Where to Pick Up Picnic Food For Chicago’s Parks - Eater Chicago

"Offering light American and European fare, Eastgate Café is the ideal place to load up on picnic foods. Grab sandwiches and salads and then walk a few minutes east to Columbus Park for al fresco dining." - Jeffy Mai

Lovely cosy place with yummy food and great service. I love the atmosphere here and the timeless feel of place. Some good books to read. The outdoor patio is really beautiful and they have jazz in evening over weekends

Easy to find, right in the heart of the Art district. I parked my car right opposite the cafe, I guess that was possible only because I came here on my lunch break and traffic was light. I ordered a marinated chicken breast sandwich and sweet iced tea. The ice tea was a rich in raspberry flavor, reminiscent of what I have had in London Soho district and the sandwich, healthy, devoid of cheese and fattening cream. I dare say it was tasteful, sweet... just like the pleasant Serbian lady - Violeta who attended to me. I liked it.

Great atmosphere with live music and friendly staff. The outdoor seating was pleasant, providing a place you can just sit and relax with a drink for a while. The macaroons were not as fluffy as desired, but overall we enjoyed our time here!

Food and people who run the place are amazing. The second I walked in I was greeted, seated and offered some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. Love this place and definitely coming back for seconds 🤤

Wonderful Sunday afternoon Jazz Quartet. I only stopped in to meet a friend but the menu and place is lovely. Will definitely be back.

I love this place. Pat and his wife are always warming and very wonderful to deal with. Pet is very exceptional in the kitchen and he makes a killer bloody Mary
