This was my first coming here while visiting and the place did not disappoint at all; this is a traditional Hong Kong Style cuisine, a.k.a. Cantonese cuisine.
Here's what I ordered:
- Salt and pepper soft shell crab: So good!
- Shrimp fried rice: Can't go wrong with fried rice in general, but this one wasn't too greasy and was pretty filling.
- Xiao long Bao: The eight pieces of Bao were heavy on the meat filling and light on the soup - that would be my only complaint, but that doesn't mean that the taste wasn't there. I'm a more soup than meat filling kind of person, so it's a personal preference and also why I didn't take away any stars.
- Shrimp and crab maw soup: Such a delicious and perfect dish during the comder months here, and there was so much of it. I would absolutely recommend this, with a dash of white pepper when you take your own serving.
The portions are fit for 3-4 people, so as a party of two, we definitely had a lot leftover. Not a bad thing if you like leftovers of good food!
Price wise it was perfect too, especially for the quantity that you get; the bill came out to ~$70, after taxes but before the tip.
The interior is almost spotless, with no meat/seafood smell hanging around. I know the vegetarians in my family would absolutely appreciate that as they, understandably, have a hard time going into restaurants that have that event.
The service was perfect for me since the servers still wore masks and we're just the right amount of attentive - coming around to fill our waters, check on us twice during the entire time, and take away empty dishes, but leaving us alone for most of the meal.
Since this is in a shopping complex, parking can get "tight" in Houston/Texan terms - you may not be able to park right in front of the restaurant, but it's not more than a five minute walk once you find a spot from the car to the place.
