The 15 Best Pies In London - London - The Infatuation
"The old-school ‘cockney food bar’ in Poplar is a go-to for east London pie and mash. Everything is made on site and, unlike some pie and mash shops, we’re not inclined to drown the entire plate in malt vinegar. Pastry can lean a little inconsistent (either over or under) but that’s part of Maureen’s charm. The minced beef has got a pleasant pepperiness and the liquor is swimming in parsley. It’s proper grub for not a lot." - jake missing
Superb pie and mash, first time visiting the UK and always wanted to try a few places. Definitely a fan now, my favourite so far.

Absolutely amazing pie and mash. Just sat down and enjoyed a beautifully cooked Chicken, Ham & Leek, mash and chicken gravy. It was truly amazing. The chicken was melt in your mouth and the mash was just lumpy enough to constitute “proper mash”. I’d definitely come back with these prices!

What a lovely shop.
Proper pies. None of that puff pastry on top. Proper liquor. Not runny or bright green. Lovely staff who love what they do.
Some bonuses including outside seating, vegetarian pies (if that way inclined), and freshly baked desserts.
In my opinion, the best in Tower Hamlets and easily in the top 5 in London.

Wonderful traditional pie and mash, fantastic atmosphere, lovely staff.
The nicest Apple Crumble I have ever eaten.
A gem!
Going back again in a couple of weeks, before a West Ham game.

The most authentic pie shop so far: not run down as other competitors, very clean, apple crumble recommended. Pie&mash, dessert and drink for less than £10.
Mash is less buttery than elsewhere, so healthier and plenty of liquor on top.

I have been going here for years and in my opinion is the best lie and mash in London. Today I also had the school cake along with pie and mash and it made it an absolutely perfect meal. Spot on!

Took my son for his first Pie & Mash, so East London was the logical choice. The food was very nice and we both enjoyed the food, Especially Ray who had a children’s pie and mash, which was a nice touch to his first visit.
The staff were friendly and attentive to Ray which made the whole experience very favourable. Will be visiting again soon.

Staff really nice, shop really clean. Unfortunately food not so great. Rate is 6.5 out of 10. I rate Maureen’s (2 minutes away as 9 out of 10). I really hate pie mash when the pies are burnt. Mash not the best either. A shame the pie mash ain’t so great as staff are lovely and shop very clean with puddings on the menu also.
