, lavender, rose petals, camomile, bee pollen, etc. all in bulk by weight and so much more affordable that other hip specialty shops/tea shops in the area. Also large section of bulk gains / chocolates, etc. Best homemade organic acai bowls in the area. Smoothies & Juice Bar too! Owner works in the store, believes in what he sells and uses it himself. Cannot say enough about this spot. The store is truly one of a kind - truly a gem in the area.

Hussein S.

Yelp
Had to make a stop before I left the city, this place is such a special store and I enjoyed every single thing about it, i grabbed myself an açaí bowl and a pb&j smoothie on my way out, the açaí bowl was just awesome, the service was amazing and friendly and all the employees were very welcoming, this smoothie knocked me out of my shoes!! I'm so glad I stopped by before I headed out!!

Hussein S.

Yelp
This business is such a gem in the community. I accidentally stumbled into this place by looking for a beverage to get me through the day and wow was I amazed. The customer service was superb and I felt so welcome, especially with how friendly the owner Ali was. He recommended that I try the Green Energy smoothie and I had some hummus and I was taken aback. The Green Energy smoothie was such a refreshing boost and I needed it to help me get through a long day of work. The hummus had to have been the best hummus I have ever tried in my life and I had to take some extra home. Overall this place was amazing and I will for sure be stopping by regularly for groceries and the pick-me-up smoothies.

Amy S.

Yelp
Amazing store with so much choice and high quality products. It feels exactly how an authentic organic store should (not a fake one trying to be trendy!) and the people were super helpful and friendly. A real gem; I love it!

Kim H.

Yelp
What can I say about this gem of a store? Great juice bar!! Fresh produce!! Amazing soups! Well run grocer!!
google avatar

Joshy B.

Yelp
prices vary from okay to obscenely high, don't be fooled by the "mom and pop" feel here. staff will ask you to return items to where they were if you decide on not getting them at the register and won't bag your items for you if you bring your own, its like if the worst parts of a co op and a whole foods had a child.

Yelp
East village organic is more than an organic.. An average size organic market with all the fine organic stuff makes the place a little bit tight between the shelves. But still enjoying each steps in between those shelves and stares lots of organic stuff. As I said it's not only a organic market, recently they stated to make organic juice and smoothies. Who does not love organic smoothies if it's make out of mangoooooo. Yeah you can mango smoothies that you will not find that anywhere ellse or any other juice place . Not even pressed juice has it I think . And it will cost you close $9 but listen it does worth it. Other than the smoothies and organic stuff, during day they have home made soup , which is fantastic and amazing and all the good words that I have to repeat again and again . The owner is nice to take good care of the busnies all clean and organized , employees are nice and polite to help you . Not: close @10pm so stay up for tomorrow...

Anne N.

Yelp
Super unsafe conditions during the pandemic. Do not shop here. They do not require masking or spacing. I have an at-risk health condition and when I asked politely for them to please enforce the standard safety precautions owner became irate and said I could shop elsewhere right now. I would have appreciated a courteous reply as I have shopped there for years and most stores in the the neighborhood are taking precautions. The shop is small and unsafe. Lots of safe options in the neighborhood. Experience is made all the more unsafe by the behavior of the owner. Shop elsewhere. Plenty of entrepreneurs in the neighborhood who do treat patrons with respect and care.

Yelp
At first, this place might look like your average organic supermarket where you have to pay slightly higher prices for organic fruit, vegetables, and other goods. However, in truth, it is so much more! Not only does this place sell amazing produce, but the people there are always so friendly and ready to help. Though it is a small store, they manage to also sell fresh juice, smoothies and acai bowls as well as soup in the winter months. I would highly recommend coming to this place if you are trying to shop locally and avoid the more commercial health food stores like Whole Foods. When you shop at East Village Organic, you know you are getting your food from a good source! They have a great selection of herbal remedies as well. P.S. I once ran into Fred Armisen there and it was amazing.
google avatar

Nick M.

Yelp
Amazing local neighborhood grocery store! High quality products (esp bulk bin and fresh produce!) at fair prices, really nice staff, and a little bit of everything you could want. Also great smoothies and soups! Don't go to Whole Foods, go here!
google avatar

Ru C.

Yelp
I can't resist coming in here when I walk by to treat myself to their house organic hummus, baba ghanoush, and mujadara. Totally a must try! Their grape leaves are also tasty!
google avatar

Ariela K.

Yelp
Amazing soups! I ritually go here everyday and always get two :) I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I found a bug in my soup today :( And I'm vegetarian. The store is a liiiitle bit pricey but I totally understand that's because it's a small business (not like Trader Joe's or Whole Foods), and rent is expensive in the East Village. I recommend! The owner is also a super nice guy, and calls everyone "love" :)
google avatar

Sally P.

Yelp
It's hard to express how special this place is. Their juice bar is fantastic, and so are their homemade soups if you just need something quick that will make you feel good. Produce is always fresh. Prices are what I expect for organic, sometimes lower than chain stores. I'm also always shocked how a place this size always seems to have everything I need. It's not the kind of thing where I leave the small local place and have to make a second stop to grab other items. As others have expressed though, East Village Organic is so much more than a grocery store. If you're new to the area, stop in, become a regular, everyone who works there is incredibly kind. In my experience, they've taken COVID very seriously and offer gloves for customers to use when they shop. I feel safer shopping here than other places as it usually isn't crowded. A few years ago when I was thinking of moving out of the neighborhood, Ali's smoothies were on my "Pro" list for staying in the East Village. Ali asking me how I'm doing in his upbeat way and remembering my order months after I'd been gone meant so much to me.
google avatar

Yelp
great store! lovely owners! fresh delicious produce. cubed organic watemelon is delicious and same price as close-by big chain store's which has no flavor and not organic. Happy to use my purchasing power here!

Michael C.

Yelp
EVO is THE source in the East Village for an amazing selection of the healthiest food on earth! This store is the perfect example of efficient use of space. You won't believe the range of delicious, wholesome foods in this smallish space. And, the owners create their own line of delicious foods including the World's Best hummus! Smoothies, baking supplies, frozen pizzas, fruit and entrees, fresh ground nut butter, soups - you name it, if it's good for you, they've got it! Plus, the staff is among the friendliest you'll ever meet. Stop by - you won't regret it and you'll be healthier for it!
google avatar

Robbie D.

Yelp
Superb staff. First off they're friendly, and second, they actually seem to practice what they preach, with extensive knowledge on organic foods, herbs, fun tips and tricks. Everyone is more than helpful and sweet, and I feel like its truly an immersive experience shopping there. Overall the selection is decent too. It's a small store, so some things I need to go to Whole Foods for, but generally they always cover my needs and then some in some unexpected way. Organic juice bar is a perfect addition. This place is an East Village staple.
google avatar

Min T.

Yelp
I was looking at their organic drinks section while being interrupted by the smell of fresh carrots. Can you believe it? The vegetables here are so fresh and clean that they smell like Garden of Eden. No meat, though. Only low-calorie products.
google avatar

Fallopia T.

Yelp
East Village Organic has been open less than a week, and I'm happy to see Kim (of Penny's General Store) and Ali (of Golden Fruit and Vegetable market) have joined forces. Because it's so new, they have a lot of empty space so far; they apparently see consumer demand for dairy in this neighborhood as being sky-high, because that's the most developed department so far. I'm happy to have another source for grains, legumes, and fresh vegetables in the neighborhood; they have excellent hours and are open 7 days, which is a huge plus. However: I sure wish they had more vegan products; I can--and do--go to Haymaker's in Williamsburg for the best selection of everything vegan under the sun, but it would be great to have this stuff closer. [Yes, I know fruit and vegetables are the very definition of vegan, but I'm talking about vegan cheeses and other prepared foods you may not be able to get just anywhere.] That said, it's early yet; I'll be keeping an eye on this store, since they're off to such a promising start.

Yelp
広ーい!種類多いー!チョコが恐ろしく高い! I go to comodides usually. Its on 1st Avenue and 10th st. i love to discover new store. Its big store . Then We could find very easily. I found new chocolate ! Really happy to fimd some! There are some organic ice cream . Organic fresh juice!

Yelp
I used to visit the owner of East Village Organic Ali, at his corner store before he opened this one. He's always been so friendly and makes you happy to return. This store has everything you could possibly need that is yummy and healthy. The smoothies are always up-to-date with the latest health trends. I'm so happy he's doing well. This is definitely a stop you need to make when you were in East Village.

Yelp
I've been a customer at Commodities since the 1990's, but have started coming to EVO more and more. Mostly because EVO's wife makes the best homemade goodies! Her lentil soup is incredible. Her dolmas are wonderful, not greasy at all and really taste homemade with care. BUT MY FAVORITE thing she makes is this crazy amazing flat bread with awesome spices. Warm it up in your oven, dip it into the lentil soup: mind! blown! And it's affordable. More homemade stuff, please? Okay? EVO, you reading this? I also heard a girl at the counter tell them their homemade hummos was her favorite in the city. Wow. What a compliment. P.S. The crazy amazing flat bread is only available Tuesdays and Fridays, after 4pm. It's right there at the register. And they run out fast. MAKE MORE AND MORE OFTEN PLEASE, EVO.

Yelp
Support your local neighborhood stores!. I really love this place! I have lived in many neighborhoods where there are organic groceries, and this one is probably my all-time favorite so far. It is smaller, so sometimes difficult to navigate around a baby carriage and other shoppers when you have a basket, but that is just the nature of New York City stores in general. The prices are good-moderate for Organic - with just a few prices that are a tad more.... totally expected for Organic grocery tho, and I'd rather pay more and support local than pay less and fund more of the corporate America supermarket chains. The juice bar is wonderful, although it can get a little congested sometimes & you have to wait a bit in the mornings, and the line direction is a little confusing. I've discovered some of my favorite snacks here - everything is well-curated, and they really listen if you suggest carrying something. The owner is the best! (I think he's the owner?) Always helpful, cheery, and he loves what he does. It shows!. The morning cashier staff is amazing- energetic, peppy, friendly & upbeat, while the evening staff seems to be consistently a bit more morose & sometimes grumpy. Long day. Overall, I adore this place and only wish it were a bit bigger to fit more amazing food.

Yelp
At last, if you're health conscious, there is no better place than this neighborhood organic market. The minute you enter, the fresh smell of fresh fruits and vegetables confirms that you're in the right place. There is a wide selection of organic products to chose from including the best smoothies and fresh juices in town. The prices are fair and competitive. Don't miss the homemade delicious soups during the fall to spring seasons. I especially love the yellow lentil soup! ( a secret family recipe) Ali, the owner, is the man behind the blender, provides excellent customer service and is consistent in keeping the fresh in his products. So come support a family business that truly deserves 5-stars today.

Yelp
Try the very best homemade, natural-organic soup in the East Village, maybe in all of New York City! There were three selections recently: a. Lentil b. Chile c. Cream of mushroom The lentil soup was made with yellow lentils, barley and other organic veggies with herbs and spices like turmeric. The chile soup had tons of organic veggies and different kinds of beans with herbs like cilantro and parsley (stems, great!), mildly spicy. The cream of mushroom soup was real creamy with butter too. Mmm. EVERYTHING AS FRESH AS COULD BE AND DELECTABLY SPICED! Have had their splendid homemade hummus and babaghanoush too. Shopkeeper Ali is a delight as well, always pleasant and accomodating. The store occupies the spot previously held by Kim's Video and before that by Kurowycky Meats.

Yelp
The East Village is so blessed by this market! The owners are so sweet, staff is so helpful, produce is so fresh! The bulk section is solid and they offer paper bags for filling up so it's plastic-free friendly! Kombucha on tap is great price, fresh ground peanut butter is delicious and their juice & smoothie bar is awesome! Nothin but love for these guys - thank you!!!

Stas C.

Yelp
This store is fantastic as are the owners, but I must say that Shanice (one of the cashiers) is absolutely amazing. She always goes out of her way to help me while being extremely efficient and deserves a promotion. I have been going to this store for years and must say that since she has been here I have found my experience to be much more pleasurable and find joy going in going grocery shopping instead of seeing it as a chore. Thank you so much for bringing accessible organic groceries to the East Village. My son who is celiac really appreciates your gluten free options which makes my life much easier being able to find everything g in one place.
